The movie “A Single Man” is based on the novel of the same name, written by the author Christopher Isherwoods (1964).
Fashion designer Tom Ford, delivers with his film debut a gorgeous BL Drama, full of intense emotions. The plot may feel calculated and therefore appears a little unspectacular at times, but the outstanding acting of the cast (Colin Firth, Matthew Goode, Julianne Moore, Nicholas Hoult, Jon Kortajarena) makes greatly up for it. Another thing worth pointing out, is the visual aspect of the movie. The character design and movie set are eye catching and depict the 60’s era on point, which gives the whole movie a nostalgic vibe. The camera work is also stunning. For example, while watching the movie, you will notice how perfect the director plays with different camera filters so that the colors reflect the mood perfectly.
To sum it all up, “A Single Man” is a emotional BL Drama worth watching, which shines through its good story line and even better dialogues. Although, i loved this movie especially for its exceptional cast performance and the visuals.
