Sosuke chuckled again. "Fine, huh? You can barely speak a full word without slurring." He ruffled Sidney's hair once more before the younger male stepped back and stretched his arms out. The strangest thought of Sidney being 'cute' when he rubbed his eyes crossed Sosuke's mind. He raised an eyebrow at the thought and turned to watch the sea like Sidney had. He turned back to look at him however when the rest of the men started piling up on deck. He ruffled Sidney's hair once more and began walking away. "Don't come crying to me when your sleepy self can't handle even a drop of rum." He grinned with a wink and left Sidney to himself, still leaning over the railing. Sosuke found himself immediately starting up a a conversation with some of the men.

Sidney looked at him, pouting a bit. "M' speaking my words just fine," he mumbled, and smile growing on his face once more. He instinctively leaned into it, more then usual. "I will be okay, I can handle my liquor." He didn't know if that was actually the, he'd never had a drop of it in his life. He was bound to get drunk faster than any of the of men on board if he wasn't careful how much he decided to have. The young navigator's eyes looked over the deck, deciding if he should try and talk to anyone. He figured it would be best to just stay there for a bit, letting the cool air wake him up. He didn't have to wait long before one of the crew came over to talk to him, happy someone decided to join his company. He laughed at the jokes, patting the other on the back, being his usually over friendly self.

Dinner had finished and all the men were now on the deck. It was still too early for them to start overly drinking. But at this time Sosuke didn't mind when a few men grabbed at least one mug and drank it slowly. If they had chugged it all in one and went for another then he'd start another lecture. He tried to make it so he wasn't lecturing more then twice in one day. And lately he had been able to get around lecturing. He was proud of his crew, at such a young age, Sosuke didn't think most of the men in his crew would agree to following such a young captain. But they proved him wrong.

Time had passed and now the sun was completely gone. Men were starting to bring out barrels of rum and wine. Some men were starting on the traditional pirate sing along before they started drinking. Sosuke waited for the rest of the men to grab a mug of alcohol before he did. Luckily he didn't have to wait long when one of the crew members brought him a mug. It was one time Sosuke really enjoyed being on this ship, being the captain. Moments like this was when he was proud to call these men his family.

Sidney decided to slip out right before everyone started drinking, deciding to just skip out tonight. It wasn't that he was tired, he was wide awake now, he just wanted to get a head start on fixing the other map that needed to be done. The young navigator got into the crew's quarters, sitting at the old desk. The chair squeaked a bit under him, weak to his weight. He grabbed the map that was left on the table, setting it in front of him. He grabbed the feather once more, dipping it into the ink. He reconnected the lines that had faded from the other lines, re did the smeared areas. It was turning out well with how little he had to work with. He was disappointed he skipped out on another chance to drink with the crew, but he felt so awlward since its be his first time drinking. The age difference with the other men was so odd to him, he was surprised he was even allowed on the ship at such a young age. He definitely felt a lot more comfortable around Sosuke because they were so close in age, but then at times he felt so distant from everyone.

Sosuke was on his second mug of beer by the time he noticed one person missing from the mass of drunken sailors. Sidney had clearly sneaked away when no one was paying attention. He felt dissapointed, not in Sideny, but in himself. If he had been paying more attention, he could have stopped Sidney from leaving the crew. He was hoping he'd be able to see just how Sidney would drink, or how much he would drink. What smile he had on his face had now dispersed in to one grim line. Luckily enough, most of the men were already drunk and wouldn't be able to see whether or not he had a smile on his face. Those who did notice just didn't say anything. Sosuke was ready to leave to his own cabin and go to bed. But he wouldn't ruin the night for the rest of his crew. He knew how much they enjoyed his company, no matter how sour he was, when they were drinking.

Sidney finished the map, leaving it alone to dry. He was sure he could still join the others for drinks if he left now, his only worry was that one of the drunken men would ruin what he had done if he left while it was still wet. He would take his chances, he needed to stop being so reserved when it came to drinking. The navigator took some deep breaths, gaining the courage to leave. He got out of the crew's quarters, striding over to Sosuke, seeing he was still out there by luck. He had to step around some of the men passed out, balancing around the ship to make his way over to Sosuke. "Captain! Sorry, I was working on that other map. Wanted to get it done, m' sorry I didn't join you earlier," he chirped. He sat down next to next to the other, holding a wide smile. "I was wondering if I could have a taste out of your mug before I get my own. I want to make sure I like it." He felt a bit shy asking that, but it was for a good reason. He didn't want to get a mug to end up not drinking it, though he was sure someone else would take it if he really didn't want it.

Sosuke was now in a more grumpy mood. His frown visible on his face. However, the sour mood he put himself in left as quickly as he spotted the navigator making his way over to him. Hopping and sliding through fallen crew members. When Sidney joined him by his side, only a small frown was set on his face. But nothing that would throw anyone off. It was gone in seconds when Sidney smiled up at him, apologizing for leaving him alone. He forgave the navigator, ruffling the hair of his head. He was glad to feel the softness of his hair once more. When Sidney had asked to try his beer before getting his own, Sosuke did not hesitate in allowing him to do so. He handed him the beer mug, which at this time was his 4th mug, and watched him as he drank it. At just two mugs many men fell drunk, but Sosuke held the highest tolerance to alcohol then the rest.

Sidney enjoyed feeling the hand on his head, glad the other forgave him. Taking the mug, he took a swig, scrunching his nose. "This is terrible, how does anyone drink this," he mumbled, staring intensely at the drink he held. Deciding that it was only because it was his first time trying it, that he might like it after the second swig, it was not the case. Third time's a charm, that seemed to be the case. The bitter, burning feeling he felt had subsided, allowing him to just taste the tart flavor of the beer. He had no intention of giving Sosuke his mug back now that he was getting into the drinking of the alcohol. He started to down it pretty fast, enjoying the new flavor he had just been introduced to. He gulped down all do it till there was only little drops left in the glass. He put it down in his lap, pouting. It was gone within a few gulps, making him want to get more. After realizing he had just drank the entire class ment for Sosuke, he dipped his head in embarrassment. "M' sorry cap... tain," the words beginning to slur. His head felt cloudy, not being able to focus properly. The navigator felt his cheeks flush a bit, handing the mug back to Sosuke slowly.

Sosuke had no intention of stopping the navigator from finishing his drink. Sosuke chuckled as Sidney took the first to drinks. But on the third Sosuke had decided resting his chin in his hand, which was rested on his leg, would be the outcome of how he would watch Sidney drink the rest of his rum. When he had finished the one mug and ended up pouting because of it, Sosuke ended up laughing again. He got up and grabbed to more mugs of rum. Handing Sidney one mug he winked down at him sat beside him, ruffling his hair. "Don't drink this one fast. You'll have one heck of a time once morning comes." Sosuke took a swig of his mug, which ended up emptying it half way. Yet no matter how much he had, he wasn't drunk.

Sidney took the mug, not so eager to have received it. It wasn't a idea to drink anymore than he already had, but since Sosuow gave it to him he decided not to refuse. "I won't, don't worry," sounding out his words slowly so they didn't slur as bad as before. He took a swig, savoring the taste it gave. He leaned against Sosuke a bit, needing something to support him from falling over. He felt tired once more, feeling like he was going to just pass out next to all the others on the deck. He wouldn't let that happen, he'd stumble his way towards the crew's quarters, wanting to sleep on a nice bed. He had complete forgotten about the map, knowing should've checked up on it by now to make sure it was still safe on the desk. When Sosuke took his hand away, Sidney grabbed it, putting it back on his head. "Don't stop, feels nice." He closed his eyes, just feeling the other against him. Even when his body relaxed, he kept a tight grip on the mugs handle, making sure he didn't spill the drink.

Sosuke knew that this mug was going to be his last, even Sidney would either drink just a touch more or not at all. He felt when the navigator leaned against him, bracing himself from toppling over on to his face or back like any other man would. Sosuke removed his hand from Sidney's head as he went to drink from his mug again. He stopped midway to bringing his mug to his mouth when Sidney grabbed his hand and placed it on his head again. Sosuke let a smile grace his lips and left his hand on Sidney's head, gently giving it a rub or two when he felt like it. It was pretty obvious that Sidney would fall asleep sooner rather then later. Sosuke didn't exactly want him to fall asleep, he wanted to stay here with the navigator just a little longer. But he knew he'd be able to handle it, since they shared the same space on the same ship. Sosuke finished the rest of his rum.

Sidney kept his eyes open, smiling when the other episodes run his head now and then. It was a bold move for him to make, but he could easily blame it on the alcohol. He wasn't going to be able to stay awake much longer, but he wanted to stay awake as long as he could with Sosuke. "M' not drinking for awhile," he mumbled. It made him too sleepy, he was supposed to watch the steering of the ship tonight, but that isn't going to happen when his drowsy is from just a little intake of the alcohol. He held the drink of his lap, shifting his gaze up to the night sky. "Is so pretty." The stars were little lights that danced in the sky, twinkling with joy, or so that's what he liked to think. He loved being able to see them in the clear night sky, nothing around to ruin the view of the glorious night sky. Just him looking up from the ship, surrounded by the sea. The stars left a beautifully reflection in the water, he loved the night sky being illuminated off the ocean, it was the most magnificent thing he saw when he first got a chance to. He missed being a little kid getting to experience new things.

Sosuke watched Sidney from the side. He really liked watching him, he made things interesting. Sosuke chuckled when Sidney mentioned he wasn't going to be drinking any alcohol for a while. Sosuke set down his mug and reached for Sidney's drinking the rest of it in one go. With five drinks, Sosuke deemed his drinking done for the night. Anymore and he would in fact begin to get drunk. And with everyone else already drunk or sleeping, he'd have to make sure to take watch tonight. It was supposed to be Sidney's turn for watch, but he'd rather the navigator just sleep the night away and not worry about watch. He'd send him off to bed when it was right and then Sosuke would stay away the rest of the night. He was used to it, but he knew a few of the crew members would lecture him come morning for being the one to stay awake. Especially with the harbor coming up in front of them soon. The captain would definitely have to stay awake for that. He smiled to himself at the thought of being lectured.

Sidney let go of his mug when the other took it, amazed by how high of a tolerance Sosuke had for alcohol. He let his weight go more on Sosuke as he closed his eyes. "You are gonna be my pillow until I fall asleep," he declared, his speech still slurring. "Don't care what happens after I fall asleep." Not many would ever think to speak to their captain way he did, but until the older man yelled at him, he'd continue to do it. The young navigator has never once even been questioned by Sosuke about it. Feeling no movement from the hand rested on top of his head, he put his hand on top of the other's, moving it for him. He heard a laugh from the other, causing the younger my to smile. "Don't stop. At least until I go to sleep," he muttered under his breath. The cool air felt nice against his over heated body. Once he fell asleep he's probably fall backwards, but right now, he just wanted to lay against the other. It felt so relaxing.

Sosuke sat still, allowing Sidney to lay against him. When Sidney forced him to move his hand again, the captain let out a small laugh. Sosuke did what he was told to do by the navigator and continued to rub his head. He could tell that any minute the younger male would fall asleep. But for now he would accompany him. Sosuke looked up at the sky, watching as the stars slowly moved past them. He remembered looking up at the stars when he was younger. There was even a secret hide out he and his siblings discovered, where they would watch the stars together. Many times they would get in trouble the following morning for falling asleep outside. Sosuke didn't like to think of his past. But there were times, just like now, when he couldn't help but want to think of them. He owed it to them.

Sidney's breathing slowed, becoming rythmic, showing he had fallen asleep. He didn't have any strength to stay awake any longer, his eyes just needed to close. He remained in his upright position laying on Sosuke, shifting himself so he was being more supported. His body completely relaxed, loosening I reeled. He would drift in and out of consciousness every time the other would shift, but sleep would claim him once more. He rarely ever dreamed, every time he slept, he only dreamed of blackness. It would bother others with how they lacked dreaming, but he enjoyed it. The young navigator never had to worry about having a nightmare or an erotic dream he has heard about from the other men. He was fine with dreaming of nothing, the blackness was just as soothing to him. As long as he had something to keep him warm, he usually never woke up. It was rare to find him awake, out of his bed when he decided to take a much needed rest.

Sosuke could sense the young male drifting in and out of sleep. He tried to stay as still as he possibly could until he had completely fallen asleep. And as soon he did, Sosuke would help him downstairs into the crew quarters and rest him on his hammock. Sosuke continued rubbing Sidney's head until he knew he was asleep. The slight splashing of waves against the hull of the ship made for a great stress reliever. He could listen to the sound all day and all night. Sosuke rested his eyes and listened to the sounds of the sea. It calmed him down and helped him think. The sea sounded peaceful, he figured it would be another calm night again. And tomorrow they would reach the harbor for sure.

Sidney finally fell into his deep slumber, one he was surely not going to wake up from. He was only aware of being put into his hammock, but he didn't wake up from it. He heard the movements around him and felt the movements from his body, but nothing made him wake up. He snuggled into the pillow when he was set into the hammock, enjoying the warmth coming from it. Many would say it was freezing, but you got used to the temperature changes when out on the sea. His body became used to the cold air, anything he touched was always warmer, making him instinctively snuggle with it if he was asleep. It was just a natural reflex he had develop over the years.

Sidney awoke to hearing the ringing of the breakfast bell, covering his ears, trying to ignore it. There was no point in trying to go back to bed, he was already woken up. Though it was surprising that he didn't wake up before the bell like normal, it was probably because of the rum he decided to drink. It mixed with the sleeping medicine that was wearing off, making him a lot more drowsy than he first anticipated. He rolled out of the hammock, seeing that he was the only one left in the room. The navigator rubbed his eyes, yawning. He looked over, immediately panicking. There was a huge ink blotch that was on a good portion of the map he had just recently fixed. That must have meant the ink had spilt, though who the culprit was, was unknown. He ran his fingers over the map, the ink already dry. His morning did not start off well, it was going to be obvious he was in a bad mood. He stormed into the eating quarters, grabbing an apple from the basket on the table. He was going to stay but he didn't want to accidently snap at anyone, so he left the eating quarters, heading up to the main deck.

The following morning Sosuke was the first into the eating quarters for breakfast and the first to leave. He figured he'd let the men eat first then gather on the deck before he got the rest he needed to catch up on what he missed out on. The harbor was still no where in sight, but he knew it wouldn't be too long before it came into sight. On the deck he was leaning over the wheel, letting a good long yawn overwhelm him. He hadn't noticed when Sidney stepped out on the deck, nor the fact that he was in a bad mood. It was only time when he found that out the hard way. Sosuke caught a pelican flying by and for some reason decided to watch it for a while before it left his view. By this time Sidney was pretty well on the deck of the ship.

Sidney leaned over the railing like usual, biting into his apple. He noticed Sosuke was on board but he decided not to say anything. The worst thing he could do was snap at the captain of the ship for no reason. He was most upset baking how he had no one to blame, no one to take responsibility, so everything was put on him. He wouldn't go looking for who did it, he just hoped they would own up. If they didn't, he'd just have to get over what had happened, he'd just need to let it go. He usually did with minor things, but when it came to his maps he had a hard time letting anything that harmed them, go. At least he made a copy of the map, if he needed to, he could just borrow it from Sosuke. Right now, he wasn't in the mood for idle chit chat, he would most likely do another cleaning of the ship, even if it didn't need one. He needed something to get his mind off of the the ruined map. He was the most upset that he just fixed it and it got ruined once more, this time he couldn't even manage to try and save it. The effort he put into it went to waste, only for himself to blame. He left it out in the open, knowing something like this could happen. He scowled, taking another bite of his apple.

While in the process of watching the pelican fly out of view, Sosuke noticed a shadow in the distance. He suinted his eyes trying to look closer but couldn't very well tell what it was, outside of being a ship of course. He reached into his chest pocket within his coat and brought out a lens. He looked through it, being able to see the ship a but more clearly. Black with skull and bones. Another pirate ship. He looked out in front of him and still couldn't see land anywhere at all. Sosuke tucked the lens back into his coat and quickly started down the stairs to the deck and headed for his cabin. Now would not be the right time for getting the sleep he was hoping for. He rummaged through his things and clipped weapon to his belt. An in case measure he always took when finding another ship. If they didn't make it to land soon, then he knew they'd be in for a meeting with the other ship. He came back out of his cabin, heading towards the eating quarters. "Eyes opened men! Keep your wits about ya. Ship in bound for us in no time!" He left the room and went back the wheel, watching the other ship. And just like he predicted, the other ship was now sailing right for them.

Sidney's eyes roamed the ocean, catching sight of an approaching shadow of a ship. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Sosuke run behind him towards the stairs, that probably meant the approaching ship was an enemy one, causing him to stiffen. They hadn't had to fight an enemy ship in awhile, he wasn't sure he was prepared for the fight that was about to happen or not. The other ship was coming right for them, the reason obvious. He walked quickly to the eating quarters, finishing his apple as fast as he could. He threw it in their trash bin, returning to the upper deck, making his way over to Sosuke. He could see the ship a lot better, it was approaching fast. There was a gulping noise audible from him when he swallowed his saliva that collected in his mouth. He wasn't afraid of fighting, he was afraid of failing the crew by falling behind.

Sosuke noticed the advancing of the ship. It was faster then he had thought. "Lucky bastard, caught himself the wind's course." He heard foot steps behind him and when he looked back noticed that Sidney had found his way to his side. He heard the heavy swallowing and Sosuke instinctively placed his hand atop Sidney's head. "Don't you worry. Just stay near me and you'll be fine." He let Sidney know that there was nothing for him to worry about, so long as he stayed by Sosuke's side. It felt like days before the enemy ship came into contact, crashing straight into the side of the Jade Dragon. Every member of the crew braced themselves for the hit and just as soon as it did, prepared themselves for battle. Sosuke recalled hearing about this ship once before. An old timer, ready for retirement any day now, prided himself in raiding other ships, pirate, sailor, or government, it didnt matter to him. He looked behind him at the navigator. "Remember, stay near me."

Sidney felt himself calm down a bit, the simple gesture could quell his anger. Though it seemed to be at a bad time. The navigator furrowed his eyebrows when the other told him to just stay close and he'd be fine. There was no doubt in Sidney's mind that if he hung around Sosuke he would be safe, but then the brunette would be weighing the captain down. He just couldn't bring himself to do something so shameful, he needed to be on his own two feet. He wasn't a child anymore, he needed to stop hiding behind other people. When the ship was hit it roughly shook, but being on the sea for fourteen years, you learn to balance. He reached to draw his weapon, realizing it was not on him. The young navigator's eyes widened in terror, how could he be so reckless? He found a dagger that he kept on him at all times, but you couldn't fight so easily with a dagger like you could a sword, or at least he couldn't. It would have to make do until he could sneak out to grab his own weapon. "Aye, captain," his cheerfulness a bit more forced. He wouldn't weigh Sosuke down, no matter what.

Sosuke watched as enemy pirates boarded his ship on planks placed between the two ships. He watched as his crew members joined hand and hand combat. He hated to see his men like this, his precious family, precious home. He was going to fight to safe all of it. pirates were already running up the stairs to the deck where he and Sidney stood. Pushing Sidney behind him, Sosuke parried a sword swing with his scythe. One in each hand made it easier to swing one at a time, and with it connected to a chain he was able to swing at a further distance. More men came up the stairs, their intent clearly to take out the captain as fast as the could. Of course, Sosuke wasn't going to let that happen so easily.
