Those Little Magic Words (ideduce x AkiraVadel)

Merlin stirred a little as his hand twitched under the others. Gaius gave him a strong medicine to help him sleep. He was still very sore from the wound even if it was healed, "Arthur..."

 

His voice was soft but his name was clear rolling from those lips. If Uther were to find out this would cause serious trouble.

"Shhh.....I'm all right thanks to you." he smiled. (Psh the knights and Gwen can vouch for him. He just kissed her out joy XD)

 

He leaned closer whispering in his ear.

 

"One day, your lips will be mine." he nuzzled him once. "Sleep well." Arthur stood up.

 

(Psh and Giaus is like holy crap when did this happen XD)

Merlin sighed softly and shivered feeling Arthur's presence there. He had no idea what the other had planed. In a way he hoped to see where this was going but his destiny wasn't to be that way with Arthur. He had to bear a son.

 

Gaius stepped into the room and paused standing quiet by the door.

Arthur got up and looked to Giaus.

 

"I need to barrow your library."

 

He was going to see if he could find anything with that text to figure out what the paper said. (I'm curious XD)

Gaius cleared his throat and blushed slightly. He had seen something that he wasn't sure if that's what he saw, "you can use it to your hearts content Sire but may I ask why? I can probably narrow your search."

"......If anyone is to help me it would be Merlin.....No offence. Oh, and if father asks....I....Was....doing something else." his eyes shifted at the very poor excuse as he ducked into the library.

 

He looked through book after book trying to find writing that would match the piece of paper.

Gaius looked at Arthur and nodded his head, "of course Sire." So Arthur was clinging to Merlin like Uther clung to him... well a little bit more than them. "If you need anything let me know."

[ideduce]

"I'd only ask Merlin." he repeated and looked around. "But....Could you direct me to...The really really really old books?" he smiled at him.

Gaius looked at Arthur, "well that depends. Old legend, magic or medicine?" The older man walked up to the book area looking around at them. "Legend, magic and medicine are these three sections."

[ideduce]

"Yeah.....Don't tell my father about these books.......Ever. Why do you have them anyway?" (XD)

 

he looked up at them and started pulling them out. Looking through them.

"Uther knows I have them, their for research and how to fight against magic," Gaius raised a brow. "Thank you for trying to protect me. Are you not against magic Sire?"

[ideduce]

He froze up and looked at him.

 

"........" he wasn't sure how to answer that. "Um.....I'm not sure I trust you with my opinion." he got a little nervous now.

"Sorry Sire, it was not my place to ask," Gaius lowered his head a little. "I'm going to head to bed Sire. Good night." He turned and headed to his bed in the middle of the room.

"Gaius.....Um....I.....don't hate it. I can't afford to. I can't afford to be afraid of something because I don't understand. I......Can't....I can't judge a person like that, if I do then......How will anyone get along?....Don't tell my father.....Please." he was actually afraid, but he knew he should be able to trust him. Merlin trusted him, and he did just save Merlin's life.

Gaius turned around to face him and smiled, "that is a good way of looking at things. You'll see with that way of thinking you will make a great king. One day you will understand and don't worry your secret is safe with me." He patted Arthur on the shoulder then went to lay down.

"........You know magic don't you." his suspicion about it was pretty high now.

 

He pulled out the piece of paper.

 

"Can you tell me what this is then?"

Gaius looked over at Arthur for a moment then sighed, "I dabbled in the past..." He looked at the paper and squinted his eyes.

 

After a moment of trying to read it he grabbed his glasses and looked at the paper, "hm... this looks like an incantation. I'm not sure what kind though."

"......Got any books I'm really curious about it."

Gaius looked at Arthur for a moment, "I have... one." He swallowed hard looking very nervous. "You must promise me that this will not leave this room." He shifted uncomfortably.

[ideduce]

Arthur eyes widened like a child getting candy.

 

"Promise!" he got excited.

 

After all it was a gift from the druid leader. He wanted to know what for!

Gaius nodded his head and wondered back into Merlin's room then walked over to Arthur setting the large book down, "this covers almost everything." He hoped he wasn't making a mistake.

He sat down with the book and tried to cross reference the piece of paper!

There were references to the paper in the book. Past and future. It talks about it telling the future or possibly a healing device. The problem is most of them didn't know what it was.

"Well that's no good."

 

he looked up anything on the crystal or blue sand.

A lot of it was obscure but it finally mentioned speaking the words on the paper and using a magic spell to activate it. It didn't say what it would do just how to use it.
