Rumpleteaser Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 It's been six months since I saw Nanna. She had a heart attack four weeks ago and went into a nursing home five hours away about five days ago. She's not happy. She hates the place and it determined she won't enjoy it. It was bittersweet when I saw her today. It hurt to see this once proud, elegant and strong woman look so old and frail. She was tired, had nerve cramps every few minutes that screwed up her face with pain, her movements are slow, she needs a walker for the first time, she had trouble getting up and she was a little addled. She was so frail I felt as if I'd break her by hugging her. It hurt so much to see her like that. I don't live nearby so it might be another six months before I see her again. I love her so much. She is my rock.
