Post’s Author Opinion:
Note: This is a personal opinion, it does not reflect YaoiOtaku’s official position towards the manga.

Ahaha oh boy… Where do I even start with SM Gokko? I guess I’ll start with the facts: it’s extreme on a whole different level of what I’m accustomed to in yaoi manga. It’s graphic in more ways than one. For example, the way that the manga portrays cleaning someone out before sex… Well, I actually had to genuinely ask my (very close) friend if how this was portrayed actually happens. Nothing was necessarily “shown” when it came to this part, but it’s strong enough that you know what’s happening.

Aside from that, there’s the issue (or not issue depending on your tastes) of consent in this manga. It’s a tricky line that’s being crossed here. At first the protagonist gives full permission, but he was also rather drunk. Afterwards he vehemently denied what his partner was wanting to do, and while his partner proceeded nonetheless he also took his feelings into consideration. To an extent. Frankly, depending on how you view these types of topics you can be on either side of the fence about it. The ending, however, is not tragic or sad. Dare I say it’s loving even?

If you don’t like S&M and you’re touchy about the subject of consent then this manga is probably not one you want to check out. However, if you like strange stories and characters who are pushed to learn more about themselves and what they like, then you might want to give this one a go.
