“Well..” Persephone said as he took a moment to think. “I am usually growing flowers, making a bunch of pretty colors and patterns in the grass” He said as he mused about his home. “Mostly growing flowers. I like walking around and giving people my flowers to make people smile and brighten up their day. Flower crowns, that too. I love making flower crowns..” He said with a smile as he was making himself happy talking about flowers.

Hades liked to see the younger man happy but his expression was restrained while he listened, knowing that it was unlike for even a god of spring to grow flowers in the underworld.

-"The ones you grew in the meadow were pretty. They smelled nice too... though there were a lot of them and the scent made my eyes water." He explained and called the other to sit beside him on the bed by patting a spot beside him.

“That’s why you were crying...!” Persephone said as he had an explanation for the others tears. Just him crying over so many flowers..? Well..that seemed true...he hasn’t seen much in the way of flowers down here. Persephone was offered a seat beside him, taking the seat next to him. Perry had to roll up the sleeves a little so they didn’t hang over his hands.

Hades laughed softly, amused that the reality of the situation seemed far off from what the younger man had expected. "At first it was because of the sunlight..." He explained and straightened up again, shifting closer to the smaller god as he did so. "And I wasn't crying, my eyes were watering, there's a difference."

“Well I thought you were crying okay..?” Persephone pouted, not really noticing Hades had moved closer or at least didn’t seen to care. And he was able to laugh about what he thought happened? So he didn’t plan on purposely tricking him with his watery eyes it seemed..? It just worked in his favor.

-"I'm king of the underworld... I can't cry, don't be silly." Hades lectured the young man but his tone and playful grin gave away that he was only teasing. He considered thanking Persephone for being concerned for him but seeing how he'd lied about needing help, he doubted his gratitude would seem genuine.

-"You've probably met so many gods on the surface. Little old me must seem dull and unimpressive."

Persephone stopped pouting when Hades had mentioned meeting many gods on the surface. “Honestly no not really. My mother wanted to keep me away from the gods and keep them from corrupting me until I was older. I met Hermes once, and I think I met Apollonwhen he talked to my mother once” Persephone tried to remember any gods that he has met. “Mother would then probably take me to a party and then I’d be formally introduced. She is very protective of me..” Persephone said as he looked skyward.

Persephone listed the names and Hades became serious, remembering the two men and all of the gods. There weren't many who thought of him fondly and now that he'd stolen one of them and dragged him to the underworld it was unlikely anyone would stand for him.

Deathly quiet, Hades watched the young man and even knowing the trouble he'd put himself in he couldn't regret taking him. Reluctant at first, he leaned closer and pressed a gentle kiss against his cheek before standing up and taking the sword to it's place in another room, pretending nothing had happened.

Persephone would have said more but he noticed the other leaning in. Wondering what he was doing, he looked at him from the corner of his eye. His eyes widened when he felt Hades press his lips against his cheek in a kiss before leaving the room..? What..just happened...? He thought as his face turned a bright red. Was that some sort of greeting or something? He had no explanation as he went back to his room when Hades has left.

An empty room awaited Hades when he returned and his lips set into a frown, his first thought being that he'd gone too far and scared the younger man off when he'd just earn a grain of his trust. He was furious but knowing the other man was a wall away kept him from yelling angrily at himself. In stead he walked across to his bed and sat back down where he'd been a moment ago, one hand coming through his hair to pull it back while he breathed a deep sigh to calm himself.

Persephone had a hand to ha cheek for finally dropping it down. He laid back on his bed and wondered what he was supposed to do now? He was stuck down here! No plants..no life..no...nothing. He looked around the room out of being bored, humming softly to himselff

Knowing there was nothing he could do at that moment to set things right between him and the other god, Hades looked for something to occupy his mind and remembered the clothes they'd both discarded. He gathered everything and took it to the bathroom, still upset and frowning to himself. There were no servants in the palace and even before he'd been sent to rule the underworld he'd always cleaned his own things. He'd never thought anything of it before but now, doing it for someone else, he felt oddly domestic and silly.

Soon their shirts were clean and free of the dead man's blood, however Hades still couldn't think of anything else than the other man and how he'd rejected his small advance. His only other idea to calm himself was to go out and manage the city however he first had to make sure his guest wouldn't run into trouble again.

Standing at the door of Persephone's room, he was reluctant to say anything, having come in only to make sure the other man really was inside. "I'm sorry... about before. You should rest, I wont bother you again." He assured the pink haired man with a nod, stepped out into the hallway and locked him away.

Persephone picked up his head when he heard Hades step into the doorway. So the kiss wasn’t normal then..He thought to himself as Hades had apologized. It was weird to hear an apology for his behavior. Persephone watched him leave and heard a click of the door. He..locked me in...he just locked me in! Persephone still tested the door, groaning and slid to the floor. After pacing around a while, he fell to the bed and fell asleep. There was nothing else to do...

There was little Hades couldn't get done from his throne, simply by handing out orders or directing the dead with his powers, however he had the need to be away from the palace now and hurried past the grand hall and court yard and took off into the city. This time he went unarmed but unworried that anything bad would happen to him. All of his fears were still centered around the younger god, if he would find a way to escape again but also if he was upset for having been locked up. Hades still had these thoughts weighing him down while he talked to the merchants, spirits who collected things forgotten across the underworld and traded them for anything of greater value.

Persephone was sitting in the field in my dreams, weaving flower crowns with a smile to himself. Suddenly there was this prescient that he could not distinguish who it was but it seems..happy. It seems to make him happy as well as he was smiling at this figure in the dream. He set the flower crown on the figures head before suddenly waking up. Another weird dream..Persephone thought as he breathed heavily.

Hades supervised the market, inquired about what new things arrived with the deceased in the previous days and with the other god still on his mind, looked for clothes smaller than his own. Many of the things on display were junk, torn, ruined and rusted, but being the king Hades was offered the gems the merchants kept hidden away from the common spirits who passed through. Hours later when he'd had enough of the thieves trying to run off with handfuls of goods he started to walk back to the palace, a bundle of clothes packed and tucked under his arm.

Persephone got up, needing to reroll the overly Large sleeves of Hades shirt. He had a piece of his mind to give to Hades when he got back for locking him up like he was a prisoner. He finally heard the door open when Hades finally came in, turning away from him. “You locked me up..I’m no prisoner..” He mumbles, crossing his arms. He hated being trapped like a cage bird, regardless of if it meant his escape or not.

Hades hadn't hoped for a warm greeting from the younger man but it still saddened him to see Persephone turn his back on him like he had on the boat. He wouldn't say it out loud, but in many ways the other god was a prisoner and he suspected they both knew it. However Hades didn't want the other to be unhappy and thought of ways to remedy the situation.

-"I was going far from the palace... I just wanted to make sure you wouldn't put yourself in danger like earlier." He explained as he walked closer to the younger man. "I'll think of a different way to keep you safe next time. For now I got you clothes like I promised." he offered a small smile along with the package of clothes.

Persephone tried to remain angry, but he heard that he had gone to get clothes from him. He turned back around and noticed that he did indeed go get clothes for him. He didn’t have to do that..and he still did. “Thanks..” He said quietly, extending his arms out to take the package. He went into the bathroom to change, coming back out so he could give Hades his clothes back.

Hades couldn't conclude from just one word if the younger god had forgiven him, or if he was welcome to stay, however he pushed his luck and waited for Persephone to return. He stood awkwardly in the middle of the room but didn't have to wait long before the other man appeared again in the new clothes. It pleased Hades to see they fit but a small frown formed on his face when his shirt and blazer were handed back quietly.

-"I'll bring you your old things too once they're dry." He informed with a sigh and headed outside.

Persephone tilted his head, wondering why the man seemed so upset over getting his clothes back. He couldn't keep the others clothes, it would make no sense. And surely someone would want their clothes back right? Persephone followed the other, curious as to where he was going. "Is there soil down here..?" He asked after a few moments of silence. He tried to get himself back the other locking the door, knowing he was going to have a hard enough time being down here as it is. He didnt want to make it any harder on himself.

Hades halted and turned to face the younger man again, quiet while he tried to recall if any part of the underworld that was softer and more nourishing than stone. He suspected he knew what the other god was planing. "Most of the ground here is hard, a bit like the entire city was carved into a cliff side... There is also plenty of mud around some of the rivers. Soil like in the forest is hard to come by, but it exists."

“But there is something...?” Persephone asked, glad to hear there was at least mud around the rivers. Not the ideal for flowers but he wanted to at least try! He felt lonely down here without any plants and wanted to try something...anything...! “Can you escort me to the river...? I...don’t want to get lost again...” He said quietly, trying not to remember the one spirits touches last time he got lost.

The request caught Hades off guard but he nodded enthusiastically at the younger god, his mood somewhat improved now that he was invited to spend more time with his guest. "Of course." It went unspoken but there was an understanding between them now and Hades felt more confident that the other man wouldn't put himself in danger again. "It's not far. Would you like us to go now?"

“Yes...” Persephone said with a firm nod, quickly adding “Please” to his previous statement. He may have been taken here by force but he did not want to be rude. Hades did save him from a..unsavory character so he at least deserves a please. He found the river bed after a short time of walking, kneeling down in the mud. Come on..grow..please...Persephone said as he put his hands over a patch of mud. A cluster of mushrooms grew, thankful for the life he created but he really wanted a flower. The river bed started to line up with more and more mushrooms as he kept trying. Eventually his efforts got him one line skinny hydrangea. “I..I made a flower...I made a flower...!” Persephone said happily, giggling like a mad man.
