XD First, love is a mix of substances (not only one) our body produces. Nothing is simple when i comes to love. But yes, scientist often include love into the process of reproduction, making sure that the descendant you leave behind, is most suitable to survive. That's how evolution works. So basically, you fall in love with someone your body judges as the best match for you to mate with, making you want only them and work into the direction of babies. \O/ Lol, I find explaining this so funny. XD But..to come to love you have to take into consideration all of the behaviour patterns and senses and all. It's kind of complicated. O.O You don't need to like the theories, but there are a lot of them and researches are made. But basically, if someone falls in love with you, it means that you are the best choice for making babies that are more evolved. XD Isn't that an ego boost? Well..I thought you just dismissed my arguments like you did the ones about math and numbers. XD I'm still proud of that one btw. :3 Well..this is just kind of a short version, you should research on it if the subject interests you, seeing how I'm no expert when it comes to love. XD Also, different sciences have different answers on what love is. As does religion. No, of course you don't have to accept it, I don't accept it completely to be honest, I just explained what I learned for the sake of the debate. XD For the hole..I kind of took a perspective of neuroscience, with the whole chemical reactions in your body thingie right? But if that would be true, that love is only there so we will be sure to reproduce, then what about gays? Or lesbians for that matter.. But then again, people are social beings so there could be reasoning that we only want someone to give us care we need, so then the gender doesn't matter..but that is a whole new debate there. Also, science explains lust with chemical substances in our bodies too so..we're back at the beginning. XD I would actually love to speak to an expert on this subject, because I have so many questions. Oh and I mentioned this too right?
