For characteristics....Most of my characters, regardless of position are mostly the serious no nonsense types. Time travel as in the characters are able to warp at will? Or do they warp by accident? If it's the latter, I would suggest a modern salaryman or somewhere along those lines travel to the past by accident. And maybe, some of our characters are already people of the past. It will be like 1. he was supposed to be on a business trip? Or supposedly hired for a foreign company but plane crashed towards a timehole ends up on the same timeline but different dimension(like a parallel world) meets the people who he knew but doesnt know him and finds one of his coworkers in the same company but different position in the company. LOL 2. Gets on a flight for gettung fired then the timehole episode ends up being the boss in the parallel world. 3. Airplane lands on the same timeline but ends up being in a relationship with the person he hated and the one he lobed no longer knows him. (This is a tricky one) 4.... ?
