A live-action adaptation of Osamu Tezuka’s mature manga masterpiece MW (pronounced ‘moo’ like a cow), created to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Tezuka.

 

S U M M A R Y:

Gurai is a Japanese Catholic Priest, who is unable to give up his lifelong sexual relationship with Yuki, a beautiful and sadistic young master criminal. Yuki’s malicious crimes have become more and more extreme over the years, claiming many innocent lives, and Gurai is tormented by guilt at his inability to stop them…

I have never heard of this too. *O* Osamu Tezuka is one of the earlist mangaka in Japan right? Like you know, the mangaka of Astro Boy? XDDDD Correct me if i'm wrong XD

I must watch this film. Indeed I never heard of it. Because it isn't classified as yaoi.... SEE, that's why I love these stuff. Movies that doesn't necessarily focus on love or relationship but has some yaoi/shonen ai components... just like the mainstreamed films with a girl involved. There's always some romance in even fully action-packed films, right??? Usually straight couple.

I am not so sure..I lil bit forget about the story in details, i only remember the actors. I forgot his name, but he played in Waterboys right?! And Tamaki Hiroshi if i am not wrong..

 

I watched it in cinema here in Jakarta, there was a film festival from around the world and one of them was this movie. There're other actors from Thailand too played in this movie. I only remember the movie is great, but as far as i remember, there're not so many BL scenes i think..

There's no shounen ai at all. But you could tell that the priest has some issues with himself.

Besides I already paired them up in my head. HEHE..

 

Anyway, The movie wasn't too bad. I liked it.

 

There's action. The actors- their acting were great!

However, the dialogues were weak, so weak that you have to find the hidden meanings. The person who played the priest is Yamada Takayuki. [Yea he was in waterboys- but i never saw it] He did very, very good job doing his part, but his 'faith' is largely ignored.

But the priest gotta be the biggest pussy I've ever seen on the screen.

WOW, can't even punch for shit to save the world. LOL!

 

My favorite line was...this criminal mastermind was fighting verbally with the priest on the boat and of course, pissed and frustrated... he just threw the priest out into the water without effort. And he said "I... I dropped my favorite toy." He sure did. and carried on like nobody's business.

 

 

 

 

And I don't understand the ending.

Would've been epic ending. So... this movie wasn't about faith. As long as the government continue to cover up its BS, there always will be someone around to expose the truth.

When I browsed one of our local forum (Indonesian's forum), the inform us about other movie of MW..MW Chapter 0 - Akuma no Game. The drama is set several months before the actual story in Tezuka's manga (MW 2009). The main character is the same as MV movie - Tamaki Hiroshi and there's Sato Takeru too..I think is not BL..

I never read the manga though. I thought this movie was easy to understand, there's not much to be lost.

Maybe that's why the dialogues seemed weak to me... because you'd have to know the manga too!

I found seven parts to it on some asian drama site.

How confusing. Its official site shows its a TV show but the movie is after.
