amisis Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 botch Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. ~ @amisis there's no vowel on your word "nymph" xD sorry just noticed it ^_^ scroll thankyou, you know i thought the same thing after i decided to post that word. but where i'm from US there a sub-rule if you will says:vowels are AEIOU & sometimes Y when there are only consonents. However,there are conflicting answers for "y" as a vowel. i also read that in other languages, such as French it is [/i considered a vowel. a wiki Answer: Y is considered as a vowel in words with no other vowels such as cry, fly, by, fry, lynx, SYZYGY(the alignment of planets)etc. Y is considered consonent when the word has other vowels such as you, way, day, etc. since i always look @ not just one, but many sources to look for an answer to check for credibility, & the answers were about 2/3 for & 1/3 against i can't confidently say its true. i just remembered the 'rule' from back in elementary school^^ & it seems liked its been fudged a bit. again,thankyou Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. ^w^
