Both but you can find awesome storyline in other mangas/anime..hot sex scenes on the other hand..not so much xD so yeah, the main reason i like yaoi so much is definitely the sex

I like both...the first one I've read that brought me to this beautiful world was a shounen-ai, Only the ring finger knows. It had no smexy love making but I loved the storyline so I got addicted. Then, my next was Brother by Ougi Yuzuha which had mind-blowing sizzling love making, courtesy of my very closed friend...thank u and love u...imagine my reaction seeing that coming from shounen-ai...nosebleed to the max but loved it...lol

it's easy for me to find stuff to get off to. but a story with complex characters, or a compelling plot, or both? that's such a rarer find, and i treasure them more. porn is less gratifying to me, also.

because when you read a manga/novel/anime of this genre wth only sex, you end up not liking it at all. and when you find some with not explicit scenes and good plot; at the end you do't mind that. ad of course i would tell that the good characters are as much important as the plot, (complex no matter the way the are) even more in my case, of course you end up wanting to see at least a kiss. and i am fine with that, good plot! good characters please!

The storyline in yaoi is most of the time stereotypical,full of jealousy or sweetness or both,at least one mental illness or phobia or both. Of course,there are some exceptions,but I'm more for sex. Superficial me...

I like yaoi for both reasons. I originally got into it because I liked male main characters and same sex romances, and yaoi has both. But some of the storylines in yaoi are amazing, also the characters, artwork (and sex too).

Hmmn, I like them because of the content. It gives them more depth to their character; hot lovemaking scenes are an added bonus. And if the story is drawn really well, all the more! Those PWP bl/yaoi mangas bores me to the point where I stop halfway, kinda feels like you're looking at an uninteresting blank paper.

The best answer I can give is yes. It was a good story that got me started, but the steamy sexiness keeps me coming back for more! I don't require both to be there (though it's obviously preferred), but at least one of them does need to be present. Stay true to both my roots and my... carnal desires...
