A Tamer's Rule

Alone once again.. In all honesty Xirre has had enough times of being secluded while younger but this would be no different. His owner had abandoned him and now Duke of Luxor pet has abandoned him. There was no one to conversate to. Was there anyone at least willing to stay for the rest of the dark haired male's life. That couldn't be expected an answer yet. Maybe the brunette would find his significant other out here. It could just be destined that the cat was abandoned by Luim. Truthfully Xirre was just trying to cheer himself. The neko had never though of fate in his life, he didn't believe it in the least.

Standing a shiver rushed through his body as he pulled the rags closer to his body. If anything the man would freeze out here. Also, humans were such cruel creatures. There was none that would take him in and treat him the way his later owner did. Accepting that Luim wasn't returning he just stood in the wind. Not moving. Like a stop sign. Well...that would move if someone hit it, he thought.

Finally deciding to move he walked forward. the same direction that the other has disappeared down. The trail was littered with shoe prints, small frost littering the ground in certain areas. Glancing at the small puddles along the way Xirre groaned. Why did this have to even happen? It was all just hell to the cat. The brunette actually had a hatred against wet, cold things and being trapped outside wasn't really sanctuary. This was hell...well to Xirre anyways. Hell wasn't really cold.

Dropping to his knees on the outside of a building he curled into a ball to protect himself from the chilly winds, unknown to the male that he was now in front of an inn. Not that he would have the money for it anyways.

The Neko immediately positioned himself at the bed. He pushed his body under the comfy bed sheets. Cadis was just moments away, reminiscing the events that happened earlier. Brows furrowed he kept staring at the ceiling above him. He wanted to sleep but can't. Rolling over the sheets, trying to find the most comfortable spot, was out of the option.

He straightened his back in a sitting position and remembered the fact that had stricken inside his mind. He was still famished, he haven't eaten because of that Neko guy. Cadis remembered placing his food atop that seat where that Neko was eating. He surveyed his room and found no food. He really had left it there, what a waste.

It's almost midnight, he decided to go to a 24/7 convenient shop. He barely tiptoed as the poor wooden floor creaked slowly. Since it's a cheap inn, its walls were thin, even your breathing might be heard by your neighbors. Finally arriving at the ground floor, he was then welcomed by the tenant's sleeping face, facing down at the table. She was snoring and was having a good slumber. Feared that he might woke her up, he securely opened the door slowly and closing it back afterwards.

Landed a few steps away from the door, he suddenly stumbled at a certain foreign subject. He never realized that there was an impediment in there. Looking back, he saw a body curling up, shivering poorly at the coldest temperature of the ground. What a poor sight to see, Cadis thought.

"hey-- hey---" he shrugged the curled body waking the other up.

The bed was so warm and comfy, sheets being oversized with an electrical wire roaming throughout it. Plugging the cord into the socket, heat seeped through the opening of the the blanket. Xirre felt like he was occupying space in heaven, the cold no longer bothering him as he snuggled closer to the pillow. Luim had came back to him that morning with open hands, a sniffling nose and streams of tears. The man best be glad that the cat even forgave him.

"It was cruel of you to leave me you know." the brunette told him while enjoying the heat circulating through the wired blanket. The male guessed that he could forgive his owner he did ,after all, come back for him.

"You know that it was all just to teach you a resonable lesson." the raven haired man explained his black eyes showing honesty, though it didn't stop the frown from appearing on Xirre's face.

"I'm just glad to be ba-"

With a jerk the cat woke up a shiver running through his body. Someone was telling him to get up, pushing and pulling him slightly. Sitting up red eyes clashed against familiar orbs. Eyes widening Xirre stood brushing off the small amount of frost that clung to his pants. This was at least one thing that he could thank the other for. If the dark haired male had stayed there all night he might would have froze to death. Staring at the other he kept silent. It wasn't as if the other would stick around long enough anyways, right?

Then again, like a repeating clockwork, he saw that Neko with an eye-patch. He was kept puzzled for a second thinking that he might be following him. But it was not possible. If it was, he could've pounded on the door and make another scene. But there's none, so to speak, it's merely a coincidence.

He started to march along, ignoring him. But his eyes was trapped by this scenario right in front of him. His heart continuously pumping in pain. Again, his Samaritan schemes had started to sink in. The blond turned around and knelt in front of the shivering cat. Cadis placed his warm hands above the other's head, ruffling him slightly.

"I deeply apologize." his downcast eyes were gazing emptily.

"Your skin's cold. If you don't mind you can share a room with me. It's not a huge room but you can still lay at the couch. Well if you don't mind of course."

His smiles weren't visible, he's trying to communicate with the Neko in front of him. They're of the same race so he decided to help the troubled male. What was the point of helping a stray Cat that caused him nothing but trouble? Anyways, Cadis felt the urge that was pushing him to help the eye-patch Neko.

Xirre glanced up to the other. He was ruffling his hair as his master always did. Then what shocked the brunette more was that the other neko had actually offered to share a room with him? A nice warm room with covers and blankets an- calm yourself Xirre. Just tell the guy thanks and accept the offer. Looking to the blonde he smiled.

"I do accept. Thank you for helping me when all I've done was embarrass you." though it was one thing on the neko's mind. Why in the hell was the famed pet without the Duke of Luxor? Wouldn't he get in an awful amount of trouble staying back in the city like this? The brunette was going to ask but decided against it. It wasn't really any of his business. The other male didn't own him anything. If that was even intact he owed the blonde not vice versa.

Standing he shivered to follow the blonde wherever he was off to. Had he found an inn? Where did the blond come from anyways? Xirre was glad that the male had turned around for him he could see that the other was about to walk away from him as he'd done before. Eyes roaming around he looked after the other. Where exactly was he going?

Cadis roamed free as he immediately left the eye-patch Neko at the inn. He wasted a minute of a trip and landed on a convenience store. Strikingly, the foods that were displayed in there were new to him. It's foreign food, he thought, though it might not be foreign in reality.

He grabbed a bag of chips, that caught his eye more than the rest. It was shockingly cheap as his eyes widened at the cash register. Afterwards, he went outside buying two of those strange bag of chips.

"Why are you here? You should've stayed inside the Inn." As he saw the Cat trailing at him, Cadis hurriedly ran over at him. The dark-haired cat should rest at the inn for a while, they had couches on the ground floor. But then reality awoken him, he almost forgot that he'd never advised him to stay. Giving an exasperating sigh, they returned back to the inn.

"Make yourself comfortable," Cadis ushered his guest to his room. He settled down at the table while closely observing the item he'd bought at the store.

--How am I going to eat this? Is this some new pasta?--or it still needs to be fried? Couple of questions in his head...

The brunette was now welcomed into the warm room that the other was staying for the night. Eyes roaming he slipped one of the covers from the bed to spread on the couch. Quickly jumping onto the couch he wrapped himself in the large blanket. This feel soooooo gooooood the neko purred to himself. He couldn't think of how to thank the man enough for even offering him to stay.

At a rattle the dark haired cat looked up. What was the blond doing? He seemed to be staring at something....no it was more like studying it. Lifting a little he tried to see what it was. At the image the brunette laughed so the other didn't seem to know what chips were. Well due to his owner buying them all the time for himself, Xirre had been introduced to them already. They were actually pretty good and it was so cool how they came in various flavors. Though the pierced neko didn't like the red ones....they were so spicy.

"You know...those items are called chips. They could be eaten as they are. No need to cook them." he told the blonde. It's the least he could do seeing as the man was helping him. The information he gave was not as near as much as the famed pet was doing for him. He had actually saved Xirre's life. Who know how long he would have lived out there.

He felt at eased when the dark-haired male noticed about his dilemma about the bag of chips. "Thank you," he turned his head to the direction at the couch. It took him quite a while, shaking the bag as he noticed there's something inside. He popped it open on the mid-center, the bits scattered a bit at the table, some even splattered on his face. Cadis tasted a few and was delighted by the outcome, it was delicious. A taste that he'd never know despite his adult age.

He stayed still at the wooden chair and pushed chip-by-chip inside his mouth. He even plan buying boxes of it, since it wasn't that expensive. He could start spending money wisely.

His attention was back to the Neko at the couch. He wanted to ask about the Tournament yet was taken aback since he might be his enemy. And he doesn't want Cadis to ask him. He rolled his eyes back at the chips until he consumed the all of it.

He gargled a bit of water and went to the bed with his stomach full. His chin snuggled at the comfortable bed as his tail kept on wagging. His back facing at the Neko's as he was staring at the wall. He had lot's of questions in stored in his head but he kept silent just for them to rest for that day. He decided to ask the questions tomorrow, condemning them inside his head.

The brunette watched as the other ripped open the chip in a clueless way. He kept from chuckling as the sauce from the chips scattered across his face. Closing his eyes the cat enjoyed the small munch noises coming from the Duke's pet. The dark haired male wanted to ask the other why was he not with his owner but decide against it. The man didn't want to offend the other in any way, that was his business and not Xirre's.

Pulling the comforters closer he snuggled into the blankets. It felt better than being outside that was for sure. Sighing softly he blinked his eyes open to stare at the other as he crawled into bed turning his back toward him. I guess the guy isn't as bad as I though. He seems to be a noble man. To even take me in.....that was nice. Smiling softly he also turned placing his face in the seam of the couch.

In all honesty his bed could be more comfortable he already missed being home. If Xirre had declined to go along with his master to the colosseum he would have been there now. The noise would be at a peceful level instead of the charades of antic the city folk caused. The sound of nature was much better than a beeping car, well any noise in the case. Groaning the brunette managed to fall asleep.

He heard the eye-patched Neko chuckling at his actions but Cadis preferred to ignore it. He badly wanted some rest, washing all his wearies away. The male closed his eyes and unconsciously visited the dreamland. He never had particular dreams no matter how attached he was to certain things. His dreams composed of nothing but darkness, a continuous fog inside a huge black tiled room. They said that once you've seen your own image in your dreams--you'll die. Not Cadis, his dreams were always with the 'other' him, as if it was communicating with him.

--surrender the word echoed inside his mind as he opened his eyes, wide awake.

Blinking a couple of times, he felt his heart calmed down. He hated those vague dreams, those weird encounters. He sat and leaned at the bed's headboard. he saw the other male snoring comfortably at the couch. Afraid of facing another weird dream, Cadis forcefully heaved himself to motion, waking up earlier like the usual.

"Give a round of applause to Xirre. Our new legend neko. He has made it very far...letting no cause slow him down." the crowd cheered at the brunette walked upon stage. He had actually done? He had beat the famed cat finally? That was a relief he was more than estatic. The blond began to approach him bowing to him. The dark haired male eyes widened as the other showed him praise. The Duke of Luxor pet was praising him. How ni-.

Opening his eyes the brunette looked up vision assaulted by brown fabric. Twisting on the house he looked to the right and seen the other sitting up. The male seemed to be thinking of something. Lifting from the cover he decided to ask the other what was wrong. It's the least he could do after taking him in.

"Um... Excuse me...are you ok?" Xirre asked, though what he wanted to know more was the other's name. It couldn't hurt to ask that could he? "I'm Xirre by the way. Care to give me your name?"

Cadis then noticed that the Neko was wide awake, he snapped from that moment and twist his head towards the other's direction. "I'm fine--" he abruptly replied as he pulled a smile. He might make the Neko concerned on his health. But he really was fine, its just he probably woke up on the wrong side of the bed. He pulled himself from the comfortable bed and went nearer to the couch. Stretching with all his might, Cadis opened the windows above the couch where the other male was idly laying.

The eye-patched Neko finally broke the ice and initiated to converse with him. Well Cadis wasn't that talkative since from the beginning. People might thought he was really a boring pet. He even rarely talks inside the Duke's house. Speaking of the Duke, it's his first day rising on the bed without his master, Richards. He felt empty but he couldn't do anything about it. He needed to move forward and think straight.

"I'm Cadis, pleasure to meet you," he reached his hands to the other, giving pleasantries. Only his master can call him Zei , even in the family register, he was named Cadis Ashenbert. He missed being called Zei but for strangers, Cadis would suffice.

Taking the other's hand he shook it firmly. Finally he had learned of the pet's name. Cadis... the brunette shivered a little from the breeze that flew through the window opened above him. Pulling the blankets closer to his body he snuggled more to the edge of the couch to avoid said wind. Looking toward the blond he studied him for a little. There was just something about him that didn't seem right.

Shaking that thought from his head he yawned he had a decent test last night. He was comfortable, though maybe that was due to the fact that he was in the harsh temperature yesterday. Now the sofa wasn't as comfortable as it was before. He looked around until his stomach growled. Xirre was hungry but had no money. The brunette couldn't eat even if he wanted to....like said before Luim had left him nothing. Nothing at all.

A tint of red marring his cheeks he averted his eyes to the ground. Even though he had shelter he would die from hunger. Now thinking of it the brunette wasn't even sure if he would be plowed to stay her anymore. He really needed the Duke's acceptance or he wouldn't survive. The dark haired male wasn't ready to survive all on his own. Not at all. A sad gleam clouded his eyes. He was fucked....as his master would say.

"Let's go," Cadis stated as he immediately opened the door and went downstairs. He bet that Xirre was hungry, of course, since he was hungry too. Though his vague directions might cause the other's confusion, Cadis hope that the male will get used to it.

From the looks of it, he was all alone. He didn't want to ask for the complicated details. While analyzing the situation earlier, Cadis concluded that Xirre's master was away. If Xirre's master was there, he could've left the place, but seeing him trailing at Cadis, the male concluded that they'll be sticking for a little longer. Cadis dared not explain complicated things, Xirre was a grown man, so he should be fine. Feeling that the other still needs his master assistance, Cadis will fill the part as Xirre's companion.

The two of them were in front of a French bakeshop. People were patiently waiting in line, getting their daily doze of bread." You should reserve the both of us some seats. So what do you like?" These were the first times that he'd strained his voice in longer conversations. His master had done all the asking before and besides he was an obedient pet afraid of raising questions of even talking back at Richards. But now, he needed to guide this lost soul.

At an abrupt demand to follow Xirre stood from the blanket nearly tripping as he quickly followed after the blond pet. The Duke of Luxor wasn't around it seemed but for what reason? Did he actually just let the latter roam around as he pleased? To come home whenever he deemed fit? That was strange for such a man with high power. For a man with such a demanding demeanor. Closely following the cat he was confused of where they were headed. This was the dark haired man's first time in the city all by himself. Let alone in this part of the district he had only gone as far as the colosseum.

A sweet scent assaulted his nose as he viewed what looked to be a eating place. Due to the words on the outside Xirre placed it with French. Entering the building after Cadis he stood in line behind the neko. Not knowing exactly what to do the famed male told him that he should reserve a table for him, though not before asking him his preference of food.

"I am not familiar with the foods they sell here, but I'm willing to try anything you choose." the brunette informed before walking to sit at an empty table beside a stero playing soft classical music.

Cadis had stared at the male, thinking that it was best for him to choose his food. He really wasn't a connoisseur, it's hard to choose some food. "I think--er two three french bread please and a cup of black coffee and a mocha." Handing the ever reliable card to the cashier.

Cadis returned to Xirre's table. The male wanted to act chummy and all nice but if this might lead to his master's misunderstanding then he better not to. He knew his master had ordered someone to supervise him behind the shadows. The blond turned his head at the tinted vehicle at the opposite block, he was sure it was his master's guards. Cadis felt nervous, he knew his master was a possessive person. He was even prohibited to talk casually to females in their manor. But Xirre's a male, he's fine, at least that was Cadis' thinking. But there's no harm in increasing his guard, he displayed no topic for the both of them to create. His companion had started to notice his weird acts. But it's still better not to anger the Duke, as Cadis calmly sipped his coffee still glancing at the vehicle.

--leave please. He wished as the vehicle was still rooted at the site. Staring back at the neko, he almost jumped out from the seat. The male had suddenly touched his forehead, now this is bad, really bad. "I'm fine don't sweat it--" as Cadis tried to act natural. "Let's go to another place," he smiled at Xirre as he stood and left the place immediately. He needed to shake the guards.

The brunette watched the other as he began to act as if something was wrong. Go somewhere else? They hadn't even ate yet...let alone why would they go back into the cold when the shop was yet so warm. Though he wouldn't argue with the other seeing as he was feeding off of him. Sighing softly the dark haired male stood to follow the famed pet out of the building.

Xirre continued to follow the other not knowing the direction of which they were going. He was completely lost without Cadis. This was ridiculous on his part. Following someone that owed him completely nothing. He was basically taking advantage of the other and he felt terrible for it but if he didn't he would most certainly would die. The brunette didn't want to leave just yet.

As the cold shook Xirre to the core he heard a slow roll of wheels and glances back. A tinted black vehicle was slowly trailing them....well maybe it wasn't following them, but why was it not driving around them. "Um...I think that someone maybe following us." the brunette informed once again looking back at the moving car. Hm...what the hell was going on.

"That I know---" he immediately grabbed Xirre at the dark alley and waited for the car to pass through them. The narrow space, barely holding the two of them together. He could feel the panting of his breath as his sweat ran down to his neckline. His eyes were still looking at the road. The both of them still holding their food. He was tightly gripping at Xirre and showed him a sign to keep quiet for a bit.

Seeing the car passed by slowly, Cadis felt that a thorn was removed from his chest. Will his master be angry? He really did shook them off. It's like he was betraying his master's orders. Even in the outside world, he could feel his shackles tightening around his neck. The blond slightly touched his neck, securing that there wasn't any, reaffirming it all over again.

"I'm sorry for the trouble--" he immediately removed his hands from Xirre's shoulders. The Neko went outside the alley. The pursuit was already over and they should find a place where he can't be recognize. He tightly secured his cap above his head. Eyes like an eagle, Cadis was attentive to his surroundings.

At his explanation Cadis confirmed that he knew and pulled him inside an alley. It was cramped and he had to turn his head to the side to avoid injuries from the dirty wall in front of him. Groaning he felt the grip that the blond had on him tighten. OK be quiet...I get it. The brunette thought. The bigger problem here was whoever occupied the space in that dark vehicle. What exactly did they want?

Luim always told the pierced cat that the city was filled with thieves who would snatch up anything for some cash. Maybe those were thieves? Thieves that would kidnap him and Cadis to sell to some death tournament or something. That's ridiculous. Do I really believe that? Well...it could happen his master always told him these possibilities Xirre would listen to his procedures just for saftey tips.

After the dark vehicle creeped by he stayed as quiet as he could watching them as they disappeared from their sights. At that Cadis seemed to grab at his throat....maybe he was frighten feeling for his pulse to check his heart rate. The brunette was suddenly pulled from the hiding space and after the blonde once again. Now where were they going? Xirre just wanted to sit and enjoy the meal the other had bought him but it seemed that, that would have to wait. "Where exactly are we going? Our food will get cold and be less enjoyable." The dark haired cat wasn't up for any high tail chasing.. Or any running activity of any kind, his stomach couldn't take it. To get the other full attention he reached to grab the collar of his shirt. Looking into Cadis's eyes.

"Are you sure your ok?" a worried expression grazing Xirre's face.

"Ah ye-yes the food---" He almost forgot the he was bringing with him a bag of food. It wasn't the right time to be sumptuously eating and enjoying their meal. But if Xirre wanted to eat then he should join the other male. He did not wished for him to get involved. But if he leaves him he'll be homeless. And why was that his concern in the first place??? All those questions were just flying in his head, brows furrowed , Cadis didn't want to deal with all these messy problem anymore.

Closing his eyes, breath heavily, "I'm fine." Those reassuring words seemed so suspicious. He couldn't even distinguish his safety or his condition anymore, stress was starting to pile inside his head. That wasn't supposed to be the idea since he'll join the tournament. He should be there with all his condition and focus.

They arrived at the nearby park and Cadis sat at the bench, with his ankles crossed. He grabbed the bread as he munched quietly. He's an adult, he needed to make a decision, as fast as he could. And without relying to his master for a while. How he wished he could just swung open the manor's gates and beg to his master to stay with him.

Xirre watched Cadis's expression. As it always seemed the famed pet was troubled. The brunette knew that the other was a little stressed due to him relying on the other. Relying solely on him, though he didn't want to he had no other choice. If the famed pet wasn't here there would be no way that he could survive the brunette would most certainly be hungry, cold and without shelter. Eventually that would lead to death.

Looking to the other cat not to far from him Xirre frowned also. "I apologize. I really don't want to cause you any trouble but if you weren't here to help me I'd be... Possible dead -and I know that isn't your problem." he added quickly. "but I need help." his reddish eyes held misery and disappointment. He was a shame of himself. He was a man for heaven's sake. He should learn to survive on his own.

Slowly biting into the bread he hummed in delight. It was still warm from being lightly wrapped in plastic. The sweet taste was unbearable almost. Enough to satisfy his quench for hunger. Biting into the bread again he took a sip of the drink Cadis had bought for him. The warm liquid soothing his body. What a relief.

"You don't have to apologize," He reassured the worried Neko while staring at him. The latter gave him the "don't throw me" vibes. Though they were of the same breed, Xirre wasn't used to this. He wasn't used being cast aside as what Cadis had observed at his actions. Though Cadis on the other hand, had felt it countless of times. Add the times that he wasn't paying much attention to his master when he wasn't in the mood. During his younger years was even worse, it was his rebellious phase and even his master couldn't stop him.

He glanced back at the Cat as his mood drastically changed. That was the first time he saw someone's mood from sad to happy. It might be sudden for him, it's a good sign that Xirre had a positive outlook in life. "Xirre," he announced his name, as his ears straightened.

"Are you also a competitor at the tournament?" His eyes staring at the Neko. Cadis really hope that Xirre had some information regarding the tournament since the preliminaries were only the time where the tournament game was properly explained, the rest were properly disclosed. Even the former player's shared no information regarding the tournament. It's a little fishy for Cadis for them to keep their mouth shut about it. Was the tournament that dangerous?

His ears perched as his name was called looking up to the source. This was the first time- no second the other was starting a conversation. The question that was asked from his mouth confused the brunette. Did the other not know of the tournaments? That was crazy... did that mean that yesterday was the other's first time ever entering yet alone hearing of it? How old was Cadis to be exact, he looked to be grown.

"Uh... The tournaments....Yes I do compete. Was yesterday possible your first time?" looking into the orbs of Cadis. This guy was of royalty right...with a Duke as his master. Then it must have been his first time. He would soon compete with the one who had saved him from death's hands.

Biting another piece of the bread he glanced to the other again before rewrapping his food to stand. "We could go if you'd like." the brunette was waiting to see what the other would say. "About yesterday...I again apologize, but the way that you went about things wasn't fair. Though I apologize because it had nothing to do with me. You could have won it fair and square you are beautiful enough." Xirre confessed. The cat thought that Cadis was really attractive and just maybe the crowd could have been screaming for that in general.

"Yes, yesterday was my first time and I was kind of nervous. I really was. And yeah it's fine you don't have to worry since it had already happen." The words which were so hard to speak came like a rushing water. Cadis was shocked at himself, whenever he's with Xirre, he could talk--really lot. Way too many words than talking to his master. It's like he's enjoying his company, completely. Plus the male was entering the competition, he wouldn't have the trouble to stay up late researching about the tournament.

"Then let's do our best--" He smiled at him as he handed his hand for a handshake. Though at first everyone was his enemy, but now, seeing Xirre, he thought that it wasn't bad creating a little friendship between the two. Cadis was lured by the word friendship, since it's the first time he'll be having one. Though he wasn't smiling, he's a bit overjoyed inside.

He heard the male spouting that he was beautiful, he almost spilled the coffee from his mouth. Sometimes, his master often said that word, Cadis just couldn't fathom the definition out of it. He wasn't beautiful, as what he'd always admit in his head. But he won't take such a fuss about it for now, he just kept silent, no words of acceptance was stated from him.

The brunette watched as the other just stood there with no acceptance of the compliment. Maybe he had offended the other seeing as they were both males, but that was the last thing the neko was meaning. He doesn't quite like men in that way, but he had not seen one as beautiful as the one in front of him. Taking a step back he looked up to the other once again.

"Oh... And thank you. I give you my best of wishes as well. Though the contest you entered yesterday doesn't quite fit your exterior." he confessed. The dark haired male didn't mean it in a mean way as he said earlier that the other was beautiful, but.... the male seem for more of logic. Though strength could also be seen in the other.

"Where to Cadis?" he asked glancing around. Well...he knew that the man wouldn't abandon him now. The cat was being a help to him and he knew just how to help the other. For sure once the logic tournament happen tomorrow they could most certainly be on teams. It would be quite easy the blond looked smart if Xirre could say so. An easy win a easy rank.
