How did you get into Yaoi?

Well by my cousin she asked/recommend me to watched LOve Stage(anime),being an Otaku i watched it and it is still not finished(as of now) yet so i look for more BL anime then found my way here in YO. :cuteonion41:

Ahaha i started to get bored and wondered off to here but first it was just written fiction, like on wattpad and such then i relized i had read every single decent one (due to the fact that i have no life) and ended up with manga

Well one day I started reading a fanfic about two characters from a game that I like and that is how I got into yaoi ^^

Step two) Peruse the internet for slash fanfic of favourite media at the time (yu yu hakusho, inuyasha, kingdom hearts, that sort of thing)

Step three) Lurk around local book store reading Loveless in the corner and occasionally buying standalone yaoi books.

Step four) ???

Step five) Profit.

I think I discovered RemusSirius fanfiction at first and I actually disliked it XD Then my friends and I started a game of seeing who could find the freakiest fanfiction so I ended up desensitized to a lot of stuff and even enjoying it.

 

Then I started watching/reading Hetalia and "accidentally" found a kink meme on livejournal...

I actually started with Yuri, and one day whilst searching for a yuri fanfic I accidentally clicked on a Yaoi fiction and that was it. Next day I bought as many yaoi mangas as I could carry home. For the next couple of monthes I was devoring Mangas, BL Novels and Fanfics and obviously the next logical step was Anime , movies and games. And ever since I prefer a yaoi or Shonen ai theme in all typs of media which I consume.

When I was younger, I used to ship guys together from movies and T.V shows without even knowing what I was doing XD. But the first time I understood what the term meant was when my brother told me about it. At first, I felt kind of awkward just trying to look it up, but then I started watching and reading about it.

 

I think the first yaoi I watched was Gravitation. Or maybe Junjou Romantica/Sekaiichi Hatsukoi? I don't really remember.

I Think it was beacuse I wantet to try something new, but I do belive I read one manga (kill me kiss me) and then jumped over to yaoi.... It Went fast for me and I loved it cuz it was nice to read about gay couples without making their love a problem or something weird.

I was randomly switching the TV channels one evening and saw a bit of Gravitation. I was in middle school around that time. The anime had already started for quite some time, but since I knew this particular TV channel used to play whole series over and over again, I patiently waited for the next time they played Gravitation from the start and watched it. After finishing it I looked up the anime and found out about yaoi, from there I watched Sensitive Pornograph (there is no mild way with me) and Okane ga Nai and I was hooked.

Hmm. Let's see. This is quite a story.

 

I was in second year in my highschool back then, around 13 years old. I needed a music track for my very first social media network site and back then, I really like the song Iris by Goo Goo Dolls. So I looked up some good AMVs on YouTube and saw a black cat and a white, long haired pair and thought, hey that looks cool, let's check it out. It turns out, the black cat is actually a boy. AND THEY FUCKING KISSED. It hit me hard like a train. The yaoi train. And that's how I explored the yaoi world. And now I'm currently into yaoi mangas. Doujinshi and originals. ^^ bahahahaha! So my first yaoi was Loveless. =^_^=

A non-Yaoi fan who is a friend of mine suggested I watch the anime Genshiken and its sequel series. I think it was episode 5 of Genshiken 2 where they have a solid 10 minutes of a fujoshi in the show pairing all of the male characters in the show together. While this was originally intended to be humorous, I was legitimately interested and started doing some *ahem* research.
