As suggested, we've added a new feature, Mentions. It is pretty much similar to Twitter's tagging.

 

When you write in any post @

Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links.

that user will receive a notification that they were mentioned in a thread.

 

 

 

To check your mentions, click on the Mentions tab on your profile.

In order to make the Mention notification point directly to the Mention lists (not to the visitor messages), I have to give up forcing the Visitor Messages tab to be displayed when accessing a profile. In this case Activity Stream will be the default when accessing a profile, but the Mention notification will work properly.

 

I don't know what members would prefer:

- To have Visitor Messages displayed when accessing a profile, but the Mention notifications not to work properly

or

- To have the Activity Stream displayed when accessing a profile, but the Mention notifications to work well

 

The vBulletin team admitted they have this issue and no fix so far.

doesn't work, I assume I need to add a link or.. not sure how it works and can't find an explanation here or at FAQ, but it is possible I've missed it:)

It should work for you to write @ and the the username. Feel free to try mention me here to se if it works. Btw. I dont Think the mention works inside VM/vistitor messages, and not in the chat room.

To mention you I just copied your name and aded it after the @.

It does work!! The whole new world has opened up to me!

I think I know what was the problem - before I tried it with the preview option and there it didn't show, I never tried to actually post it:)

Well there you go then, but yeah, it dosnet work in chatroom, and i dont Think it works in VM either.

I don't know why but I also really like the fact that at some point you felt the need to mention yourself.
