"New Game; Character creation in progress." A woman's voice was ringing in Lucas' ears. He had just sat down in the ARC and hooked himself up when the game began on it's own. A few months ago, he signed up to be a beta tester for a new virtual game called Peachviper. He had recently gotten the call that he was accepted. One meeting and signature later, Lucas had his very own ARC installed in his bedroom in the basement. "Use the touch screen to create your character." The voice continued on, explaining about character creation and features of the game. He briefly wondered about if having a soul mate was required to play the game but went onto create his character. "You have chosen: Name - Lye; Gender - Male; Zodiac - Hare; Class: Thief. You will now entire the game. Have fun."

Calvin had arrived early and was already signed in as his mage character named Amir.

Amir stood in a forest, glancing around, beige antlers sprouted from his white hair, and an emerald plate floated between them. His blue eyes watched the forest carefuly as he started to run.

Blue lines of magic flowed around him as he turned into a large white stag. Amir's powerful legs propelled his large body through the air as he leapt from one huge bunch of tree roots to the other, moving quickly.

Lye bought his weapons from the Weapon Shop, ignoring further directions for beginners. He checked his map and was off towards the forest, bow and arrows strapped to his back; knife in the holster at his belt. The pink bangs in his eyes were already distracting him. Making a mental note to change his hair style later, he kept running, trying to zig-zag his way through the forest. He couldn't afford to get lost in thought while playing the game. His ears twitched. There was something in the distance. The rabbit ears weren't just for show after all. Quickly, Lye took his bow and an arrow, hoping to find his very first monster to kill.

Amir continued to run, hooves hitting the ground hard and he was moving very fast. The emerald disk between his antlers shined in the sun as he quickly leapt over a bush, breathing hard now.

The monster was gaining speed, getting closer to where Lye was hiding in the bushes, waiting. He thought he was ready and shot as soon as he saw the monster, but he wasn't quick enough. Taking out another arrow, he waited until a moment when the monster paused and shot again, hoping that he had hit the furry creature.

An arrow peirced lower side and he he tried to stop but as he was going quite fast he went flying over a bush. It was followed with a flash of blue and a scream.

Amir looked down at his side and started trying to remove the arrow hissing softly.

Feeling quite proud of himself for his first kill, Lye strapped his bow back into place on his back and began to walk towards the town. The scream he heard frightened him. Wasn't the creature supposed to disappear after he killed it? He then remembered the scream hadn't been that of a creature. Was it possible to hurt other players? Maybe someone was in trouble? Turning back, he quickly made his way over to a patch of bushes and looked over them, scanning the area. He could feel his face heat up, embarrassed and shocked that he made such a mistake.

Amir toke a firm grip of the arrow and pulled it out with a loud groan. He throw the arrow on the ground not even bothering to put it in his inventory.

He placed his hand on the wound and swils of magic moved around his hand and the disk between his antlers glowed softly. Amir's short white hair ruffled softly in the wind caused by the magic.

Lye stared in awe. Was this guy a Mage? While he was watching the other player, a creature had spawned behind him. He turned, wide-eyed, to stare at the giant bear in front of him. Not having enough time to take out another arrow, he grabbed for his knife before jumping out of the way of an attack. Level one Lye versus Level ten bear had begun. (o.o)

Amir saw the bear and quickly turned back into a deer. He pranced away some, wound still open to watch the fight from a safe distance.

Anouther smaller bear spawned nearby and swiped at Amir making him rear back and kick out with his front hooves striking the bear in the face.

Lye wanted to make sure the other player had gotten away safely, but could only keep his eyes on the bear. He dodged a few attacks, hoping the bear would get tired or uninterested. He was already out of breath; his bangs were getting in the way; and it didn't seem like the bear would let up anytime soon. He threw the knife towards the bears eyes, missing his target but distracting it long enough to get out another arrow to shoot towards it's eyes as well. The arrow missed. He dodged another attack, running behind the bear to shoot at it's back. The arrow struck the bears spine and it fell to the ground. Lye expected the bear to disappear like most enemies do in games but it stayed there. What a strange game, he thought. He tried to pull the arrow out but gave up when he realized he wasn't strong enough. Instead, he went in search for his knife.

Amir bellowed angrially and a bolt of electricity flew from his emerald dish, striking and killing the bear.

He snorted and proudly walked around a tree to see a small rabbit man searching for something on the ground. He toke a few steps forward and unknowingly stepped on the other's knife as he stood there watching the other.

Lye could hear something else close by. Quietly, he took an arrow and set his bow. Turning, he was relieved to see the player from before. He felt embarrassed once again. "Oh, it's you." His voice didn't sound like his voice. This voice seemed more soft spoken than his voice in real life. "I'm really sorry about before. Are you hurt very bad? This game seems pretty realistic." Realizing he was rambling, he went back to looking for his knife.

Amir toke a step closer his back hoof still on the other's blade and arched his neck to get a closer look of the rabbit man. His ears perked forward as his pinkish nose sniffed the other.

"I'm fine." Amir said standing straight.

Lye stared at him. 'Did he just sniff me?' He thought. He hadn't realized it but the game really did have everything. It was as realistic as it could get. He could smell the forest all around them. 'Does this mean we get hungry too?' He was a bit worried about food, never having been hunting or fishing in his life. He doubted he would have enough money to constantly buy food in the towns. He frowned at the bear. The was no way he was eating that. Turning his attention to the other male, he tried to see if he was lying or not about being fine. "What do you think happens to you in real life when you get hurt in the game?"

The stag shoulders shrugged.

"I feel fine, that might change later though." He said and toke a few steps, his hoof no longer on the blade.

"How long have you been playing?" Amir asked, looking around.

Lye kicked at the dirt, knowing he was in a higher level area. He was a bit embarrassed that he had come to the forest but at the same time, he was glad that there weren't swarms of enemies like he had been expecting. "Today's my first time playing actually. What about you?"

"I've been playing for about three weeks." Amir said, turning back from a deer to his half human half person form and streached some.

"What are you doing all the way out here?" Amir asked.

Spotting his knife, Lye went over and picked it up and put it back in the holster on his belt. He turned back to the other male and shrugged. "Got bored in town." After a moment, he realized he hadn't introduced himself. "I'm Lye by the way."

"A pleasure to meet you." Amir said and looked around again.

"We should probably start heading back to town." Amir said noticing it was starting to get dark.

Lye flashed him a smile before looking worriedly at the other then at the sky. "Oh, okay let's go!" He started to jog back. He didn't know what came out at night but he didn't want to find out this early in the game.

Amir turned back into a deer and ran up behind Lye, he lowered his head and scooped Lye up so he sat on Amir's shoulders. He started running faster toward town.

"This is faster." He stated simply.
