I bought my first book a bit over a year ago, only because i was going to start uni and start living at uni accommodation so i knew my parents wouldn't snoop and find the yaoi cause it would be with me lol

sadly, i never have any physical yaoi books that i could brag about here there aren't anyone here i could show or share my collections with. also, there aren't many readily available from where i live. and buying them online cost so much.

It's hard for me to remember exactly, but I believe my first yaoi book I got (manga rather) was Gravitation. After that I went a little more hardcore and got Sensitive Pornograph XD Good times! This was when I was like 16 or 17.

About a decade ago I bought Gerard and Jacques by Fumi Yoshinaga. It's a really lovely manga set in revolutionary France. I would recommend it to anyone.

I got my first book when I was 15. My mom was use to me buying manga from the bookstore by then but didn't like it. She thought it was a waste of money and was evil. She thought my cute kiddie shoujo manga was evil. :cuteonion50:

So when I bought my first yaoi I was stupid enough to leave it with her while I went to the restroom. When I came out of the restroom, I saw her flipping through it. I swear my life flashed before my eyes.

My extremely religious, homophobic mother was looking at my yaoi manga. :1onion49:

When she was done, she put it back in the shopping bag and told me the book was backwards and that I should get my money back. She didn't notice anything and I was so relieved. The age rating alone would have gotten me the butt whoppin of my life. From then on I was a lot more careful about my yaoi purchases and where I hid it all. Oh those were some crazy years. Glad I don't have to worry about it anymore now that I have my own place.

It had Everything, big yaoi beds, bad body proportion, cheesy story XD

I bought my first yaoi manga in 2003. I was 15. Kizuna. At that time I had never heard about yaoi before

 

The manga was wrapped in plastic, a big red "recommended for adults" was printed on the front but that didnt stop me from buying XD
