Yaoi Eater Posted June 14, 2011 Share Posted June 14, 2011 Well, yeah about them. Maybe such a topic shouldn't exist on this forum, but yaoi haters exist anyway. So, did u meet any? What do u think about them? Personally, I haven't met a yaoi hater...but I found some topics on the web were yaoi haters were against yaoi fans and called them...different names(I won't say here, cause it's too rude). They hate gays actually. I used to shout at them and say that i hate their discrimination!! Lol but they say, i can do what i like and follow my own interest, they still are my friends. So it's easy to find yaoi haters. There isn't a lot of yaoi stuff in stores either because a lot of parents complain about it being on the shelves. So you have to order online for a lot of stuff. We are raised in old southern Alabama and if there's one thing you'll find here, it won't be gays. I grew up on a farm, have a slang like no tomorrow, and have been stuck in the Bible belt for some time. There are haters everywhere here. I had to tip toe around for years. I was scared that I was the only one, but then I found two people at my school who are in love with it just as much as me! I was really happy. lilredphoenix Posted June 30, 2011 Share Posted June 30, 2011 Even though I live in a state that is very excepting of GLBT communities there is always going to be ppl to show hatred for something they know little about or what they fear/ignorance of. That said I suppose there is a more "open" mind about Yaoi, there are many fans here and comic book stores that carry many Yaoi titles (as well as yuri) also video stores for DVD titles or properties. I haven't ever had to shield my picks while walking up to the check out stand to purchase them although the sales clerks would smile at me and say "ooh that's a good choice".....lol Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There this one site and they streaming yaoi anime and I read so many hurtful comments about yaoi lovers. I don't get it, if you don't like yaoi, why bother watching the (streaming) yaoi anime? Why waste your time? sheesh! And yeah, most of them were boys. They kept saying they prefer yuri. You guys love to watch girls make love to each other, and yeah, we girls love to watch guys make love. We yaoi lovers also have our own interest, why not just accept it? I felt a bit strange when i went to the lokal comic shop to buy yaoi for the first time but there was such a nice cashier - she even made me a list of her own favourites *tehe* and about that boys-make-rude-comments-about-yaoi-and-say-they-prefer-yuri: i heard about an experiment someone made where they first asked the test persons wheather they were ok with people being gay or not and then they showed them a gay porn. Guess what happened: most of the people who said they don't accept gay people got aroused.
