House: Ravenclaw

Wand: Unicorn Hair with dragon tooth 8 inches

Working on new potions in the greenhouse, he asked the teacher for permission to use some plants for the potions. Creating new spells is always fun, he wishes to become an Auror later on after he finishes school.

Year: 6th

Pet: A black and white cat called Luna

Background:

Jacob comes from a well off family, his mother was held in the highest regards at the Ministry of Magic- she worked as a council woman, always busy and never having enough time for her son- she usually gives him anything he wants. But, he wasn't a spoil rotten brat- and he doesn't ask for much, his father on the other hand was a famous author in the Wizarding community. So, most of the time he spends it with his grandparents who practically raised them by themselves. Ever since he was young he felt alone, and thus he turned towards reading books.

Bright blue eyes watching the train move from the station, Platform 9 3/4- students sticking there heads out of the open windows waving bye to their loved ones, parting from them once more. Parents and guardians alike were either crying due to their children leaving them for the first time, others looked glad to be rid of their kin.

However, the one male sticking his head out of the moving train windows was waving goodbye to a pair of elderly people a man and a woman. His grandparents, he could always rely on them- holding the black and white cat in one arm he gave the couple a sad smile, he was going to miss them. Oh how he wished it was already the holidays! He sighed softly before hearing a soft meow, glancing down he saw sharp gold eyes staring up at him, as if begging to be fed.

Chuckling at the pathetic look he was receiving from his cute furry friend he shook his head, causing loose strands of brown locks to wiggle with the movement. "You hungry?" He asked the cat, hearing an irritated meow escape from the whiskered face he laughed even more. "I'll take that as a yes!" Walking away from the windows he headed towards the compartment that has his stuff already in it. Opening the door with one hand he walked in only for it to shut automatically behind him.

If he didn't know any better or wasn't born into the magical world, that little bit of the door shutting by itself would have frightened him, but- he was use to strange things happening. Like the whole ogre wars and what not...

Walking towards a free seat, he sat down and placed his cat companion down next to him- she sat next to him looking up at her owner waiting for her treats. Her white tail swayed from side to side waiting... Jacob pulled her goody bag onto his lap and unzipped it- the sound alone caused her to meow excitedly, twirling around in place and standing up on her back paws. Ear's twitching uncontrollably, he blinked as he saw her do all of that just for a treat... Laughing at his cat's silliness, he gave her a treat in the shape of a fish. "There you go girl!" He smiled softly at her, she placed her paws down on the soft leather seat. Cooing and purring as she snatched the treat up and ate it. The young teen zipped the bag up and placed it beside him, he was about to get up and grab a book to read on the long journey to Hogwarts, but instead Luna climbed on his lap, curled up and fell asleep.

Sighing once more, Jacob lolled his head back against the cloth covered back, great... He knew she wouldn't move for awhile and if he so much as try too he'll get bitten. Groaning at that thought, he turned his blue eyes towards the window. Yup... Another long journey to school... Oh joy...

The first of September was always an interesting time for Sungjun, he had to deal with his parent's teary eyed goodbye and his sister sulking on the large platform, too impatient to wait another year when she could finally go to Hogwarts, when she could get her own wand instead of threatening to steal his and get thrown into Azkaban before the age of eleven. He was also suspicious that Minhee was sad that he always took Yeou with him.

To be fair, she was his cat, not hers. He had raised her from being a small kit to the impressive seven pound devil she was now, at the tender age of six. Yeou did like Minhee a bit more, though he suspected it was due to the fact that Yeou saw his younger sister as a kitten who couldn't defend herself. Sungjun held that thought until she beat him at Wizard's Chess without their parents help and without mercy.

She was ruthless and ambitious. He might be the perfect child at potions, but she got the smarts. She knew strategy. Sungjun was just considered a genius in the subject of Potions- not that he showed that at all. Pulling his younger sister towards him in a hug, the large sleeves of his robes covering her small body, Sungjun kissed the top of her head. "Don't be sad, just one more year, you dummy." He ignored the pinch to his side. "Trust me, after a year you'll be asking not to go."

It was stupid, the words really meant nothing, yet she accepted them with a smile, sending him off with a bright 'goodbye'. His mother was a little more teary, after six years she still couldn't get used to the idea that he had to leave for a year to learn. His father was proud, proud that his son earned top marks in the classes that mattered.

Sungjun personally couldn't care about his grades, they really didn't prove anything other than how much of the homework you turned in. He much rather preferred learning potions after all of his classes, his professor more than willing to help him nurture his love. Feeling Yeou curl her tail around his neck, Sungjun ran off to the train after hugging his mother, luggage trailing behind him almost haphazardly. The train was, sadly, already full and he had to try to find an empty compartment, or, at the very least, one with people he could stand.

Opening a door at random, Sungjun blanched when he saw Jacob sitting in the compartment. He really hadn't seen the other since their first year and, despite his attempt to build a friendship early, it all crumbled when the other was sorted into Ravenclaw. It wasn't the different house that was a problem, more like the tension between the houses that had been put into place centuries before they went to Hogwarts. Slytherins stuck to themselves, the Hufflepuffs often didn't mind talking to them as their dorms were close to anothers and they really were the nicest house.

"Mind if I sit here? Everywhere else is full." Sungjun asked, albeit a little awkwardly. He really didn't wait for an answer, sitting down in the seat furthest from the other.

Hearing his compartment door open, Jacob lifted his head from its relaxed state that was lolled back against the seat, blue eyes watching as the other teen sat down across from him. Sitting up right, caused the once sleeping bundle of joy to lift its head up in a cute fashion, looking around and hissing quietly at the other cat.

Well, that certainly surprised the brown haired teen. "Luna, be nice!" He reprimanded his cat, reminding her to play nicely with others. Luna jumped off his lap and up on the luggage rack, curling up in a tight ball. Rubbing his middle finger and thumb against his temple, Jacob sighed deeply, shaking his head.

"Great... She is going to be a pain to get down from there now..." He muttered softly more so to himself than the other compartment occupant. Fixing his robes, he leaned back with a frown. It was awkward, too awkward for his taste. Picking at his sleeves he finally decided to talk, "How was your summer?" He realized that his tone sound strange and weird, even to his own ears.

They tried being friends before and that didn't turn out so well, considering the fact that both him and Sungjun were in two different houses. Also- there was the fact that the Slytherin and his friends made fun of him constantly. Ravenclaws were more likely to befriend Gryffindors, than any other house.

But, aside from that ever since their first year they drifted apart. Avoiding each other as much as they can, and even now he wished that he was sharing a compartment with somebody else than Sungjun.
