"Your daddy will be back soon enough," Granny promised as she stroked his hair and sat with Hem till he fell asleep and left the home, making sure to lock it up so they were safe and no one who could hurt them.

 

Vidar frowned as he stood at the gate to their garden and looked at their home. He wondered if his grandmother had tricked him or if Hem really did want him to come home. But he was also worried about Honey being alright.

The two slept peacefully and quite deeply since they both where exhausted from the days activities.

Vidar eventually came into the house but he didn't wake the others, he sat in the kitchen and made a pot of tea, waiting to see if they ould be happy he came back.

“....you left us...” Hem mumbled with a glare clearly angry but with a simple huff walked over and hugged Vidar tightly. “I don’t ever want to use that spell again” he mumbled the little deer trying to apologize but was to shy/afraid to truly apologize as he just flung to his father.

"You wanted me to go remember?" Vidar said softly then smirked as he wrapped his arms around his son. "What didn't like balling up all your feelings?" he asked as he shifted and with a bit of difficult scooped up his son to sit on his lap. It wasn't as easy as when Hem was smaller but this still felt good. "Hem I wanted to do everything I could to save him but I didn't know he was going to leave us that night. He told me we still had time together but he lied to me. I don't want to lose either of you."

“...I hate him for leaving to...” Hem admitted as he snuggled into his fathers arms and held onto him just a little. “I’m sorry for being so mean I was angry at myself and pushed it into being angry at you” Hem added with a sigh.

"His body couldn't keep going Hem, but he came back to us sooner then he should have. He should still be a baby but he had his new parents help him grow up so he could return to us," he said as he rubbed Hem's back to comfort him. "There was no reason to have been angry with yourself, you did nothing wrong," he said and hugged him. "It'll be hard for a while and we have to get use to the new him."

“I’ll try” Hem replied gently as he snuggled into his father adoring being held once again.

Vidar smiled as he hugged him close and nuzzled the top of his head. "Are you hungry? Or sleepy? We can go back to bed together this time," he said as he rubbed his son's back.

“I’m hungry” honey admitted as he yawned and stood at the doorway the deer having woken up. He looked at the two and smirked happily before walking over and joining them almost squishing them.

Vidar chuckled as he mate hugged them. "Well then Hem how about we just get breakfast now? I feel like French Toast what about the two of you?" he asked with a smile and would gladly cook friend toast for his loved ones.

“I’ll have some toast and tea” honey replied as he snuggled his family clearly happy to be home.

Vidar hugged then kissed both of them before setting Hem down to make the french toast, regular toast, and tea for them. "Hem, do you want milk to drink with your breakfast?" he asked as he set the large plate with the toasts on the table then the syrups as well, along with the teapot and cups.

“Yes please” Hem replied as he snuggled up to his mum adoring having honey back home the little deer quite happy.

Vidar smile as he got Hem his milk before sitting down to join them. "Honey how are you feeling? Still tired?" he asked worried that Honey still needed time to recover.

“A little tiered but, it’s to be expected I did travel here from a boat” honey admitted eating his food the deer having a nice appetite.

Vadir nodded slowly then smiled at his mate. "Hem how are you feeling?" he asked hoping Hem was better now that they were all back together.

“I’m fine” Hem admitted his face bright red the small deer continuing to eat.

 

“You’ve gotten a little taller” yukie admitted to hem who blushed and nodded shyly making yukie cutely chuckle.

"He's gotten stubborn," Vidar said with a small smirk, hisinghis son for being so difficult. "I think he's magic is getting stronger too. It'll give him a nice long life after we get him trained up. My Grandmother said he has strong untapped talent we just need to figure out what it is. I'm hoping Earth Magic."

“He gets that from you” honey teased as he finished his breakfast enjoying the simple meal. “Earth magic doesn’t suit him he seems like one who would prefer plants over dirt” honey admitted.

Vidar smirked and chuckled. "Ove that is part of Earth magic. Plants are in the earth that's how they get what they need to grow," he said softly. "But Hem will find his skill on his own," he said with a supportive smile.

“I see” honey replied making a mental note to either borrow some books on magic or talk to granny on what to expect from Hem.
