White, everything was slowly but surely turning pure white as the snow continued to fall softly and blanket the entire castle as well as the city grounds below. Silver eyes flashed in the reflection of the light as it bounced off the snow while the young prince took in the scene before him. The castle was huge and made of mostly prestine marble, it rose up and towered high so that it could be scene from miles and miles away. Outside of the castle gates was the city where the citizens of Ingelrayok resided. Despite the snow, he could see the many elves bustling about, getting ready for the Eijjah to arrive. Today was to be the day that the Eijjah arrived and offered one of there servants up to be his new servant. They were the ones that killed his last one after all, it seemed like a fair trade. It was going to be simple, if anything happened to Kaito, then the treaty would be broken, the Eijjah that was to be his servant would be killed and the war would resume. Though the elven race was armed with magic unlike the others so even before the treaty the war was begining to sway in there favor. So it seemed as if some wanted the deal to go sour just so they could resume.

"Sir, he has arrived."A soft voice spoke from behind him, and the white haired male glanced around to see one of the female servants standing there with an apologetic smile on her face. He closed his eyes for a moment and let out a soft breath as he gained his composure before nodding finally. "Alright, please remind the guards that the Eijjah is not to be harmed. We need to make this work, or it's just going to more bloodshed." She gave him a curt nod before bowing slightly and fleeing from the room quickly. "Well, looks like it's time to do this."The prince spoke before pulling on his long white coat and making his way to the throne room where he sat next to his father, The King and turned his attention to the large doors in anticipation for the Eijjah to be escorting in.

Appearance:

Differences from picture:

-Has huge white wings, total wingspan is 14'

-Skin pure white

Personality: Very loyal and kind to people he knows. Otherwise he comes across and cold and uncaring. But is professional enough to do his job despite personal feelings.

Bio: Iria became the princess Yuria's servant when he was 12 and she was 10. They became close as they grew up, but were never romantically involved, instead they had become like siblings.

He is extremely against the idea of working for a foreign prince, but has gone along with it anyway.

---

Snow, pure white snow. It covered the unfamiliar city and made it almost look like home. Eimoria was so far north that it had only one or two months a year without any snowfall. But even covered in snow this place looked alien. Iria had heard of the marble castle but had never seen it in person. The beauty was lost on him, instead it looked like a sterile prison, unmoving and uncaring.

The carriage made it's way closer to the castle and Iria had to force down his anger and fear. So much was riding on this, if he angered the prince it would result in his entire country being slaughtered. But he could never respect that man. So many people on both sides had lost loved ones, children, parents, siblings. Iria himself had lost two siblings, leaving only the sister who was too young to fight. Despite all that this country had allowed the war to continue. But now? Now the prince had suffered one loss and that was enough to end the war. Had this man never even thought about the commoners who were suffering? The orphans left to starve in empty battlefields, the parents who had lost every child and were left to lost their will to live, did all that mean nothing to him? And how could this guard have meant so much if the prince was willing to try to 'replace' him? If a marriage between Iria's princess and this prince had be arranged it would have made sense. But to have Iria replace the deceased seemed extremely disrespectful. At least this way Yuria was safe...

Finally the carriage stopped and Iria was greeted by an escort of royal guards. He handed over his weapons, which of course would defeat the purpose of him being a guard if they weren't returned, and followed them into the castle. He stayed perfectly silent and kept his gaze forward, not allowing himself to show any curiosity to his surroundings. The escort stopped until the head received permission to enter the huge doors.

The leader of the group pushed the doors open and Iria finally got a glimpse of his captor. As soon as the escort stopped Iria lowered himself on one knee and bowed his head as a sign of respect. He hadn't had time to learn the ways of the Ionians, he knew their language but that was all. In his homeland it would be rude to speak without permission in front of a king, so he held his tongue until he was given some kind of signal as to what to do.

The king was a very tall man, probably one of the tallest in the whole kingdom which only added to his already intimidating presence. He had long, straight pure white hair that fell behind his shoulders gracefully and atop his head sat a tall, silver crown with one large white crystal in the center of it. His eyes were icy blue unlike the princes silver orbs which he had clearly gotten from his mother. The kind also wore a thick black coat which only emphasized how pale he was, the inside was puffy meaning it was clearly lined with expensive fur.

Kaito sat up a bit straighter when the deafening sound of the doors being pushed open echo'ed through the hall and he brought his attention what was to be his new guard. He watched silently as the stranger stepped into the room, calm and composed and lowered himself to the ground, bowing with respect. Well, he certainly isn't the monstrosity that I was told was going to be coming is he? Seems respectful at least. He observed silently, however was pulled from scanning the other when the Kind began to speak.

"Well, welcome to the Kingdom. I trust you feel honored for this opportunity, as you should."His voice was soft, but something about it managed to cut everyones ears like the tip of an icy sword. Clearly he was not going to like this new comer. "Now I trust you know why you are here,"He continued, gliding up gracefully into a sitting position and slowly began making his way towards the still lowered Eijjah, "Your people, killed my sons guard and best friend and reperasions are to be made. I don't care what your feelings are, you will protect the prince, your prince. Not to the best of your abilities, you won't try your best, you will do this. IF you fail, you better pray you die first. For if you do, I assure you your death will be a slow and painful one. You can trust me on that one boy."

The king stopped right in front of the other, but made no motion to allow him to raise yet. Instead he turned to Kaito and motioned him forward, "Kaito, come here and greet your new guard." Kaito rose, just as smoothly and swiftly as his father had done just moments earlier and came to stand next to him. Reaching forward, with a gentle touch and under his fathers watchful eye he touched the Eijjah's shoulder slightly before speaking. "You may rise, i've been told your name is Irea.I know you just got here, but I need to run into town so it appears your new position will be starting now." Kaito's voice was soft and smooth, but it lacked the intimidating edge that his fathers had. For that matter, the prince himself looked far from intimidating, more of a boy than a man in his over all demeanor. Which was something his father had tried to rectify in him long ago but to no avail, Kaito was a gentle soul and to the kings dismay it appeared that he would stay that way.

He wanted to get out of here with the Eijjah as quickly as possible, knowing this was probably as unpleasant for the other as it was for him. Stepping around Iria, he gave his Father a respectful nod before walking past the Eijjah and through the large room to the doors where they were opened for the two.

Honored? Honored that he had to live with these heartless monsters? It was so ridiculous that Iria wanted to laugh. His expression didn't change in the slightest of course. He showed no emotion as the king spoke and didn't make even the slightest movement, barely even blinking.

The guard had to force down the urge to flinch away from the prince's touch, he didn't want this disgusting creature anywhere near him. Finally he rose to his feet, each movement smooth and graceful. The prince still hadn't given him permission to speak or even asked him a direct question, so Iria stayed silent.

He bowed deeply to the king before turning towards the guard who took his weapons. With the king's permission the weapons were returned. It took only a few seconds for him to put the weapons where they belonged.

Iria followed after the prince in complete silence, even his footsteps made no noise. He caught up and fell into step just behind the younger male. Finally he allowed himself to look around. His focus stayed on his charge but his eyes moved to take in every part of his surroundings. The Eijjah made mental notes of anywhere that an assassin might hide and anywhere that he could move the prince to make him easier to defend in a fight. Understanding his surroundings would be the same here as it was anywhere, but reading people would be much more difficult. He didn't know how these creatures normally behaved so how could he tell when they were behaving suspiciously? Fortunately Iria had fast enough reflexes that he was confident he could protect the prince from an attack, although the guard himself would no doubt end up taking more damage.

Kaito couldn't help but sigh in relief as soon as they made it out of the throne room, so many things had happened in there that the entire room seemed to have a general feeling of dread. Then again he wasn't exactly certain if the room had that feeling clinging to it or if it was just the presence of the king himself. The prince continued the long trek towards the front doors of the palace, every so often he would glance behind him to see his new guard following him silently as well. This was certainly the epitome of ackward, there was no doubt about that. Still, this Eijjah had never done anything to him, and it wasn't the one who killed his best friend. Plus they were clearly going to be spending a lot of time together from here on out so he figured it would probably be a good idea to make the best of a bad situation.

His guards never really lasted long for that matter, there were a lot of attempts on his life and he was still here. Meaning they were the ones that fell in the line of duty. That being said he knew the Eijjah probably wouldn't last long either, especially because there would be citizens likely targetting the guard himself so the odds certainly were not in his favor. Finally, he chose to break the silence, "I need to go into town, we are going to have to take the hoarses but they should already be outfront. Your quarters are going to be the room next to mine, so if you ever need anything you can just come through the connected door. I would appriciate it if you knock first though if you do not mind." His voice was soft and he spoke as if talking to a new friend.

This Eijjah was going to get enough hassle from everyone else, he certainly didn't need to make it any harder. If his father had heard him speak so casually he likely would have gone on another rant about how unfit he was to be the future king. Though they both knew by now that the prince wasn't going to change. Once they made it to the large marble doors, two servants rushed up with a larger coat for the prince and a beautifully patterned white scarf, placing it on him carefully they turned to leave but Kaito held up a hand to stop them, "Wait, I think it's going to storm so could you retrieve one of my jackets for him please?" Silver eyes met with there confused ones and the shortest of the two maids spoke first, "Sire, there are plenty of jackets in the servants quarters if you like we can retrieve one?" She smiled sweetly but Kaito shook his head lightly before continuing, "No, mine are thicker. I think the white one with the blue fur linning on the inside will do actually."

She nodded quickly and they both hurried off towards his quarters, leaving the two alone again. The prince used this opportunity to try and make some head way with his new guard. "Look, I know you don't want to be here, and i'm sorry for the situation but let's do our best to try to make light of the situation, alright?" He finished, extending his hand towards the other for a hand shake. All of what was just said andhis current actions were so unlike any prince of his kind that his father would likely have keeled over on the spot had he seen it.

Iria was slightly taken aback when the prince first spoke to him this didn't sound like the way he should be spoken to, it was far too casual. And saying that he should just go to the prince for anything was ridiculous, royalty should be expected to waste their time on what was essentially a glorified prisoner.

When the prince asked for one of his own coats to be brought for Iria he almost spoke up. He didn't need any extra layers, he was accustom to a far colder climate. But he couldn't speak back to the prince, it would just seem rude.

His eyes widened in pure shock as the prince spoke to him directly and offered his hand. He stared into the man's eyes, searching for some kind of hint that this was a trick. That if Iria touched him the prince would scream and claim he was being attacked. There was no way that this monster would ever apologize for the situation... Right?

After a moment of silence Iria took the prince's hand, he had never heard of a handshake before so instead he bent and kissed the back of the man's hand. "Yes, your highness" He still had a thick accent despite all his practice with the language. "I will follow whatever order you wish to give me..."

Kaito sighed slightly at the others actions, taking his hand back he gave the other a sympathetic smile just as the servants came rushing back in with a large thick coat. The short servant quickly held it out to Kaito who sighed again and took a hold of it before handing it to the Eijjah and turning back towards the now open doors. Cold air burt inside the large entrance room causing a sudden chill to run up the princes back. Reaching up, he pulled his hood over his head before stepping out onto the snowy grounds. There were two large hoarses only native to there region outside waiting for them. He made his way to his own hoarse, not without almost slipping in the process of course. His people were elven, they prospered best in the warmer weather so snow and winter certainly did not exactly get along well with them. It's even said that there great ancestors hibernated in the winter to avoid freezing to death.

He reached up and was about to pull himself up before another of the servants ran up to help him. A few months ago he'd been trying to get up onto the horse and managed to fall off and sprain his write in the process so they usually fluttered about whenever he embarked or disembarked one now a days. Once he was up he turned towards his new guard again, They seem to have stuck me with a robot. He thought to himself, before thinking over the situation. He'd been told the Eijjah were blood thirsty monsters, so maybe they all had personalities like that? Still, wasn't much to do about the situation now. "Are you ready? It won't take to long to get there but word to the wise, keep your barings about you. Unfortunetly, I don't think my people are going to be to keen on your presence here yet. They are going to need to adjust I think." The prince smiled apologetically at the other before nudging his hoarse forward.

Iria hesitated for a moment before putting the coat on, it was so hot and heavy that he immediately regretted his decision. He left it on despite his discomfort and followed Kaito out. Once they were outside he was slightly more comfortable in the coat, however it still felt far too warm, and it was torture to have his wings pinned down like that.

The horses were an unfamiliar breed, which made the Eijjah uncomfortable. Would they act the same as normal horses..? He watched the prince mount the other house before climbing onto his own with ease. He frowned slightly at the man's words.

"Thank you for your concern your highness..." He spoke just loud enough for the prince to hear as he nudged his own horse to follow after. "It would improper of a guard not to be aware of the surroundings. I may not have chosen this position but I still intend to do protect you with my life." He looked over at the prince, his voice and expression was completely serious. This was all he could do to protect his princess now, so he would do anything to continue his duty.

His eyes moved to scan the area for threats. After a moment he turned his gaze back to the prince. "Your highness, I apologize if this is rude. But may I take off this coat? It is far to warm for such heavy attire and it is much more difficult for me to protect you if my wings are held down in this way"

Kaito glanced over at the other in confusion before repeating, "To hot? We can always cut holes in the back if it's to uncomfortable?" However as he spoke he took the others apperance in, they weren't even the same race. Come to think about it the only thing he knew about the Eijjah was what he had read in the textbooks and what he was told by others around the city which likely wasn't completely to be relied upon. "Ah, to be honest I don't really know much about the Elijjah. I didn't even think about the climate but I remember it is up North so it's probably much colder there. You could have told me back at the palace you know, it's not like I would have been upset." He laughed lightly before giving the other another apologetic smile, before motioning to the jacket.

"Go ahead, you can just lay it on the back of your hoarse and I'll put it away when we get back. Sound good?" He spoke, and the timing was perfect because the trees that lined there path gave way to the city entrance. "How about this, i'll get us some food and you can tell me about yourself. It's your job to protect me so the least I can do is try to make sure you are taken care of as well. With my limited knowledge on the subject it's not like I really know what i'm doing anyway." He let out another laugh and smiled before carefully disembarking from his own large animal and motioning to a nearby tavern which was made out of white stone. Made to look like the palace Marble but clearly a cheaper alternative.

Iria let out a soft sigh of relief when he was given permission to remove it. "Thank you your highness..." He easily kept his balance as he slipped off the coat and laid it across the back of his horse. His wings adjusted to get comfortable now that they were free. He didn't stretch them out in case it might startle one of the horses.

At the sight of the town Iria felt his chest tighten. He had been traveling for days and now he had to be extremely careful and on guard... This would not be easy. He hid his worries and looked over at the prince. It was strange... He hadn't expected the prince to show anything but hate and contempt... Why was saying he wanted to take care of Iria and find out more about him? He couldn't ask of course, it would be rude to question the other man. But it was still so confusing... He dismounted his horse and looked around, making note of all the windows and doors he could see on the tavern. A place like this could be busy, which would be dangerous for both of them. Iria quickly turned his attention back to the prince, ready to follow him into the tavern.

Kaito gave the others wings a wary look, there was no denying that they were beautiful. The problem was that elves didn't have them and if the other stood out before, with those on his back he sure as hell was going to now. This is going to be a really long day. He mused to himself silently, before turning his attention back to the tavern. Carefully he began crunching his way through the snow while heading towards the front door. He coughed slightly when a sudden gust of cold air pelted them, causing him to intake his breath to quickly. This only made his steps quickly until, to his relief, they finally made it inside. The sight of the prince in the city was anything but rare, but the citizens were always excited to see him so of course upon entering there were many cheers and acknowledgments for his appearance.

To which he nodded politely, only once it had calmed a bit was he escorted to a booth against the wall in the corner where he could at least attempt to escape some attention. The attention towards himself he could handle, but an enclosed space like this wasn't the best way for the general public to see his new guard. Sliding into the booth he motioned for Iria to sit as well before picking up one of the menus that were scribbled on rolls of with Teal lettering. "Alright, well i'm just going to get something warm to drink, but you've probably had a long day already so see free to order whatever you like. " He spoke without lifting his steady gaze from the menu. A small elven girl with bright red curly hair and green eyes hurried over, a huge smile on her face as she prepared to take the orders. However that cheery smile dropped the moment she laid eyes on the Eijjah. She clearly looked not to pleased about the other species presence but knew better than to act on it in front of the prnce so kept her mouth shut and silently waited for the orders, refusing to utter a word.

Iria carefully examined his surroundings as they walked. It was small which was a blessing and a curse. Iria was better with close range weapons, but his height and wings could cause problems in the enclosed space. He sat and looked around for a moment longer before looking at the menu.

When the waitress came over he met her gaze but showed no signs of emotion. Someone like this probably wasn't too different that the people from his own town... She must hate him and every other Eijjah because of the war. She had probably suffered loss too, whether it was the death of a friend or relative, or simply stress and economic problems. He lightly bowed his head to her as a sign of respect. It was all he could do to lessen whatever pain she felt.

He lifted his head after just a few seconds, he still needed to be on guard. "I apologize your highness, I am unfamiliar with the foods of your country... I do not wish to trouble you by asking for you to choose for me. Please do not concern yourself with me" Iria wasn't sure if he was saying things correctly, he wanted to show as much respect as possible but it was difficult when he couldn't speak his native tongue.

Kaito listened to the others responce and sighed inwardly, leaning forward slightly he rested his elbow on the table in front of him and lightly laid his head in his hand. Bringing his gaze downward he glanced over the menu in front of him for a moment before turning to the waitress once more. "I'll have the lightly seasoned broth soup and he will have the same, as well as two green teas." He answered finally, before reaching over and taking the menu that laid on the table in front of his new hard as well as his own. Handing them back to her, she nodded to him and turned before making her way to the doors that lead to the kitchen. She didn't so much as acknowledge the guard once.

"I ordered the lightest soup they had, even if you aren't used to our cuisine there shouldn't be anything in it that might upset your stomach. You are going to need to be careful with what you eat though, I'm not exactly certain as to what might not agree with your stomach." He spoke softly, giving the white haired male a slight smile. As he finished, the waitress was already on her way back with the tea and soups on a tray. Another reason he ordered it was because he knew they likely already had a pot of it in the back so it would be ready when ordered. She set the princes down gently, smiling as she did so, but all but slammed down Iria's before stalking off once agaion.

Silently, Kaito reached over, and switched his own tea with the others as well as the soup. "So, would you mind telling me a bit about your people? Or at least, how much sleep you might need and what you guys eat?" He asked, his gaze not leaving the Eijjah's face.

Iria frowned deeply as the food was switched. "Your highness are you sure you wish to do that? It seems more likely that I would be poisoned then you in this situation..." He said softly. "I have been trained to have a tolerance to every poison my country knows of... I doubt that anything here would be different enough to kill me..."

It was strange that the prince seemed to care whether or not the Eijjah was killed. Didn't he blame the entire species for the war..? Didn't he believe that the Ionians were the master race?

Kaito shook his head slightly before reaching for his newly switched tea. "My people are Fae in origin, so I don't really need to worry about it. My stomach should be strong enough for it, I doubt there is even anything in it in the first place. But in case there is, i'll just have to try you to get me back to the castle in time won't I?" He teased rather darkly for a moment before redirecting his attention to his tea and taking a slow sip, sighing contently after he did so. "We hate the cold, so we are pretty good at making warm foods like soups or tea. " The male informed the other before leaning back in the booth a bit and begining on his soup.

"So, Ira, looks like we have some time to ourselves for a few minutes. Why not tell me about your people if you don't mind?" He reiterated, this time it was it sounded like more of a statement than question, not to pleased with the fact that he was trying so hard to get a simple answer from the other. His gaze rose from his own soup to Ira as he waited for a response.

Iria dropped his gaze to the soup. It wasn't like he was against telling the prince about himself... But it felt wrong. Talking to the Ionian prince about things like food and sleep? It wasn't right, especially in such a casual manner.

"My country is very close to the north pole, so it is very cold and there is only one month without snow. That is why I do not have a need for warm coats. My body is suited for the cold, and if I were to become to hot then I could pass out or even die."

He lifted his tea and took a small sip. It didn't taste bad... Just unfamiliar... "As for sleep, my people typically need 7 hours a night but I can be fully alert after just 3 hours..." He took another sip of tea and looked around the room. What was he supposed to say about food..? "I do not know of any types of food I am unable to eat... We mostly eat fruits, vegetables, and fish... We can also eat red meat but it is expensive so most don't eat it. Instead most livestock is merely for milk or eggs"
