Ares-n-Halo

Plot:

x/xx/xxxx

Everything was going according to plan, a whole new generation of soldiers were being raised in the depths of a hidden laboratory on the edge of the Human Zone. They will be perfect, they will be powerful yet obedient to the cause, and be free of that annoying emotion called 'love'. Sure there were a few mess ups here and there but they would be disposed of soon enough...

Funny, the humans are so ignorant to what's happening right under their noses.

-----

x/xx/xx

Damn...the entire population of the Neutral Zone has disappeared. That puts operation Judgment Day into danger of failing. The prisoners brought in a few days ago by Exal won't give up any information, albeit it is rather exciting, we never had an opportunity to study twin-bonds before.

-----

x/xx/xx

The prisoners were broken out by a traitor and two Neutral Zone scum. I don't really mind, we got some really exciting data. Maybe we can try linking the minds of two people who are not twins.

.

.

.

Several of the experiments didn't make it through. We might need to use one that all ready shows some psychic ability. One of our experiments, Subject 001, is eight and all ready showing the signs. We will begin testing with him and his fellow unit member, Subject 002. Since he is a Leader maybe we'll be able to physically connect him to all his team members if this is a success.

--------

Years ago a project was started, it was named Project Next Generation. The scientists of the Realm Officials had been given children ranging from newborn to seven years old, and were told to create the perfect fighting force. The children ranged from Angels, to Half-Angel, to Half-Demons, and Demons...they even managed to get their hands on two Angel-Demon hybrids that made it pass the birthing process. The children were put into Units of 5 and would be raised alongside that unit to make the perfect team. A Leader, a Fighter, a Navigator, a Healer, and a Tracker. But, 16 years after the plan was first initiated a Unit of experiments broke out, lead by their Leader, one of the two Demon-Angel hybrids to make it past five years old.

Now free, the Leader of Unit 1, Ares, must lead his makeshift family, and those who joined him, to the rumored haven of the Neutral Zone. All while the mute Fighter, Halo, just tries to make sure that they get through things alive. Now hiding in what is now known as the Ghost Town the group searches for any sign of the Neutral Zoners, and any evidence of where they have gone. Will they find the Neutral Zone...or will they be thrown back into the hell of the Labs?

Heavy breathing fogged the glass as the subject nearly cried from the experiments that was being perfomed around him. The boy was trapped inside of a glass container, awaiting his turn. This was, yet again, a dangerous lab product that was effecting all those around him. Scientists were wavering around a red gem-like object, which was held by a metal tool. The small stone was being forced into the body of the other subjects and was bringing fourth pained squalls. All bodies had rejected the small red object, causing for the others to die in a small amount of time.

The struggle was worse than Ares had thought. It was now his turn to try to consume the gem into his body with open arms. It was scary to think that he could die, to leave the unit with a new leader. The blue orbs closed tightly, veins popping out at the amount of strength being uses for such a simple task. Soon strapped to a table, the red liquid dripping onto his skin, causing a burning sensation that Ares couldn't help but squeal to. There was no way that his body was taking such a subject. Those who had lived from such a thing had been transformed into a mindless chimera of different kind. It was a sad moment for all those who were experimented on.

Hyperventilating, the green haired kid closed his eyes as a metal object pried his mouth open, and the gem-like object was forced into his throat. The hybrid swallowed the substance, as everything went silent. Opening his piercing murky-blue eyes, the teen glanced around with surprise. The gods were watching over him because his body had taken the deadly item that was so drastically fed to him.

"Seems like subject 001 is our main priority. He's a success. Go to tell Whin-"A blood spiraling scream rushed through the air as the younger subject's body spasmed and raised slightly, pulling harshly against the restraints. It was all too much for one to take in. Too much of a powerful source of power to conquer. The voice was gruff now, pale body trembling as saliva started to bubble from the teen's mouth. Red marks appeared around the small body, the skin now laced with the strange appearance. Vision dramatically depleting as the surrounding faded to black.

XxXxXxXxXxXx

A sigh was given as murky blue eyes opened, the area dark as he glanced around. Where was he? Struggling to stand, the green hair flopping as he did so, Ares groaned loudly with hurt. What caught his attention was the body of someone else. It seemed as the other was sleeping. The small light gleaming on the body in the distance. With steps to get to the still figure, the eight year old male slipped and hit the ground from a slippery substance.

"Ouch!" Ares nearly cursed out, eyes widening as another body was discovered. Orbs darting around the room, the kid quickly covered his mouth to hide his yells. There was no way that he was here with those who had died. Such cruelty to dispose of the others in such a way as this.

xxXxxXxxXxxXxx

The eight year old sat in the pile of dead, discarded bodies. One second holding his breath before releasing it to take in yet another shaky breath to hold. The smell was harsh, having the teen to vomit up his inside nearly three times, though due to no more content, the third time was unsuccessful, it was dry heaving. It was true that he didn't want to go back to the horrifying life of being experimented on, but he'd only die if deciding to stay in the dark, damp and foul area. A sob was released as he thought of the unit, there would be another leader to replace him. That was unacceptable, as Ares was not willing for such a thing to happen.

Taking his fist, the small child began to thrust it against the wall, hoping that one would hear the bangs and release him. In the darkness, too dark for one's vision to adjust, the blue murky eyes could not locate the door. Even so, the kid was sure that it would be locked, so it was better to try and draw attention.

The bashing had continued for well over an hour, and soon a door was opened. At the sudden light bursting through the darkness, the green haired kid dotted over to the man and wrap the other in a scared hug. Little Ares was still a kid, so he would defiantly cater to the likes of such a man under extreme conditions. It always worked anyhow. Just a simple sorry from a scientist would make the boy once again like them.

--Sniff "I won't do anything bad. I jus' wanna go back to my friends." The small kid cried, murky eyes leaking tears through the whole period of talking. Although the only thing racing through the scientists head was that one had survived in such an extreme experiment. Ares was the first to succeed in taking the Anti-Moral substance.

Halo curled up in the corner of the room that he and his Unit were assigned to. He glanced around with ice blue eyes...nothing ever changed besides the number of beds, and now even that wasn't going to change either. Same old gray walls, same old thick, metal door with the barred window, and same old little bathroom off to the corner. They had taken Ares for an experiment...they've been doing that a lot lately ever since they tried to connect their minds. It worked, but the Leader said not to tell, and according to their training the Fighters always listens to commands, so he told them it didn't work. Ares said it was to be kept a secret so a secret it stayed. Long white hair fell across his dark skinned face as he laid his head on his knees. Charon, a little dark haired boy, with gray skin, and shiny horns that curled back against his skull and Orchid, a tiny red haired girl with pale skin, and fluffy white wings, were taking naps in their respective beds, and Vensu was taken off to do tracker things. He hoped Ares and Vensu came back all right.

Then the scientist came in, resulting in the fighter to immediately jump to his feet. The hybrid's white bat-like wings twitched, last experiment they wanted samples of his wings' bone, blood, and tissue...it was extremely painful.

"002, come, we have testing to do," One the white coated men said tonelessly, nudging the abomination forward with a gloved hand.

"Yes sir...," He answered quietly, not daring to look the man in the eyes.

They soon reached the testing room, and Halo came face to face with the thing that haunted all of their nightmares, and their reality. It was a metal table with restraints for one's wrist and ankles. Even though it is washed daily it's shiny surface was forever stained with splats of dark, crimson red. Despite himself the child began to tremble as he was lifted onto the table and harshly pushed back so that he was laying on the hard, metal surface. He yelped in pain as his wings were squished between his back upon impact. The restraints were clicked in place, and the nightmare began again.

OOooOOooOOoo

The scientists loomed over the child, clicking one last restraint around his head so he was completely immobile. One muttered about how today they'd be testing his healing ability, and a bunch of other stuff Halo couldn't quite understand. Reaching onto a tray one picked up a scalpel, and pressed it to the boy's neck. Ice blue eyes went wide...he was going to die, wasn't he?

Skin was peeled and cut back, revealing the muscle underneath. Blood began to soak Halo's neck and hospital gown as he screamed and cried in pain. One doctor handed the working one a vile that contained a substance that smelt of death to the boy's sensitive nose. He took a brush after wetting it lightly with the substance, and brushed it across the hybrids vocal chords. He watched in amazement as it started to burn and sizzle, but suddenly stopped and healed. He then went at it with a larger dose, and then an even larger dose while his colleagues took down notes.

Soon it got to the point the wound ceased to heal correctly...and Halo's screaming abruptly stopped. The scientists exchanged smirks with each other and capped the bottle.

"I believe we're done for today...report back to the commander that we have a substance that can slow an immortals healing," The lead scientist grinned wickedly, and then he turned to one of his lackeys and ordered, "Clean up it up, and bring it back to its containment unit, I don't want that creature dirty my laboratory any longer."

The child had long since stopped jerking on his restraints, and was struggling to stay awake as his new wound was stitched, and bandaged. The white haired boy was forced up, and on his feet. He swayed and stumbled aa he was pushed and prodded down the identical hallways, head fuzzy from blood loss and pain. His body felt numb, and his vision was getting blurry. When he was pushed back into his unit's cell he only managed a few step before falling forward, hitting the ground with a thud. He just couldn't find the strength to stay awake anymore...some Fighter he was.

OOooOOooOOoo

One of the sleeping children, Charon, was startled awake at the noise of Halos's body hitting the floor. Crimson eyes wide, the six year old jumped off his bed, and ran to the other's unconscious form, and tried in vain to lift the elder boy up. It was no use...Charon was too small. He whimpered, knowing that since their new Healer was too young so she couldn't even help him. He wished May hadn't died...it wasn't that he didn't like Orchid...it was just that he missed their first Healer dearly. He hoped Halo wouldn't die...he didn't think Ares could take loosing their fighter; the two were rather close and all.

The rain impinged harshly upon the earth's ground, nearly shattering every thought that plunged into the kid's mind. Those officials had the child out wondering for a certain escapee, and if not found then beating was in session. The familiar scent was being drowned out by the droplets of liquid, the wind murderously whipping the shaggy, spiky blue locks around. It was a whiff of scent that continued to strike at him. After following the familiar, yet strange scent, a lifeless body came into view. A gasp was given, the small nine year old falling onto his butt. What could he do? It was to bring in dead or alive.

Standing to take a hold of the other's body, managing to hoist the body onto his shoulder, Vensu trailed his steps back to the laboratory.

XxXxXxxxXxXxXXxxXxXxXxX

The sight was magnificent, red marks continued lace the skin which was hot to the touch; albeit that wasn't what was fascinating. The one thing that was beguiling was the unvarnished fact that the kid was lifting an object with a pained scream. The scientist pulled the knife from embedding in the arm of the child, patting the soft green locks with a smile.

"I'm sorry kid. Now let me bandage that." Taking a hold of the other and quickly piercing through the skin with a hot needle and thread.

XxxXxxXxxXxxXxxXxxXxxX

Vensu entered the room with the unit and crashed to the floor on arrival. He was exhausted, and from small whips for taking to long, it had took more energy from him. He knew that something was wrong, although he had sensed that the leader was on his way.

Charon whipped his head around to face the door, and the demon almost groaned, still trying to haul their Fighter to his bed; Vensu was back and needed help as well. The six year old, still being a kid, was easily overwhelmed by the situation, and felt tears prick the corner of his eyes.

"Ven," He began, using a nickname he made for the other since his horrible lisp often butchered the Tracker's name when ever he tried to say it, "I don't mean to thound really mean here, but we have a thituation...I can't help both of ya." Charon hated choosing, but Halo was unconscious, and, as far as he could tell the Angel was still awake for the most part. He and Vensu were quite close, but he was only six for Pete's sake, and Orchid was only four, so she couldn't help out. The Navigator whimpered, and sniffled feeling very frustrated at the moment, and quite strained due to his struggling in trying to lift Halo. Charon always kind of had the weakest body out of all of them, minus Orchid.

OOooOOooOOoo

Meanwhile the little red headed girl woke up from her nap, rubbing her hazel eyes sleepily. Taking in the scene, the little girl gasped, and rushed over to Vensu, panicked. "What 'appened to Venny!" She whimpered, then looking over at Halo, "What 'appened to Halo!" The curly haired girl sniffled, starting to cry, not knowing what to do.

Vensu could only give a groan, stretching sluggishly, intending to stand. The marks that littered the angel's skin was from burning leather slashing upon his skin. Despite that fact, the beating was more lenient than when the tracker was unable to retrieve an escapee. Of course the rate of escaping was near impossible, albeit some managed; mostly chimeras because of the brute strength. No one had any faith that the others either survived for that matter; Vensu just thought that the men in white coats were just giving all trackers a sense of training. Having one practice on their strengths would surely make one stronger. Therefore the officials would lessen the time for experimenting. Vensu was willing to try his hardest so that the scientist wouldn't have to tamper with him any longer. Also, the blue haired kid wasn't do it just for himself, but also for his little love, Orchid. The girl was special to him, like family. He wasn't willing to have her stay here for much longer. The dark eyed teen had promised to himself that he and the young girl would be the first escapees who would survived to tell their story to the outside world.

"Or-chi...d. Don....t cry." Eyes closing after a while. Vensu was just exhausted, he was completely drained. There was no energy that he could muster, yet alone help Charon with Halo.

XxXxxXxXxxXxXxxXxXxxXxXxxX

The green haired teen stumbled into the room, eyes roaming around the room with astonishment. Halo seemed to be unconscious, as well as Vensu. Orchid was bawling her little eyes out, and Charon was a spitting image. Sighing heavily, the leader waltzed up to his best friend as he placed a hand against the Navigator to push him away. Hoisting the thin dark-skinned boy into his arms, he lightly laid the other upon the bed.

"What happened?" The unit 002 asked, frowning as he stared to his white haired friend.

As soon as Ares took Halo from him Charon immediately went over to Vensu. With Orchid's help they managed to drag the older kid to the nearest bed. The little girl had been reduced to small sniffles after her 'big brother' was moved off the floor. "G-go get the medical-kit," The full demon ordered, though his voice still wavered. Sometimes Charon felt rather jealous of their new Healer...she always got their Tracker's attention...he always seemed to ignore everyone else when she was in the room. The crimson eyed demon scowled slightly, he wanted to be close to the angel again. When the red headed kid came back he roughly took the medkit from her, happy that he liked to watch May when she was still alive. He began fix up the other, ignoring the little girl as she went to stand by Ares instead.

"What happened?"

Charon shrugged slightly, "Do I look like I know, Thir? The thupid thcientistth, probably!" The younger snapped. Charon had always had a temper, and sour disposition. He had a major reputation for being snarky, and a bit of a jerk, despite his age. He turned his attention back to Vensu, trying to clean and bandage the other's wounds like May used to, but it was a bit harder than it looked.

OOooOOooOOoo

Meanwhile Halo stirred slightly, ice blue eyes blinking open only to close again at the harsh light. He weakly raised a hand to shield his eyes and let out a very soft groan. Out of the corner of his eye he finally noticed Ares standing over him. "A....," Was all he managed to get out before he started coughing, and gripped his bandaged throat. He tried again to speak but the pain in his throat was too much, and started coughing harder, blood starting not only to come out his mouth but stain the bandage around his throat as well. The white haired boy stopped trying, and soon the searing pain died down. He looked into his best friends murky blue eyes with an expression of horror on his face and mouthed, 'I...I can't talk.' It took a lot to make the quite Fighter cry...but he felt tears begin to sting his eyes, and shoulders began trembling in silent sobs. He couldn't talk...

Ares gave a roll of his blue orbs at the response of Charon's. The boy always seemed to have such a unpleasant attitude. It was one of the worse characteristics of the kid, besides his godawful lisp; at least this is what Ares thought. "Whatever mean guy." The leader responded to the other, not favoring the navigator in the least. In order of friendship he would have Halo first, followed by orchid, Vensu and then Charon.

At the movement of the dark-skinned kid, blue orbs shifted to the figure. A smile was breaking through the saddened exterior until a hack of coughs were brought forward. The eight year old leader was unsure of any injuries until the bandages around Halo's neck began to dampen with blood. The red liquid began to stain the white cloth, the material no longer having the effect of contrast between the brown skin and the fabric. Ares stared, body completely still as he was unaware of what he should do, although he was bewildered, suddenly grasping at the soft hands of his best friend. "Halo, y-ou can't talk?" Room deafening to all surrounding noises except for the breathing of his friend's, the tears seeming to make faint noises as it dropped to the satin sheet atop the bed. "Charon!" The hybrid quickly called out, now glancing back to the other. "Check Halo, now!" The green haired kid demanded, taking a step away from the next hybrid; albeit their fingers stayed connected.

XxxxXxxxXxxxXxxxXxxxXxxxXxxxXxxxXxxxX

Vensu gripped at Charon's hand, orbs opening to stare to the one above him. "Thank you." Body seeming to have gained enough energy to become conscious once again.

"Thank you."

Charon smiled lightly at the older kid, squeezing the other's hand slightly in his own. At his Leader's order the smile dropped...he just got Vensu's attention too. They stitched up Halo all ready, and he was not built for this kind of Healer mumbo-jumbo, so there wasn't much he could do. What did Ares expect him to do; magically make the other's voice come back. As much as he wanted to say his opinion he knew not to mess with the hybrid when ever Halo was concerned...it always had rather violent consequences. The demon gave the other an apologetic look before reluctantly letting go of Vensu's hand to go over to the two hybrids.

To say he was startled to see Halo cry was an understatement...he was downright shocked! He hulled the the medical kit up onto the bed, and took out a pair of tiny scissors, carefully cutting the bandages off the taller's neck. He pulled back the bloody cloth, and was rather disgusted to see the wound. It was stitched, yeah, but the skin all across the front of his neck looked bunt, and smelled slightly, making the demon a little sick. He quickly got some disinfectant cream and smeared it across the wound, causing a shutter of pain to go through Halo's body. The smaller boy got out some fresh bandages and wrapped Halo's neck tightly, and securely, though loose enough as to not choke the hybrid.

OOooOOooOOoo

Halo looked up at Ares sadly, wincing in pain as Charon fixed him up the best he could. After the other was done the hybrid made a gesture to the small demonic boy to get him a note pad. The demon took a minute to figure out what his Unit's Fighter was trying to say, then quickly grabbed the note pad and pen off the bedside table, and handed it to the white haired boy. 'They cut open my throat and put this burning stuff on it...it healed at first but it stopped healing the more they put on. I hurts really bad when I try to talk,' He wrote out with shaky hands. He thought for a second before adding a question that weighed heavy on his mind, 'Am I useless to the Unit now?' Fighters were supposed to be strong, they were supposed to heal the fastest and hit the hardest. They weren't supposed to be hindered by emotions...but Halo felt scared...scared that he would be useless to his friends now with out his voice. He was scared that he couldn't heal fast anymore, that they did something to him to mess that up with that stuff the put on his throat. He was scared that Ares wouldn't want him to be his Fighter anymore. He handed the note pad to Ares shakily, still sobbing silently.

Charon then picked up the medical kit and walked back over to Vensu, sitting beside the Angel.

Ares blue orbs scanned over the words written on the notepad with immense panic. The room had grew silent, tension grave enough to cut with a knife. As the leader, the hybrid child felt as if this tragedy was his fault. --Sniff...I was suppose to protect him. The elder kid repeated like a mantra in his mind, falling onto his knees beside the bed, lightly pale green hair falling against the sheets. Ares couldn't say that this was not the worst day of his life, because it was. Halo had been severly damaged by the men in the white coats, and he couldn't do nothing about it. Disgusted with himself, Ares growled loudly as he balled his fist and struck the marbled floor. The impact managed to make the young leader's knuckles bleed, the skin bruised with a hiss falling from the hybrid's lips. Ares just couldn't believed what had happened; he would never forgive those scientists.

With a cloud covering Vensu's mind, the tracker was unaware of what was happening around hm; despite that fact, he could feel the gloomy emotions radiate in the air, bringing a frown to the kid's lips. He just hoped that Halo was ok, for he knew the boy was injured when entering the room.

Halo's icy eyes widened drastically at Ares reaction, and he attempted to sit up. He ran his hand through the other's hair soothingly, trying to calm the older boy down. He still felt rather dizzy, but ignored that as he pushed the other's head back a bit, forcing the other hybrid to look at him. 'It's not your fault,' He mouthed, 'It's the white coat people's...not yours...stop hurting yourself.' Halo really didn't want to see the other hurt because of something out of all their control.

Orchid ran over to Ares' side, worried for her friend, tears building in her eyes. She didn't like seeing anyone in her little, makeshift family hurt, and with Vensu and Halo all ready hurt it was twice as bad. "Stop 'urting yourself!" The red headed little girl shouted, fat tears beginning to fall down her cheeks again.

Charon sighed, and absentmindedly ran his finger through Vensu's hair. Ares temper would be the end of him on day, or that's at least what the demon always thought.

Vensu relished in the hand combing though his hair, giving a soft sigh at the action. This surely calmed his nerves, enough to make him seem sleepy.

Ares eyes darted to the floor in shame. His friend's were right, he shouldn't be harming himself over something that he had no control over. Halo hadn't deserved the inflicted permanent injury that he had gotten; although the elder hybrid couldn't change what was already happened. Blue gems steering to stare into a different hue of blue, the leader gave a determined glare as he spoke softly. "I will get you out of here one day Halo, I promise." That was a statement that he would not forget. There could be no more harmful experiments like this again, or the dark skinned kid wouldn't survive. Who knows what was next. --I promise. Ares repeated to himself, orbs never leaving the fighter's face. The elder child hoped that halo now knew that he would never be a burden. That he would never be a disappointment to him, nor will he be useless to the unit. The white haired boy belonged here.

xxxxXxxxxXxxxxXxxxxXxxxxXxxxxXxxxx

Ares, Halo, Vensu age of 13; Charon age of 11; Orchid age of 9

Vensu sighed arms wrapped around Orchid's small waste. The room was freezing cold, the heaters not being activated by the officials. It was winter, yet the scientists kept the air conditioner on. This was a punishment for their unit, seeing as Ares had became more rebellious over the years. The leaders were ordered to travel with their units to a battle assimilation; one that involved the group working together. Since unit 002 believed that Chimeras, who would be the enemy in the battles, were considered people as well, he refused the offer. Of course Ares was disciplined but he continuously said 'no.'

Now many would think that the officials was able to make the team do what was ordered, albeit Ares' team was different. If it wasn't from the leader himself, then neither budged to go through with a command. This, in the past, had earned them much praise; although at times like this it was seen as disobedient.

"Gods Ares, can we not just go. You like to believe that those monsters are still one of us...but they aren't. I'm freezing, and I'm sure my baby sister is too." Wrapping the other more into his arms. This only earned Vensu a deadly glare, although from seeing it so often, it was ineffective.

"Not one of us you say?" The hybrid started, "Then please explain to me what the hell you are. Something besides a freak who has been experimented on all your life and bending to the rules like every obedient mutt would." he finished, raising a brow as he waited for the other to speak. The elder teen, Vensu, just sneered, glancing away from the green haired male. Sometimes Ares could really piss him off.

Halo was the only one not shivering despite the cold of the room, he just sat next to his best friend, white bat wings loosely wrapped around himself. He had a heavy resistance to the cold for some odd reason, so this didn't bother him in the slightest, though he felt bad for everyone else. He did agree with Ares, this was a better coarse of action rather than bending to their rules; little cold never hurt anyone, right.

Charon scowled at their so called Leader, shivering rapidly, pressed against Vensu's side. The demon growled, feeling quite a bit pissed off at the whole situation. He hated the scientists as much as the next lab rat, but, God damn it, he hated the cold so much more; as a demon he was just not built for this. "Thith ith bull thit, Thir! You hear me! Bull. Thit...," Charon snarled, fallowed by a loud coughing fit. The dark haired boy pulled the blanket up over his head, and groaned...he was sick, and this was miserable...he wanted the heat back.

Orchid squirmed in Vensu's grip. The young Healer actually agreed with their Leader despite the cold...she was worried about Charon though; maybe if her big brother would let go maybe she could help the young demon.

The angel examined Halo and gained the idea of engulfing the petite red head in his wings.. That performance would most certainly block the cold air from biting at her soft skin. Vensu was only attentive toward Orchid, his attention never straying to the body that was pushed so adamantly against his shivering figure. The tracker wanted to fire an insult toward the leader, but decided against that. As long as the girl was ok then so was he.

Ares sighed dramatically, blue orbs rolling as he fired a deadly glare to Charon. "I'm not aware of what you are saying." Making a mean comeback just to shut the other up. "But I'm sure that anything you did speak was irrelevant and doesn't give me much thought to change my mind. How about you just shut up...or should I say thut up." The leader mimicked, pursing his lips as he dared the navigator to talk back to him. Halo was possible the only one that could complain about the situation at hand only to receive a nice response. It would not hold any deadly tone in the process, just pure love and honesty.

"Can't remember the last time our leader was nice. How about you Halo? Huh? Don't you think our leader is a bit of an asshole." Pissed off from Ares' attitude, the angel responded once again although not directly. He would have the younger hybrid join in go see what the results would be. With the dark-skinned teen involved, maybe the unit 002 would change his mind.

Charon growled at the mocking...the being ignored...it seemed the only attention he ever got was of the negative kind lately. He was sick and nobody even cared, and their 'oh so great' Leader was a selfish little prick; well, at least from the red eyed boy's point of view. None of this would be happening if May had never died and Halo had never lost his voice. Speaking of Halo, the kid was actually the closest thing the Navigator had to a friend right now, especially with Orchid being the center of Vansu's world...it was enough to make him cry right now. He felt like everyone hated him...and it was not a good feeling.

"Can't remember the last time our leader was nice. How about you Halo? Huh? Don't you think our leader is a bit of an asshole."

Halo blinked at the other, looking from the shivering Vensu and Orchid, the clearly sick Charon, and back to Ares, who seemed to be brooding. While he did agree with his best friend on a personal level, he also saw what this was doing to the team. What sealed the deal was the soft sniffling his sharp ears had picked up from Charon as the small demon pulled the blanket more over his head, and the flash of sadness across the other's face before it disappeared into the shadows of the blanket. It may not seem like it, but Halo did consider Charon something akin to a little brother, even with his bad attitude, and frankly, the way their Leader treated him was getting a little on the stoic boy's nerves.

'While I do agree with you on a moral level here, Ares...I think you should have look around at our team first and consider everyone else's opinions,' The Fighter wrote out on his note pad before handing it to Ares, frowning slightly at the other hybrid.

OOooOOooOOoo

Orchid frowned at Ares from Vensu's arms, not very happy with how their leader was acting at all. Before she could comment her big brother pulled Halo into this...she didn't like the way be was acting either. "I think you both need to stop being so mean," The red head chimed in softly, looking back and forth between both Vensu and Ares, "Aren't we supposed to be a team?"

Ares vaguely scowled at Halo once he witness the expression the other was shooting him. Receiving the notepad, his blue orbs scanned over the words, emotions shifting after it was read. With a heavy exhale, the leader glanced up to the fighter once again. "Well damn well excuse me for caring about other's lives. If you want to go out and murder those innocent people who had no say in becoming such an creature, then please do lead us." Ares voiced, speaking through clenched teeth. It was true that the green haired male cared for his dark-skinned friend, although he wouldn't be so lenient on him either. It would have been worse for someone else. "You all think I'm an asshole. You know what....that's fine." Briskly standing as he waltzed to the security camera. "WE'LL DO IT. OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!" He screamed, banging on the wall as well.

Vensu cackled at the leader's antics, although he wouldn't say much so not to upset his red head. Lips set beside Orchid's ear, he began to whisper. "Forgive me. I apologize but I'm looking out for you. The tracker spoke. Running a hand along the smaller girl's leg. A sniffle caught his attention, dark colored orbs darting to the one beside him. "Um, Charon...are you ok?" A brow raised as he was listening for an answer.

Halo sighed and shook his head, he didn't think Ares was an asshole, he just had a one track mind sometimes. The Fighter walked over to the green haired teen, and placed a hand on the other's shoulder, showing him the note pad again, 'I do not think you are an asshole, just a bit bull headed. I don't want to kill them either, but what if Charon dies because of the cold...he's sick, and what if Orchid gets sick, or Vensu? The Chimera...you're right about them, they had no choice, but they're not like us anymore, Ares...they are probably more trapped then we are...but unlike us they will kill us no matter what if we don't fight them. I wish there was another way to do this, but fighting them seems to be the only way right now.'

"Um, Charon...are you ok?"

"Oh, I'm tho fuckin' peachy," The dark haired demon replied sarcastically with a fake, cheery smile, "Thankth for fuckin' noticin'!" The smaller boy broke out in a coughing fit again, and shivered. He felt like shit, but at least now Vensu noticed him...he probably fucked that up just now, but everyone should be used to his sarcasm...right?

Orchid frowned at him slightly, and pressed a tiny, pale hand against his gray skin to check his temperature. She was the Healer and she had to do her job after all.

Ares groaned at the notepad's written words, flicking his wrist to throw the light item across the room. Leaning closer to the younger hybrid, the elder teen whispered in the other's ear. "I'm tired of reading. How about you just talk to me through here." A finger being placed against the dark-skinned teen's forehead, the green haired teen releasing a fake smile. The leader was surely upset with the choice that his team had chosen. This was the last scenario he wanted to resort to, albeit he guessed it was best for the team.

Vensu dark colored orbs lingered on the gray-skinned demon for a while. The elder teen had never received such a reply as Charon had given, hence the reason he continued to gawk at the other. After a moment passed, the thirteen year old's attention once again traveled to the little girl wrapped in his wings. He gave a hiss when she reached over to touch the other's skin, managing to reach above his protective wings. Quickly withdrawing them, the blue haired male gave a sigh. Now Orchid was mending to Charon's sickness.

"Uh, about time leader Ares." The door opening with the angel's words. "I don't think I could have last any longed. Although, I'm glad you made the right decision." This response only made Area hold in his rude comment as he stormed out the room with a grumble. Cackling loudly, Vensu followed suit.

Halo sighed and frowned slightly...Ares needed to stop acting so childishly. When the door opened and Ares and Vensu started out, the dark skinned boy followed suit with a sigh. It was funny...they were all raised to be emotionless killers, but his best friend was the most emotional person he had ever met. He guessed that was sort of a good thing in a way. He stuffed his hands in his pockets, and ducked his head low, speeding up slightly to walk by Ares' side as he always had. He really hated when his friend was mad at him.

Orchid continued to look over their sickly teammate for a few more minutes until she noticed that they were the only ones left in the room. "You seem to have a bad cold...when we get back take some rest Charon, sleep is the best thing for it," The little girl explained before getting up to follow her big brother out the door.

Charon scoffed silently before getting to his feet, discarding his blanket, and trailed after the others, last one out as usual. Before he could fully catch up with his teammates a hand roughly grabbed his arm. The young demon looked up at a scientist, "What the....fuck?"

"You are not fit for this mission, you'll be coming with us," The man said gruffly, beginning to drag the crimson eyed demon in the opposite direction of his friends.

"Hey! What the fuck! Let me go you athhole! It'th juth a fuckin' cold! It'th juth a-" His shouting was cut of by a needle being shoved into his neck, and his thoughts suddenly becoming very muddled. His eyes drooped and glazed over slightly, suddenly feeling very relaxed even as he was dragged further and further away from his teammates.

Ares halted his steps when at the door of the simulation. The leader did not feel quite complete, albeit he was sure it was nothing. To have to throw away his humanity to kill the chimeras was always a difficult task to overcome for the elder hybrid. The creatures on the other side of the door was once human, despite that fact, unit 002, Ares, was yet so frightened. The monsters instilled fear into most their enemies, and the green haired leader was no acception. "I hate this." The teen whispered to himself as his hand landed atop the door. With a touch the doors opened and Ares shouggishly trailed inside.

Vensu glanced behind him hearing the small patter of feet. Upon steering his vision behind him, Vensu smiled at seeing his favorite person. The dark eyes scanned over the small body, a frown appearing. He hated when they had to do simulation, he was always so worried for Orchid. Wrapping her in a hug, the eldest of the group paused upon seeing a scientist take Charon captive. What the hell was going on?

"You are not fit for this mission, you'll be coming with us.[/Quote]

The demonic boy struggled to be free from the grasp although it didn't work. With a frown, Vensu looked back to his sister, slowly pushing her to walk forward with the leader. "I'll be back, ok?" Standing fully to walk in the direction he was sure his teammate was pulled. "Tell leader Ares I said to protect you." Vensu ended as he suddenly began to pace in a jog not to lose the man in the white coat.

Orchid did as she was told and walked ahead, but not without giving a worried glance back behind her at Vensu. She hoped nothing was going to happen to him and Charon; as mean as he was sometimes, she still cared about Charon just as much as the rest of the team. The little red headed girl walked up to stand next to Halo and Ares. She tugged slightly on Ares' shirt and muttered, "The scientist took Charon and Vensu followed them." She left out the part about protecting her...sometimes she really hated how over protective her brother was over her, it got annoying at times.

Halo's eyes widened and he glanced back quickly, tempted to go after Charon himself, but remained next to the other hybrid. He looked to Ares, waiting for his decision on the matter. It would probably be easier to leave it to their Tracker, honestly, but the decision laid with their Leader.

OOooOOooOOoo

Charon had no idea where he was going; the walls were spinning, and everything was blurry. He heard a door click open and was lead inside, and in another click the door was locked again. He was placed on a hard, cold surface, and strapped down despite his sudden lack of fight. He glanced curiously at the mirror, which he knew was really a window where people, experiments, and scientists alike could look in on the experiments being preformed. They were called a two way mirrors he thought...he never knew why the scientists installed one.

The scientist started a recorder, and said, "Today we'll be testing electricity's affect on the demon breed known as an Shade Incubus today." The man hooked the boy up to a device, pressing cold metal against the boy's temples.

Ares continued to stare forward after the words left Orchid's lips. He couldn't make any sudden movements or the men in white coats would know that the little red head girl had told him something confidential. With a glance to the glowering camera above them, Ares whispered. "We have to go after them. Those two are string but I'm sure they are unable to do this alone-" Words halting as the door began to close. "Shit!" The leader yelled, quickly dashing toward the door.

"Unit 002, you have more difficult tasks to attend to than finding the rest of your group. With you being the leader, I am quite disappointed that you couldn't assemble them all together."

"Are you fucking kidding me? Your fiends took them!" Ares screamed to the camera, kicking the door albeit it did nothing. "Let them go....or I won't fight."

A cackle bounced from the walls of the arena, a voice once again talking. "Is that so leader Ares? Well, then I suppose you just die." Now the green haired teen was smarter than the scientist gave him credit for, especially when placed under pressuring situations as such. He and Halo were the only hybrids to have lived with demon and angel blood; plus the two had ability like no other. The dark skinned teen and him were seriously the strongest amongst all the experiments.

"I suppose that is a challenge. Then release the chimeras if you would like....but I won't lift a finger to fight." --Let's see if you are really capable of losing one of your most prized possessions." Ares thought to himself, body radiating with confidence.

Vensu recovered from his slouched position, stealthy steps halting as he twisted the knob connected to the door. The tracker cursed once he noticed it was locked. He needed the men's attention on him and off Charon. With a bang on the door, face hidden, Vensu glanced around. If this didn't work he would need to find another way in. Dark colored orbs found it's route and the eldest teen smiled. He would retrieve his teammate one way or another.

Halo and Orchid exchanged bewildered looks with each other, and looked at their Leader. This was not just crazy...it was suicidal! Halo reached for his blade, which was strapped to his back. He was thankful that the minute they entered the simulation the device that was keeping him from drawing the weapon was unlocked, because they were going to need it. The little girl nervously took out a spell book from her pocket, hoping that she could at least help with her defensive and healing spells; she wasn't much of a fighter. The dark skinned teen ushered the half-angel behind him and Ares, and glared ahead with icy eyes, ready to face the chimeras.

'I hope you have plan here, Ares...because if you do not we are screwed,' The younger thought across the link to his best friend. He tightened the grip on his blade, staring over at the slowly lifting, barred doors that would soon release the chimeras. This was not a good situation, not at at all.

OOooOOooOOoo

Charon couldn't hear the scientist anymore over the red hot pain filling him, and his own screaming. Gods, it hurt! He could feel the skin burn on his temples from the electricity; not only feel it, but smelled it as well and it was sickening. Then it stopped and the scientist started muttering under his breath, and writing notes on his clipboard. The small demon laid there, panting, disorientated, and tears stinging his dull red eyes. This...this was just like pointless torture! There was no rhyme or reason to this, unlike the previous experiments he had been in; not that they were very fun either, but this was just sick!

"Hmm...that level of electricity would have killed a human...you demons sure are resilient, aren't you?" The white coated man said in a mocking tone, "Lets see if we have anything that can hurt you, huh?"

"P-p-pleathe...d-d-don't," Charon begged, eyes wide in fear as he watched the man reach for a syringe and a vile reading Holy Water. A sudden knock made him pause, but the young boy did not cease his shivering. If it was another scientist nothing would save him. He was going to die...just like May.

The scientist walked to the door curiously, wondering if one of his colleges wanted his help, or wanted to help him. He unlocked the door and opened it slightly, "Hello?"

Vensu was turning to take the path that his eyes had scoped out; albeit with the sounds of approaching footsteps, the angel halted and redirected his attention to the door. So it seemed as if the scientist had heard his ruckus. Dark colored orbs watched as the doorknob was twisted, a deadly glare building in the tracker's eyes. As Vensu crept closer he saw the head of the scientist protrude out, giving him the right moment to pull against the door and trapped the man's neck between the opening.

"It's ridiculous how you all like to torture us, huh? Go to hell." The teen gritted through his teeth, pulling against the door with much force. Soon enough he watched as the breath left the scientist's body, the man dropping to the floor without an inch of strength. Maneuvering around the body, Vensu rushed to Charon and stared down at the other. "Are you ok? Hurry, let's get you out of here." Snapping the restraints that was around his teammate.

He pulled the navigator to his feet, making distance between both their bodies after balancing the other. "Think we are able to assist my darling?" Venau asked, mind never leaving his red head. He was worried that his leader and Halo wouldn't protect her as well as he would.

XxxxxxXxxxxxxXxxxxxxXxxxxxxX

Ares gritted his teeth as he watched the steel door to the chimera's chamber open fully. Monsterous sounds being the only sound heard, beside the rapidly increasing breath of Ares, the leader decided to respond to his best friend. I don't have a plan. I meant exactly what I said Halo. This is preposterous. We shouldn't be here dammit.

A screeching echoes bounced off the walls of the room, causing Area to cover his ears. The chimera's had a way with their vocals. It was surely deafening. "I REFUSE TO FIGHT WITHOUT THEM DAMMIT!" The green haired male fussed, a chimera suddenly emerging from the steeled opening, its eyes blood red with no sense of its surrounding. This was hurtful to the leader. He didn't want to see this. Just watching such human beings, angels and demons transformed to such creatures was unbelievable cruel. "I can't do this." Area whispered, hurt lacing his voice.

Charon clung to Vensu, shivering and occasionally twitching. The normally bostorus boy remained quiet, burring his face in the other's shirt with a sob. The demon was scared, no, traumatized, and it seemed as if his so called friend's mind was someplace else. Sometimes the Navigator felt like his team only tolerated him because they had to. They would have to adjust to and train a whole new Navigator if he died after all. Charon rarely cried since crying made you weak, but he just couldn't stop himself from bawling his eyes out.

OOooOOooOOoo

Halo scowled and growled at the incoming creature. He hated chimarias...mostly because of how they were brought into this world and what they were used for. He winced as it screamed again, but didn't drop fighting stance; as he was trained to. 'We have to do something, Ares, or they'll kill us," Halo growled out in his thoughts to his friend, 'I don't want you, or Orchid to die because of this...if you wont fight then I will.'

Orchid whimpered, ducking slightly behind her older teammates, cluching her spell book tightly with both hands. Chimarias...they always terrified her. Soon more of the creatures joined in, circling the small group like vultures, screaming and shouting their inhuman cries. She was scared...were they going to die here?

Vensu dark colored orbs traveled to the crying teen attached to his shirt with a death grip. The tracker stared for a moment, heart swelling slightly from the small sobs. "I know that your hurt and scared at the moment, but staying here isn't going to make anything better. The scientist will soon awaken and call for more security. I have to get to Orchid. Our teammates need us." Darting his vision away from Charon, wondering if the other would move anytime soon. The blue haired teen was terrible at reading other, but now was different. It always have been different with the navigator. Every emotion that swelled through the younger kid's body was known to Vensu. This, of course, had caused the elder male to become uncomfortable; therefor he tried his best not to become so close with the emotional boy.

"Idiot." Vensu whispered, although loud enough for any to hear. "We all love you Charon...so can we get moving please. My baby is in much trouble." Foldong his arms over his chest.

xxXxxxXxxxxXxxxxxXxxxxxxXxx

Ares stared up at the chimeras with sorrow. This was an event that he could have surely avoided. A quick movement stole his attention, causing the leader to twirl and envelope Orchid in his arms. A chimera was inches away from slashing him; albeit the attack was never received. Blue orbs glanced up, vision being overcomed with a darker blue. Halo has managed to save him, not that he was that shocked; the dark skinned teen, even from little, had the speed of a god.

"I guess I should thank you." The leader stated lowly. Although I do mean what I said Halo. I will NOT fight. Ares continued the talk, transferring it through the link between their minds.
