Dark Destiny (Gatichan)

The war between the vampyre and lycans had been a long one. Neither side had been able to outwin or outwit the other. They both showed their strengths and their weaknesses. But now... the land they had done battle on was now a wasteland. Nothing dared to move or make a sound among the ruins of what use to be a beautiful field of rare flowers. Had either side come to terms that just maybe... they could live a somewhat peaceful life without wanting to tare each others throats out? That was the question after all, and that answer may never come.

It was midnight, he always found himself only outside during the night nowadays. He could never explain it, except for the fact that he felt comfortable in the dark. Wandering around and exploring the area that had once been the battlefield for the great war so many years ago. It was odd to him, finding that nothing but dead plants inhabited the area. Nothing ever seemed to grow here, and he just could not figure out why.

But afterall, he was only human. And that battle had been way before his time. The legends of Vampyre and Lycans had died away from the village for years, so he didnt hear much except for two old ladys that seemed to ramble on of fairy tales or so thats what everyone said. Yet, he found himself interested in what those ladys kept talking about. Beautiful, handsome and cunning creatures that seemed to never age no matter how much they had been through.

He found himself almost to curious in a way, and silently hoping to meet one of these creatures for himself. But he knew that he was hoping against everything that was logical. Vampyre's didnt exist or so his parents kept telling him when they were alive. They had past away from the plague, yet he stayed unaffected from the disease so many years before.

His gaze lifted to the sky as he stood out in the middle of the old battlefield, in hopes that maybe... just maybe he could find the truth of those creatures.

Darkness had fallen yet again and Remus sighed as he made his way over the cold stone floor of the underground cave he had come to call his over the last one hundred years. His footsteps echoed, resounding in the deep dark silence of the hideout he had chosen. Of course he had greater, far more magnificent domiciles, but he neither wanted nor needed the splendor. Pausing only briefly at a boulder of granite he had carved into the shape of a table, he picked up his golden hair clip and tied his long grey hair, gliding towards the well-hidden entrance of his cave.

Standing hidden well within the darkness of the mountain enclave, Remus took in a deep breath, carefully analyzing the scents: night, darkness, faint traces of blood, yet not human, an old hound and some sleeping birds, but that was all. There was no trace of any Lycans, yet still Remus waited for over an hour, frozen like a stature, staring out into the night, waiting. A century had passed since he had last come across his vilest foe, but Remus proceeded with caution. What for, though? he wondered as he turned his brown eyes tinged with crimson to the full moon.

Truth be told, Remus had long since given up the desire to live. The former, century long battle that had waged between Vampyres and Lycans, had cost him a lot, more than he had ever believed it ever would. His companion had died at the hands of those vile creatures and had taken not only Remus’s heart, but also his will to continue. So he was damned to traverse the earth with only the stars and moonshine as fellow traveler for all eternity, but for what? The strength to awaken and seek out blood diminished with each passing day.

He needed blood, however, irrelevant of his destructive desires. Far off, on the other side of the mountain, was a small village. Remus closed his eyes and spreading his hands, noiseless rose into the air, his long silver hair fluttering the higher he rose and the colder it became. The journey took only a few seconds and by the time he touched down outside the noisy tavern, his mind had already caught onto that of a gambler. Coaxing and luring his nightly prey into the dark alley beside the cavern, Remus viciously bit his prey’s neck and sucking out the life source, disposed of the body discreetly.

Where ought he go that night? Not that it mattered where he went- he could find no solace. A picture, however, came to his mind, the picture of a field. A field, which in his memory had been filled with colorful flowers, but which right then he knew were all dead. Remus didn’t understand his sudden desire to head there of all places, but knowing it would be deserted and that he’d be able to mull of his darkly tinged thoughts, he rose into the air again, travelling the great distance in the shortest of times.

As Remus’s feet touched down on the edge of the field, his senses sprang to life and instinctively he crouched, becoming one with the shadows: unexpectedly, he wasn’t alone. Right there, standing at the very center of the former battle field, was a human. He was innocent enough, staring up into the sky with a faraway, dream-like expression on his youthful, handsome face. With the moon lighting his face, his skin shimmered like ivory, almost surreal. But no, he wasn’t a vampire.

Intrigued, Remus watched him, unmoving. He had no interest in humans other than to feed from them, but something was different about this one. He was handsome, his shoulder-length blond hair slightly curving at the ends with a perfect nose. Closing his eyes, Remus breathed in deeply, shock causing him to start: the young man’s scent was deliciously unique. Some unknown force was calling him to approach the human, yet why exactly he didn’t know.

Remus knew the effect he had on humans. He could almost imagine the man’s initial wonderment, perhaps even reverence upon seeing his beauty, but then the horror when Remus opened his mouth and showed what he really was: an eternally beautiful, damned creature of the night. He thought of just turning around and leaving again, yet found he couldn’t. What is it? he wondered, slightly incensed. He’s only a human. He hadn’t felt this restless since…

Remus straightened. He had to approach this human- be it to kill him, talk to him or whatever. Narrowing his eyes slightly and reminding himself to walk slowly so as not to startle the man, Remus strode onto the field, remaining at a short distance from the man. And there he remained for a long while until the human turned around and finally regarded him. “Hello,” Remus whispered a greeting in his velvety voice, slowly advancing.

Lucas gaze never wavered from that night sky as he silently called for any of those creatures to find him. He was so close to giving up on the fantasy of vampires or lycans that the two ladies had described. Disappointment seemed to vibrate off of him in waves as he sighed softly. Lowering his gaze to the dead field and rubbing his neck gently to relieve the soreness from his neck. "Maybe... Maybe I am being silly thinking they exist? Afterall... everyone keeps saying vampires are nothing but fairy tales." he murmured to himself and shaking his head.

Turning to begin heading home was when he came close to bumping into a figure that caused him to back away quickly enough to fall to the ground on his ass. Groaning as he winced a little before lifting his gaze to the man he had almost bumped into. At first, shock raced over his face that someone other than himself was out here. Then his eyes widened as he had not heard anyone come up behind him the whole time he had been there. Was he to into his daydream to of noticed any noise? no... He had been waiting, listening for someone to show up with the answers he wanted. But only to be disappointed when no one showed up night after night of wishing and hoping that someone could hear him. He would of been even happy if there was some sort of sign that they were alive... unalive... something.

But looking upon this man, he didn't seem all that different than a regular human. Not that he could tell at that moment anyways. Snapping out of his thoughts as the man's words reached his ears. "S-sorry... I didn't see you there." He said softly. "Oh... Hello." He said as he lifted his gaze back up to the man that was slowly making his way closer to him. Unconsciously rubbing at the birthmark hidden on his side under the shirt he was wearing. The mark had started burning not long before this man had become known in the field where he was at. He didn't think anything of it.

Amusing. Highly amusing. The human had fallen onto his derriere upon setting eyes on him. Remus had to admit that this reaction was new to him. Even though he didn’t smile visibly, the corners of his lips did twitch infinitesimally. Not that he took any notice of this reaction, either, his eyes and mind relaying information to him that his shriveled up, depressed and disillusioned mind found interesting for the first time in centuries.

Upon having come closer, Remus had heard what the human had said. Vampires are nothing but fairy tales. So, so- this man seemed to be one of the few remaining humans in this part of the world who had heard rumors of his race’s existence. This was hardly surprising, then to Remus’s sharp eyes, he could find traces and proof of the existence of Lycans all over the field. A crushed heap of unnaturally colored earth that proved it was alien to that region of the world, the way stench in the air of still decaying corpses several feet below the earth, the fact that the dead flowers all showed in a certain direction- all this was obvious to him, yet apparently not to the human. Yet the man’s age was too young to have known of the past war- where had he attained this knowledge?

A spark of interest shortly flared within Remus, tempting him to advance closer to the human he still wasn’t decided whether to treat as prey or a toy for the night to dispel his boredom. His red eyes closed on the man’s hand as it rubbed his side in a certain area. The human probably didn’t even realize he was doing this and Remus’s eyes narrowed. What was hidden there beneath the cloth? Of course he could have easily mesmerized the human before him into revealing his naked skin to him, but something akin to fear passed over him at the thought of trying to control the human in front of him. This had never happened before and Remus stopped, irritated.

The human continued to look at him. Stupid human- had he really no idea of the mortal danger he was in? Instead of running away or at least looking fearful – what being, unless he had evil intentions, would surprise a human in the dead of night inside a dead field? – he remained where he was, simply gazing at him. This didn’t make any sense to Remus and he didn’t appreciate that, despite himself, he found the human all the more alluring the longer he breathed in his scent and smelled his blood. Yet it wasn’t right- Remus’s pride wouldn’t allow for a mere human to distract him in such an annoyingly, intangible way.

I will reveal myself, he decided, coming to a stop right at the man’s feet. The man’s face really was handsome up close and within his chest, Remus felt a faint stab as another face swam up to the topmost level of consciousness. No, he shouldn’t and wouldn’t think of him, not yet. This human…there was something about him that both taunted him to approach, yet at the same time warned him to leave. Well, maybe he should let the man decide.

“So…” Remus gently pushed his long silver hair away from his cheeks, wanting to show the human his eternal beauty before revealing himself. He smiled softly and saw that he had the human captivated- yes, of course, that was the reaction he usually got from his prey. “You don’t believe in fairytales? Then pray, tell me what I am,” he asked soothingly, remaining perfectly still save for his face, which transformed into the creature of hell that he was: his smile became an open smirk that revealed his long incisors, his crimson eyes shining bright red.

There could be no mistaking what he was and Remus patiently waited to see what would occur next. The chances that the human would become terrified were high and he decided that he’d kill the human if the same reflex reaction occurred that always did, but spare his life if the human, against all logic, showed something else but fear.

Lucas raised a brow as the other moved closer to him. Rather curious as to why this man was even out this far into the field anyways? No one ever came out this far anyways. He figured it was the two ladies warning of lycan's going and stealing little children away from their parents if they wandered out into the field to far. Or that little girls got caught out in the field would never return with odd tales of vampires entrancing their victims and draining them dry.

But the other stories of the war in this field only interested him. Tales of mysterious vampires from long ago being so kind and caring. Helping the humans in the village when they were sick and in desperate need of help. However... they had kept the consequences of such actions away from the boy. It was the descriptions of these creatures that captivated him into wanting to learn more. Unnatural beauty, charming, caring... supernatural powers...

A soft groan left him as the mark began to burn a little more than usual but he was to occupied by the man in front of him. His gaze lifted as he heard the man begin to speak once again. His face turned into shock after a long moment, one would think he would fear something that looked so... so inhuman. His gaze flickering over the man to catch everything he could within such a short time. He was at a loss for words for a long moment as he stared at this man. This man... was one of those creatures he was searching for.

A soft choking noise left him at first when his lungs forced him to breath. "You... You are one of them." He whispered in almost total disbelief that someone had managed to hear him? or was it just by chance this guy found him in a field being what he was.

The birthmark that was on his side was burning badly by this time that caused him to wince and rub at the mark this time looking down to see the mark glowing through his shirt. His eyes widened at the sight. "Uh... that's odd... Its never done that before." He murmured to himself.

-Backstory to the birthmark-

Only the ancients and elders would remember the story of the dragonslayer. Those that had done battle against the lycans had been wishing to find that very human to save them from their fate. Thinking that at the time, that battle would of been the end to the race. But after the battle had ended, most had forgotten the story or just kept it to themselves.

A bloodline... A very old bloodline that dates back to the very first vampires. A human baring a dragonlike birthmark would be found by one of our own. Some time might pass as the vampire would be quite curious of this human that seemed to allure him with hardly any effort on the human's part. But the day will come when that vampire will have to make the choice of saving the human or letting the human die. The child will become one of us and he will hold something none the rest of us can hold. A human heart. A vampire with a human heart that will learn the ways of our people. With time he will fail and accomplish things that even some of our oldest was unable to do. Once he learns how to deal with his human heart without being consumed by the darkness that threatens us all. He will become the savor of our race, because by then... our race will be in need of saving.

As was to have been expected- the human had frozen up. It was there- the fear, the horror, the shock. When he opened his mouth, Remus was sure the human would scream in terror, but much to his surprise, the man’s eyes changed to show an emotion he never would have expected. It was fleeting, but it was there. Was it desire? Relief? Hope? Remus couldn’t be sure and even though it hardly remained for longer than a human heartbeat, his sharp red eyes saw it and it was the moment that spared the human’s life.

But before Remus could properly pause to reflect on this novelty, the human’s side began to glow. Startled, the man glanced down and Remus saw that he seemed to be in some kind of pain. Not understanding why, Remus found himself kneeling down in front of the human, a magnet pull seeming to wrap itself around him, calling to him, drawing him closer to that glowing something. Slipping his cool, long, elegant fingers between those of the human, Remus tore the cloth of the man’s shirt to reveal the glow, not caring whether he frightened the human, the alluring desire to discover what was creating such a light too overwhelming.

A birthmark. A birthmark shaped as something Remus had never, in his three hundred years, ever seen before. It had the form…of…a dragon? No, could that really be so articulate? He wanted to touch the mark, feel around its contours, but again something told him that he shouldn’t, perhaps even couldn’t. A mark shaped like a dragon. How strange-

At the back of Remus’s mind, something dislodged from the almost forgotten, deeper levels of his sub-consciousness. The reference to a birthmark had caught the attention of a certain memory. Become as immobile as stone, Remus tried to focus, to grab a proper hold onto the memento, but having the birthmark so close to him, as well as the scent of the hum, feeling his eyes turning to gaze at him, this time without any fear at all, was just too overwhelming.

With a gasp, Remus flew backwards. To the human, it would have seemed as if he’d vanished out of thin air and suddenly reappeared at the edge of the field again. It was unlikely he could properly see him, but to Remus this distance was still suddenly too close. At the same time, however, he could feel the slippery memory become more solid. That was it- he needed to get away from this human who, it appeared, had been the one who had lured him to that field without Remus’s having realized it. I’ll come back- I have to. But right then, he needed to leave and as the human let out a cry, Remus jumped into the air and vanished.

Flying through the night air towards Italy, is original birthplace and home to one of his greater, secluded villas, Remus tried to straighten his thoughts. Everything was muddled and the annoying twinge of knowing he had stumbled upon something important, something impossible, something that had once meant a lot, yet which he had inconceivably forgotten had him, no sooner had his feet graced the cool terrace floor near Venice, storming straight towards his great library.

Throwing the doors open, Remus didn’t acknowledge his haste or the fact that his life had sprung free from the monotony that had incapacitated him over the past century and a half. Holding his hands out, books began to fly through the enormous library, old books that needed to be kept at a certain temperature so that they wouldn’t decay, so thick and old that the titles on the backs had almost become illegible. Snapping his fingers, candles began to flicker near the mahogany table that had originally belonged to his late father as Remus descended with natural dignity into the lush chair. Opening a promising book, he immersed himself in his study.

Page after page he turned, searching, hunting, seeking, desiring to find the word, the picture, the symbol that would refresh his memory. As the early hours of the morning began to close in around him, Remus became more and more restless. He couldn’t find any clue and yet he knew that it was there- he knew that he had once known something about the birthmark he had been witness to hours before. He wanted to stay there longer, but there was nothing he could do: the sun dictated his time was over.

As he wiped out the candles with a swipe of his arm, returning to the bedroom that no human would ever be able to see and also never had, Remus vowed to himself that he would return to the field again the next day to seek for more answers. Even if it meant bringing that human back with him to his abode.

Lucas tried to back away as the man leaned down to him, not out of fear but what the hell was this man doing?? His eyes widened as his shirt was torn and the glowing mark was shown in the night giving off an eerie presence. But it was when the vampire stopped moving and stared at the mark that caused him to raise a brow. He was about to see if the man hadn't croaked in such an odd position. Gasping as the man disappeared from view in front of him, he looked around as if trying to figure out where the man had gone off to. That was when he barely spotted the vampire a good distance away from him, sitting up straighter than before. He groaned and rubbed at the mark again, but never letting his gaze leave the man.

It was when the man was gone from view that caused Lucas the wonder if he had done something to cause the man to be afraid of him or something. Shaking his head thinking that just maybe he had gone insane and that this was nothing but a dream to him. It would explain a meeting with a creature meant to be in a fairy tale. Standing up from his spot on the dust covered ground, and dusting himself off. He looked to the mark that was still glowing a little. Maybe he could find the answers to what was causing this. The only two he could think of that might know... was those two ladies. But they would be in the bed by now.

Groaning softly, he headed off to the small hut that was on the border of the field. Maybe he could go see them tomorrow before nightfall. Opening the door to the small little hut, nothing more than a run down shelter. He climbed into his makeshift bed and curled up under the dusty blanket.

It was almost nightfall when he woke up, stretching from his bed before he stood up and made his way outside. Sighing softly as his gaze lifted to the sky for a short moment. The pinks of a sunset already starting to race across the sky. Deciding that he needed to talk to those older ladies, he set off into the village. His hands stuck in his pockets as he made his way up to their place.

Two elderly looking ladies were sitting outside in some lawn chairs as usual, chatting and laughing among themselves until the younger sister looked up to him. "Ah... Lilly, look who it is... Poor child, you need to keep yourself fed regularly. You are getting skinnier than those vampires are." Kitty chuckled softly.

However, these two ladies were physic and knew very well of the old story due to knowing one of the oldest vampires around. Yet they never really said much about the man due to secrecy. They promised not to utter a word about him, but they were one of the only humans to know about those creatures. The eyes alone shown so much age and knowledge in them weither they look so frail.

Lilly sighed and grabbed a thermos and poured Lucas some soup and urged him to eat it. "So child... I can see your mark is glowing. Is this why you have come to us? To find out what your mark is all about?" She asked softly.

Lucas sighed as he took the soup and ate it, otherwise they would keep pestering him about it until he did as told. Nodding to Lilly's questions, he sat down and began to listen as to what she had to say.

The two ladies went on explaining the old legend back and forth between the two. Every few minutes they seemed to get excited over something but he wasn't to sure why. That was until they stopped talking and looked past the boy to something that was coming up the drive and stopped behind him. He raised a brow and looked over his shoulder to see something somewhat familiar from the night before that caused him to still a little and then face the women once again.

"good evening Sir." Kitty spoke up after a while. "Lucas... do you know this man?"

Lilly however watched the man for the longest of time, instantly catching things about the man that a normal human would not see automaticly. She was experienced and well seasoned in reading people... or even vampires at that much. Oddly enough, this man reminded her of their older vampire friend.

(Hope that is good for you, Had to find a way to get your character into this one so that he overheard the story of the dragonslayer.)

(@ Nicholi you are so sly!! I was already planning on him overhearing, but from someone else lol Oh well, this’ll do ;-) )

When Remus awoke, he was instantly restless. Immediately his mind returned to the handsome human he had come across the night before and to that glowing mark. Choosing to ignore his hunger for a moment, he returned to his great library, once again trying to figure out in which book he could possibly find the secret concerning that birthmark. But as during the night before, no matter into how old the books he glanced, no matter how long he paged, he couldn’t find anything. And the lack of blood was getting to him. He was threatening to fall into a bloodthirsty rage. If he didn’t want to succumb to his sordid needs and go berserk, he was going to have to leave.

Dissatisfied and angered that he was being forced to retreat from his search, Remus used the little self-restraint he still had within him to travel to the nearest village. Not being all too choosy about his prey that night, he walked up to two overly-underdressed women and smiling at them seductively, seduced them into following him beneath a broken lamppost. Holding tightly onto one and mesmerizing her with his red-tinged eyes, he drank from the first.

It was only as he was feasting on the second woman that his mind began to clear. While before he’d only been hoping for his treasured books to find an explanation for the glowing birthmark, he suddenly recalled that he knew two human beings whom he more or less trusted. And, as fate would have it, the two older women lived near the former battle field where Remus had come across that human man. Lilly and Kitty. They weren’t his friends or trustees, not exactly- they had been Aleixo.

Letting go of the drained body, Remus closed his eyes painfully at the memory of his maker and former companion. Despite the century and a half that had passed, the hurt that hit him at when he went through the pictures in his head was extreme. Struggling against the spiral of despair that threatened to overtake him again, Remus opened his eyes and pushing off the floor, jumped into the air.

Lilly and Kitty. The two of them might remember him from the single time they had met him with Aleixo. Perhaps, even though the chances were small, they might be able to answer his questions.

The intensity of his desire for the truth and with the fresh blood in his body, Remus travelled the distance within no time. Dropping down onto the driveway, Remus froze up, immediately becoming one with the shadows when he spied through the open door and saw that the human of the night before was inside the house. And, it seemed, asking all he wanted to know. The prophecy…it suddenly all came rushing back to Remus and in that moment, he stopped breathing.

The puny human before him, the thin, yet beautiful man was to have such a great influence and power over the Vampyre race? He was the being Aleixo had been waiting for for so many years? How could he have forgotten about that myth? The first time Aleixo had told him about it, Remus hadn’t been able to believe it. And as he began to make his way up the driveway, having realized that the younger of the two psychics had already discovered him, Remus had to admit that he wasn’t so sure he still didn’t believe it all to be nothing but the rumor of an over-imaginative mind.

“Good evening, Sir,” the woman Remus believed was called Kitty welcomed him as Remus came to a stop behind the human man. Once again the man’s wonderful scent entered his nose and enticed him. The human seemed to take no special notice of him, something which Remus found both astounding as well as irritating. How could it be that a mere human could have such an effect on him, all the while not being affected at all? Lucas- so that was the man’s name.

When the human didn’t immediately respond, Remus lifted his crimson tinged eyes to address Lilly. “If you wouldn’t mind,” he began in his deep, sonorous, musical voice. “I would like to hear more about the Dragonslayer Myth. I believe, since I am the one who found Lucas, that I myself play a certain role in…whatever must supposedly follow.”

Lilly smiled knowingly, picking up her cup of tea and blowing on it. The steam that rose and surrounded her face gave her an even more mysterious air. “Please, do take a seat, Mr.-?”

“Remus,” Remus replied, nodding gracefully as Tilly gestured towards the chair beside Lucas. Gliding into the chair, Remus slowly crossed his legs over and leaned back, touching the white cravat around his neck. He could feel Lucas’s nervous eyes on him, but refrained from returning the look. Tipping his head slightly, Remus closed his eyes, secretly breathing in more of Lucas’s delicious scent. “Go on, please. I’m listening.”

(LOL, forgive me. I was unaware you were going to do something like this, but still it works.)

Lilly nodded as Remus took a seat next to Lucas. Sitting her cup down as he paused a moment as if trying to remember where she had left off. "Ah... yes. A child baring a birthmark in the form of a dragon." She began. "The parents of that child will pass on during the child's early years and he will be left behind, no disease touching him."

Lucas shifted uneasily as Lilly kept talking, the more she explained the more and more it seemed that she was talking about him. Kitty had caught the look on his face and grabbed an extra cup of tea, placing it in his hands. "Drink... It will calm you down." She said softly, her gaze not flickering towards the vampire. As if she could already see that this vampire had heard all of this before. But what confused her was why did he come here to listen to the story. Wasn't it well known in the vampire world?

Lilly paused for a moment, then went on with the myth. "One day this child will be encountered by a creature, though this creature will be severely confused and unable to understand the boy's tactics. Or even the boy's ability to not be affected by most of their powers." She said as she looked down at her cup of tea, as a serious and almost sorry look that disappeared quickly. "He will become harmed. And said creature will have to make the choice of saving the child or take the other way and be the one known as the killer of their race." She didn't look at any of them at that comment. She was being careful tho, of her words. This myth wasn't suposta be known to humans, only their old friend had told them the tale after they had gotten curious about how vampires existed.

Kitty sat up as he sister went quiet. She knew the story quite well enough to go on. "The child will become something that even we can not tell what he will become. He will be somewhat like the creature that will save him, but he was hold onto something that will help save the race." She said as she was sitting on the edge of her seat. Looking as if she could fall out of the chair any second. "A human heart is such a special thing, and in such a creature, you would think that it could not be possible for any of them to hold onto their human heart. Ah... that is where you are wrong!" Her gaze moved over to Remus.

Lilly had gotten over her little spell of sadness at the thought that Lucas would be left for dead at a thought. The boy was special to them, and they took care of him every time he came to visit. But he kept refusing to stay with them when they tried to get him to stay. "He will grow, learn and train under the one that makes him. His darkness growing with him, But that darkness must be kept at bay. If his human heart grows to cold and is consumed by that darkness, that will be the end of the race. She said sternly as her sharp eyes stared at Remus. She knew that just looking into the eyes of this creature in front of them could give everything in her being away, her thoughts, her desires, her past... everything.

"Eventually he will learn to shapeshift and turn into a creature only heard in myths way back before these creatures had even been heard of. Dragons... That is where the dragonslayer name come from. This boy will change into the legendary golden dragon and his human heart will be repaired instantly and his healing powers will be at there full. But be warned... That transformation alone can drain the being of all his energy and after he changes back he will be weak for a good while before he can do any healing. Otherwise... he will only do more damage to himself instead of good." She said, not taking her gaze off the man. No fear, no confusion... she was quite confidant in her own special gifts that she didn't fear looking into the very child of their old friend.

(OCC: hehe, I like surprises and sudden changes. No seriously, I needed more info on the myth to gauge in which direction you expected me to go)

Remus patiently listened to what the two women had to tell, masking his true emotions behind a mask of polite interest. Inside, however, he was boiling with rage and defiant reactance. Dragons, human heart, human suffering and Murderer of his Race, indeed. He sure as hell had never wanted to have anything to do with this and he now clearly remembered why he’d forgotten about the myth: the very thought of the Vampyre race diminishing had seemed like an impossibility back when Aleixo had told him the myth. Even with the imminent threat of the dreary Lycans, Remus hadn’t been able to imagine a world where no Vampyres restlessly roamed the earth.

And truth be told, while back then, with the love of his creator and a companion by his side, Remus had wanted to fight for the Vampyre race. Now, with over a century and a half of wasting away, living for what, he knew not, depression, hopelessness and grief, he no longer gave a damn. Let the Vampyre race become extinct- those creatures of the night had never been meant to be born in the first place.

And this boy, this puny, fragile, infuriatingly handsome human was supposed to be able to tip the balance? And tip the balance against what? Remus knew that Lycans still existed, but so far they hadn’t shown their hideous, hairy faces. If he were to believe what the psychic sisters were telling him, and if he believed in Aleixo, then it sounded as if he were supposed to become the teacher of this child of Man. Teach him to become some great personality with a human heart. And either kill him or…was that human woman for real? Change him!? Turn him into a Vamypre? Make him his companion?

No, she couldn’t be serious. Never in a million years was Remus prepared to have another companion. He had loved and still did love Aleixo, even if that human boy did, in a way, resemble…no. No, he wouldn’t go there. But the thought of accepting this human, of turning him and then sharing with him his blood, his lifestyle, his sleeping quarters, his lust- no, that was too much to ask. No, if it came down to it, Remus would do the only correct thing and that was to stand up and walk away from this. He wanted nothing to do with this, under no circumstances. If the human had at least shown some kind of fascination, of interest, perhaps even desire for him, maybe he could have been swayed.

Yes, Remus’s pride was hurt and for that, he was bitter and would remain it. He wanted nothing to do with some hair-brained myth and even less with this human…even though his scent was to, literally, die for.

Remus stood up, punishing Lucas with indifference for having so blatantly ignored him. “I see,” he said, smiling softly at the two sisters. They had, correctly, not offered him anything to drink- it would have been insulting if they had. They did, after all, know what he was. Bowing his head slightly, he gracefully stepped around the chair, his long black coat billowing out behind him as he turned. “I thank you for your hospitality. I shall now take my leave.”

His senses told him that Lucas swiveled around to look after him, but it was too late. Remus’s business with him was finished. He’d return to his world of darkness, alone, where he’d remain, alone, until he finally found the strength to go into the sun. Nothing, nothing could convince him of the opposite…

Remus had almost reached the end of the driveway when he heard the running footsteps. Arching a perfect eyebrow, he didn’t turn around as he prepared to jump. “If you have any sense within you, you’ll forget everything you’ve heard tonight. I don’t believe in that story and neither should you.” Lucas didn’t respond and Remus’s nostrils flared- the audacity of this human! Maybe he hadn’t been quite clear enough. Whirling around, he snarled. “Were you paying attention?! If you want to be that tragic hero, you’ll have to be turned. Is that what you really want? Do you even have the least idea what being turned would mean!?”

(OOC: Well... I was suspect the Remus would eventually give in and take Lucas away and then the real fun begins. :) Otherwise the other way may get a lil boring after a while. I mean... do you honestly want the poor lil human to die?)

The women both arched brows as the man took his leave. Sighing softly in unison and shaking their head, before Lucas stood up from his own seat and bit his lower lip. Fear entered his eyes for once in his life. If this myth was true... was this man honestly going to let him just die like that. He didn't want to die, he feared it in every sense. Maybe that is why he clung so tightly to the thought of not having to die. But he wouldn't say a damn word about that to anyone, even the two ladies knew not to speak of his wishes when they had found out by other means.

Lucas ran down the driveway towards the man, sliding to a stop and panting for air for a long moment. Straightening up once the man spoke to him. Taking a while to answer the man as he tried to find something to say to him, but before he could answer him the man had turned around to him. He felt like he was a child being scolded now, but it was the last part that caused him to still and fear clung to him. That fear could be felt in waves that radiated off of him.

"I don't know if what they said is true." He said softly, as he lowered his gaze. "I would rather live, than to die." He said, narrowing his eyes a little. "I don't want to die!" He exclaimed. "My parents died, I see death everyday... And I don't want to go through that, the pain that I see in everyone that is sick." He clinched his hands as he spoke. "I would rather be turned than to live with the knowledge that I may die soon." He said as he lifted his gaze to the man. Obviously he was upset... slightly angered... But why was he mad? There was not really any reason for his own anger except for the fact that everyone that met him left him except for those two ladies.

Blinking back tears before they even formed in his hurt filled eyes. For once he was given the gift of meeting one of these creatures, but now he was being threatened that he may die soon. That was pretty frightening. "I don't care what being turned means. As long as I get to live that is all I care about..." He paused at his own words for a long moment, but he never took those words back. He had meant what he said. He didn't know what turning meant, or how it happened. He just didn't want to die, plain and simple.

A soft groan left him after a moment, his hand absentmindedly rubbing at the mark on his side. He still didn't understand why the hell this thing kept burning at random times, but it was getting irritating. Even those ladies had not explained why the mark began to glow and burn as if it were burning into him.

(@Nicholi OCC: I’m a vain Vampyre, dude- of course I want the little human to live, but Remus, like all men *snicker* has a huge ego, lol. No worries- I wasn’t planning on killing anyone. Just @ me when you’ve posted- I always realize half an hour later that you posted and then you won’t have to wait so long until I respond next ;-))

Remus could feel some of his fury dispelling when he saw the tears that were beginning to form in Lucas’s eyes, even though the human was trying not to show them. Once again, the human had surprised him. Remus had been expecting the sorry being to run away screaming, but instead a small dam seemed to have broken. Remus hadn’t cared much for the human, but seeing the emotional flush on the human’s face as he spoke of his parents stirred something within him. Remus himself hadn’t thought of his parents in over three hundred years, the memories, since they were from before his Creation, having become blurry, albeit tinged with warmth, especially for his mother.

The human before him was afraid of dying. Yes, Remus could relate to that. He could relate to that overly well because it had been the reason he had wanted to be Turned himself. His fear of not knowing what came after death, the terror of having to grow old and become sick- all that had horrified him as a young child and had prompted him to seek out Aleixo. His creator hadn’t wanted to at first, but in the end he’d given in to Remus’s insistences.

But Remus couldn’t allow himself to make the same mistake again. Lucas was young and although that wasn’t his fault, he had to be made to understand that what he was asking for was unnatural, was wrong, was against Nature. As the human rubbed his skin, no doubt feeling the pulse from his birthmark so pregnant with promise of tragedy, Remus began to walk towards him, carefully weighing his words the closer he came. He had to make Lucas understand just what he was begging for…in a way that he knew the human would never accept.

Coming to a stop very close to Lucas, Remus smirked inwardly when he saw the young man flinch. He was afraid- good, he ought to be. Breathing in the intoxicatingly delicious scent that had a part of Remus he had forgotten and put to rest for over a hundred and fifty years stir, he gently reached up and caressed the man’s left cheek, gazing into the eyes of the undoubtedly frightened man. He didn’t want to, and if the story he had just heard was correct, it wouldn’t affect the human in any way, but when he spoke, Remus used his skill of mesmerizing to lull the man into submission.

“You want to be Turned, you say,” he quietly, melodiously repeated, not quite understanding why a thrill passed through him when Lucas groaned out quietly. Parting his lips seductively, Remus licked his bottom lip slowly, intensifying his gaze into Lucas’s eyes as he gently bit into his lower lip. Gauging latter’s reaction, Remus leaned in closer as his left index finger tenderly trailed up Lucas’s cheek to his ear, then down the side of his neck. Breathing out against the man’s neck, Remus saw the tiny hairs on the back of the man’s neck straighten- from fear? Most probably. It certainly wasn’t arousal- this Child of Man felt nothing whatsoever of that kind towards him and probably never had…which gave Remus an idea.

Opening his lips wider, he breathed out against Lucas’s neck, letting the human breathe in his own sweet scent he knew intoxicated all his prey and lulled them into giving him what he most wanted, no matter what it was he desired. “To be Turned would mean to live forever, but that as a creature of the night,” he explained, slowly lowering his hand down the human’s chest, applying some pressure at strategic points that had once aroused Aleixo without even realizing he was doing this. “It would mean you would have to give up the sunrise, the life you know, and forever live in darkness. Your only friends would be the stars and the moon, because you would forever and into all eternity be alone, chained to me, the One who Turned you.

No, you wouldn’t die, but you would soon wish you had. Time means nothing to me. The first one hundred years or maybe even two you would enjoy yourself, but then you would come to tire, to long for the sunrise, to miss its warmth on your cold skin.” He licked the side of Lucas’s neck, sure he was terrifying the human as he suddenly reached up and grabbing a hold of Lucas’s long blond hair, yanking it suddenly back to reveal his appetizing throat. Remus’s smile became all the more mysterious as he licked his lips lavishly again.

“You would go mad, desire for a way to put your life to an end, yet you would find none. Despair, darkness, depression and agony would take over all the emotions you now treasure so much as a human. That is a great prize to pay for living instead of dying. Besides, having me Turning you would also mean that you would be mine.” He leaned in and licked over Lucas’s Adam’s apple that bobbed. Lowering the human’s head, Remus’s eyes became heady. “All of you. Body, heart, soul…blood.” He laughed softly as he tilted his head to the side. “Do you begin to see?” he teased, surging forward and claiming the human’s lips, kissed him hotly, sure that this display of love, from one male to another, would completely disgust the younger man.

OOC: Sorry for the long pause. Was not expecting this type of post, then again... This should not surprise me so much as I am use to playing this type of rp. I have to say, your skills as a writer at quite inspiring. You have almost had me in the floor... Almost. Which is saying a lot cause it takes quite a bit to make me fall out of my chair. Its only happened a few times before. ;) )

Lucas lifted his gaze as soon as the man stopped very close to him, a small flinch caused his body to jerk a little. He figured the man had seen the tears that he prevented from falling from his eyes. He didn't like it when people knew that he cried or let alone seen that in him. Another flinch caused by the cool hand that reached up and brushed against his cheek. He wasn't expecting the touch to be so cold to him. But it was when the man gazed into his eyes that he found it hard to look away from him.

When the man began to speak about being turned again, he groaned a little figuring the man was going to deny him and walk away. A small shiver ran down his spine as the man trailed his hand down to his neck and then feeling the breath against the other side of his neck. The hairs on the back of his neck stood out on their own, as the breath that was breathed against his neck was a lot colder than he thought it would be. But it was the when he took a deep breath of his own that caused him to still.

The words played in his ears as the man explained what turning would mean. Feeling the cool hand slide down from his neck to his chest caused him to still even more, a soft gulp could be heard from him. But it was the last part that caused a dark blush to race across his face. He had not even considered that until now. He had been to preoccupied with not wanting to die and wanting to meet with one of these creatures to even think about things like that.

A small shudder raced down his spine as the side of his neck was licked at, only to have his hair pulled at and causing his head to be pulled back. A gasp leaving his lips and a shiver running through him. The slightly rough treatment from the man had almost caused him to squirm in the man's hold. Biting his lower lip harshly as he tried to keep from saying something that may have the man thinking a little differently of him.

As the man continued to talk about how his life would turn out, his heart seemed to pound in his chest. Not really from full fear, but something else deeper under the skin. Biting back a gasp that tried to escape as the front of his neck was licked at before his head was lowered. But his eyes were half lidded as he listened to the man more as he began to tease him. His gaze widened as his lips were claimed in a heated kiss, and his knee's buckled as the blush on his face deepen. If it had not been for this man holding him up, he would surely fall to his knee's.

His mind was racing, from one thing to another that the man had explained to him. Not able to calm his mind down enough to think clearly, but one thought stood out from all the others. He wanted it, no matter the cost. And something else began to make itself known in him. He wanted to know what else this man was capable of doing to him to cause him to melt into a puddle for him. After the kiss was broken and the blush still very visible on his face, he lifted his gaze to the man. "Please... don't let me die." His voice taking on as if he were pleading, in which he was.

The dark desire had already been born in him, and this man had only begun to bring that out in him. But if he was really to be turned.. would this man be able to handle him when it came to that? He wasn't really one to be taken so easily. Though he was still quite a virgin in the sense, He had always been a hard one to get.

(OCC:@Nicholi, I’m blushing at the compliment, thank you foxy3. Do you have the least idea how I broke out in cold sweat when you started mentioning the myth? I feel so out of my depth- I thought this was gonnna be some 24/7 vampyre tale, but it’s far more elaborate than that. And loads more fun, so thank you for your amazing imagination! ;-) )

Remus, once again, was taken aback. And he was finding that he didn’t exactly appreciate being at a loss for words so continuously and that for this mere human. Again, instead of acting disgusted and horrified, the blond was blushing in an unsettlingly arousing way that once again had Remus thinking of another. But really, the two of them were so similar, in a way…

But no, this was wrong. The man still wasn’t thinking straight and that was understandable. There he was, for the second time in his life seeing a Vampyre, being accosted by one and learning about some hair-brained story about his special birthmark. He was confused and that was alright. Remus wouldn’t be Turning him either that night nor the next, nor ever. Lucas had to put some distance between himself and what he’d learned. And Remus himself was beginning to have trouble standing so close to the human, his scent provoking him in a way it never should have.

Gliding away suddenly and reappearing at the foot of the driveway, Remus did the only fair thing he could think of doing for the human right then. Disarmingly tucking a curl of his long silver hair behind his right ear, he once again touched his cravat. “Lucas,” he said, addressing the human for the first time. “You don’t know what you’re asking for. And this is neither the time nor place to be asking for such an impossibility- wait,” he commanded gently when the human made to open his mouth, probably to protest. “You must consider what you’ve heard properly. You would hate me in an instance once you understood what it meant to really give up your human life. And if you aren’t able to appreciate what you have now, you’d not be anything like the man in the legend.”

Pulling his golden hair clip out of the way to set his long shiny hair free, Remus’s eyes darkened as they passed over the man before him. “You should take the time to seriously think over what you’ve heard. But know now that I will not Turn you. I don’t believe what we’ve heard tonight and I don’t wish to have another companion, least of all one with some peculiar myth sticking to him. You aren’t anything to me and you have no sentiments for me. Right now there is no reason for me to Turn you, but if after some time I see that you’ve not deterred and continue to wish for this sinful life, I will seek out someone who will Turn you.”

Remus had no intention whatsoever of handing Lucas over to another of his kind, but let the human think that- anything to dissuade him from seeking this wrong life. Raising his chin slightly, Remus began to summon his powers, preparing for the jump. “I will return within a week to that field. If you are still longing for this madness, then you will come as well. But think wisely before appearing. You will be allowed to ask me three questions and if you annoy me, I shall destroy you,” Remus warned, smiling coldly and revealing his true nature, something he felt the compulsion to remind the human of. “Until then, think.” And with that, he was gone, once again abstaining from stating his own name.

While he flew towards his domicile in Venice, for some reason desiring the tranquility of a home close to humans again after over a century and a half, Remus laughed to himself. A week. Knowing how fickle humans were, the time would drive Lucas half mad. And while the first two days were bound to be filled with craving for this new life, over the course of the seven days he would change his mind and realize that the price to pay for immortality was far too great. Landing and making his way to his sleeping quarters, Remus tenderly touched the elegant mirror before him. Of course, there was no reflection, but he knew himself that he was beautiful. But someone that Lucas could love? Astounded by this errant thought, Remus shook his head- where had that come from? Shaking his head, Remus laid himself to rest, distracting himself by reminding himself how much Lucas would be suffering. With a throaty laugh, his eyes closed as the sun came up over the horizon.

The week, however, proved to be almost an eternity to him. Waking up every night, Remus found himself consumed with a hunger that surpassed that ever-craving thirst for blood. He drank more than necessary, using his energy excess to travel all around the world. Up into the icy Arctic, he forged his way through the impassable snow and cold, hoping to lose the will to carry on and simply fall backwards into the snow, letting himself get buried beneath the sheets of constant snow as he had shortly after Aleixo’s death. But no matter for how many kilometers he walked, the urge to fly over to that field and meet the man he was sure wouldn’t show up only became greater.

Going as far as to purposefully travel to the last location where he had last smelled a Lycan, Remus stopped only briefly to wonder at the folly of his actions. He was willingly seeking out death as a means of not having to Turn that human? Where was the logic in that? The turmoil he was in – seeing the human who meant nothing to him versus not wanting to have anything to do with him – was beginning to drive him crazy, when it ought to have been the human who should have been going insane. The faint smell of a young Lycan still hovered inside the graveyard inside the old Paris cemetery, but Remus knew that it had last been visited a decade before.

Could the myth actually hold truth? It had been a while since he had last smelled a Lycan so fresh. Could it really be that his race was in peril? And why was it that it was beginning to matter to him? More nervous than he ever would have deemed possible on the night of the seventh day, Remus seriously considered not flying over to the field, but before he’d even thought this thought, he already found himself traveling. He had to see Lucas, he just had to His scent, his large eyes, his blond hair, his handsome face…if he really was there, Remus would talk to him. If he’s there.

OOC: Na... I don't do the 24/7 vampire thing without something interesting thrown in. XP Otherwise after about the first 25 posts, it tends to loose its luster. This way, things stay interesting for a long time. :) )

It had been rough those few last days, sleeping in his little hut beside the field. He pondered the possibilities and advantages of becoming one of them. Then the disadvantages. The advantages still outweighed the other. And right at that moment, the advantages were much better then what was happening to him. He hadn't been feeling all that well the past couple of days, a fever had broken out over his body. His face flush with a small fever that matched the birthmark. Refusing to go to those older ladies unlike most of the time when he did get sick. Which didn't happen very often.

But this sickness... this is what he feared. It had been to cold out in the hut that didn't provide the necessary heat, but it did keep the rain and snow off of him. He had caught a disease that at this time in age, had no cure. No matter what the human's did to make sure those that had the disease made it. It always ended up winning the battle and taking the life of the humans.

A soft groan left his lips as he coughed a little, his forehead already showing droplets of sweat forming from the sickness. Scarlett Fever, it started out slow. Barely noticeable at first as the fever would begin to settle in, next would be loss of appetite not that he did have one anyways. Next would be weakness and then the last... well you get the idea.

Lucas groaned once again as he sat up on his makeshift bed. It had been so long since he was last sick, why did he have to get sick now?? He pushed himself off the bed, feeling that his body was slightly weak as he faught to walk out the door. His eyes were already a dull almost lifeless color as he finally opened the door and began to walk outside... or attempt that was. But he made it out into the field, falling to his knee's into the dust covered field. As he struggled to breath, he was so weak already and tears welled up into his eyes as the thought of dying this way was cruel.

He could already feel the pain as his birthmark threatened to consume him with its fire. A soft barely there groan left his lips as he faught not to fall over, lifting his gaze up to the night sky. "P-please... don't let me die like this." He said weakly, even though his voice was barely a thread of sound. Tears could be heard in that voice, as those tears tried to spill over.

(OCC:@Nicholi, sniff, sniff- poor Lucas, you meanie!)

Within instances of having touched down inside the field, Remus knew that something was wrong. While it would have been difficult for a human to know what came first, Remus knew he had seen the human’s prone body on the dead ground just split seconds before the stabbing pain that undoubtedly came from the blasted birthmark hit him. Sighing out, his brain registered that something had gone horribly wrong and leaning forward, flew towards the body as the dying words of the human were heard.

“Lucas? Lucas!” Remus, with the greatest care, slipped his arms under and around Lucas’s frail human body, leaning his head against his shoulder. The human’s head rolled helplessly to the side and Remus felt a tremor of actual panic fleetingly surround him before pushing this thought aside. No, Lucas couldn’t be dying- how could this be happening so soon? It was true, humans were prone to illnesses all the time, but why had it had to go and happen to him in that very week where he had issued a ban?

This is all my fault, Remus thought guiltily, placing his cold, at least to the human, hand over Lucas’s forehead. It was burning up and even if Remus’s overly sensitive eyes hadn’t already taken in the deathly pallor that overcame dying person’s skin, he would have known that if he didn’t do something immediately, Lucas really would die. The myth came to mind right then and, if the situation had affected any other human, Remus would have laughed. This hadn’t been what he’d envisioned the part about deciding whether Lucas lived or died. Not that that mattered anymore- Remus knew what he had to do.

Cradling Lucas as he folded him in amongst the warm fabric of his cloak, Remus jumped. The one good thing that the past week had brought was his excessive blood drinking: he was more vital than he had been in decades. Traveling from the former war field back to his sanctuary in Venice, Remus wasted not a further minute. Already he could sense Lucas’s heart beginning to beat irregularly. As he kicked the doors to his sleeping chamber open within the very heart of the mansion, reachable only via a hole in the floor beneath a chest of solid gold no human would ever have moved, Remus fell lightly onto the king sized bed directly beneath- decadent, it was true, but his, no less.

Laying Lucas down on the bed, Remus’s dexterous fingers undid the buttons of the dying human’s chest. Pearls of sweat became visible, the exposure of skin meaning that the man’s wondrous scent became even stronger. Remus’s crimson eyes flashed and before he knew what he was doing, he was biting into his own wrist. He didn’t feel any pain as he swallowed a mouthful of his own blood and then leaned over to give Lukas a bloody kiss. The human’s body, albeit weak, cringed and he squirmed, fighting off the, to him, toxic taste. But Remus forced it down Lucas’s throat and when he had stilled, the poison causing the fever to ebb away, Remus’s natural instincts took over.

One of his incisors had grazed Lucas’s teeth in the process and now that he had tasted the human’s blood, he could control himself no longer. Licking over Lucas’s chest and growling in heat, Remus tore at the human’s clothes, exposing him. Picking him up in his arms again, Remus exposed Lucas’s head and then, leaning over, his mouth wide open with his glistening incisors showing, he plunged, driving his long teeth into the soft, human flesh.

OOC: Yes... poor Lucas. But makes for a good story. BTW... never said I was always nice. jk. )

Lucas' body laid limply in the field before Remus made his way over to him, the light in his eyes already dimming to a dull shadow. Only a soft weak groan left his lips as he felt arms around him and he was lifted up leaning into the man from the night before. Eyes closed as he was growing weaker by the moment, though his body was shivering uncontrollably. Not able to use what strength he had left in his body, his head rolled to the side almost as quickly as he was picked up. His breathing was shallow... almost to shallow for a human.

He was falling deeper and deeper towards death. Even now he was unable to feel anything around him to an extent. Not aware that he was cradled or even that he was being moved by the means of air. The disease already taking so much out of him that his heart began to beat irregularly as he was brought to a place that he would not know of. His body was limply laying in Remus' arms as he was carried into the mansion and down into a secret sleeping chambers.

A barely noticeable groan left him as he was laid down on the bed, but it was his breathing that became a little more labored yet still very shallow that would alarm anyone... human. His clothes were soaked with sweat, and his hair was dampened with the same sweat. A heartbeat skipped a few times, as if the disease had almost won. But it was the bloody kiss that caused Lucas to breath deeply ever since he showed signs of the disease.

The blood he was forced to swallow caused him to weakly try and cough up what he had just swallowed. Gagging and clawing at his own throat weakly. Though he was unable to forcefully cough up the blood that had been taken into his body with how weak he was. The fever peeked only for a short minute before it started to decrease.

The white hot pain settled in his neck at first as a loud whimper left him as he was held up against this man. It wasn't like anything he had ever known, but it was the numbing effect after the piercing bite had taken affect. It caused his body to turn slightly numb, his weak hands slowly reached up as he trembled in the man's hold on him. Clinching his fingers in the fabric of Remus' shirt for only a short moment. A soft noise leaving him as his body was slowly becoming unresponsive.

Hands fell from the fabric and his body became limp in the mans arms. His heartbeat barely even noticeable, but still there. Still holding on just enough.

The taste. The taste of Lucas’s blood was so good. It was delicious, exquisite, divine- a taste Remus hadn’t tasted in exactly 150 years. It was rich as it rolled over his thirst tongue and h greedily sucked it down, groaning as it gushed down his throat. His senses sharpening with the extra blood, Remus could taste the sickness within Lucas, but being the creature of the night that he was, it didn’t affect him. Lucas’s complexion became paler and paler and he groaned, each time with less force.

When there was hardly any blood left, Remus knew that he had to stop otherwise he would kill Lucas. But due to the delicious taste, it was very difficult. He could feel Lucas’s heart beating less and less regularly and rationally knew that he had to begin the Turning, yet it cost him almost more strength than he had within him. It had happened the single time that he had tried to Turn someone, yet he hadn’t succeeded due to his having given in to his bloodlust. But this mistake couldn’t be repeated, under no costs.

Removing his fangs from Lucas’s pierced neck with a wretched groan of dissatisfaction, Remus checked himself, using all his willpower to prevent himself from leaning over the seemingly lifeless body with the heart that was beating like butterfly wings, on the verge of dying, and finishing off the final droplets of blood. He had to make the Turn then, or it would be too late. This hadn’t gone the way he had planned it to- Lucas had neither thought this properly through, nor had he given the human the opportunity to learn the Ways of the Night, but that all didn’t matter right then.

Biting his own wrist viciously, Remus pressed his wound to Lucas’s blue lips. “Drink,” he commanded tenderly, tipping the human’s face upwards. Any normal human would be disgusted at the thought of drinking blood and since it didn’t come naturally, Remus had to squeeze drops into Lucas’s mouth. After the initial shock had passed, Lucas began to suck, gingerly at first, but then stronger and with more greed.

Remus sighed, closing his eyes a she recalled visions of his own Turning. Back then he had felt so empowered, the hundreds of things he had imagined being able to do as a Vampyre flashing through his mind, the hope and the love he had felt for his creator. What could be going through Lucas’s mind right then? Surely nothing of the sort. Beginning to feel weaker, Remus gently removed his wrist, needing to repeat this twice because Lucas’s darker side was taking over, as was his greed for blood, which had only just awakened. Laying Lucas back onto the bed, Remus only just managed to cover his up before collapsing on the bed beside him, exhausted, as the sun began to go up to greet another perfect summer day in Venice.

Lucas was fading fast as minutes ticked by while Remus drained him of blood. His body limp in the man's hold as fangs latched deeply into his neck. By the time Remus detached himself from the boy, his groans were barely even a sound. He had not even the strength left to let any of his thoughts rampage his mind. Feeling so tired and weak, his body only wanted to sleep. But the fear of dying still clung to him so strongly in the weakened state.

Slick and sticky crimson substance painting his lips did to stir him. But as his face was tipped up and the crimson liquid was forced to drip into his mouth that caused his body to struggle against the foreign act. The command that rang in his ears forced him to obey even if the command had been tender, it was as if his body would not obey him... that is if he were struggling against the idea of drinking something that a human would find revolting in every thought.

Fighting his body to move was difficult with the little strength he had. Slowly it had begun, small weak gulps of the blood that poured into his mouth. The life that was being given to him only caused his body to fight against it even if it did not show. Moments ticked by that felt like hours when he began to gain a bit of his strength back and then his hands grabbed the wrist against his mouth. Biting down to get more of that liquid to fill the dark craving that was building in him.

Hunger started to take over him as he drank from Remus. Greedily drinking with more force than before, some of the crimson liquid spilling out of his mouth as if he were unable to drink more than what he was sucking out of the man.

The wrist was removed from him almost to easily as Lucas began to clinch at his stomach and wreath against the bed. His hunger had only been awoken and was causing his body to be rampaged with the dark craving that he felt needed to be fed. Groaning with much force that before as he clawed at the bed. Yet, this did not last very long as the sun was rising and his life as a human was dying in a sense. Breathing became labored, his body finally stopped fighting against what was happening to him even when he was unaware of what was going on.

Lucas' body became limp on the bed, his breathing slowly calming down and finally came to a shocking stop when the air was released from him lungs. Hours past and it seemed as if he were dead, had the man been to late to save him?

Nails sharpened and his canines began to take shape of fangs, his lips took the color of the blood that he had drank from the man. A deep breath rattled into the lungs of the boy as the sun began to set the next night. Minutes ticked by as his breathing was shallow at first and then began to become normal, yet he was not awake... not yet.

(@Nicholi, the bal lis in your court ;-))

When Remus next awoke, it was to find a foreign body beside him. After a century and a half of having retreated to his quarters alone, it turned out to be quite a shock to find that he wasn’t alone. The instinct of danger and the reflex for self-preservation had him leaping straight to his feet and crouching into a predator prowl. His fangs bared despite the fact that right then, straight after sunset he was at his weakest, he emanated danger and death, even though he wouldn’t have been able to defend himself against someone from his race.

Realizing that the other body belonged to the human – no wait; he was no longer a human now thanks to Remus’s meddling and his so easily having caved in to the younger man’s pleas of fear at the doors of death – belonged to Lucas. Frozen as a real human body, the other man was still covered by Remus’s blanket. He didn’t move, stiff, seemingly dead, but Remus knew that he wasn’t. Lucas’s chest wasn’t moving- he didn’t need to breathe anymore, so it remained still. Still, the new skin complexion, the way his blond hair now shone lustrously- it was obvious that he had changed, yet the Turn wasn’t complete yet.

Rising out of his defensive stance, Remus returned to the bed and sitting down, gently removed some of Lucas’s blond curls aside. During his transformation, the younger man had twisted and turned unconsciously in his sleep. In his new form, Lucas was breathtaking in his beauty. Remus was forced to look away- this isn’t right. I shouldn’t be feeling this way. It had to be because he had become the creator of this new creature of the night. Passing a hand over his face, Remus decided to leave. When Lucas properly awoke, he would be hungry and for that, Remus needed to be prepared.

Jumping back into the villa he owned, Remus once again stopped inside his small bathroom that contained only mirrors and hair applications. Selecting a new golden hair pin with a red, red ruby, he traveled out onto the night. It was carnival time in Venice and the night and streets were alive with dancing, drunk, singing, happily masked people. Snatching a mask off the head of a man who was busy locked up in a passionate embrace with a woman too young for him, Remus placed it over his own face and vanished into the crowd.

This was the easiest time to find prey and even though Remus hadn’t wasted a moment’s thought about when Lucas’s training would be best, this really was the perfect time. If he was to learn how to seduce humans into willingly giving their blood to him, it had to be then. Tourists, the lifeblood of the city- no one would miss them soon, whereas if too many Venetians disappeared, suspicions would arise. The Venetian carnival would be the perfect training grounds for Lucas. First, however, Remus had to feed.

Returning to his estate, Remus removed his cravat before silently falling back into his sleeping chamber. It dawned on him that, had he and Lucas been lovers, they would have shared this chamber at night. Since they weren’t, however, he was going to have to find a new room for his fledgling. He sensed that Lucas was restless, even though he hadn’t yet opened his eyes. Sitting down beside him, Remus placed a hand over Lucas’s naked chest and automatically, Lucas opened his eyes wide. The hunger and greed had to be consuming him and Remus decided not to pull this out any longer.

Opening his white shirt after he’d removed his black coat, he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing part of his chest and neck. “You must be hungry. Come- feed,” he coaxed, tilting his head back and granting access to the second most sensitive part of his body.

Lucas as restless as he was when the man had returned to the chambers, it had no mattered as he was still quite weak. And the beginnings of hunger gripped at him so tightly that he was unable to think straight. The hand on his chest startled him as he flinched into awakening, his nails digging into the bed under him as a low growl left him from the agony that was only beginning to radiate through him. His icy blue wide gaze lifting to the Remus in slight fear unknowing what was happening to him.

It had not taken very long as his gaze zeroed in on the man as he exposed himself to the boy. A small whimper leaving him as he clawed at the bed a little before he heard the coaxing voice of Remus. It had happened in a flash, nothing seemed to move or make a sound as his ears pounded with the need to feed. And the next second, he was at the man's throat within that second. Unknowingly straddling the man as his blood stained lips skimmed over the pale skin.

A low growl rumbled in his chest, and then his fangs lengthened within that seconds notice and pierced the skin. His hands gripping Remus' shoulders as he began to feed, closing his now bright icy eyes as he swallowed at the crimson liquid that rushed into his mouth. Lucas' body trembled at the feeling of strength in the blood that filled him, as if he could feel some sort of power within the blood he drank.

Moments passed as nothing made any noise. It seemed like hours before a soft content noise escaped Lucas. Detaching himself from the man with a sweep of his tongue. Why had he done it? Maybe it was instinct that was already starting to make itself known in the boy. But it had only lasted a short moment before he found himself jumping back at how he had straddled the man in the first place.

His icy eyes wide and a very faint pink raced across his face. A faint pink?? Vampires didn't blush! That was one thing that made this little fledgling unique and Remus would soon find out other things that make this fledgling different. His wide gaze lifted as he remember what he had just done, being slightly rough in the beginning of feeding from the man. Feeling sorry for the way he had taken from the man, but he was a young vampire. He didn't know any better and only relying on instinct at that moment... well, that's how it resulted.

His hunger wasn't completely sated. It would always be there, but it was a dark thing that he held within himself that battled against something so of light that it was easy to see this boy was not your normal average vampire. A flinch ran over him at the noises around the place. Icy blue eyes darted around the area as if trying to figure out where they had come from. Everything seemed to overwhelm him all at once, a frightened look on his face as his gaze lifted to the man. "R-Remus..." He whimpered a little. As if he were searching for some kind of explanation.

Remus winced as Lucas took his first mean. As he had undoubtedly reacted the first time that he had fed, he was uncoordinated and rough. This, however, was natural. Until his fledgling learned to control his bloodlust, he was likely to kill his prey in his desire for blood. He’d soon come to realize how disgusting and useless dry blood was, even though his newborn instinct would long for the crimson liquid. It hurt a little, but Remus controlled himself and didn’t flinch. He knew that all Lucas’s senses would be heightened and that the new sensations would be frightening and confusing to him.

Relieved when Lucas at least managed to detach himself from him, Remus let out a low breath, squeezing his eyes shut and using one of his several magical powers to heal himself. Hearing Lucas frighteningly, quietly calling his name out, he reopened his eyes, astounded. It was the first time that he had heard Lucas say his name, even though he hadn’t presented himself. Looking into the confused blue eyes in front of him, Remus momentarily believed this was too much.

But in the next instance, he found the courage to do what was right. Lucas was like a small child right then, even if his appearance was that of a young adult man. He was bound to have a lot of questions, but first of all, Remus needed to make sure that the transformation had gone well.

Raising his hands to signalize that he wasn’t dangerous, Remus slid closer on the bed and wrapping Lucas up in a blanket, effortlessly picked him up. Like a child, Lucas clung to him, his icy eyes enormous. Remus fought the urge to kiss his blond hair. The scent that before had surrounded Lucas as a weak scented candle was now much, much stronger. If they ever did come across others of their race or, even worse, a Lycan, Lucas would be seen as a tasty morsel. “Relax. I’m not going to harm you. All I want to do is get you washed, clothed and then we can talk, alright? Just hold on tightly.” When Lucas nestled closer, Remus jumped, landing inside the room above.

His first stop was inside the enormous heated pool on the top floor of his estate. Fresh warm water was regularly pumped into the pool and Remus used to bathe in it with his companion. Bittersweet memories came up as Remus carefully set Lucas down on the second step that led into the pool. Stepping back and undressing as well, he tied his long silver hair up and then gliding into the water, took Lucas’s hands and let him t the center of the warm bath. The heat was making Lucas’s skin flush pink and it was there that Remus recalled how the younger man had blushed after having fed from him. He didn’t believe he’d ever seen a Vampyre flush, but somehow, the fact that Lucas had done that, just fit.

Nodding at Lucas, Remus waded back to the edge of the pool and picking up a soft sponge and some lather, returned to where Lucas was waiting for him. Standing there hip-deep in the water, he was like a siren, beckoning Remus to him, a call which Remus gladly followed. Preparing his hands with the soap, he gestured for Lucas to tilt his head back, beginning to rub the soap suds into his long blond hair, massaging the younger man’s scalp as he did. Breathing in Lucas’s scent and enjoying it, Remus cupped his large hands together and picking up water, used it to rinse the soap out Lucas’s hair.

Next came his neck, shoulders, left arm and then his right. Lucas’s back and chest. Stepping closer and closer the longer the younger man’s scent lingered in his nose, his body temperature warming, the harder it became for Remus to remove his hands. Rubbing over Lucas’s hips, belly button and then upper legs, he nuzzled Lucas’s neck, beginning to cover it with tiny, feathery kisses, not realizing he was doing it until he took a hold of Lucas’s sex and the younger man’s head turned to find him. Remus gazed deeply into the younger man’s eyes, his arousal pressing against him. Was it the steam rising up, Lucas’s scent, the sensation of holding another being so intimately close again? Remus didn’t know, but if Lucas were to lean into him, Remus knew he wouldn’t resist him, not when his fledgling was looking at him like that.

Lucas' gaze flickered around in a hurry, he would remind anyone of a frightened animal stuck in a cage and about to be devoured in a seconds notice. His gaze quickly snapped to Remus as he showed that he wasn't going to harm him, and then moved closer. A strange feeling overcame him, a feeling of needing to be closer to the one that had made him. Still a little scared, but being closer to Remus seemed to calm him down a little.

Being pulled into the mans arms after a blanket had been placed around him, he settled down from his body being so tense just a few seconds beforehand. Clinging to the man as if he were a kitten afraid of falling from such a great height. Being carried off into a different area as he clung to the man. His gaze flickered around various places. When he was set down on the second step that led into the pool, the blanket that had been around him now gone from him. The only thing on his body was the pants that he had slept in.

He slipped out of the last article of clothing before Remus took his hands and led him into the center of the pool. The warm water causing his body to shiver a moment before he settled down into the water. But it was the flush on his face that darkened a little more as he was trying not to pay much attention to the fact that he was naked in front of the man. Having Remus naked there as well only caused his blush to be a little worse. Not to mention which was plain on his face, Remus didn't look all that bad, actually he looked really good.

Blinking, he was unsure why he was even thinking of such things as he forced his gaze to look at something other than the man's nakedness in front of him. Once Remus returned to him, his gaze lifted as he was gestured to lean his head back. Doing so, that his hair could be washed. He had not remembered when he had last had a bath to be honest. Living out in a hut most of his life tends to have some disadvantages. Though he tried his best to keep himself from being to dirty.

The water that was used to rinse the soap out of his hair caused him to shiver at the feeling, or was it the feeling of the man's hands roaming over him in attempt to clean him. Fighting himself not to shudder at the feeling, it was slightly foreign to him. Yet, it felt... good. Finding himself unable to not look towards Remus as the man's hands had roamed further down to his manhood, which in turn caused his body to shudder before he could catch himself.

Not able to help himself as his body reacted so sensitively to Remus, leaning back into the body behind him. A dark blush arching across his face as he felt the man's arousal. Biting his lower lip harshly, that in turn only caused his fangs to nick the skin a little. A little bit of blood trickled down his chin from the tiny cuts.

(@Nicholi, it’s 2 in themorning here and I have a seminar today at 9  I’ll write back tonight, I promise!!, I can’t wait)

Seeing the crimson blood that appeared on Lucas’s lips as the younger Vampyre accidentally, absentmindedly bit his lower lip made Remus shiver. His face- Remus had never seen a Creature of the Night blushing so sweetly like a school boy’s as Lucas was right then. It was surprisingly hot how his fledgling had become aroused so quickly to his gentle caresses. And how his blue eyes darkened the longer Remus continued to stimulate him.

Could it be? Could it really be that his fledgling had never experienced this kind of intimacy before? Remus didn’t want to believe his luck. Could and would he possibly become Lucas’s first man? His scent, his doe-in-headlight eyes, his blushing face, his strong, young sculpted body, his insecurity right then, his obvious arousal and the blood- it was suddenly more than Remus could stand.

With a throaty groan, he covered his lips hungrily over Lucas’s and licking up his fledgling’s blood lustfully, kissed him hotly, passionately, with need. The hand that had been caressing Lucas’s hip now travelled up over his stomach, over his strong chest and moved to his right nipple, which Remus pinched, pulled, rubbed and teased. The hand that had been holding onto Lucas’s malehood began to slide faster, his thumb rubbing in circles over the tip. Hearing the shaky responses of his fledgling, Remus’s lips left Lucas’s and moved to his ear, where his elongated fangs grazed latter’s earlobe. Once again blood began to flow and Remus’s long tongue lapped it up, tracing Lucas’s delicate curve neck as he continued to tease his nipple’s and excite his sex.

It was so hard to believe that a little more than a week before Remus had been ready to give up on his new life completely. All his thoughts had circled around had been his loneliness, sadness, madness, regret. He’d believed he’d never again be able to feel anything for another being, yet there he was, now once again kissing Lucas with abandon. Want flowed through him and Remus rubbed his own malehood against Lucas’s bottom.

This wasn’t wrong, was it? Back when Aleixo had Turned him, he and Remus had already been lovers, but he and Lucas weren’t. And even though Lucas was responding, was he even doing it because he felt something more then lust for him? Do I even care? Remus asked himself as his arousal increased and the hand on Lucas’s malehood felt a tremor. Biting into his fledgling’s neck without drawing blood, Remus hissed out against the scented skin, tortured.

Dragging Lucas back to sit on the edge of the pool, he made his fledgling bend backwards so that his hands were on the heated tiled floor while his malehood was plainly visible. The sight of the younger before him was so seductive that Remus had to willingly hold himself in check. Placing his hands on either side of Lucas’s hips, he bared his fangs. “Choose,” he broke out with as much self-control as he could muster. “I could make love to you with my body, right here, right now, or I could make you feel good without hurting you. Both would be enjoyable…but the first choice would be better. But if you’re afraid, I’ll hold back. This time.”

, Lol, yea I know how that is. Personally being in college for me sucks. But so glad its the weekend.)

It had not been his fault that he had never felt anything close to this before. His body reacting so sensitively to the man's actions causing his knee's to buckle under him. A loud gasp left him as his lips were claimed in a hungry fashion, which in turn made him lean into the kiss. The hand that roamed over his body made him shudder and his eyes to fall half lidded. But it was when his manhood had been teased a little more that had him buckling his knee's even more to keep from falling into the water, a soft incoherent noise leave him into the kiss.

A small flinch ran through him as Remus broke the kiss and gave one of his ears a little attention as well as the side of his neck. A soft sigh escaped him as he leaned back into Remus as he reached back to steady himself from falling while the man explored him. As he was kissed again and feeling the arousal being rubbed against him, he squirmed a little. His half lidded gaze looking up at Remus again, but it was as his neck was bitten that he could not help the hard shudder than ran thought him.

Was it the thought of being bitten that caused his reaction to be harsh? Quickly he was dragged off to the side of the pool and being bend backwards. His hands reached out to meet with the tiles of the pool. His gaze lifted at the words that reached his ears. He was to deep into the need, and his body shuddered in result to what the man had done to him. Yet, it was the bared fanged words that caused his body to tense and he could not help but feel that thrill that came with seeing as such. Squirming a little in the mans hold on his hips as a small pant left his lips.

"p-please..." He whimpered softly. "I want it..." He whined, unable to hold back from the pleasure the man had been giving him. Unknowing to him, there would be a little pain no matter which way the man would do it. Fear... he would always feel fear, but at this moment... He didn't feel as much fear as before. He was far to deep into the need to have any fear cling to him.
