This is a rp involving the relationship between Shikamaru and Neji.

Sitting rather boredly on the front steps of the Hyuga facility, after a few more sighs, he got up and forced himself out of the manor. He decided on going through town, maybe to see if anything was there. Walking quietly towards town, he was looking at the ground, as if he were tired, though continued to follow the path until he made it there. Once he got to town, he looked around silently before continuing to walk. Maybe he could find someone to spar with him.

Shikamaru was relaxing in a nearby field. He had just finished playing some shogi with Asuma-sensei. His eyes gazing upon the clouds. He was in total relaxed mode before Ino and Choji popped up. "Lets go out to eat." Choji said as Shikamaru stood up. "What a drag... I guess if you insist." he said following the two into town.

Eyes trailing quietly from each shop, he felt his stomach clench, and he then understood that he was hungry, which was most likely why he had a headache. With a huff, he made his way quietly to a small resturaunt.

Shikamaru followed Choji and Ino to a small family restaurant. They find a booth to sit at and Choji instantly knows what he wants to order. Shikamaru sighs heavily as he stares out the window

With a small sigh, he entered the resteraunt, gazing around aimlessly until he found a table to sit at, which was coincidentally, right behind Shikamaru, Ino's, and Choji's. With a sigh, he didn't even notice them.

Choji and Ino order while Shikamaru only orders something to drink. He enjoyed the company of his friends but sometimes they were seriously too loud. He tended to drift off into his own thoughts

Neji sighed softly and got up from the table, wanting to go to the bathroom and fix his hair, sensing that a few strands were coming into his eyes. With a sigh, he got up, and almost walked past the table again without noticing Team Asuma. When he finally did he bowed lightly to them, though said nothing and continued walking towards the restroom.

Shikamaru noticed Neji walk by. He was surprised the other was eating without his teammates. That seemed a bit too lonely in his eyes. Ino and Choji were eating away and talking amongst themselves. Shikamaru's attention had been drawn towards Neji at the moment.

[{｡^◕‿◕^｡}Ciel]

The fact being was, well, that Neji was a very lonely person. Him and his teammates really didn't spend time together anymore, and when they did, it was usually just for morning training. The only one that Neji really did see anymore was Tenten, but that was on occasion. With a sigh, he entered the bathroom, and walked over to the sink, staring at himself in the mirror for a few seconds. He always hated looking at himself. Quietly, he fixed a few pieces of strand hairs and put them back in the neat ponytail that they were usually in. After that, his fingers twitched for a second before he turned on the cold water and splashed himself in the face, as if he was trying to get himself to wake up.

Shikamaru got up and went to the bathroom. "Hey! Don't you feel eating alone is no fun?" he asked Neji as the thought had bothered him. He wasn't all too curious to know but he couldn't just idle by without at least offering a place for him. "You could always sit with us. Its noisy but at least you won't feel lonely."

[{｡^◕‿◕^｡}Ciel]

"Well, Nara, it seems as if you've opened up quite bit...you never were this excited to see someone and except them into a little group to actually interact with you." He wasn't questioning him, he was just saying it as a flat out statement, "Sure, I'll sit with your team."

[azuneko]

"Its more like a brush off of Asuma-sensei. I can't get anywhere if I'm just a closed book on a shelf." Shikamaru said as he was glad to hear Neji would be joining them.

[{｡^◕‿◕^｡}Ciel]

Neji smirked softly. He did that often, to express the fact that he couldn't believe something, or he knew something was up. "Well, I'm estatic to see the new you."

Shikamaru began to walk out the bathroom and back to the table. Their food just arriving. He went back to the spot closest to the window. The space next to him empty for Neji to sit

With another small sigh, the long-haired male quietly sat down next to Shikamaru, greeting the other two leaf-nin with a respectful head-nod. "Hello, Ino-chan, Choji-san."

Choji just nods as he had begun stuffing his face. Ino smiled as he looked at him. Shikamaru was once again gazing out the window at the sky.

Neji was relaxing, his lightly closed, listening to the things around him, trying to center himself. In that process, he didn't notice that his ponytail fell on Shikamaru's shoulder.

Choji finished eating and motioned to get up. Shikamaru noticed this and smiled. It seemed like he would be able to do a little more sky gazing. He stood up only to notice Neji's hair slip off him. "Hey! Do you have some free time?" he asked Neji while looking to the side.

"Hmm?Oh yeah...right, I have some free time, actually, I have nothing to do for the whole day, given I haven't been assigned on any missions." muttered Neji quietly.

Neji looked at him. "That's good. After this come with me okay." he said wondering if the other could accompany him elsewhere for the day. He actually found someone who might be able to end some of his boredom

"Okay." said Neji, though he wondered, what was this Nara planning? He had some trust in the younger male, though he wan't sure if he should fully trust him at the moment.

Once Choji had his fill he paid for everything and they left. Choji and Ino going one way and Shikamaru going another. He walked slow enough so Neji could follow close to him. "So why are you always so distant with others?"
