has anyone ever lent their phones to a friend and then suddenly to late you realized that you left an awkward page up on the internet or you left your history...this happened to me the other day i gave my friend my phone to look something up and the first thing on the recently searched was something to do with yaoi fanfiction...and my we told her the previous month what yaoi meant omg i couldn't come up with a reason at the time but i had to come up with an elaborate explanation and somehow managed to drag KitKat into it (sorry darling@~@) i felt really bad and its still awkward, ive decided not to lend my phone out now and ive changed the password 8/

anyone had any similar experiences??

I've never had it happen, but if it did, I would expect the person to not comment on it and I wouldn't unless I was asked. I'm at an age where I'm not worried about parents or rumors at school, but if I were, I would tell the person who used my phone: That I was curious about what all the talk was about and did some research. End of sentence, no further embellishment. That isn't lying because you were curious and you were looking it up. From that point on, I would check my phone before handing it over.

I'd say most of my close friends are mildly weirded out by my love of yaoi, but they've accepted what I enjoy (haha) and are mature enough to handle finding it. I can't say the same for strangers or acquaintances, but they aren't a problem because don't lend anything to them. It can get a little awkward if I leave some tabs open, but it's a don't ask, don't tell situation, and they know me well enough to know they really shouldn't ask :D I don't lend my phone to anyone, but I happens occasionally when I bring my laptop around.

My phone doesn't have internet and I keep my browsing history off, so I can't say. They've walked in on me watching yaoi (Junjou Egoist couple), but all they said was, "Yaoi? (insert homosexual insult here)". lol

I don't know if it's similar but...

A few days ago I was showing my mom a list of universities from Japan. And that list was somewhere in my bookmark bar. But yesterday I realized that near the list were links like: "Gay Asian Porn Tube".

My mom didn't say a think. Probably because she knows I'm watching yaoi...but...It's still kinda embarrassing xD.

Never has anyone I know seen my internet history, but they have seen a few yaoi-related subjects appear on my screen. First, my elder sister has seen me reading yaoi, to which I always click to another tab or minimise the window. She did not know what it was, though. [sweet victory]

Last week, actually, I was showing my uncle something on my laptop when I had to type in a link. Well. It seems I forgot that I searched for a few yaoi blogs with "explicit" names. . . That was an awkward atmosphere for the next few minutes. haha.

I haven't have someone borrow either my laptop or cell phone so far, so they can't look at the browser history or so. Even if they did see it, my friends and family wouldn't be surprised. They know I'm reading yaoi and they aren't bothered with it.

The only awkward situation I can remember relating to my laptop was when I got a new laptop (to take with me to university because the battery lasted longer than my other one) and my mum and sister decided to surprise me with putting up a screensaver of my favourite manga, which is Kuroshitsuji.

They searched for a nice image on the internet, but because they haven't read/seen Kuroshitsuji before (only know how the main characters look like) they didn't know that Sebastian was shown seducing two women (one in the manga and one in the anime) and they initially thought it was some kind of porn manga =_=

I had a hard time explaining that no, Kuroshitsuji isn't a porn manga and nothing explicit is shown; only the beginning where he starts his seduction. :cuteonion58:

Strangely enough, my mum didn't make a fuss when she realized how explicit my yaoi manga can get :cuteonion9:

My friends are kind of open, and some of them are yaoi fans, so we all keep each other open to their internet history links and stuff.... almost everybody has similar history anyways lol

But as for my family, different issue. whenever anybody enters my room, I close the tab.... recently I've even started to open a good nerdy ebook pdf underneath the tab to not look suspicious.... I'm getting skilled at hiding day by day:hamtaro-005 (21):

Thank God it's never happened to me. I don't surf yaoi sites on my cell phone- I only have this link, but it goes directly to my message box and there aren't any telling pictures there. But on my laptop- I wouldn't know why I should leave my notebook lying around open if I'm reading yaoi. That's something I do when I'm alone and no one can walk in on me :hamtaro-005 (6):

I usually delete my history before i go to bed. Or, if i get up to do something and they get curious, i lock my phone or take it with me.

I password protected my laptop so I won't ever need to delete my internet history. Haha however I do delete when others need to borrow it and they use it under my strict supervision haha :D

However, this is not about internet history I have 2 blogs, a personal and a yaoi blog, but recently I unknowingly reblogged a smut scene in my personal blog where my non-yaoi fan friends follow and saw that. It was suuuuper awkward.. i immediately deleted the post when they told me my blunder. Haha ^ ^

Sure I've had that problem.

My parents could check the internet history if they wanted to so every night I had to delete all of the 'suspicious' sites but not everything, otherwise they'd catch on that I'd been doing something...although that's probably giving them too much credit.

In highschool, around the time I watched Queer as Folk, I had loads of wallpapers on my phone of Justin and Brian kissing and basically being naked. At some point I decided to use one of these as my screen wallpaper. One of my classmates, can't remember why, took my phone and saw the wallpaper. He made a comment like "you like gays" and I just stared him blankly and said "problem?". He was taken aback and just handed back my phone, and luckily for me even if he told someone they wouldn't have believed him since he was always the one making stupid jokes about people, but I did get a bit worried since most of my classmates were pretty much a*******.

XD Most of my friends know and accept the fact I'm a huge perv so if they're on my phone or even my computer nothing really surprises them.

Though one time at work I was talking to this new guy in the break room (He was really cute mind you) and I was showing him an app on my phone and I had the background at the time set to a Ghirahim/Link (Legend of zelda skyward sword) Pic. I x'd out of the app without thinking and he totally saw the pic. He paused for a second and was like "Oh, that's an...interesting picture of link..." lol, sorta embarrassing but totally funny at the same time.

Thankfully, I'm way too paranoid when I want to keep things private. I would probably seppuku myself to death if this happened to me LOL.

I always clear my internet history when reading yaoi mangas. I also remove sites with the keyword 'yaoi' on my internet browser :)

Goodness, I'm your contrast, I never clear my internet history, I have the 'Open Previous Pages' function on my Browser, so you'd be met with lots of xxx yaoi if you open it (haha) and all my screensavers are yaois, I think this way my family are turned off from borrowin' my stuff :p

I make sure to always delete it if anyone's ever going to use my cell or laptop. I've gotten way to used to this.

It never happened on my laptop because sometimes when i browse yaois or whatsoever related into it, i use incognito window or maybe clear all the date i've browsed on my laptop.. but when we're talking about phones.. hahah my friends but not family, read a lot and saw a lot of smuts in my phone and don't give a care at all. it just happened that they're already used to the fact that they're dear classmates is a pervy and reading smut yaois and ecchi mangas. *.* /shies/

It happened in my previous work with my senior. He's just tweaking at my phone and I'm just so confident that I've never save yaoi pictures. Later did I find out I left an erotic manga page in chrome. And when he saw it, (he kept tilting his head to understand what's wrong with the picture)

"So uh you're into that----silent types are really deadly."
He then pats my back awkwardly as he return my phone back.

And from then on when he saw me watching him interact/ bully/ giving a noogie with his male co-workers he approaches me and teases me if I like that stunt or were they fckn' compatible. I died. He's a devil.

@gin hahaha your boss seems to be fun

To me, it never really happened as i only travel in the yaoi and adult world in my personal computer and phone, which NO ONE is suppose to go into anw... But when they still do..... well, my gallery has ALOT of yaoi pictures lol, so i just stare at them with a smile on my face, enough time to make them feel awkward that they even went through my stuff without asking lol.

Yes....i am shameless and open about my tastes lol !

This hasn't really happened to me, except for once when I was reading one BL fanfic and I left my computer on the kitchen table while I was away for a sec. In the meantime my mother got back home and probably saw my computer on the table. I don't think she read anything, but there was this gif about guys kissing and it was kinda awkward, but my mom didn't say anything about it nor did I. It wasn't anything big anyway. She has seen some BL manga around my room too so I think she gets that I like stuff like that. But yeah.. I'm so old already that it isn't really a big deal or anything. =)
