Fantasy mage/magic user whose emotionally stunted

So I have a mage character I wanna play with whose got extremely high powered magic but they are tied to his emotions so he's grown emotionally closed off and has comes off as unfriendly and stand offish, insensitive and responds to everything with sometimes harsh and cold logic. 

I would love a top who would do anything and everything to push his buttons to get past that hard and brash outer shell and bring this mage's underlying emotions. The rage, the vulnerability, and even the nativity this mage blocks off and hides from the rest of the world.
