356 Posted June 7, 2025 Posted June 7, 2025 (edited) Sorry. I posted this once, but mimo_jp reproduced it somewhere, even though I had included a watermark in a different work I posted previously, so I am deleting it. I will not be posting on this site anymore. Edited June 7, 2025 by 356 4

sayorenjo Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Hello. Wouldn’t it be better to avoid sharing books that have only just been released? I thought this was already a fairly common understanding, but at the very least, I believe the basic premise should be that we buy the authors’ books and support them. Edited 5 hours ago by sayorenjo

Wouldn’t it be better to avoid sharing books that have only just been released? I thought this was already a fairly common understanding, but at the very least, I believe the basic premise should be that we buy the authors’ books and support them. The series was originally released in print and only received an ebook version a few months later, so I think that's perfectly normal. My concern is mainly when sharing Korean titles, since they usually require a waiting period. For Japanese works, however, a large portion of the revenue comes from physical book sales, and many of these titles are already quite popular. That's why I've considered sharing them a few days after the ebook version is released. If that turns out to be problematic, I'll reconsider my approach. Thanks for your comment! sayorenjo Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Thank you for explaining. First of all, I’m sorry, but I don’t have enough knowledge about how Korean comics are usually released or sold, so I can’t really comment on that part. Regarding the Mamita title I mentioned, I was referring to 10 Things I Want to Do Before I Turn 40, volume 3. From the official information I found, both the print and ebook versions were released on 10 June, so I don’t think this was a case where the ebook came out several months after the print version. Also, I don’t think Japanese comics can really be described as mainly dependent on physical book sales anymore. The market is now heavily digital, and ebook sales are a significant part of it. There are, of course, cases where a print-only title later gets an ebook release, or where there is a small gap between print and ebook releases. But when both formats are planned from the start, I don’t think a gap of several months is generally common. With that in mind, I feel there may be a slight misunderstanding about how Japanese BL comic releases and sales usually work. If what is being shared is the ebook version, I think it makes sense to consider it from the perspective of readers who want the ebook. From that point of view, sharing it so soon after the ebook release feels questionable to me, especially when thinking about the author. This is only my personal view, but I wanted to comment as it was something I felt concerned about.
