Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. well our postal system is a bit confusing but the way I understand it is that the first 3 letters come from a particular city and where in the city a letter/package is being delivered like for Leeds in England, for the town centre it would be LS1 because it is the centre of the town so it has to be number 1 and then it just spirals outwards to oldest village to newest. Like there are 53 sub villages classed as part of Leeds (it used to be a town but now it is classed as a city, like Manchester or London) and which village its for depends on what number it got designated years ago. Like Bramley is classed = LS13, Armley = LS12, Seacroft = LS14 Pudsey = LS29 ect. I hope this helps you understand bit better. But I am not a post office assistant so I dont know all areas lol The last 3 letters of the post code are random so no area has the same alpha-numerical code.
