"And so is the Golden City blackened

With each step you take in my Hall.

Marvel at perfection, for it is fleetting.

You have brought Sin to Heaven

and doom upon all the world."

-Canticle of Threnodies 8:13-

"The chantry teaches us that it is the hubris of men which brought the darkspawn into our world.

The mages had sought to usurp Heaven, but instead they destroyed it.

They were cast out, twisted and cursed by their corruption.

They returned as monsters, the first of the darkspawns.

They became a Blight upon the lands, unstoppable and relentless.

The Dwarven Kingdoms were the first to fall, and from the deeproads the darkspawn drove at us again and again until finally we neared annihilation.

Until the Grey Wardens came.

Men and women from every race, warriors and mages, barbarians and kings...The Grey Wardens sacrifieced everything to stem the tide of darkness...and prevailed.

It has been four centuries since that victory and we have kept our vigil.

We have watched and waited for the darkspawn to return.

But those who once called us heroes...have forgotten.

We are few now and our warnings have been ignored for too long.

It may even be too late, for I have seen with my own eyes what lies on the horizon.

Maker Help Us All."

"We bear a sacred burden.

For an age, we have protected the lands of men.

But now, a blight is upon us and we dare not falter.

Regardless of race, noble or commoner.

The best must take up our banner to save us all from annihilation.

We are the Grey Wardens.

Join us."

Alistair believes his mother to have been a serving maid who died giving birth to him. He was raised by Arl Eamon Guerrin of Redcliffe. The arl's wife, Arlessa Isolde suspected the reason her husband took an interest in the welfare of a servant's child was that Alistair was Eamon's son. She insisted the boy be sent away to the Chantry. Isolde's suspicions were unfounded, however. Alistair was not Eamon's son, but King Maric's. Eamon sheltered the boy to hide his existence from Queen Rowan, Maric's wife, on the advice of his friend Teyrn Loghain Mac Tir. His illegitimate status notwithstanding, Alistair's parentage makes him a possible heir to the throne, after the demise of his half-brother King Cailan.

Alistair was trained to become a templar for many years by the Chantry, this being how he learned most of his skills. He was found to be ill-suited to a life of religious devotion, however. When Duncan, a friend to his father, found him, Alistair had not yet taken his vows and was desperately unhappy. During a tourney held to honor the Grey Wardens, Duncan decided to recruit him. Alistair was not the most skilled fighter, and was bested by acclaimed templars such as Ser Eryhn, a woman who wielded a sword and shield with unequaled grace, Ser Talrew, leader of many victories against the Chasind, and Ser Kalvin, one of the finest blades in Ferelden[1]. Despite this, Duncan admired Alistair's character above the other templars present. Sensing that he had a good and loyal heart, Duncan used the Right of Conscription to force the Chantry to hand Alistair over to the Grey Wardens before he took the sacramental vows. The Grand Cleric did not wish to let him go, but could not supersede the Right of Conscription.

Ellian was in the woods following a group of traveling humans. They were wearing strange armor and seemed like they weren't normal travelers. The blond elf hide behind a tree as he watched then noticed a man who looked very familiar. Duncan? It was then he noticed they knew the trail to his clan. It must be him.

He ran ahead to the Dalish camp and stopped before the keeper, "we have men approaching."

Marethari nodded her head, "thank you Dallan."

As Duncan approached the keeper and him stepped aside to speak. Ellian watched them for a few moment before Tamlen walked over to Ellian, "whats going on?"

Eliian shrugged his shoulders, "I'm not entirely sure but that's the Gray Warden Duncan that came by a few years ago."

After some time Duncan came back out from the Keepers hut and over to Ellian, "I believe you're that Elvan boy I met a few years ago. I would like to ask you to join the order of the Grey Warden's." The older man smiled at the blond Elf.

Eliian was taken back and looked at him, "you're not serious are you?" He felt the joy leap into his throat.

Duncan nodded his head. That was when the Keeper joined to discuss him joining the Grey Wardens. After that Ellian left with him. Waving goodbye to his group he smiled softly. Of course he was happy to explore the world, he had been wanting to leave for years but at the same time leaving home was scary. Either way he followed Duncan to their next destination.

Circle-of-Magi-Concept-Art-dragon-age-origins-16832486-786-548.jpg

The Circle of Magi is allowed to take any child, usually age 6 to 12, from their families as soon as they show signs of magical ability. Even a royal child would be taken, should they show magical potency. The Circle then raises the child until they are a young adult, at which time they must either undergo the Harrowing or be made Tranquil.

The Harrowing is a secret rite of passage that the Circle administers, without warning, to adult apprentice mages. The apprentice is exposed to a demon under controlled circumstances in order to prove that they are strong and willful enough to fight off an attempt at possession. On the other hand, Mages who are too weak of will to resist demonic possession or appear to be dangerous are forced or, at times, willingly volunteer to go through the Rite of Tranquility, which involves the use of a lyrium brand to cut off a mage's connection to the Fade: they can no longer dream. As a side effect, their emotional center is utterly removed. It was believed that demons cannot possess the Tranquil. In the mind of the Tranquil, there is no passion. They keep to themselves, and, if asked directly, will readily agree that having the opportunity to live out a peaceful and useful existence is far preferable when compared to what their alternatives would have been.

On all this aspects, one such mage had been passed through and through. He had shown magical potency at the age of two and had been forcibly taken from his family when they tried to resist. The parents were killed and the babe had been watched since then. He grew to a fine young man, if not a little bit isolated because of his combined race and the fact that he looked neither elf nor human. The first plan of the college was to make him tranquil, but First Enchanter Irving thought it to be a huge mistake. He was fifteen and they decided to let him take the harrowing, regardless of the fact that he was three years below age. Irving was outvoted and the young mage faced the demon, three years younger than his predecessors. They expected him to fail and the templars were ready to cut him down at any moment, should he become an abomination. But he did not, much to the astonishment of all the enchanters and templars that had been present. After that, he had been under that tutelage of Irving himself to become the next First Enchanter. Four Years and up to date, he had been the youngest Senior Enchanter the Circle of Magi had seen.

"Irving, no!" Was the resonating ring of Gregoir's voice. As Knight Commander of the templars, he had a matter to say on what he and the First Enchanter were discussing. And said discussion had been going on for the most part of an hour. Fenrha flipped a page of the book that he was reading, Mages: Maleficarum and Abominations.

"The army at Ostagar needs all the mages that the circle can give." Irving interjected yet again. And Gregoir sounded like he was growling with frustration.

"The Circle have already provided the army with Wynne, Uldred and most of the other Senior Enchanters. We cannot give anymore, even if he is your pupil!" Irving sighed and Fenrha marked one line on his book with his finger as he looked at their guest. Duncan was his name and Fenrha knew that the man had been in his harrowing, four years ago.

"Then," Duncan finally spoke, Irving and Gregoir stopping their argument immediately. "I invoke the right of Conscription and take Fenrha under my wing to become a Grey Warden." Silence reigned and he continued. "As much as we need mages for the army, our need of Grey Wardens surpasses it." He looked at Irving then at Fenrha as Gregoir stepped out of the room, silently muttering to himself. "Join us."

"Being a Grey Warden is a calling, Fenrha." Irving stated silently. "You will battle the darkspawn, protect people and guard the land. Your skills would grow to it's potential with them, but you might never return here again."

Fenrha stood, closed his book and nodded. "This will still be my home, First Enchanter." Then to Duncan, he said. "Give me a few minutes to pack my things."

It's been already 2 years or more, since Reno was made a Grade Warden, he was one of the most capable and the most powerful sorcerers in the camp where the king himself was, it was rather interesting how many power Seen have shown, but this didn't mean that he was a bad person, even though he was one of the best sorcerers on elemental magic, he was also and one of the greatest healers in the whole camp, his spells was powerful, and he could cure everything... except death.

However seems that Reno have shown capability to hold person's soul inside the body in rather quite powerful trapping magic and to heal him slowly but completely then releasing the soul which was going back inside the other male's body, many of the sorcerers which was in the camp, was looking up at Reno, he showed amazing power and when he is on the battle field, powerful enough to conquer even a fierce storm mixed up with fire and ice-snow storm, he was rather quite unique individual, his home was once the Magic Circle Tower but no one there was looking much at him, except one person Fenrha was his name, he was rather quite close with Reno and seems like he have learned a lot from him, however Reno've shown that he helped not just to Fen but and to many other new magicians which just came at the circle.

"Today the recruits are coming, Reno. Do you look forward to them?" a rather familiar voice would spread around, when Reno looked at the person he had blond hair and blue eyes it was King Cullen (I think this is the correct name), the King have grown quite fondle towards Reno, showing that he was even protecting him when they was against dark-spawns hordes, they had together a lot of battles but Reno haven't shown any interest towards the King, he was after all a king and he need to give a born of a child.

"Not really. It will be probably as usual, some of them will die others won't even survive the woods." he would say rather cold looking back at the blank horizon in front him "Seems like every year, the number of survivors decrease, last year we had just 2 survivors, this year I am not sure if we are going to have even 1 survivor." he would say as he would bite lightly his bottom lip, one of the people who died last year it was a knight towards Reno was quite close, and towards he have shown himself as a nice person, he was rather interesting individual Reno... he himself was picking certain people in front which he could show the real him, with the warmth heart and with a real smile over his face, but this haven't happen recently, the King would look to the side feeling a bit bad for Reno "You lost Azrael back then, he was rather strong warrior I don't know why he didn't survive, the ritual, I was hoping that he did but he didn't." he would say sighing softly and reaching for Reno's shoulder squeezing it a bit, Reno would not react much he would just keep starring at the view in front of him, it was too silence for him, and he didn't feel quite safe like that.

Alistair had been waiting at Ostagar for the other to arrive and prepare for the waves of darkspawn to start hitting the front again. Their waves had gotten larger since he had been asked to meet Duncan there. He knew Duncan needed more recruits so he was preparing to help them along.

Being an ex-templar meant that he tried to steer clear of the mage's in the camp. Everyone being on edge because of the battle made him want to kind of hid away. He spoke with King Callen briefly about Duncan returning with a new recruit then he returned to his tent to have a snack. A couple other to be Grey Wardens were there and he really hoped all of them would survive the joining.

~~~~
Ellian sighed softly as he waited outside the tower of Magi for Duncan. This place was so... tranquil here and it felt almost forced. People were kept inside that tower just because they had magic. He never doubted his Keepers abilities so why did humans? Weak... human were weak creatures.
Sighing Ellian watched as the boat returned and he saw Duncan with someone else. Putting his hands on his hips he watched as the... templar? Was that what Duncan called him? Either way he stopped the boat at the dock and the blond Elf watched as they stepped foot onto land once again.
Fenrha noted with detached interest that someone was waiting for them. He knew that the man was Dalish. He had seen some of their pictures and descriptions in the archive. He also noted that the man was smaller in comparison to him or to Duncan, who was taller than Fenrha. A familiar thought occurred to him then. Why were elves small in stature? In all of the books that the library of the Circle contained, not one of which explained nor given him the answer. He knew that the Dalish had been powerful at the time of Arlathan, powerful enough to make them a threat to the Imperium. Even so, he had no qualms about them, on the contrary, he found them fascinating and for a moment, he wanted to know who his mother was. But he shrugged the idea as unimportant as Duncan motioned for the elf to approach them.
"We will be traveling to the ruins of Ostagar." Duncan stated as Fenrha nodded to the elf. "To the hitherlands, north of the Kokari Wilds. There, the King had assembled his army at which point the two of you and some others will be undergoing the Joining." He nodded lightly as they began to walk. "The journey will take two to three days. I am hoping that you will be able to keep up." His last words were directed at Fenrha and the mage found it annoying that Duncan would think that he had no stamina.
"I can keep up." He stated indifferently. "I can even make it faster for us. Instead of three days, I can make it so that we are fast enough to arrive there in a day and a half time." Duncan raised his eyebrow at that.
"I did not know that you studied the School of Creation." He stated mildly and Fenrha shrugged.
"Not entirely," He admitted. "Just the spell Haste and some of my minor modifications to said spell."
"Then make it so." Duncan chuckled. "We have little time to waste."
Fenrha nodded, extended his hand and cast the spell, not even feeling the slight decrease to his mana pool. The spell made it so that the three of them could move faster, altering the time that it took them to create movement. And almost in a blur, they leaped and ran towards Ostagar.
Reno would raise his eyebrow, he was feeling slight disturbance in the time pool "Someone is using a time magic..." he would say grinning and remembering that he was showing on one of his students how to work better "Ah... who knows seems like we will meet again." he would say as Cailan will look at Reno questioningly. Reno could recognize this magic power anywhere, it was one of his student mates, with which he used to train it was definitely Fen, or at least he was calling him like that.
"Guess, I will have to join into the Kukorai Willds, this testing season, hope that okay Cailan?" he would ask the other as he raised one of his eyebrows towards the king, as Cailan would smile and nod "That can be arrange, I will talk with Duncan when he comes back, to let you go as a Warden with them, and just to make sure that you won't do something stupid we will send Alistair with you too, he was the last year new recruity, it his duty to join in those tests." the king would say, in his kind of cocky voice as Reno would nod.
"Thanks your majesty, and I don't mind Alistair I actually quite enjoy on this fun guy." he would say and bow lightly as the King will chuckle "That okay don't worry about it." he would say playfully as Reno would smile turning once more towards the view in which he was starring so bluntly. It was near time, the sorcerer which was using this time spell, should be arriving slightly in a few hours, it was almost midnight when he though about that, seems like he didn't really take a nap, some of the guards would pass and greet Reno, as he would nod in respond, seems like this night he was staying with the guards on post.
Specially in those old ruins of Ostagar, there was always few wizards which was staying awake with everyone, just to make sure that if the guards needed help or healing they could provide it, Reno wasn't exactly of those guardian wizards, but for tonight he could take lead of responsibility, many of the rest of the sorcerers in the camp have deep respect for Reno, he have shown them and saved them more then twice for the years in which he was part of this society, but everyone could say that Reno, was way more better in healing then in damaging so they was doing their best to make sure he stays in this role when he is around them, even though Reno claimed that he balance the two powers, the sorcerers didn't agree with that, they knew that Reno damaging power is weak but his healing powers were beyond imagination.
Ellian was surprised at the Mage's power, but also uncaring in a way. This man looked to be human... maybe a mix with Elvan as well. His care lessened and he continued on his way. The blond Elf wanted to learn about the world and so far he wasn't liking what he found. People locked up just for having the magic they were given.
The whole trip he spoke only a little and mostly to Duncan until they reached the gates of Ostagar. They were at war. This would be his first experience with such a thing. Of course he dealt with men who had darkness in their hearts, but this was different. He'd never faced a darkspawn before.
~~~

Alistair approached Reno, "their here." The dirty blond told the Mage. He had already upset a Mage not to long ago by delivering a message so he decided it was best to stay on the down low for now. Besides Duncan asked him to play nice and he was really trying too but things kept happening.

"We need to prepare to take them out to gather what we need for the joining," Alistair turned and headed back over to the large fire that they were to meet at.

Fenrha looked up and beheld Ostagar. It was teeming with people, both warriors for the King and Grey Wardens. Then a thought occurred to him as he subconsciously ended his spell. If all of Ferelden's Grey Wardens were here then it would mean that Reno was here too. He frowned, noting that a few personnel were already stationed at the front as if they were expecting that they would arrive at that precise time. Fenrha knew that the man in gold armor was none other than King Calain himself.

"Duncan!" The King greeted and the Warden Commander seemed surprised that the King was there to welcome them.

"Your Majesty, I did not-"

"Expect to have a Royal Welcome?" Cailan interjected and Duncan nodded. "I had nothing much to do. The army is ready and Loghain is constantly annoying me with things that I could not care for at the moment." Then he looked at Fenrha and the elf. "And are these the new recruits that you have gathered?"

"Yes. Let me introduce you, Your Majesty-"

"There's no need for formalities, Duncan." Again, Cailan interjected. "We'll be shedding blood together after all." The King stepped forward. "Ho, there friends. I hope that you've had safe travels?"

Fenrha nodded indifferently, not really paying much attention and the King must have noticed because he had diverted his attention to the elf. It wasn't that he wanted to be impolite to the King, no. He was just curious as to what had been happening there since the start of the attacks. "-I'm not even sure if this is a real Blight." Was the last part of the statement that Fenrha missed.

"You sound very confident of that." Fenrha stated silently and the King laughed.

"Overconfident, some would say." He stated chuckling. "But I must cut this short. Loghain is expecting me." Then he left.

"You two," Duncan started, looking more troubled than before they arrived. "There is a Grey Warden, by the name of Alistair, near this part of the camp. Go and look for him." Then he gave Fenrha a look. "I think Reno is also in the vicinity, you might want to say hello to your old teacher."

Fenrha nodded and walked beside the elf. "Any idea about the Joining?"

Reno would smirk when Alistair came to see him "That is rather rare Alistair, to come yourself and talk with me, I though you hate mages." he would say playfully as he would chuckle, the other return to the fire for the next few hours, Reno didn't move much from his spot, he just went one or twice to the toilet but that was rare, he would see the two males coming from his spot, grinning when he saw the King meeting them, as he would turn around and join next to Alistair to the fire.

"So ready to meet the cute new guys, Alistair." Reno would say teasingly, at Alistair and he would notice the light blush on the other male's face, 'So he came finally, Fen... the one who I trained to be better in his magic, even though we are about the same age.' he would think to himself he was rather happy that Fen was here, it was a big relief for him, at least he wouldn't feel lonely through the nights. Reno and Fen always had this special connection between them, many of the other students noticed that and even though that they are lovers or something like that, but it wasn't nothing like that, but yea it was truth Fen was the only who could make Reno to relax, and talk with him, to be himself.. till others Reno was rather closed in himself and cold towards them.

Reno would smile when he notice the other two approach them it was really Fen, the only person for which he wait for so long to join the wardens he was sure that Fen is strong enough to become one, plus Fen was a year or two or may be few older then Ren, now when Reno though about it, he couldn't remember how old was Fen but he was sure that he was older then him, Reno would grin widely when the others finally approach "Hey there Fen." these will be the only words which left the healer's mouth.

Ellian looked over the King wondering why people would allow one person like this to rule them. Of course they had the keeper but all of them would decide together even if the Keeper had the last call on it. Either way he wasn't fond of these humans.

Looking to Fenrha he shrugged his shoulders, "I'm not sure but he didn't mention it until now. That doesn't bode well." The blond started walking into the camp.

Alistair made a face as he talked with Reno. Yes mage's made him uncomfortable but it wan't like he didn't trust them to have his back, he just wasn't sure about them sometimes. The dirty blond man looked over at the two approaching, "welcome to the party."

Ellian looked at Reno then to Alistair before he nodded. Both humans... He sighed softly and crossed his arms, "lets get this over with."

Alistair smiled, "so eager I see. We need to head out into the woods to get what we need but first we need to talk to Duncan." Oh these people were going to be fun. He knew about the other Mage but now he also had a Dalish Elf. Things would certainly be interesting.

"I'm not sure but he didn't mention it until now. That doesn't bode well."

Fenrha nodded lightly. The Joining itself was a mystery, even to the most learned scholar in the circle, although he figured that ALL the Grey Wardens knew what it entailed and that they just preferred to keep it a mystery. A secret, even.

"Hey there Fen."

Fenrha diverted his attention from the Revered Mother, who was saying some platitudes to the soldiers, and looked ahead as a familiar sight greeted him. There, standing by the pyre was none other than Reno. And a dirty-blond guy, who he assumed to be Alistair. And Fenrha noted that the guy had some resemblance towards Cailan, but he shrugged it off as a trick of the fire.

"Reno." He intoned, nodding as he and Ellian, he found out his name when they were traveling, stopped in front of them. Reno had been-is a friend to Fenrha, that he could admit easily. They both trained together and sometimes even taught each other some random things, from magic to basic knowledge. There had also been a time that some of the apprentices and a few mages believed that they were lovers. Fenrha had no qualms about that, he did not care and at that time, his and Reno's friendship was the only thing that kept him sturdy from his lessons. Then Reno was invited to join the Grey Wardens and although Fenrha wanted to stop him from going, he held his own counsel. It was Reno's decision after all. And because he looked thrilled to be accepted.

Fenrha had not taken their parting well and the event had made him more isolated than before, only concentrating on his studies and learning things gave him enough solace that he would not remember his loneliness. And two years of that had made him a bit indifferent, mostly towards his feelings and also sometimes, to other people.

"I see that you guys have made some sort of introductions." Duncan stated and Fenrha rolled his eyes. "You will need to go out into the Kokari Wilds and collect two vials of Darkspawn blood." He looked at Alistair and Reno. "Alistair and Reno will accompany the two of you. You also will need to find the ruins of a Grey Warden tower just near a toppled tree to the south of the wilds. There, you will find old Grey Warden documents. Take them and bring them back here."

"Documents?" Fenrha asked, looking as bored as ever and the only thing that suggested that he was listening intently was the look in his eyes.

"They are old treaties that had been made since the first Blight." Duncan replied. "We may need them in the future."

Fenrha nodded. If the darkspawn were as monstrous as the books in the circle stated, it would be interesting to see how they would fare against them in an actual battle. Then he crouched, opened his bag, took out a couple of potions, mostly healing salves and liquid lyrium, and pocketed them before he stood. "Let's get this over with."

Ren would chuckle softly at the other demanding position as he would shake a bit his head "When did you became such leader?" he would ask the other with a smile over his face, Duncan would look at them both a bit suspiciously, but Reno will give him a harsh look, meaning to hush and look to his bussiness, there wasn't many people who would dare to oppose the king or Duncan himself here, but Reno was exactly this person who didn't really care, and if he want to oppose someone he would do it as he should be, he wasn't afraid from anything.

"Let's go then, we have much to talk Fen." he would say grinning a bit, as he would walk after the other, when they approached the door the guard there will look at the group saying that they have no right to leave the camp, Ren will step in front the rest and look at the guard "Owii, open that damn door! We have stuffs to gather for the ritual!" he would say rather harsh, as the guard will bow down to the group and step aside letting them to open the door, there was a lot of people who didn't liked Ren here, he was too harsh, sometimes too cold, it was rare to see Ren with a smile over his face if they have to be truthful, the young sorcerer was rather disliked here but they knew that he is a strong mage and he will never betray the king, which he proved more then twice "Okay... now we can go." Reno would say with a smile towards his old friend, and turn around to can he continue walk forward.

Ellian looked at Duncan as he spoke of these vial's they would need from the wilds. Darkspawn blood huh? Those creatures that they will protect people from from now on. Wait... ritual? Vials of blood. This was getting into magic now wasn't it?The blond Elf nodded his head in understanding of what they needed to do.

This... Reno, was rather strange to him. He didn't really care for his brash personality or his harsh words. He was taught how to speak to people at a young age and learned his place early on. Otherwise he would have experienced a harsher life in the wilds. At that moment he missed his clan, his kin. Taking a deep breath he followed behind and adjusted the bow on his back.

Alistair followed close behind and smiled softly, "yes yes calm down Reno. Their just doing their job." The dirty blond man stepped forward and turned to looked back at Reno waiting for him to lead the way. It wasn't a mystery that Alistair preferred to follow. He wasn't one for harsh words instead he liked being the funny guy and make friends with whoever he could.

Meeting the new recruits was interesting. One seemed rather anti-social but he was Dalish surrounded by humans. It wasn't like they were on good terms. Then the other was another mage who probably didn't like too many people either. Also Alistair was once a Templar, well almost one, so he was a little on edge around them anyway.

"When did you became such leader?"

Fenrha shrugged, taking in the look of calm boredom. Two years had changed many things. Things that Reno would know, but would not have thought of. "Irving is still teaching me," He started, looking up and wondering silently if the sky would be that clear when the fighting would begin. "And I now have two apprentices to teach." He shrugged and corrected himself. "Well, I did have pupils. But now that I'm here.." He let his sentence hang. Reno would understand.

"Let's go then, we have much to talk Fen."

Fenrha grunted lightly, his lips curling downwards at Reno's rudeness. It wasn't that he didn't like it nor that he particularly cared about the people that received his harsh words, no. He was indifferent about it, but he just couldn't help think that after two years, Reno had changed very little. In the Circle, Reno had been a bit mellow and most of the time he was only talking to Fenrha, save with his teachers. It seemed that one of the things that Changed about him was that he now spoke to other people. Fenrha's lips twitched at the thought that even though his words were cruel, he still talked to people.

"Talk about what?" He stated more than asked, in a voice so monotonic that if it were food, it wouldn't have any flavor. Fenrha really had no idea what they should talk about. Sure, there was the two years without any sort of communication between them, no letters, no anything. But he had forgiven Reno for that. He had forgiven him weeks after he left and he had been busy enough not to really notice the passage of time. "We-"

Fenrha's sentence was cut short by a low, rumbling growl that stated that something was in the same vicinity as they were. He looked further and noticed an upturned wagon and a pitiful husk of a man, crawling away from what seemed like a group of ten or more darkspawn, lead by an Alpha Hurlock.

Reno would look forward rather serious, raising his hand over Fen's mouth to can he cut him short "Shush... Darkspawn... but what they are looking here... they shouldn't be here at all!" He would say look at Alistair to confirm his thoughts, this was definitely a darkspawns, and it was rather strange for them to be around here, Reno will notice the guy who was hurt badly as he will walk forward not really fearing from the darkspawns "Alistair, take their concentration over you till I heal this guy!" Ren would say, he was acting a little bossy but that who he was, for the past several years many things changed in Reno, and he became great leader for many people, he would raise his hand over the fallen guy as a golden circle would describe around the guy, and trap him inside a golden light which was going up to the sky, as his wounds would start slowly heal.

"I won't manage to heal him completely because I will need to heal Alistair in a bit but I will be able to heal just good enough for him to walk..." Reno would say completely ignoring the darkspawns, which was gathering around more and more was coming, it took him just few seconds before Reno to took the casting spell shorter and stand up aiming his hands for Alistair bright white light would fall down upon him as he will heal him and not just him but everyone in the party.

The Reno will pull his hands back up as a bubble will surround everyone, it was a defensive spell, to can they protect themselves from the upcoming damage, it could be said that Reno was way more powerful then he was 2 years ago, the hurt guy will stay behind Reno, not moving from his spot, seems like he wanted to tell something, but Reno decide to leave this decision and the questions to Fen, after all he was 'the leader' in the group.

Ellian walked with them glancing at their surrounding and noticed that man a couple seconds before the rest and had already drawn his bow. He raised a brow, "those things look disgusting." He let the arrow go shooting one in the eye. As he stepped towards them he let more arrows go.

Alistair nodded to Reno and ran forward bashing his shield against one of them then sliced another in half. As he drew their attention he glanced back to make sure Reno was alright with the fallen man before he continued his battle. He was honestly surprised at how quick on the draw Ellian was. The dirty blond man noticed one break off and had to push through the darkspawn but he would be too late.

Ellian stepped between Reno and the creature as he stabbed a short sword through his chin causing blood to splatter on his body. The blond Elf reached out and removed one of his arrows that he shot this creature with a moment ago. He then slipped it on the bow and took another darkspawn out.

Alistair panted as the battle came to a close. He was covered in blood that was mostly from the creatures and walked back toward Reno, "you guys alright?"

Fenrha watched the three of them cooperate, not really caring that he was just standing there observing and doing nothing to help. He knew that they could easily eliminate the entire group without him helping them. Then just as the battle was over, something caught his attention that he almost didn't hear what the others were talking about.

Amongst the littered corpses of the darkspawn group, Fenrha noticed that the Alpha Hurlock's remains was not there. He had been so busy watching the movement of his two companions that he didn't even notice that the leader was missing and he had gathered that the other three were also busy on what they did that they too did not see when the leader of the darkspawn group had vanished. The information disturbed Fenrha. A small meager group of darkspawn would have been easily defeated by the crew of the caravan.

"That's not the end of it." He stated stiffly as a cold sweat tickled his spine. The once incapacitated man, looked at him and Fenrha noticed recognition flash before his eyes and the mage knew that the rest of the ambush party was behind him. He turned and cursed, motioning with his hands for his companions to stop in their tracks.

In front of him was a group of thirty or more spiders, all of them the size of a cow. But the most noticeable among them was the Brood leader. It was a small brood and Fenrha knew that the Queen would have more servants, but the size of the Leader still daunted him. The Brood Leader was about the size of a normal house and upon closer inspection, Fenrha knew that the monstrous spider was corrupted with darkspawn taint. He looked up and found that his theory of the remains of the Alpha Hurlock was correct. Just somewhere between two large branches of trees was the evidence. The body so thin, it was evident that EVERYTHING inside had been sucked out.

"Reno," He began in a voice calmer than a still lake. "Use Glyph of Repulsion. Gather them in one area." He looked behind his shoulder. "Alistair and Ellian, help Reno. Don't let a single spider, especially the brood leader, move out of range. Let them stay in one place." He murmured lightly and wondered if they even heard him. "Kill as much as you can." Was his last statement before he began his chant.

Reno would look up at the new recruited elf as he would nod at his simple question, standing up now after all the heals which he do before, he would step in front the elf as he watched Alistair fight he raised his two hands and the sky start changing in bright dark color, where the clouds was spining forming small hole up in the sky as brighter light will drop down and cover the whole place, healing instantly everyone, he would then pant softly from the major cast as he would look at Fen, and nod slightly.

"Alistair, Elf, gather everyone and keep them on one spot!" he would say as he would start casting the spell which the other asked of him, it won't take much time the spell wasn't that hard, at least not for Reno, his eyes would look at Fen he could say that the other was casting major DPS skill as well, he would arch his brow as he would step backward when he finally done with his spell.

"Your turn." he would say looking at his old friend and student, there was no one who needed heal or something like that, Reno made sure that the spell before that kept healing his party members over time for a short amount of time so he wasn't really worried he was keeping his allies healthy.

Alistair nodded his head and started pushing the creatures into one spot. Bashing them back with his shield he laughed and kicked another. Fighting these creatures was terrifying but it needed to be done. The dirty blond man grunted as he sliced and fought them with all he had.

Ellian took out another with a shot to the eye then turned as one sliced at his back cutting three scratches across it. He gasped in surprise then the pain set in and he groaned softly. Grabbing his short sword he turned stabbing the creature through his neck. The blond elf screamed and turned slicing at another creature's stomach. He panted hard as he went taking them out and pushing them into the spot that the other requested.

roc___fire_tornado_by_jollypiik-d5gqy40_zps5863c8f5.png

Fenrha needed not to concentrate on this particular spell. It was basic and simple. Nothing more. He finished his chant just as he extended his arms.

Senior Enchanters called it Inferno and if one would witness it from the inside, the name would be fitting. Fire descended from the sky and wind carried it around and all of which were controlled by Fenrha. Basically, it was a burning tornado but the scale that Fenrha had created it showed his natural alignment to the elements. The flames extended over twice the diameter of the Glyph that Reno had made and it towered and reached the sky. But they were in the open and Fenrha had to struggle to control it, lest his spell might engulf the entire forest of the Kokari Wilds.

He looked inside the swirling flames and had to stop himself from smiling. Reno's Glyph of Repulsion had done what he had expected. It had neutralized the escape of the spiders and they all squirmed and screeched as they were cooked inside the vacuum of flames. Fenrha narrowed his eyes and had the glee to watch the brood leader shrivel up and burn.

"Pathetic." Was his silent words as he ended his spell. He looked around and noticed that Ellian and Alistair had some wounds, nothing serious and those could be mended by potion or by Reno's spells. He walked towards the wounded man and gave him a blank look. "Back to the camp with you." He mumbled lightly before bending down and retrieving two vials of blood from the darkspawn corpses.

"Let's go." Were his words as he started to walk.

Reno would look towards the other raising an eyebrow "We have one more job Fen, we need to get those pages... from the heart of the forest, we can't leave." he would say looking at the other and then at Alistair to get his approval those documents was important ones and if Duncan said that they need them, means that they need them no matter what.

"So we have to continue," he would say raising his hand as golden gentle light will spread around and surround everyone healing their wounds easily, grinning lightly at his successful spell "You've approved a lot Fen, before you had so much struggles casting this high rank spell, that I am surprised how easily you was able to do it now, and control it to the fullest... ah 2 years gap do so much differences." he would mumble sighing softly as he would stand up.

Looking around for anymore enemies which wasn't around thank god, he will pat gently his cloths and look towards Alistair with serious look "We need to get those documents no matter what, your job as a new members of the Gray Wardens is done Fen, if you want you can get back with our little rogue friend, and me and Alistair we have to get those documents... however if you decide to stay... we can assure you that nothing bad will happen to you, because we are the few of the most high ranks Gray Wardens, we are good at what we do;" he would say clenching his hand lightly into the fist "And we don't want to put you in anymore danger, it might end up bad;" would be his last words as he would step forward to can he enter deeper into the forest.

Alistair felt the wonderful healing magic spread over him. He had to admit that was a nice thing about mages. Opening his eyes he looked over at Reno for a moment and heard him speaking then reached out grabbing his shoulder, "don't talk like that. You'll scare them." The dirty blond turned to the others.

"Don't worry about it. Darkspawn are about but we're not about to walk into the horde. The building is just a little further South I can see the top of it from here," Alistair turned to follow Reno into the woods. He was pretty used to this mage at this point so he didn't mind correcting him sometimes or even apologizing for his words.

Ellian watched them for a moment before he to stepped forward, "we were chosen, we're not backing out now." His voice was deep as he spoke. The blond elf had a very strong nature about him even if he was fairly silent. He was missing his clan a bit and worried about Tamlen. Knowing his clan was moving North it made him nervous about his friend whereabouts.

He stumbled a little and shook his head. The keepers magic had mostly healed him but he was feeling it starting to drag on him. He couldn't wait to be out of these woods and feeling better.

Fenrha blinked, crossed his arms across his chest and gave a chilly glare at nothing in particular. He knew that they had one more job. He knew the importance of those documents. And he knew that he needed to get a hold of his temper before he shot a fireball at something moving. He knew too that Reno just talked that way, but dammit! Nobody called him a coward, even if it was in a subtle way!

He straightened his spine and followed the others, still emitting a glacial aura around him. "I know." Were his words as he took a considerable distance away from his three companions. "I wasn't planning on returning yet." Fenrha gritted through his teeth, his hand unconsciously moving towards his dagger and gripping it until his knuckles turned white. "And I can also assure you that I can take care of myself perfectly. I am not your student anymore, Reno."

He knew he was being a bit harsh and he was trying his hardest to seal back his emotions inside the bottle that he had placed them in, but some just kept spilling through. He did not like it if someone or anyone thought of him dependent on anyone else. He was independent and he was not a coward. If he was, he'd long become a tranquil. But he wasn't and everyday he braved the fade on every sleeping moments.

Fenrha looked up and had to hide his surprise as he beheld the ruined Grey Warden tower. He was surprised that they have arrived there without any incident, but he had a feeling that there was something to be careful about the area. There was a broken chest and from the looks of it, everything inside was either looted by scavengers or had been destroyed.

"'Tis a curious sight." A new voice suddenly stated. "You come here in this darkspawn filled wilds of mine and poke among bones and ashes that are long since forgotten." A woman emerged from one of the upper rooms and made her way down broken stairs. "Are you a scavenger, picking through rubbles or are you an intruder, setting up camp." She looked at them and Fenrha knew that this woman was an apostate. "What say you: Scavenger or Intruder?"

Ren will chuckle softly as he will look towards Fen, and approach him and patting playfully his shoulder "Really now? I can sense the whole negative energy building inside you, personally I think you look very cute when you frown like this." He will say grinning slightly, letting slight smirk to escape from his face features.

When they approached the old tower so to speak, everything was destroyed and in ruins Ren didn't like to see such important historical places ruined like that, he will kill anyone who dares to make fun with history, he will notice that the chest was broken, and the documents was missing but he won't say anything at first, he will wait for Alistair to find this out himself.

However something else caught his whole interest, a dark aura spreading all over the place and approaching even closer to them it was the Witch of the Wilds, or at least she looked like one.

Ren will glare at her, he instantly didn't like her "Look little bitch, we are here on Warden business you better tell us where are the documents from here, or I will personally rip off your heart and tear off your skin, piece by piece!" He will say looking at her with deadly and cold glare, he really really hated her, from first impression.
