Name: Park Eunsoo

Birth date: 13.04.1999 (18 years old, Korean age 19)

Birthplace: LA, California

Languages speaking: Korean, English and Japanese

Skills: Dancing, Rap, Singing

Lacks: He is very hot-tempered and he often doesn’t like it when someone tries to correct him when it comes to dancing, since he is a professional dancer.

Eyes: Dark brown (yet he often uses blue lens).

Hair: Black.

Height: 5’7’’

Weight: 54 kg.

Sexuality: Bixesual

Any specific things: He has a tattoo on his upper back, a small phoenix.

Motto: “Dancing is my drug. As long as I can, I dance.”

Biography: He was born and raised in America. Eunsoo has a kind of difficult character, as he was independent his whole life, even though he is the youngest among his four other siblings. He is dancing since six years old and that’s why dancing is everything for him. He has won a lot of underground competitions in America, yet not a single one was enough to make him famous enough, until he came back to South Korea and was taken in a dance crew named: TWE (Team work is everything). His parents both live in LA still, as well as his siblings. He is living on his own in Seoul, working a part-time job. He usually takes a lot of care for his looks and uses lots of cosmetics, even make-up. Besides dancing, he is quite good at rapping and singing, but his strongest side is dancing.

He applied for the show, because he wants to become an idol, as he wants to use his talent fully. Even though he isn’t that tall, he is often told that he is really handsome. His teammates also support him for his decision to go in the show and let everybody know about him and his screw. TWE are like many other boy bands, dance covering others’ famous songs in Hongdae, that way both enjoying their time, earning some extra money and trying to break through all the other guys with their talent.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was a day, like any other one. Seoul was as busy as always. Everything seemed to be fine, yet for him, it was a very important day. Today he would be able to finally show himself, his talent, his crew. Eunsoo got up from the bed, his next step being to take a shower, so that he'd be able to get himself awaken. For the past few days, he was dancing in the small dancing studio his crew and him were renting every month, until god knows what hour. At times it would be 2AM, other times he would leave with the sunrise and get himself just two-three hours of sleep, before to go to work. That was his daily routine for the past two years, since he came back to South Korea.
As a kid, who had lived with his parents his whole life, it was really tough at first. He could barely find time to actually enjoy his free time, as at first he had to work in two, even three places. He had some relatives in Seoul, he had the money, yet he wanted to start living on his own, suck of always relating on his parents. His mother would always call him and beg him to stop, but he wouldn't.
Now, he was already working only one part-time job, yet enough for him to live well, that helping him to have time to find his crew as well. It was such a luck that he was noticed...that he noticed them. One night, after his shift was finished, he decided to pass through Hongdae, as he was just enjoying seeing people dancing a lot. It happened suddenly. There were TWE competing with other non bandmates from the crowd. He decided to give it a try and right away, he was taken in the band. That's how his dancing skills improved even more.
Remembering these old times, Eunsoo smiled at the mirror, as he was already done with the shower, checking on himself. He was indeed good looking and he knew it. As he walked out with the towel wrapped around his body, the young boy opened the closet to check out for any nice clothes, taking out his favorite skinny black ripped jeans, along with a fresh pair of black boxers. As he took the towel off, he quickly got into the clothes, before to take out the hairdryer, taking care of his wet hair, yet totally forgetting the time, as soon as he was finished, he checked it. "Damn it, I am going to be late!" There was like one hour and a half until the casting was starting. He quickly grabbed a white slightly over-sized T-shirt, along with his black sweater, dressing himself in them, before to get in front of the mirror as well. He managed to finish his hair quickly, applying just some BB cream on his face, not even having time to put his lens, as he got the snapback on his head, grabbed his black bag and checked if everything was there, before to grab the keys, put the bag on his back and get himself into one pair of white sneakers. He was ready. One hour left. He had to hurry up!
Unlucky for him, the metro has passed right before him and now he had to wait more. 5 minutes wasted. Eunsoo looked around, people not even bothering to look at him, everybody busy with their phones - one thing he hated in Korea. Even when he was out with friends, they were often just staying on their phones, as if they were at home. As good as the technology was, just that bad and toxic it has become as well.
The next metro has came. He got inside and took a quick sit. 40 minutes left until the casting was going to begin.
Biography: A lot of people didn’t know about him until he made a name of himself when he debuted in 2013 with the idol group “Trickstar”. They used a lot of high level moves in their dance, even taking some techniques from fighting forms in it which made it a tat bit cooler for the public to see. They gained popularity within just a few months, skyrocketing at once. Believe it or not, they managed to keep their popularity up at all times and are considered to be one of the legendary idol groups in South-Korea and maybe even in other countries as well. The members didn’t change a lot, only becoming more mature by the burden they carry on their shoulders. Still practicing for their shows and music videos as if they were rookies. Of course there were times they just had to let go and be goofy or it would’ve become too much for them to handle. Now Young-Ja, who’s in charge of rapping in the group, got asked to star in a survival show and judge the people for their performance. At first he was reluctant but with the approval of his members, he decided to join.
Members: Han Jae-Hwa [main vocalist aka Jae [1992]] / Ka Min-Gyu [main dancer aka Mirror [1992]] / Nam Chang-Min [leader, lead vocalist aka Chang [1990]] / Tae Jung-Woo [maknae, lead rapper aka Wooz [1994]]
---------
Before the alarm started to ring, Young-Ja was already up and awake, scrolling through his phone only to see him being tagged in the survival show. Fans being enthusiastic about him appearing on there as it had been a while since they’ve seen him on variety shows. It had been months since he appeared on any of them and he couldn’t help but to feel excited as well. The adrenaline that pumped through his veins made him feel as if he could climb a mountain in just one walk. His eyes twinkled as he saw the several headlines for the show and possible candidates who could star in it. So once his alarm went off, he got out of his bed and went to the bathroom where he took a quick shower. The scent of lemon surrounding him as he stood in front of his closet.
Deciding to wear just some black pants and shirt, a brown jacket and black combat boots. The accessories weren’t a lot but still matched the outfit, making it a whole. Nodding to himself as he took one last look at himself in the mirror before going to the kitchen were one of his members was already sitting down at the table. Greeting each other tiredly the moment they saw each other. Talking about the show that was going to start in just an hour. He was lucky that it wasn’t that far from the dormitory they were residing in, only taking about fifteen minutes to arrive. Though he’d need to be there at least half an hour beforehand in order to get his make-up and preparations done. Also, he didn’t want to be late for the first day on something as important as this. Taking a bowl of fruit salad that Chang-Min had made not that long ago together with some orange juice. He finished everything quickly as he heard the doorbell ringing, indicating that it was his manager who came to pick him up. Chang-Min opened the door while Young-Ja made himself a sandwich fast for the go and hastily made his way to the van that was parked outside.
Sitting at the front as he didn’t want to sit at the back despite his manager’s protest. He easily got carsick and the front was the best solution as it would take longer before he would feel anything from it. Sometimes he took some medicine for it but only for the longer trips as they tasted horrible. After a fifteen minute ride, they arrived at the building, seeing that a lot of people had already gathered. He was kept at a safe distance once he got out of the vehicle, waving and smiling towards the fans as he passed them by. Not having the time to stop for even a few seconds as he didn’t have much to spare. They easily found the make-up room for the mentors who already went up the stage so it seemed.
The make-up artist touched up his face in a fast pace, making him impressed with her skills. She was indeed pretty good as he saw the end product which was his face. Giving her a small shoulder pat before going up the stage as well. Being greeted with a round of applause of both mentors and the public. Being embarrassed as he was still a bit to the late side despite hurrying himself up like that before. Apologizing to them before taking a seat at the very end next to Sunny from Girl’s Generation. He had seen her around before and if he remembered correctly even starred in a variety show with her a year ago. The other were Yong-Hwa from CNBlue, Ken from VIXX, Hyorin from Sistar and Yunho from TVXQ. It was quite the line-up to see.
After a few minutes of talking, the show started and participants started to fill the stage one by one, showing their skills to the mentors and public with their uttermost best. However not all of them possessed the necessary skills and didn’t went through. It was indeed survival of the fittest.
As soon as he got out of the metro, Eunsoo was forced to run the left 100 meters to the building, if he wanted to have some time left in case he had to fix something on himself. He had to thank himself for being a dancer, as his legs were trained well enough to manage to last the run. The weather was perfect as well, so he didn't have to worry about sweating at all. He was sure that anyways he might have to perfom a few times, as he heard it has happened to many other survival shows like this. As everything had to be perfect, they'd make the participants to perform two-three, even four times if needed. What a pain.
Finally, he managed to do it on time, slightly left out of breath, yet there. Ten minutes left until the beginning. He did it.
As soon as he entered the building, there were people awaiting for the last participants, thanks god, he wasn't the only one, obviously, as he was handed a number by which he'd be called on the stage - 50. It wasn't his lucky number, but it was still not a bad number. Maybe after all, he'd be able to make it through the first round.
While deep in his thoughts about everything, he didn't even realize that he has arrived to the waiting room, as he opened the door and bowed to the many other participants waiting for their turn to come. Many of them were from cover dance groups like him. Starting with DOB, Maxxam and many others that people knew about. Eunsoo looked around, waving his hand to a few guys from Diana, who also decided to give it a try. Excellent dancers were gathered in the room. Yet, he was confident, that he'd be able to do it. Yeah, there were many others who would probably be known better then him, yet that's where his band and him were about to shine. He had to protect the name of TWE.
Leaving his bag aside, Eunsoo used the chance that there were mirrors, as he grabbed a small bag, where his make-up was being held, with a few quick touches, done with his face completely, now everything left to do being to wait for his turn to come. Even though he was confident, his heart was seriously beating all quickly, while he was resting on one left empty chair, after the serial few people left for the scene.
Some passed, others didn't - something that was expected, yet still surprising as some of the guys were people that Eunsoo knew pretty well. If they couldn't make it, what were the expections of the public and more importantly, of the mentors then? With a small sigh, he heard his number finally being announced, as he got up, fixing his shirt and sweater, his snapback no longer on his head, giving one last touch on his hair and stepping out. It was here - the new beginning he was craving for all this time. As he was handed the microphone, Eunsoo made the most wanted steps, as his name was announced.
Young-Ja listened, looked and felt the performances. They were unique and had their own feel to it which was a great thing to witness. Whenever he liked someone's dance, his foot couldn't stop tapping with the beat, enjoying every second of it. Almost as if he was watching a musical with both bad and good songs, dances. However the moment the rappers came to stage, his cheerful demeanour changed into a more serious ones. Ken made a comment about it which made the public laugh with the first rapper. "Yah, Zay. It's almost as if you have a double personality when a rapper appears." Young-Ja laughed and nodded as it was indeed the truth. After all it wasn’t a laughing matter when it came to rapping. A lot of people thought that it was an easy thing to do until they stood in front of Young-Ja himself who harshly criticized them in return. Hoping that it wouldn’t be the same on this survival show.
As the first rapper did his thing, Young-Ja listened carefully to the words. His smile slowly changing into a flat line. Supporting his head on the palm of his hand as he blankly looked at the performer in front of him. The song seemed to keep going on and on without an end to it until it finally happened. The others glanced towards Young-Ja who just sat there, now with his back against the edge of his chair, his arms crossed over one another. Ken gave his commentary and then passed the word to Young-Ja who took up his microphone, bringing it to his mouth as he looked at the mentee.
“I honestly didn’t understand most of the words you said. Your words seem to hang to each other, making one line without a beat into it. It felt like you were reading something from a textbook in front of you.” He let out a deep sigh and looked the mentee head on. “Did you even practice your rap? Because you were really bad.” His comments were like spitting fire, making the ‘o’ sound come from the public as they didn’t expect him to say those things. The mentee seemed to be shaken by his words and couldn’t utter something besides ‘I’m sorry’. “Begin from the basics again because this isn’t going to work otherwise.” Young-Ja said as his last words. The other mentors agreed and gave him some words of advice before sending the boy on his merry way.
The tension was taken away again by a cute performance where the dance was spot-on. However the high notes needed to be worked on as her voice didn’t manage to reach it completely. She still got away with two boots with a promise of working hard on it. After all, this was a program for giving them a chance to make it big. Then the name Park Eunsoo was mentioned and the spotlight was shining on a young male’s face brightly, letting him enter the stage as if it was his own.
Even though he didn’t want to admit it, he was nervous. All the people, whose glances were gathered on him at once, was something he hasn’t really experienced. Yeah, a lot of people were watching him dancing every night, yet knowing that the pride of his team and his own one are put down now, was something way different. The young boy took a deep breath, as he was finally standing in the middle of the stage, his eyes looking straight forward, where all the mentors were sitting, bowing all politely and smiling at them.
”Hello, my name is Park Eunsoo from TWE, 19 years old.” The black haired boy introduced himself, once again bowing to the mentors and the crowd. He looked around, as Sunny asked him if he was Korean, which made him chuckle a bit. Many people have been asking him that since he came back to Korea, as he probably had some kind of accent that he still couldn’t “remove” even if he wished for that badly. It wasn’t that he wasn’t talking with his parents in Korean his whole life, just the fact that he was raised in America was probably a factor itself for his accent to appear.
”I am born in Los Angeles, America, but I came back to South Korea two years ago.”
Then another question followed by Yunho, who was curious about why he came back. Even Eunsoo wasn’t exactly sure about that. Yeah, he wanted to be famous, like any other kid his age, but maybe the reason that pulled him back to his origins, was the fact that in America, no matter how many times he would be winning all kinds of underground competitions, it was like, he couldn’t find what he wanted. His popularity wasn’t growing any bigger, as well as his dancing skills weren't improving. Yeah, he learned a few dance styles at the same time, yet it wasn’t what he wanted. The craving to be rapping on the stage, dancing his soul out, training hard, that was what was tempting him and that was probably the reason why he took such a big decision.
”I just wanted to try it out, what is it to stay on such a big stage, for once.”
As the questions finished, he was ready. Taking another deep breath, he took the starting position, as the music began – “Supreme Team – Dang Dang Dang.“
Hey yo yo yo, put your hands up!” He shouted out while trying to heat the public up, as the first beats of the song began, jumping up and down: “Throw your elbows up!” He repeated to first and most memorable phrase twice-trice, seeing the crowd screaming loudly, grinning widely as soon as the first break part came, he started dancing, stopping himself in the center again, first using a few techniques from the popping style, screaming “Louder”, then a few street steps, legs moving all fast, while one hand was squeezing the microphone tightly.
After the first part passed, it was time for the rap to begin. Between singing and rapping Eunsoo was surely more confident in the second, as he had some experience from America, that seen, even from the way he was pronouncing every English word. His Korean pronouncing was as clear though, his rap fast, well separated, breaths taken on time, almost unheard, as in the same time he tried his best to put the maximum of emotions he could, his first glance with the mentors being stolen now, as Zay, left the biggest impact for these few seconds with his seriousness – he was a rapper, that was just natural. Would it be possible to get his “Yes”, hearing all the critics he had given just seconds before that to the other participants? He had nothing to do, but try.
As the song kept on going, his rap was still as stable, no mistakes being made, eye contacts given more and more often now, as he knew that this was one of the most important things. Eunsoo kept on rapping, dancing and heating the public up, as it was all fired up by now, it seemed, the voices only getting louder, as he started dancing again, yet he couldn’t gather full votes from them – even though if he would, he’d be able to pass with no problem. Yet he got 5 out of 6 boots. The song was finished, Eunsoo stopped and bowed to the people behind the mentors, as well as to the mentors, holding the microphone all tightly. If that wasn’t enough, if he could, he’d show them his dancing skills separately. He was desperate to do it, if it was need.
When the boy called Park Eunsoo gave a small introduction about himself, Young-Ja was all ears as he was truly interested in everyone’s background, skills and their reason to be on this show. They all head their own stories which made them unique. A lot of people from different backgrounds made the show that much more fun. When Eunsoo mentioned that he come from America, Young-Ja his attention was pulled once more. Being glad that Sunny asked that question to the boy. Once the introduction ended, Young-Ja leaned forward, supporting himself on his arms as he directed his attention to the stage in front of him.
When the intro began, he immediately recognized the song as it was quite popular. However if one didn’t manage to get the crowd with him, it’d be a total failure. A double-edged sword as some would say. If everything went good, the crowd would cheer but if even the smallest visible mistakes were made, it would mean the end. He had been quite sceptic about the performance at first due to the previous rappers who couldn’t do it properly. But his mind-set about Eunsoo had completely changed the boy started to do his thing.
The steps the male made, the way his body moved, they all fitted with what a rapper was supposed to be. Feeling that the kid already had some experience with this, he couldn’t help but to compliment the other inside his head. Even his foot started tapping with the beat and his own body became more relaxed as if all the stress was taken away. Once the song ended, he felt like seeing more but knew very well he couldn’t do that as it’d be unfair to the others. “Wah… Zay, you might have some competition here.” Ken said jokingly, making Young-Ja puff his cheeks in return. “I have to agree with Ken on that, unless you can prove yourself.” Sunny commented, trying to provoke Young-Ja which actually worked.
Nodding as he got up from his seat, making his way to the stage and standing next to Eunsoo. Receiving applause from everyone while hearing laughter here and there. “I can’t let them talk like that to me.” He said to the kid with a chuckle, patting the other’s shoulder before taking his place in the middle. Making gestures towards the mentors as if he was keeping an eye on them which made them laugh in return. With that, his small dance performance began. (Watch until 40sec.]
With sharp moves, he started to conquer the stage. Making eye contact with the mentors when kicking his leg up high, a small smirk appearing on his lips. Glancing towards the boy Eunsoo when he had the time and after a legit time of forty seconds, his stage came to an end. Receiving another round of applause as he made his way back to his seat. The voting then began, ending up with 6 boots for Eunsoo. However, Young-Ja told him one more thing before the kid was allowed to leave the stage. “Next time, try to manage your volume when you’re yelling ‘Louder’ because it almost tore my ears.” He commented with a chuckle.
Was this actually happening? Eunsoo was so affected by the adrenaline he has just gotten because of his performance that he couldn't believe it. The public was clapping loudly, the mentors were all smiling and almost like complimenting him, it was amazing. He felt appreciated. Even with just this little act, even if he knew that this reaction meant that he had to prove himself more, he liked it. No, he loved it. The young boy couldn't hide it. His smile was probably shining, as wide, as the smile of a little kid. Even if many would say that he always looked like a cocky brat, well, after all he wasn't one, at least not now.
All taken by the emotions, he couldn't even realize what has happened. Until he was looking at all the mentors sitting there, in the blink of the eyes, Zay was standing next to him. The pat on his shoulder brought him back to the reality at one instant. The words about him being that guy's competition though kept on repeating inside his head, while he was stepping a bit aside, realizing it at one instant - so that was how one real star looked on the stage. Starting from his visiuals, that couldn't be hidden, going through just the way his body was so relaxed, like every muscle seemed to be screaming that this stage was going to be his own one any moment, and finishing with the pressence he had. He wanted to look like that on stage one day as well. One day, he was surely going to claim this so wanted stage as his and one more thing - he was going to beat Zay.
Once again though, the music started and Eunsoo concentrated on the older guy in front of him. Every single move he made, every step, every muscle, they were one with the music. It wasn't only Zay dancing, it was his soul dancing along. With every sharp move, the public was going crazier, the other mentors were looking at him with such an admiration, that Eunsoo felt a little jealous. This guy was not only an idol. He was not only good at rapping, he wasn't only popular, he was an amazing dancer. A dancer that was worth it dancing against. A dancer he wanted to meet all this time. That was the exact one thing he was searching all this time in America - someone who would make him dance the moment, they started dancing. Of course, here and now it was impossible for Eunsoo to do it, yet his foot was quickly tapping on the floor in one with the beat.
In just forty seconds, the whole stage was heated up again and even after Zay left, his pressence was still there. Eunsoo was truly amazed. Now it was time for the votes. The black haired boy crossed his fingers, closing his eyes. Even though the good reviews he has gotten from the mentors, he was still worried. Yet his worrying came to an end quickly, as the results were showed. Six boots. Eunsoo widened his eyes, looking at the screen, then back at the mentors, instantly bowing to them a few times, while thanking them - just as anybody would do. What made him twitch though were the next words that followed from Zay. With a small nod and a silent "Understood", he exited the stage, handing back the microphone to the people behind the scene, before to walk back to the waiting room, grabbing his bag and making his leave. He didn't know what time was it, but he was just hoping that he'd be able to make it on time for the practice with his crew.
After he was done, he was told that he should be back to the building after two days, preferably with some luggage, as he was going to be put in a dorminity, with the others who made it through the first round, specially for the show. Two days... in these two days, he had to tell his boss that he was going to quit working, not that the old man in the restaurant didn't know that from before. Of course, he was feeling bad, as that place was like his second home, yet everybody was behind him in this. Oh right! He had to tell his mother he passed.
As he was already out of the building, Eunsoo put on his snapback and hoodie again, before to take his phone out and quickly call his mother.
"I made it, mom. I passed with six boots, thanks to the mentors." As soon as he said it, he heard a loud happy shout, which only caused him to pull the phone a little bit away from his ear, chuckling silently. "Yeah, yeah, I will officially start living with the other guys after two days." With a little more explaining and talking, the conversation ended, as Eunsoo was already back to the metro station. Time to go back to his daily routine, for just two more days. After that, it was all going to officially begin. His new journey was about to happen.
  • 3 weeks later...
The rest of the auditions went smoothly, there were still the bad and the good when it came to performance, but were dealt with professionally. Having gotten the hang of judging by now, it was a piece of cake to see what they were made of and saying it so that it was not completely insulting them. There were a few who managed to get the super boot which didn’t need any commentary of the judges anymore and the public was right about their abilities to perform. They were the elite of this show but things could change quickly if they started to laze around. He just hoped that they wouldn’t keep hanging on their clouds and would get back to earth soon as show business wasn’t a place where one could float happily around all the time. They had to see it for themselves to believe it. That was something he was sure off.
Stretching himself out once he was allowed to leave the stage. The mentors thanked the public for coming to the show before parting ways. Young-Ja immediately went to the backdoor as there shouldn’t be too many fans yet as they were still getting out of the building. Taking advantage of the situation, he walked out but to his surprise there were people already waiting him up. A lot of them. Guessing that now school and work had ended, they immediately came here to catch a glimpse of the celebrities. Being a little bothered by it, however not showing it on his face as he gently waved at them. Taking a picture here and there while putting his autograph on objects as he made his way to the van. It didn’t hurt but it surely messed up his schedule as he took a lot longer to get into the vehicle than what was planned.
Once inside, they sped off to the next building where he was scheduled to star in. A late night variety show of which the name he had forgotten. There wasn’t a lot of script so he had to improvise a lot on the show which was easily done as he had gotten used to it over the past few years while being in this business. His members where there with him too so there wasn’t too much to worry about. The youngest occasionally nudging him in the side playfully to keep him alert which he was grateful for. It was a small gesture they had taken on which wasn’t visible to the public and still managed to keep each other awake and ready for action.
His fully packed agenda was tiring but he had to do it nonetheless. The only time he could take it more slowly was when doing the survival show.
Two days later, he started to move into the direction of the building where all the mentees were situated for their introduction to each other. It would be their first time to see each other in the living flesh. It would be quite shocking when they’d realize who were the bottom trainees and who were considered the top. Their ambition would have to take over in order to climb up. Of course, ranks could be changed due to the influence of the mentors when they see one deserved better or worse during their progress. It was like a slap in the face for some as they would need to see that they weren’t as good as they thought they were. The harsh reality as some called it.
Once every mentee got inside the room and taken a good look at their ranks, Young-Ja opened the door. Surprised looks went into his direction as he stood there in front of everyone. “Now that everyone’s here, I’ll let you know your first challenge. Form groups of five yourselves and register your names and group name with me once you’re done. That’s all.” He said to the people before taking a seat next to the door as he waited for them to assemble.
As soon as he arrived to the small dance studio he was renting with his members, with the opening of the door, they jumped on him and tackled him down on the floor, congratulating him and laughing happy, patting his head and stuff like that, as he was also the youngest among them, which only made him chuckle. After a few moments, when he was finally able to get up, Eunsoo told them that he had to go back after two days, explaining everything he was told. Of course, the leader of the group – Shinwoo, was already aware of that fact and as they all decided that to be the last practice they’d have together with Eunsoo for the next few months at least, they stayed up till quite late, dancing, laughing and eating.
On the next day, the young boy went to fix the things with his boss for the part-time job, as the old man was rather all opened for his decision and even let him have a free meal in the restaurant, saying that whenever he’d want to come back either it be for work or just to visit them, he was welcomed to do it, which warmed Eunsoo’s heart even more. He knew that he wasn’t from the most talkative and cheesy guys, but having a place where to come back was something, that really touched him deep down.
The said day has come – the time for the new beginning, his dream was about to start. The dark haired boy has decided not to bring that many clothes, just like a few sport pants to train with, two pairs of jeans and some T-shirts, his favorite sweater and some underwear. Of course, what he had more was the cosmetics he started using quite a lot recently, though, it all fit in a middle big suitcase and he was very glad about it.
A black van was waiting at the front of the building he was living in, ready to pick him up, as a few other trainees were already inside as well. They arrived on the place after a few more stops, as all the boys were chit-chatting the whole time, as most of them knew each other, except for Eunsoo. As he was the only one who has decided to try it out in the show from TWE, he was more or less feeling not in place around everybody else, whom he met. Even if they all seemed friendly, the tension and the upcoming survival spirit could be strongly felt around any of the participants.
Soon enough, they were already inside the building the audition was held in, yet as he understood, they were made to enter some room, probably where the first mission was gonna be told, by their ranks. Ah, but of course, they had to make it obvious the first difference between people – who was good enough to be given higher number of boots and who wasn’t. As they had their boots on their shirt as a sticker, one by one every participant started entering the room.
By the time Eunsoo had to enter, there were just a few more people left. It seemed that the people who got 6 boots and Super boot were not that much after all. Of course, seeing how the judges were judging, it was only natural. And so, one by one the six boots started entering the room, as Eunsoo decided to be the last one. Once he entered all the eyes were focused on him, people were whispering against each other’ ear, all eyes as if analyzing him.
“Aah, he was the one that was approved to be a good rapper by Young-Ja, wasn’t he?”
“I heard though that he was criticized?”
“What? Well, but he is not from Korea. It’s normal.”
“I heard his crew was very popular though. Also they say he is a monster when it comes to dancing, though he didn’t perform that.”
These were just a few of the comments flying around the room, as he took a deep breath, unable to hide it, a small smirk popping over his face. Somehow, he was used to people underestimating him, so he wasn’t even a bit worried about what would the others think about.
Eunsoo took a seat to one of the front small crates put all over the room. The next that entered were the Super boots. They were surely something special. Even the effects and all these bright lights specially for their appearance were a bit too much, but the guys that came inside – they were from a few of the most known dance crews, starting with 1Million, DOB and Diana. They were surely worth it the Super boot.
Once everybody was inside, unexpected for everybody, Zay, himself, appeared in the room, everybody applauding him, yet until the said words of him. They had to form a team themselves? So that was the first mission? Eunsoo looked around, some guys instantly rushing to the Super boots to try to convince them to join them in their teams. A good, yet also not such a good strategy. If they had something to offer, of course, anybody would agree, but the most talented wanted to stick with the most talented. Eunsoo just stayed sit though, looking around and seeing two teams already being formed, as just a few more were left. Just as he was about to finally get up and approach one guy, whom he knew, he felt someone patting his shoulder, looking up and seeing Taeyong from DOB smiling at him.
“Eunsoo, would you like to join me? I can guarantee you that you won’t regret it. We have four of the Super boots and are searching for one more person.” Eunsoo smiled lightly, not even giving it up a second thought, deciding to join them. He wasn’t losing much either way. The team seemed fine and Taeyong was known for a very talented dancer, also they both knew each other.
As their team was formed, the five of them walked to Zay, Eunsoo having his hands in his sweater’s pockets, yet until the others pushed him gently to speak to the mentor, which only made him puff his cheeks, rather out of habit, taking out his hands and bowing to the older guy: “The team we formed consist of: Lee Taeyong – DOB, Park Taemin – Diana, Choi Junsoo – Diana, Park Jin – DOB and myself – Park Eunsoo – TWE. The name of our team is “Superheroes.”
Once he finished to say what he had to say, they all started scrambling together, some too shy to even say anything and just staying with one of their friends. He tapped his pen against the clipboard as he looked at each and every one of them, making sure he didn’t miss anything. His predictions were right when he saw them. All clinging to the super and high boots as if they were some gods but the opposite would be shown to be truth. Not every member of the super boot or high boot deserved to be there, perhaps for some it was by mere luck. Only hard working mentees would survive until the end. That was the truth. He’d pick those out who he deemed of as unworthy. Some groups didn’t even take in account that they needed a variety of people.
One group that came to him consisted of mainly singers with only one good dancer. Raising an eyebrow at them as he didn’t know what they were thinking or if they were just too stupid to realize that this combination wasn’t going to work but he let them be and wrote their names down. They would discover it sooner or later anyway but it would be too late by then. He called them brainless monkeys inside of his head. It actually fitted with their group name which was Monkeys Aye. It was an insult to the monkey themselves to be honest. If only they got the bigger picture just a little bit better he wouldn’t have to think about them that way. His fans knew about this side of him, well the majority of the people knew this and they still accepted him. The demon rapper was his nickname.
And then the unoriginal group came forward consisting of four super boots and one six boot. He blankly looked at Eunsoo who was telling the names of the members as the others hid behind him as if they were scared to face the rapper. Well, perhaps it was because of the lack of emotion on his face whenever he listened to the names of the groups. Neither did he show any enthusiasm as they mainly consisted of high boots. Lame.
“Mhm. So really nobody has the guts to even think about getting together with people from the lower boots. How… boring. Well, it’s what I expected anyway.” He commented in a monotonous voice as he wrote down the names as well as the group name. “Superheroes… Let’s see how long you’ll be able to stay true to this name.” With that, he waved them off so he could write down the others. Surprisingly this group consisted of all kinds of ranks. Giving a light smile for the first time since he entered the room and nodded approvingly. “Good luck.” He said and patted one on the back before he continued to scribble everything down.
The moment that all the groups were made, he stood up and nodded curtly. “Okay, since everybody’s set. Let’s start your first mission now. The first mission is to feature in The Unit’s music video. You will go on to make your music video. The winning team will receive a production budget of 500,000 to become main features in The Unit’s music video and be the first face of the show. You have 3 days to learn the choreography and lyrics.” Just then a video started playing on the screen consisting the song and choreography of “My Turn”.
After that, they were asked to go to the dormitories to settle in and start practicing their choreography to the best of their capabilities. Also receiving matching shirts for each group.
It wasn’t that anybody of the team was scared, just the fact that Zay was standing there, so emotionless… Eunsoo was often told he looked cold, but the guy in front of him was at least one level above him, when it was coming to this. So, as he thought, that guy was indeed rude. Yeah, that was right, he knew well the idea behind leaving them choose the members by themselves, but was he really expecting that it would be fair? He didn’t even know what were his previous reactions, but the words he was able to catch made him raise his brow, taking a deep breath and smiling lightly.
“I will prove you that we are worth it the name, Young-Ja-sshi.” With these words, they stepped aside, Eunsoo not missing to take a look at the other group and the different reaction they got, as their ranks were all kinds of. So, he was right. Looking once again at his team, the young boy has realized it – they had to put twice more efforts then the rest of the teams, as they were a team consisting a few of the highest ranks, so that they could stay behind their name and pride.
The mission was told and the video was shown, Eunsoo carefully analyzing the dance moves only from just the first time. He heard every word Zay was saying as well, making sure to memorize it well, as that was going to be his motivation. 3 days, was it? While thinking about how to organize everything, despite the fact that he was the youngest among the others of his team, all five made their way to the pack of clothes – pink. It made him let out a small chuckle, taking a look at all three tall members, who were quite manly as well, unlike Taeyong and him. He shrugged his shoulders though and grabbed one shirt, letting the others grab one each as well.
Finally, they arrived to the dorm with the vans that picked them up, everybody seeming all excited to have arrived. Yet one thing they were all forgetting was the time they were given to practice before the evaluation.
All the formed groups were told which room was theirs, as they were going to share one room for the next few days, of course, including a bathroom and toilet, as it was a necessary part of everybody’s daily life. All of the “Superheroes” entered the small room they were given, leaving their suitcases wherever they could put them.
“Guys, lets quickly change in our clothes and get started. We’ve got no time to rest.” As Eunsoo said it, three of the four other guys threw him a small all amused glance, one of them just patting his shoulder, as if to show him it was going to be fine. No, it wasn’t gonna be fine, though. They couldn’t be just sitting and chit-chatting. As the youngest one opened slightly his suitcase, he took the first pair of gray over-sized sport pants, changing himself in them, putting on the pink shirt and grabbing his phone.
“I am going to the dance room. You can rest if you are that tired.” With these words he grabbed his sweater as well, opened the door and closed it behind himself, squeezing the cloth in his hand. Was it the right decision to choose that team after all? They seemed to be too full of themselves. With a small sigh Eunsoo headed to the dance room, once inside, putting on his sweater, sitting on the floor and playing the video again, as it was already sent on his e-mail. A few times – that’s all he needed to memorize the choreography. He was going to be fine. Even if he had to learn it by himself, it would not be a problem, as long as the team would not pull him down, which meant they had to come here and decide everything, so that they'd stay behind the name they chose and so that their pride would not be stepped on.
Unfortunately, Eunsoo was already pissed off with Zay’s words and his attitude towards his team, making the young boy just hit the floor.
“I will prove you that we are good enough like that, Zay. Just wait.”
