Alistair was too lost in the pure bliss of silence that he didnt even register the fact that Alexander didn't push him away. He had been forceful and invaded his personal space due to his desperation. He suddenly felt a gentle touch on his wrists, a steady hold, to help ease his shaking. He had never felt such a gentle touch in his life....or maybe...he had in his past life. He couldn't remember. [“I—... Is this… what it’s like for you?”] Alistair froze as there eyes met. What did he mean by that? Could they be similar...was he capable of understanding him? What happened next were questions, and a desire to help. To listen. To understand. Alexander wanted to know what happened. What was wrong...And for some reason the priest cared about him. In a way that neither of them could wrap their head around. [ “I don’t know why it’s you, I’ve seen demons suffer before. I’ve argued for mercy. I’ve believed in redemption. But this— This feels… different. And I don’t know what to do with that.”] Different. Yes....this was different. He gave him hope...something he had forgotten. Telling him that he wasnt going anywhere while he was in this state. That he wasn't alone. Something Alistair desperately needed to hear. The blond placed there foreheads back together, and once again he felt a wave of calmness... of warmth and for a moment...he felt safe. By the time he calmed down Alexander's five minutes had passed. Alistair could hear the priests descending the mountain in search of their precious golden child. There wasn't enough time to explain it all...but he quickly realized that he had three options. Submit to Cain. Submit to Alexander Or die right here and now. To give up. But he wasnt sure how much more he could take with so many threads and emotions pouring into him. He needed to think, and fast. He pulled away and lowered his hands. He had clamed down a little, but you could tell he was exhausted. " T-take me hostage. Use me..seal me into confinement, the life I've lived before is over now. If I leave here...The curse that has been placed on me will consume me... " He spoke fast, but serious. If he submitted to Cain...then he'd lose his chance at redemption. Or at least...thats the silly idea Alexander put in his head. That he wasnt beyond saving...that he still had a soul. " The curse makes me unable to manipulate the karmic strings around me...so I'm not a threat to anyone," he muttered. And now, humans threads harmed him. " Im sure I can be useful to you...all I ask is that you seal the karmic demons...who turned me into this... The moment I'm no longer useful... you can just kill me. Cleanse my soul...whatever you want to call it. "(That will be... my revenge) Cain wanted him so the biggest 'fuck you' he could give...was making sure he didnt submit. Alistair knew he wasn't powerful or capable enough to break this curse...and he didn't want to be Cains underling, because if he did. There was no saving him. Hed be far too gone. And yet...he didn't want his death to be meaningless...this was his way of giving something back. _____________________________ "High Priest! High Priest! Mr. Sato frowned in irritation as a random underling interrupted his prayer time. "This better be good!" He muttered. "Sir, its about the disturbance on the mountain. A demon tried to reach the temple. We surrounded it but....but.. "But? Out with it." "Y-your son....he insisted on showing the demon mercy...and escorted it down the mountain..." "He what?" ( To put this temple in such danger! What is he thinking?! )
