"One second!"he repeated, pushing up from his chair. His knees cracked like broken twigs. The hallway beyond his front door was silent, but he swore he could already feel Fang’s presence through the walls. That weighty warmth that always managed to stir something in him. Like he carried around an exited pup inside. Sora padded barefoot to the door, hoodie sleeves too long on his arms and still clinging faintly to Fang’s scent from yesterday. He opened the door, cracked it open just wide enough to peek out. Fang stood there with a brown paper bag and a tall paper cup of tea, his black hair pulled back messily and dark circles like bruises beneath his eyes. His smile was crooked, tired, and still devastatingly handsome. Sora stared a little too long before remembering how doors worked. He swung it open the rest of the way, immediately going warm in the face. “You look like hell,” he muttered, heat crawling up the back of his neck before he quickly added. “...A hot version of hell!" He stepped aside to let Fang in, trying not to stare too obviously. But his eyes kept going back to the dark circles under Fang’s eyes. He looked exhausted — really, truly worn down. And still, he’d come here. Sora guessed he just came from work too with how he smelled of parfum, sweet cocktail sirup and.. a hint of something like... wet dog?? Sora followed him into the kitchen, brushing sleep from his eyes. The seeing the mess on the small dinning table he walk past him to try and clear all his things which was spread out. His papers was scattered and his pc a black screen, having long died. Sora tried to push everything aside quickly. And tried to act like he hadn’t actually slept in there. “You didn’t have to come,” he said quietly, glancing at Fang from the corner of his eye. “I mean… I wanted to see you. But I didn’t mean to make you lose sleep.” He bit the inside of his cheek. His fingers itched with the urge to reach out, to tuck a strand of hair behind Fang’s ear or touch his wrist or something. But he didn’t. Instead, he looked at the bags in Fang’s hands. “You brought donuts” A small, breathy laugh escaped him. “God, you’re ridiculous.” He said, but his voice was too soft and happy to mistake him for being annoyed. His stomach was doing that fluttering again. And he was smiling without realizing it. He was very happy to see Fang. But he also felt guilty about telling him to come by when the other hadn’t had any sleep since Sora used the pen on him. He doubted Fang had slept beside him after Sora had passed out to nights ago either. Sora stepped up to Fang, his eyes warm with affection. Gently, he placed a hand against Fang’s cheek. “Hi,” he whispered, his voice soft. Then, with a tender smile, he leaned in and brushed his lips against Fang’s in a gentle, heartfelt kiss. -------------------------- Leon felt like he was hanging on by a single, fraying thread of self-control.
