Asta lit up hearing that Sora was down to go on a trip with him. As long as they did it before his internship course. "We could go to the beach...or..maybe a hot spring. We could all go. Fang and Leon. You and me. " They had tried double dates before but never a trip. Sora seemed interested and said he'd talk to Fang about it. With the decision made, Asta found himself follwing Sora's lead and silently watching Cota play with the falling petals, a small smile appearing on his face. The fox was so carefree and cute. He remembered being surprised when Sora first introduced them, but dispite the little fox being a yoki... it behaved like any normal pet or animal would and within days Asta saw Cota as just a fluffy, adorable, companion for his friend. Asta also took notice of how much happier Sora had become after getting Cota. He finally spoke, breaking the silence. [“I think…You and Leon make sense. If I can put it like that.”] Sora rested his head on his for a brief moment telling him that he's seen some of the worst parts of him over the past two years and could only assume Leon had received the full force of it all. His struggles, anger, and dispear. He bit his lip, finding truth in his words, but what came next was sincere advice. This is why Sora was his best friend. Not only was he supportive and kind, but honest. He gave him his honest thoughts and opinions with no judgement. His words sunk in, but what really caught Asta's attention was this, ' If there is no love there is no future. ' Those words stuck him harder then he'd ever admit and they spoke to a part of him he had been avoiding. The love he had hidden and locked away for Leon. [ “I belive Leon loves, you. It’s kinda hard to not see.”] Asta gave a suddle nod, as Sora nudged him playfully. [ “So yeah, I think you are/ could be a good couple.”] Asta smiled alittle, straightening himself up as Sora seemed to understand the underlying question he'd been wanting to ask, but was too scared to say. Would he be a bad person if he couldn't forgive him? Even after all he's done. [“But if you decide you can’t? That doesn’t mean you are cruel, it just makes you honest.”] "Thank you," he muttered. He stared at the ground bathed in cherry blossom petals, lost in thought as he processed the advice Sora gave him. When he asked if something was wrong, Asta shrugged saying, " Not really..." He probed him further. [ "It’s okay, you know I wouldn’t judge.. and I am pretty much your only gay friend too, sooo."] Asta smiled. Sora always had this charm about him, making him lower his guard. " I just...feel stuck. Things changed. I changed, and we both got busy pursuing other things and our relationship...kind of fizzled out? I honestly didn't want to address what we were so I put it on the back burner. I needed to focus on school and rehabilitation...and mentally...I don't think I was in the right place or mindset to be in a romantic relationship. I was too upset. But now...now I don't know whats wrong with me...There's no more excuses...no more barriers...so why am I afraid to make the first move? I know Leon won't...he feels responsible for what happened...You said that if there's no love there's no future...but I can't imagine a future without Leon in it. But I dont know how to fix whats been broken. He's been treating me well...but I don't want to be his patient, his mistake that he has to atone for, his ex or friend...i still want to be...his...boyfriend...." He sighed, rubbing his head in frustration. "Aghh! Am I making any sense?! I feel like I'm going insane. " Deep down Asta couldn't believe that Leon had kept his promise. Dispite seeing sides of him that he didn't know he had. He had changed so much in the last two years, less carefree, with wavering determination, and happiness that was no longer ever lasting. The 'incident' had changed him...and he wondered if Leon really could love and accept this version of himself. The nights Asta screamed, waking up from nightmares or when he stumbled trying to walk and got so frustrated and fed up that he'd direct his anger towards Leon. However Leon, never said anything cruel or harsh back and was always calm when Asta wasn't. Becoming a sort of anchor for him. It made him happy when Leon celebrated the smallest milestones as if they were miracles. The road had been brutal, but he was never alone. In the beginning, Going on dates and having Leon do "boyfriend" things was overstimulating. Cause he didnt know what they were, and he couldn't put any sort of label on it. They hadnt officially broken up, but there was definitely a divide between them, but when Sora propose the idea of double dates...he felt less pressure and felt more comfortable. He still remembered how Leon tried to get him out of the house but he refused to be in a wheel chair or on cratches. His first attempt felt humiliating. The looks he got....people feeling sorry for him or asking what happened...he just couldn't do it. " I hate how awkward it is!" He wanted something to change, to shift. Asta tensed hearing his phone chime. He pulled out his device only to see that Leon had texted him. "Ahhh! Its him! " Asta sounded like a nervous school girl who just received a text from her crush. He opened the message, sharing the screen/ message with Sora. [[ 'Hi my sunflower. I just wanted to let you know I'm finished with my work for the day.. I was wondering if were free to have lunch with me? Of course no pressure, if you already got plans with yours friends I understand ❤️ ']] Asta faintly blushed seeing the message. He turns towards Sora with puppy dog eyes. " You fixed your relationship with Fang. Help me fix mine! Teach me your ways!" Asta was half joking but half serious. " What should I say? " This playful side of Asta had disappeared for awhile, but to see that Leon still had this affect on Asta just proved that he still loved him. Asta looked nervous sure...but excited too. ___________________________________________ Fang sighed as he laid on the couch bored out of his mind. He was off today so while Sora was at school he went to the gym and grocery store. He had just finsihed making dinner. Home made curry and rice. He never cared for cooking, but it was a skill he learned for Sora. It only took Fang watching a western documentary on processed food to get him motivated. He was more determined to cook for the human than ever and he wasn't going to let Sora die from obesity or cancer while he was around. Its funny Fang worried about the oddest things. He left some steamed veggies and meat aside with not added spices for Cota too, dispite finding the little turd annoying. He texted Sora. [[ Hey. I made dinner. Come straight home. Im bored. ]] 'Im bored ' was code for, ' I miss you.' And 'I made dinner.' Was code for, ',I thought about you, let's get together,' Fang still hid behind a tough exterior but for Sora, his mate could see right through it. @M-jow
