There was no reason for a dinner date to feel like an examination. Especially not this one. He found himself watching Haruko as he decided what to get. The warm lighting suited him. So did the faint flush across his cheeks. Shan smiled to himself, though his gaze soon dropped toward the wine bottle. He remembered Haruko mentioning that he hadn't really drunk much before. And, judging by the slightly glassy look in his eyes, Shan was beginning to suspect that his charming new acquaintance had been rather enthusiastic about catching up. His eyes flicked toward the wineglass Haruko had just reached for. Before he could pour himself another drink, Shan gently caught the bottle by the neck. "Hang on." He didn't take it away.
