It was to dangerous his boss was unforgiving. Kai wasn’t like the men Yukie usually was with and Yukie despite his cold demeanor and assholish behavior refused to see the only good in his world like them. It was only fair Yukie turned him down and pushed him away….this part of the world was cruel and Yukie had made the mistake of falling in love at one point with his boss and in turn he wasn’t able to escape. Yukie wouldn’t let Kai be destroyed or shamed by what he was. He would reject him…even if it meant one day he himself would be thrown away. ———— “mmmh I’m in here~.” Yukie replied drunkenly as he sat in front of the tv the man sipping his beer as he sat in the dark. The bag of alcohol the usually twenty four pack only had one taken out of it proof Yukie had only been home for five minutes at most that he had debated actually staying. Yukie sat quietly on the floor he was dressed in more extravagant clothing this time the flashy sequined red top and black pants ripped and half on him. His hair was soaked in what could only be a strong smelling cheap alcohol. Yukie like usual didn’t look over towards Kai as he just stared at the tv in the dark his face covered in fresh bruises and some bits of blood soaking through different areas of his clothes. The beating was so much worse this time. Yukie who’s face was usually done up so pretty and who’s skin use to never have any bruises only hickeys and playful bitemarks was covered in cigarette burns and deep bruises, ones that would have made anyone question if his arms weren’t broken. His arms were decorated with bruises and needle marks that showed he was grabbed and dragged quite often tonight and had partaken in who knows what. His face was covered in bruises and his lip was split showing he had been beaten only hours before coming here. The worse part, out of all of it had to have been his neck, the obvious signs of being strangled and choked…hell possibly collared at one point was only proven by how much worse his neck was the flesh painted in deep blacks and purples. “For I awhile I thought you would have bailed on me and taken more hours at work, course I’m unable to offer payment for my stay here.” Yukie explained as he nudged the beer case over as his ‘payment’. “Boss cut my hours.” Yukie explained his voice showing no emotion as he spoke. Yukie was lying out his ass, the man having been so busy entertaining and working. When he came though he expected Sett to come visit but when he never did Haruhi couldn’t help the feeling of dread at loosing Sett that overcame him. His parents of course were notified he was in the hospital, they only continued to tightened their grip on his life. Since that day things took a turn for the worst at home and mentally for Haruhi. He wasn’t allowed to leave causing him to sink into a horrible depression the normally happy and bright man changing into a deeply distant person. Everything in his life was now done online and away from society the man to afraid to leave or try to escape his family now. Haruhi’s parents and himself were only leaving the house now for collage interviews at high end prestigious schools. Eventually during one of the rare drives to the interviews the weather took a turn for the worse and they all had got in an horrible accident that made the news. Haruhi suffered serious wounds his memory suffering damage from it making him quite forgetful causing even more deep traumatic scars alongside his physical wounds. The only bright side is Haruhi was more happy the man smiling more and being a touch more naive in life. Having been the only survivor he spent a few years in the hospital healing and getting back to a semi normal health. Soon after he was released he was accepted into the highest medical school in the country. Haruhi ended up inheriting his family’s life insurance, and selling the family home he paid for his school in full and covered the hospital bills and the funerals. Once done he packed up his clothes and a few belongings and moved to a small apartment closer to the collage leaving his own life behind going by Haru to everyone that met him. ———— “Look…it just doesn’t make sense I understand that you need to measure it out but I don’t see why I need to memorize the amount when u can just keep a chart and keep updating it.” Haru grumbled as he sighed and leaned back against the seat staring at the man before him the new tutor being his fifth one this month the others having been unable to deal with his inability to understand the lessons. “Your goal is to own your own practice there you can do the whole chart thing till you’re blue in the face, but for the tests in your classes you need to show you can retain information. Even with your memory problems you should remember the basics. You can’t use a sticky note for everything in your life.” The man explained as he sighed and ran his hands through his brown hair the tutor a little annoyed with Haru but well, the pay was more than he would get for three clients and he knew why now. ”…I need a break.” Haru asked as he sighed and got up heading outside to smoke. The smoking was a new habit brought on by finals and the last month of work and stress. His apprenticeship has become grueling and he couldn’t wait to move onto another hospital the man running it treating him more like eye candy than a co worker. Leaning against the wall Haru closed his eyes to rest softly inhaling the smoke as he took his time the man exhausted and not really wanting to continue going back at his books. Eventually he could feel his tutors eyes on him and he went inside taking his seat he continued his lessons until the cafe closed. Bidding the tutor farewell they exchanged numbers and Haru paid the man before heading home checking his phone again for messages as he took the familiar route to grab dinner and back to his two bedroom house the place cozy and quiet. Settling down on the couch Haru didn’t even care to turn on the lights or lock the doors being to tiered to do much more then lay on the couch. A hour later he sighed as his blue eyes caught the clocks time as he groaned at the reminder of work early in the morning. Sitting up he opened his food the cheap meal lacking any real nutrients as he ate. Living alone Haru survived on what meals he could buy. Having never learned to cook the kitchen sat unused and the fridge full of beer and some small basics he could snack on. His eating habits over the year had caused a decline in his health and last week a hospitalization. The doctors had suggested he eat more. They had given him more pills to help him sleep. More pills to help him cope. He was tiered of pills. Finishing his food Haru opened up the bottle of pills looking at the colorful assortment as he thought briefly to how he could so easily just take them all…how it could fix his sleep problems. Taking two out Haru ignored the no drinking on the side and slipped them in his mouth drinking a beer as he got up wobbly from the table and went to shower.
