Yumro frowned the moment Haruhi began talking about mourning him. Whatever humor Haruhi had tried to wrap around the thought fell flat. There was nothing funny about imagining a future where Haruhi had to grieve him. "Haruhi." Yumro's voice was quiet, but there wasn't a trace of amusement in it. It was steady, firm, carrying the kind of seriousness that made Haruhi lift his gaze and meet his eyes. "Don't..." he said softly, his expression tightening. "Don't even entertain thoughts like that. You're not going to lose me." He paused, choosing his words carefully. "I'm not perfect. I know that. But I wouldn't even consider accepting this if I wasn't already certain I could handle it." He pulled Haruhi close, wrapping both arms around him until there wasn't any space left between them, holding him as though he could chase every fear away with the strength of his embrace. "I wouldn't do something that would leave you carrying this kind of worry if I didn't believe I could come back from it." Yumro rested his forehead briefly against Haruhi's. "I know that, to you, I'm just... me." A faint, bittersweet smile crossed his face. "You don't see the things I've kept hidden. That's my fault, not yours. I learned to carry those burdens long before you came into my life." His fingers gently stroked Haruhi's back. "But everything Haru is going through..." His voice grew quieter. "I've been there too. I know what it feels like. I survived it." He took a slow breath before continuing. "Among all of Yukie's children, I'm the only one who can truly stand alongside him. The only one whose power could match him." His eyes never left Haruhi's. "Your mate isn't weak." The words weren't spoken with arrogance or pride. They were calm, certain, something he needed Haruhi to believe as much as he believed it himself. "I need you to know that," Yumro whispered. "So... trust me." He cupped Haruhi's face with gentle hands and leaned in, pressing soft kisses across his cheeks, the bridge of his nose, the curve of his chin, lingering for a heartbeat before finally claiming his lips in a tender, reassuring kiss. -------------------- "It's not a competition." Shan stuck his tongue out at Haru before breaking into a laugh. He wasn't entirely sure how this whole "growing up" thing was supposed to work. Even Yumro hadn't seemed to have all the answers. But since Shan had a normal physical body now, Yumro figured he'd probably age like any other demon. ["I can understand how you felt. It's scary being someplace new."] Shan gave a small shrug. Haru had broken their promise about being back before school started, but Shan knew it hadn't been his choice. Things had happened that neither of them could control. He wasn't upset about it, and he wanted to make sure Haru understood that. "It wasn't your fault," Shan said gently. "And really... it wasn't a big deal." ["I'm glad we can go back together. It'll be nice spending time with you again."] "Yeah!" Shan beamed. "It's gonna be awesome." He watched as Haru carried his dishes into the kitchen and rinsed them in the sink, waiting patiently for him. ["...Did... do... you have someone at school you like? You know..."] Shan looked at Haru, blinked once, then tilted his head in confusion. "Sure I do." He gestured vaguely into the air as if the answer were completely obvious. Not that he had the slightest idea which kind of "like" Haru meant. He started counting on his fingers. "I like Hanna, Terry, Cleo, Friz, Paula, Drew, Liz, Xavier and Xander—they're twins, Obin, Umar, Sora, Kaito..." The list kept going, one name after another. "They've all been really nice to me," Shan said with an easy smile. "So of course I like them." He wandered over and wrapped his arms around Haru from behind, resting his cheek lightly against his back. Quietly, Shan hoped Haru wouldn't feel sad or jealous just because he liked other people too. "But I still like you the most," he said earnestly. "You're my best, best friend. More than anyone else." Satisfied that he'd made himself clear, Shan let go just as a yawn slipped past his lips. Trying very hard not to look sleepy, he reached over and gave Haru's sleeve a gentle tug. "So..." he mumbled, blinking away his tiredness, "are you going to stay up, or are you going back to bed?" -------------------------- When Yukie motioned for him to wait, and gently easing Julius off his lap, Julius could only tilted his head in quiet curiosity. His gaze followed Yukie as he disappeared into the bedroom, wondering what had suddenly come to mind. It wasn't until Yukie returned, carrying what he'd gone to retrieve, that Julius understood. A soft chuckle escaped. Of course. He'd completely forgot. Since Yukie no longer had his powers. He couldn't simply summon whatever he needed whenever he wanted. The small, mundane act of walking away to fetch something felt strangely foreign. It would take some getting used to. Julius had never known Yukie without his abilities. Ever since they'd met, it had been as natural a part of Yukie as breathing. That endless, dark substance that constantly seeped from him. Like a vessel forever overflowing with more than it could contain, had always surrounded him. It had become part of how Julius recognized his presence before he even saw him. Now it was gone. The absence felt... strange. Not wrong. Not empty. Just different. There was no longer that constant pressure in the air, no silent weight in the room. Nothing vast or overwhelming that instinctively demanded attention simply because Yukie was there. Looking at him now, Julius found that none of it really mattered. Without the powers, without the darkness endlessly spilling from him, without the quiet force that had always seemed too much... He was still Yukie.. Simply and unmistakably, his Yukie, exactly as he was. Julius still had the ability to get things the old way. Though, he didn't bring it up because the wasn't any need too. But maybe in the future he should offer to help more. Yukie treated Julius with the utmost care, and really took his time letting Julius ajust. There were no rush eventhough both of them was restless, eager and horny beyond measure. Julius was the first to lose himself. Although he tried hard. He still came against Yukie's stomach just a few minutes in. But his member kept staying hard as Yukie stretched him and revive the small nup, that was his prostate.
