Julius stayed in the chair a bit longer, fingers brushing through the soft, freshly-styled waves on top. The new cut still felt strange and unfamiliar under his touch. He just reached into a nearby drawer, pulled out a sleek bottle, and with practiced familiarity, spritzed Julius’s wrist, then the hollow of his throat. The scent hit Julius a second later. That intoxicating, familiar scent. He honestly didn’t know the exact fragrance Yukie always wore could be bottled up. It wasn’t just perfume. It was a signature. A claim that this was Yukie’s. Julius flushed. He tried to hide it, but there was no point. It wasn’t the scent that did it. It was the act, in a careful way Yukie re-scented him, like it was the most natural thing in the world. That slow-burning affection Yukie always had for him, just moments like this. Julius tried to play it cool, but the tips of his ears burned. There was something both teasing and territorial in the way he said it, an edge of control that made Julius’s breath hitch. Not here, he wanted to say. But his body betrayed him, already leaning just slightly into the heat of Yukie’s presence. Maybe that was what this whole day was about. Not impressing Yukie. But standing beside him like an equal. The kiss that followed was soft, but Julius felt it down to his bones. It wasn’t rushed or too demanding. Just… full. And as much as Julius felt flustered, he didn’t pull away. He leaned in. The kiss hadn’t meant to be much. At least, Julius told himself that. It was just a soft brush of lips. A simple gesture. But then Yukie leaned in a little closer, and his hand brushed Julius’s cheek just a little too slow, and suddenly the air was thick with something far from innocent. Julius felt his breath hitch. His fingers had barely grazed the inside of Yukie’s wrist when.. [“ABSOLUTELY NOT!”] The salon exploded. Julius blinked. Confused. Alarmed. Then- -SHHHT-THPSSHHHT!!!- A stream of water shot across the room like holy water and nailed Yukie right in the face. Julius flinched as if he’d been the one hit. Gunther had entered the room in full fury, wielding a silver spray bottle like it was an arcane weapon. He stomped forward in hot pink boots that squeaked against the floor, his expression twisted in sheer, scandalized horror. [“No. No, no, no, no, NO. These chairs are sacred.] Julius opened his mouth to apologize or to explain. But he didn’t even know what he was going to say. But Gunther was already mid-meltdown. “We wasn’t going to—” Julius made the terrible mistake of glancing at Yukie, he instantly regretted it. One crooked smile from his mate and Julius felt heat surge through his cheeks all over again. He tore his gaze away, pretending to look at the floor, anywhere but those damn eyes. Another spritz of mist. Eventhough Yukie was sitting down and not doing anything. Julius couldn’t help the laughter bubbled at the back of his throat, nerves and embarrassment all crashing together. This entire thing was ridiculous. He felt like a teenager getting caught making out under the bleachers. Gunther huffed dramatically, ruffling through his things like an angry bird fluffing its nest. Leaving the two of them to their obvious routine. Julius sat down in the loung chairs to look through some of those magazines laying about. He wasn’t close enough to the two to hear what the two of them was talking about and honestly he didn't think he should be listening in either. The two had alot to catch up on.
