Name: Fintan Showmaru

Age: Looks 19

Personality: As far as personality, he's pretty much a very curious type of person. He hates being told what to do, and often acts pretty childish. Especially when he's on land, he he curious and naive about everything, not knowing there could be harmful things on land as well. He considers land to be a paradise, and he's really just a sweet, excited type of persona, wanting to experience and discover everything of the world that it has to offer.

Bio: All his life, Fintan was told stories of the land, horrific stories - mainly about the humans, and how terrible of beings they were, like monsters. Though his clan, or his large family, the mermen and maids in his group underwater that they travel in, travel throughout the sea, they typically stay around on general area, near a group of secluded islands, though do inhibit humans. Fintan was always warned to stay away from them. But getting into an argument with his father about it one day, he separated from the group, off by himself for a bit to cool down. However he ran into a shark, which attacked him, and thus ended up with him injured on shore. Sharks don't normally attack mermen/maids, because of their size, as well as they usually stay in large groups near each other. And they were much more advanced creatures than sharks, with a high intelligence equal to humans. Fintan is able to change throughout a human and mer form, depending if he is wet or dry. Wet, and underwater, he is of course in his natural, real merman form. But on land, with a dry body, his scales and fins dry out, and he becomes human. But if he were to get wet again scales would reappear wherever he'd gotten wet.

Fintan was beyond irritated. He'd gotten into another fight with his father, which, honestly wasn't all that much of a surprise. He and his father did not see eye to eye, or get along. His father, being the leader of the clan, was serious, strict, and rule bound, keeping to their laws. Whereas Fintan was more of a dreamer, wanting to just go with the flow - no pun intended, considering he lived in water. But in all honesty, Fintan wanted to be himself, do as he pleased. He loved the water, of course. He couldn't live without it - and not just because his body required it to live. But he also wanted to see the land. The most he's gotten were glimpses whenever he would surface near land. For which his father and others of the clan would scold him.

Having gotten into the fight with his father, about land, and arguing it was surely safe enough to experience, Fintan had swam off, unable to stand arguing anymore at the moment. He didn't see what the others feared about land. The humans? They had horror stories of humans capturing and experimenting on mermen and maids. However, those stories were from ancient ancestors. Ancestors long dead. So, no one alive had been to land, and experienced for themselves. Fintan believed they were exaggerated children stories, to scare them to learn not to be curious and go about land.

Though Fintan had been longing to go to land, he hadn't planned it at that exact time. But when he had gotten into a fight with a great white shark, he was badly injured in his tail fin, and unconscious, had ended up washing about shore of an unknown island, his body slowly drying out in the burning sun and scales slowly starting to disappear.

Name: Thomas Landerson

Age: 25

Personality: Usually a calm and gentle guy, Thomas only gets angry when something is unfair in his eyes or when the ones he loves are hurt. He absolutely loves playing the piano - been doing that since he was a little child, tried a few times to form a band but failed, so he is going solo. Thomas doesn't really like leaving his house for a longer amount of time - he is an introvert, so being with people for a long time is, well, tiring. Even his concerts are quite small - on other times he works with music editing at requests - he enjoys the job and doesn't have to interact with people.

Bio: Thomas grew up in a family of three people, including himself. His parents divorced when he was nine - the same time he began playing the piano, mostly for his younger sister, who sadly has skin cancer and he always makes sure to visit her, even if just to talk about seemingly pointless stuff. Thomas often collects seashells for her, so he visits the beach at least twice, thrice a weak - since it's close to his small house and pretty much always empty, he absolutely loves it.

Ken_Naoki_2.jpg

Thomas let out a soft, quiet sigh as he grabbed a bag into his hand and walked out of the house - it was early in the morning, the sun was shining and it was simply perfect to collect seashells. A small smile lit up on his face as he strolled through the sand, leaning down to take a seashell that would catch his eyes - usually he spent hours like this, and then he would pick out the best ones to take for his sister.

His light brown eyes gazed around when he stopped suddenly- was it just him or was there someone laying on the shore? The man began walking again, then, when he was sure it was a body, his eyes widened and he simply ran off to see who it was. Thomas cursed in his mind as he kneeled down to the body and bit his lip lightly before gently checking the other's pulse - and thankfully, he found it.

"Can you hear me?" He asked softly as he slowly picked the merman up, narrowing his eyes slightly before quickly beginning to walk back home. There was a nasty wound on this guy's leg... He should still have some things to help him take care of the injury.

Fintan had been laying unconscious on the sandy shore of land for over an hour or so now. He was completely unaware of his surroundings, and he felt this annoying, dry, itchy sensation all over his body. His face twisted a bit at the uncomfortable feeling as his bare human form took shape on the dry land. As he slowly started to wake up, his senses reacted before his body did. First his smell came, and he recognized the salty air that he would breath when surfacing above water. Then his hearing, also hearing the chirping of birds and soft whistle of wind.

He shifted a bit, trying to move and wake up, but his body still stiff and sore in pain. His hands moved slightly on the surface beneath him, and it felt similar to the ocean floor. Yet, it was dry. Everything was so dry. It was almost uncomfortable. Not unbearable though. He was beyond confused, and he heard a voice speaking to him, the touch of a smooth, not scaly hand on his shoulder and moving to pick him up.

He didn't know how, but he felt different, heavier. Gravity played a much bigger role on land than in water, of course. He shifted a bit, wincing, as he slowly opened his eyes, revealing foreign, bright golden eyes used to see in the dark depths of the ocean floor. It took him a minute to register everything. His eyes landed on the face of the being carrying him, and as he suddenly remembered what happened, he cried out a bit, squirming, only to result in him falling to the ground, wincing in pain as he landed on his hands and knees, putting pressure on his wound in his thigh which hurt a lot. But, past the wound, it was then he realized he had legs, and his eyes were wide, slowly processing what this all meant.

Thomas flinched when he heard the guy he was carrying cry out. "W-Woah, are you okay?" He asked before the other fell down, making the pianist take a step back and let out a soft sigh as he crouched down next to him. "How are you feeling? If you'd let me, I could take care of the wound." The brunet explained calmly and softly as he let out a small smile. "I'm sure you wouldn't want it to get infected... And it would be best to clean it up to prevent that." Thomas said while gently putting a hand on Fintan's shoulder.

"My house isn't too far away, but I should probably carry you... The wound doesn't seem light." The brown eyes seemed soft and gentle as well as he let out a soft breath and furrowed his brows slightly. "How did you end up like that anyway? Is there anyone you could contact with?" Thomas asked with worry slowly rising inside of him. The guy seemed almost terrified- and naked. Maybe he was attacked or something? God, what if he'd lost his memory? Thomas bit down on his lower lip as he nervously waited for the answers... Which he wasn't too sure he'd even get.

When he had realized that he had legs, and his scales and fins were gone, he was shocked. He honestly didn't know what to do. Still on his knees, he sat back on his heels as he put his hands to his legs, feeling them slightly. He tilted his head curiously in thought, before hearing the other speak up to him. But he didn't quite understand the language. He frowned a bit, glancing up at him. Was this man human? He had never seen a human before, but heard stories, they had two limbs of legs, instead of a tail fin. Looking at himself then back at the man - who he guessed was a human - he realize it must be true, and he was now human as well?

As the other spoke a lot of words, Fintan found his head spinning to try and keep up and comprehend what the other was saying. Somehow, the language seemed familiar, stuck in the back of his biological knowledge that his ancestors used to speak. After all, mermen and maids had come from the homosapien line of creatures, and were relatively closely related to humans, simply, living under water. His ancestors used to be human, and speak such a language. But as his kind never used it, it was lost in the depths of his mind, trying hard to bring it to surface to understand.

Fintan just sat there, a confused look etched on his face as he just stared up at the other, golden eyes inspecting the others body and form. He didn't know how to speak the language the male spoke, though, he knew he could know how to, it just needed some resurfacing. He sat there like a lost child, unknowing what to do with himself, and hoping the other would help him in some way. He had only reacted out of surprise a moment ago, but now knew, he wouldn't be able to get anywhere on his own. He didn't even know how to use legs. He was sure he wouldn't even be able to stand.

Thomas blinked a few times and sighed out softy as he reached out and lightly brushed away the hair from the merman's face. "Do you understand what I'm saying?..." He asked softly before sighing and shaking his head - this was probably a foreigner or something like that... Great. How was he supposed to explain he was trying to help?

Slowly and carefully, the brunet picked the other back up into his arms and let out a small smile. "I'm gonna take care of you." He said softly and gave him a reassuring smile, hoping that the other wouldn't get scared again... Thomad began walking towards his house while the few shells he'd collected hit against each other in the bag from time to time - he couldn't say he didn't like the sound. In fact,it was probably one of the most calming ones...

Thomas lightly bit on his lower lip as he continued walking, his hands strong, yet extremly gentle. The man glanced down at the merman in his hands and sighed out softly again, feeling slight discomfort - he had to give this guy some clothes... He didn't want him cold- or harrassed by perverts. It was quite a good thing Thomas was the one that found him - he wasn't going to do anything bad. Soon they reached a small house near a forest and Thomas let out a smile. "Here we are..."

Fintan looked up at the male with large confused eyes. He just stared at him, before glancing around his surroundings. He didn't see many people around, but he also knew that he was on land, he wasn't that stupid. Breathing the salty ocean air through his lungs was a lot different, and a much stranger feeling. It was lighter as it passed through his lungs. He reached up, touching his neck, and felt smooth skin - no gills. He could feel the air pass through his nose, and through his mouth. It was different, and he was lost in thought, rubbing his neck when he heard the human speaking again and his soft hands touching him, picking him up.

Fintan tensed a bit, but didn't object. He knew he wouldn't be able to get far. Although, he was very curious and excited to try out his new land legs, and see how the worked, to walk on them. But he had a feeling he wouldn't do well with them, and would probably fall or something. Walking on land was a lot different than swimming in the water. A human would probably refer to it as learning to walk like a newborn baby all over again.

Fintan looked around with his curious eyes as the other carried him. He looked up at the male's facial features, and then to his chest, where the male was wearing something. He looked down at his own body, and saw nothing covering it. But looking at the male, he couldn't see his body, for their was this odd soft material in the way. He put his hand to it, touching it curiously and feeling the fabric, it was like nothing in the sea, and why would the man wear something over his own skin? It was a foreign idea to the merman.

Hearing the male say something again, he looked up when they had stopped, and saw a large building like construction. Was this what humans called home? Fintan wanted to talk, and communicate with the other, but trying to concentrate hard on the right words or language was tiring. As well as he still wasn't fully healed from the bleeding wound - which was still a large gash and still bleeding, so, that was effecting his consciousness as well. He wanted to stay awake, to experience more of the dry earth, but before he knew it, his vision faded again and he was unconscious.

(sorry he's not talking and it may be hard to go off of him, but I promise he'll talk soon and it will make it more interesting! Probably in the next post even x3 )

Thomas blinked a few times when he felf the hand on his chest - as if the other was testing out his clothing. He was wearing a simple, plain black shirt and jeans - seemingly nothing unusual... The brunet sighed out softly as he entered the house - and only then realized that the guy he was carrying fell unconscious. His light brown eyes widened before a small curse left his lips and he hurried to the bathroom where he kept most of the medicine.

Once there, he gently set the other down on the toilet seat and sighed as he began cleaning the wound gently before wrapping bandages around his thigh. He made sure they were tight, but not too tight - he didn't want to stop the blood circulation, after all, as well as he didn't want them falling off. Thomas sighed softly as he picked the young merman up and carried him off to the bedroom, slowly laying him down on the bed. His bedroom was quite small, with a bed, a piano and wardrobe as well as some cupboards. He didn't have that much money, after all...

Quietly, the pianist found some loose, comfortable clothes and gently slid them on the merman so he wouldn't get cold. After this, he sighed softly and turned to his piano. Guess he won't visit his sister today... Thomas sat down on the small chair next to the piano and began playing something he'd created himself - a soft melody, calm and quiet, just like the sea when there was no wind. He called it “The song of seashells“.

Fintan leaned against the male that was carrying him, sleeping soundly, seemingly, and resting from the battle he had had with that shark earlier. He remained unconscious as the other tended to him and took care of his wound. But when he had cleaned it out, thus getting his skin a bit wet where the wound was, small scales started to slowly appear for a few moments from the water contact to his skin, though still leaving his gashed skin of his wound open. But soon it had dried up when bandaged and the scales disappeared, Fintan remaining asleep through all of this.

He didn't wake up until about twenty minutes after he had been set on the bed. He shifted a bit as he slowly woke up, and felt something soft, warm and dry beneath him. He had forgotten a few moments how he was on land, and survived, in a human, land form. He slowly opened his eyes, hearing a soft melody, enchanting to his ears. He shifted a bit, slowly sitting up as he glanced around the unfamiliar surroundings. Where was he now, he wondered? Was this the males home? He glanced to his pained leg, seeing it bandaged, similarly to how a wound would be bandaged in the sea. But running his hands over the cloth, he could tell it was a different fabric. He also noticed he was wearing items similar to that of the human. He tugged at the cotton shirt a bit, but left it be as his eyes finally landed on the source of the music.

He smiled a bit, watching the other play "Is that music?" he spoke. It seemed with having lost consciousness and woken again, he had retained some of the language the humans spoke back into his head a bit. But his words and language was choppy, not fluent. And his voice. It didn't technically have an accent. But his voice in his own sounded melodic, enchanting, too smooth and musical to seem human.

Thomas was completely engulfed in the piano as he closed his eyes, just letting the music carry him far away - this was how he always escaped from the reality, which mostly wasn't nice for him. This way he was able to forget about every bad thing that ever happened to him - the fact that his sister had skin cancer, the fact that his mother was depressed and alone... And the fact which he learned not too long ago - it seemed that he wasn't able to ever have children. It was like someone just didn't want him to have a family...

The brunet flinched slightly when he was so suddenly pulled out of his little perfect world by a voice. His playing faltered and he sighed out softly before turning to look at the merman. "Have you not heard music before?" The man asked quietly as he stood up and walked towards him, worry showing in his eyes. "How are you feeling? Do you need anything?" The pianist couldn't help this - he was used to taking care of both his sister and mom, so caring for others was just something necessary for him by now.

"This... This piece is actually my own." He finally said with a soft smile as he sat down on the edge of the bed and sighed out, his ligh brown eyes turning to the other's leg. "Can I know your name?"

Fintan noticed the other flinch and wondered if maybe he had scared him. He did kind of speak up from no where. He watched the other who had an almost sad sort of look on his face, before it turned to concern and asking if he was alright, among with a few other questions. He shifted as he sat up fully, moving his legs awkwardly, as though he didn't know what to do with them. Quiet honestly, he really didn't know what to do with them. He wasn't used to having two limbs that could bend differently at the same time. He legs at them as he moved them around a bit curiously, before the other was speaking to him again.

"I am okay" he spoke a bit chopped, trying to get used to the language and different vocals he used. He watched the other as he sat on the edge of the bed, and he moved a bit, trying to mimic him as he moved to sit on the edge too. He let his legs bend and hang over the side as the other did, and then swung his feet a bit, still amused and trying to get used to the feeling of two limb and all. He glanced back up at the other "Music? I have heard before...but much differently" he said. In the sea, there were types of music and all. But of course, it wasn't with same supplies or instruments as on land. So they sounded different. "It is very good" he said with a slight smile as the other claimed that music as his own.

Hearing the other ask for his name, he nodded, answering him "I am called Fintan. What are you?" he asked curiously. He couldn't help but glance over the others body again. It was obvious it wasn't in a sexual way though, more so, curious, and intrigued sort of way. Humans were such interesting creatures. Assuming that is, this man is human "You are....human, yes?" he then asked, wanting to make sure. He'd wanted to meet a human for so long. His father often said awful things about them. But this man seemed nice, and not like his fathers horror stories at all.

Thomas was pleasently surprised by the fact that the guy replied - so he did know english then... The brunet let out a small smile as he nodded. "It's good to hear that." Even so, his way of talking was a bit weird... And why was he moving his legs in such a weird way? It couldn't be from the injury - it was like he wasn't used to having legs at all. But... That was insane, right? Like, unless he'd been paralized... But no, that would be equally insane.

These thoughts were slowly pushed out of his mind when he heard the small compliment about his music - these always made him feel good. "Thank you..." He muttered out in slight embarrassment - sure, he liked getting positive comments about his music, but... He still felt a bit shy about letting others hear it. Thomas always thought that it wasn't worth any attention - since he wasn't a professional, he felt that his music wasn't as good as it should be for people to listen.

"I'm Thomas." He said softly with a small, a bit timid smile on his face. The brunet found it a bit weird that the other was looking over his body in such a curious way - he wasn't anything special... At least he thought that way until he heard the question. "Umm... Yeah?.. What else could I be?" He asked with a small, soft chuckle before tilting his head to one side. "I mean, you're human too... Aren't you..?" Thomas questioned with his expression turning into a confused one. No, this question was nonsense... He hoped that this guy would just take it as some joke.

Fintan looked to the other curiously, wanting to know and learn everything about the other. Even if he wasn't human...he wasn't like anything in the sea. He wanted to explore everything the land had to offer, everything that lived and breathed air. He smiled, his eyes clearly showing his eagerness and curiosity as the other spoke. He looked at the others face, smiling a bit seeing him flush and seem to become a bit shy and embarrassed about his music "It is good, you should be proud of it, not shy" he said with a smile.

When the other offered his name, he tilted his head curiously "Tom-us" he sounded out slowly "Thomas" he then repeated, getting used to the odd sort of name "What a weird name..." he mumbled curiously, not realizing his own name, Fintan, probably was a bit curious and odd to the human in turn. He wondered if all names on land were different, odder than those in the sea. What types of creatures were on the land? Did they have odd names or species they went by?

His mind was trying to wrap around so many different things at one, until the other said he was human, and his eyes lit up "Oh, wow! Really?" he grinned then frowned when the other seemed confused as to what else he could be "Well, I don't know, you could be like, what are they called....a sloth....or...or a monkey.....or....there are so many things!" he spoke. Fintan didn't know what any land creatures looked like. If someone told him Thomas was a bear, he would believe it, or even an elephant. "Me?" he blinked at the sudden turn of question. It was then his excitement died down. Maybe he shouldn't tell the other? He remembered his fathers stories of humans wanting to catch and treasure mermen and mermaids. But Thomas seemed nicer than that....Fintan just trailed off "Oh uh...." not knowing what else to say. Should he say he was human?

Thomas' eyebrows slowly raised when the other was just so excited about him being a human. "Uhm... Yeah, really..." He muttered out in confusion as he sighed and rubbed his forehead as the other continued talking. "...Is this some joke? Or is this really your first time seeing a simple human?" He questioned quietly before he slowly raised his light brown, almost golden eyes to the other - and the change in his mood was enough to answer the question.

Slowly, the man stood up and took a small step back. "So, what are you?" He asked seemingly calmly even though fear was bubbling up inside of him. A demon? An angel? Some other weird mythological creature? The human could feel his heartbeat becoming faster and faster each second. "What are you going to do... To me...?" Thomas finally asked, his voice trembling the slightest bit. He took a mythological creature in his house. His bed. It listened to his music. What was going to happen next? Was he going to die? Maybe eaten alive?

The brunet was quickly thinking over his options - and realized he had to chance of escaping at all. He was completely and absolutely in this male's hands... Was this even a male? Maybe it was genderless? But no, it had normal genitalias... Ones of a man, it should be male - unless it was able to switch genders. Thomas didn't even realize he began calling Fintan an 'it'...

Fintan frowned a bit as he shifted uncomfortably. He really did want to tell the other. But then, even though he hated his fathers nagging and overprotective self, overly wary of humans, he still kept in mind that there were terrible stories about them. But they couldn't all be bad, right? As he was contemplating this over, and trying to think, he realize the other had grown suspicious and fearful of him. Snapping out of his thoughts, he realize the other had gotten off the bed, and was moving away from him, as though trying to create a safe distance.

"Ah, no, wait-!" he said, fearing the other was going to run away, Fintan quickly tried to stand up and follow after him, but, he completely forgot about his legs, and he didn't even stand up all the way, before he went crashing and tumbling to the ground "Ah!" he gasped, his legs giving out under his weight the second he tried to stand on them. He winced, frowning as he shifting, managing to get into a sitting position.

"I-I did not mean to frighten you, I do not wish to harm you....I don't think I could. Humans are a genetically superior race than I, after all, having legs and all..." he trailed off as he looked to his own useless legs. He sighed, and then glanced back up at the other "You are right, I am not human....but i wanted to meet one, even despite the terrible stories I have heard about what they do to my kind...that's why i hesitated in telling you what I am" he mumbled.

Thomas' light brown eyes widened when he realized the other couldn't even stand up on itself... Or was this all just an act? The brunet bit down on his lower lip as he tilted his head, his hands shaking the slightest bit before he started walking closer to the merman. "You... You still didn't answer my question." He said quietly, fear still in his eyes- though it was mixed with worry. Bot for himself and for Fintan...

"What do you mean by your kind? What in the world could we do?" Thomas questioned quietly as he crouched down next to the merman, still keeping a bit of a distance in case he had to run. The man took in a shaky breath as he observed the other with fearful eyes, his body tense as if he was waiting for some surprise attack. Though who knew what this creature might do... Sure, Thomas was aware that there were all kinds of creatures in this world... But he had never met them before.

After a long while of thinking, the brunet slowly picked the merman back up and put him on the bed - no matter how scared or afraid he was, his heart was still leaning towards helping this creature. Thomas gulped down nervously and stayed standing next to the bed - it was even visible how his body trembled. He didn't want to die yet...

Fintan frowned a bit, averting his eyes to the ground before him as he wasn't sure what to tell the other. But he could tell how fearful the other was, and maybe if he told him, he wouldn't be scared anymore. He let the other help him back up to the bed where he sat again, looking to Thomas with slightly saddened eyes "Please don't be afraid...I just....i wanted to meet a human...and be friends..." he mumbled softly as he shifted uncomfortably. There was a big risk to tell the other what he was. But he figured he could deal with it. He didn't want to ruin his chance at befriending a human.

"I'm a merman" he finally spoke as he glanced up at the other, his eyes showing he was serious and not lying to the other any more. He sighed softly, looking over the other "I am sorry i didn't tell you" he mumbled as he watched the others reaction carefully. He wondered what would happen now. Would the other still fear him? Or, drag him off somewhere or something? If he was brought somewhere, he wouldn't be able to resist the other, in the form that he was right now.

Thomas' eyes widened when he heard just what Fintan was. A merman?... Like, one of those creatures that have the upper part of their body of human and the lower part of a fish? "No way..." He muttered out as his gaze slowly fell onto the other's legs. "But... You have legs.." The pianist said quietly with slight confusion in his voice as he slowly sat down on the bed next to the merman and reached out to lightly brush his fingers over his cheek.

"You're.. A merman." He repeated to himself before his expression slowly softened and he let out a small smile. "Why are you here, on land?" Thomas asked softly as his eyes moved to the wound. "And how did you get this?" He asked quietly, gulping down a bit nervously. "Should I, uhm, bring you to the ocean again?" He asked while tilting his head to one side, furrowing his brows slightly. This was really confusing...

Fintan watched the others expression carefully, trying to gauge his reaction to what he said. Maybe he wouldn't even believe him? He heard humans could be pretty simple minded and not believe in anything they don't have proof of. He watched the other, as the fear seemed to completely leave him, and he seemed more intrigued and curious about him now. Fintan smiled lightly, calming down. It didn't seem like the other was going to do anything to harm him "I do...though, this is my first time out of the water...so, I don't know how to use them exactly" he said, as he want back to swinging his legs off the edge of the bed.

"All of us merpeople can have this human looking form. But if our bodies dry out, then as a survival ability, we naturally turn to land creatures, being, or most close relative, humans. I can't stay on land forever, obviously, but, I can stay for a bit, and visit land whenever I please" he found he couldn't stop talking, now that he had nothing to hide. He felt he wanted to share everything with this human, with Thomas.

"I had gotten into a fight with my father, about going on land and everything. I actually wanted to come to land, but, I hadn't actually been planning it they way it happened. I separated from the clan...and got attacked by a shark. Thats how the wound happened, and I ended on land, washed up." he explained as he looked back up from his wound to the other "If you'd like...I can show you?" he offered, referring to his merman form. "We don't even need to go back to the ocean....if you have a body of water or something in the house?" he suggested. Something like a bath would work, or a pool if he had one, but, Fintan didn't know those things existed on land, so, he couldn't suggest them himself.

Thomas let out a small, somewhat timid smile as he nodded. "I see... Well, I could help you with learning to use your legs?" He offered with a slightly confused expression. Why did it sound so weird to offer this kind of a thing? The brunet lightly bit his lower lip as he listened to what the merman told next. "Oh... That's pretty convenient." He muttered out more to himself than to Fintan as he stared at the wall in front of him and sighed. It was still pretty hard to believe that this guy right here was a merman...

His light brown eyes turned back to the other when he began explaining why he was on land. "A shark?" He asked with worry in his voice as he glanced at the injury. "That's pretty lucky, to get out with only this much..." The man muttered out with a sigh as he looked back at Fintan. The suggestion was actually quite nice to him - and he could finally believe it fully... Well, if something actually happened, that is.

Thomas nodded slightly as he let out a smile and picked the merman into his arms, then began walking towards the bathroom. "Don't you want to go home?" He asked softly as he reached the room and entered it, setting Fintan down on the toilet seat before turning to the bath and turning the water on to fill it up. "Oh, and take off your clothes... I think that'll be easier..."

Fintan's eyes lit up when the other offered to help him learn to use his legs "Sure!" he said excitedly. He really actually wanted to walk, and to learn how to, it seemed fun. He watched the other who seemed still a bit in shock learning all of this. He smiled a bit, finding it amusing how the other seemed intrigued, and glad he wasn't frightened or trying to attack him or anything like that. See, now he was sure his father was wrong. He smiled as he glanced back to the wound "I suppose so. Sharks dont usually attack us. It just caught me off guard, we can usually take care of them, most of the time, anyways" he said with a shrug of his shoulders, letting the other pick him up and carry him to another room.

He frowned a bit when the other asked if he wanted to go home "Eventually maybe....but right now, I'm really enjoying land" he said with a smile "I'm glad you are the first human i got to meet" he said with a smile as he sat down on the edge of the tub while the other filled it with water. He was kind of excited to be able to show the other. And it was still in the males home too, so, no one else would accidentally see and find out about him. He was still cautious of humans, of course.

He was at first confused at what the other was talking about, with clothes and everything. It took a bit of talking and confusion for him to figure out thats what was on his skin "So...these are clothes?" he muttered as he pulled them off "Why do you wear them?" he asked curiously as he set them to the side, not trying to cover himself up now that he was naked or anything.

Seeing the water was filled up and now turned off, Fintan dipped his hand into the water, making sure it wasn't too hot, since that would end up irritating his body, since, he lived in cold water. The fact it wasn't salt water wouldn't bother him. When he dipped his hand into the water, scales glimmered in the light as the covered parts of his hand, some fin like attributes coming from the side of his forearm. He glanced back at Thomas, smiling a bit before he moved and pulled his body into the entire body of water, splashing a bit of his as his body slowly started to cover in scales and fins and what not.

Thomas blinked and let out a soft chuckle at the other's words. “I don't think it's that fun here...“ He muttered out and sighed while looking at the water. “I mean, we have silly misunderstandings that somehow turn into wars, the nature is dying because of what we do... And now everyone is trying to show that they care. I... I just can't stand it.“ The brunet said quietly, something like anger in his voice - even if just a little, it was here...

Still, he felt his heart skip a beat when he heard those seemingly innocent and simply happy words from the merman. He was happy to have met him first?.. “Guess I would be glad if you were the first merman I met in the ocean as well.“ He said with a small chuckle and stopped the water once the tube was filled. His brown eyes showed slight amusement when the other seemed slightly confused about what were ‘clothes‘. He nodded when the merman tugged at his clothes and smiled gently. “We use them so we wouldn't get cold, most often. There are a lot of different clothing here, for each season, even. It's really different than from what is at sea... At least I think that way.“ Thomas finished quietly as his smile saddened slowly.

As he watched Fintan getting into the bath, the man could feel his eyes widening slowly. He was just... Beautiful. Thomas felt his jaw dropping slightly as he gazed at the young merman and slowly gulped down a bit nervously. His gaze trailed from the other's face and arms to his legs... That now were a tail. Thomas couldn't manage to say a word for a while... And when he finally did, he could only say one thing. “You're beautiful.“ These words that left his mouth were only honest...

Fintan shook his head as the other said he didn't think it was that fun "I mean...i may not have really seen much or anything, but it all looks very interesting....I hope I can see so much more of it..." he trailed off, daydreaming a bit of what the world must be like on land. Even breathing air instead of water always made him interested. Of course, he'd breathed air before. Being merman, he could surface the ocean and all, breathing air. But actually being here on land was different. It was more exiting.

He smiled in though, before he heard the water turn off and he glanced to it. He smiled a bit, testing out the temperature of the water a bit before he slipped into it. He hummed a bit in slight delight, sinking into the water and enjoying the feeling of getting soaked again. He ducked his head under water, and stayed there for half a minute or so, enjoying it as everything about him changed. He surfaced again and leaned back against the edge of the tub, looking to Thomas to see his reaction.

Hearing the others words, he blinked a bit, and couldn't help but blush "O-oh....I've....never heard that before" he said a bit embarrassed. Of course he hadn't. He only lived around all sea creatures and other merman and mermaids. They were the only ones that could speak and give opinions like that. But, they were all the same species so, it wasn't that odd or different to see a merperson. Thomas surely had never seen one before, Fintan knew that, by how the other almost seemed skeptic about it all.

His tail was obviously a bit bigger than legs, having a lot more fat in it to keep him warm in the depth of the sea, and it was longer for power in swimming as well. So it didn't fully fit in the tub, and he flipped it up and let it hang off the other edge of the tub. He looked to Thomas, smiling a bit seeing how speechless he was, it was almost embarrassing how he was staring at him "Uhm, you can touch it if you want to" he offered, since the other seemed so intrigued and unable to look away.

Thomas let out a soft smile as he crouched down next to the tub, looking at Fintan with his eyes showing some special kind of calmness. "Really? But you are." It didn't seem hard for the man to say that - he was used to telling this to his sister all the time... The treatment, after all, caused her to lose her hair, so she was really broken simply by the thought. And yet, Thomas kept on repeating how beautiful and pretty she was - in his eyes, she truly was the most beautiful girl in the world.

The man blinked a few times at the suggestion and let out a small chuckle while watching the merman. "Touch it? That's the same if I would say that you can touch my legs if you want to. Doesn't that sound weird?" The brunet asked with a soft laugh leaving his mouth. His gaze trailed off to the scales on Fintan's arm and, well, these he wanted to touch. For sure. Gently, he brushed his fingers over the scales, a slightly fascinated expression on his face. "Do these protect you at all?" He asked softly as he looked at the merman.

The soft smile didn't seem to be disappearing - but the need to touch that gigantic tail grew as well. With a sigh, Thomas gave in and reached out to lightly slide his fingers across the surface, enjoying the texture - even if it was a bit slimy, it was somewhat pleasant to touch. His light brown eyes soon turned back to the merman as he pulled his hand away. "So, every merman and mermaid is like you? How many of you live here, in this area?" Thomas asked gently, his voice rather quiet... Simply because he was talking a lot more than he usually did.

Fintan only blushed more as the other insisted how he was beautiful, and he just looked down to his colorful scales. He smiled a bit, realizing that, although embarrassed, he actually very much enjoyed the praise and compliment. He smiled a bit, before hearing the other question touching his tail. He chuckled a bit, shrugging his head "I don't mind, it's not that odd to me" he said smirking a bit as he playfully flicked his tail to splash some water onto Thomas.

He smiled, finding himself happy at the others curiosity about him, and touching his arms, he let him. "They protect me from a lot of things. They insulate my heat so i don't get cold in the depth of the sea. They also are supposed to protect me from such things like sharks. But this was a full grown great white i ran into. But even still, without these scales, I probably would have lost my entire tail, and died" he frowned with a shrug, looking to the upper half of his tail where the would could be seen, the scales in that area were all torn, a lot having come off, and a fleshy looking area revealed through bent and broken scales.

He listened to the other as he asked all these questions, and he chuckled a bit, amused, and enjoying it. "Yes. Every merperson is able to come to land as I have. But no one really has. There are countless stories of humans, and what they have done to us in the past when we tried surfacing and growing our legs. Many people are too scared to try. I suppose I did believe the stories....but, i was too curious about land to care" he shrugged with a smile "We travel in clans, and settle in areas, mine obviously being here, and it being our territory, as far as merpeople in the sea go. Think of like a population. Do you have those here on land? A group of people in one area, and lost of other groups to their own areas? I'd say there are about fifty or sixty in my clan, it's a bit small than usual clans"
