Viperscreed Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 A large dark haired lion laid by the water's edge, his toes lightly dipped into the mud. He watched the water carefully for any sign of crocodiles.
bluepenguin123 Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 A young sandy-toned hyena was hiding in a patch of overgrown grass, eying an insect on a nearby rock. He was putting what he learned from his pack to use and intended to catch the insect as hunting practice. He edged closer to his chosen prey, wriggling his shoulders, preparing to pounce. He counted to three in his head and lunged at the bug, missing completely as he flew over the rock and began rolling. He attempted to stop himself, but the ground was soaking wet and muddy. He continued rolling until he suddenly fell off the waters edge and into the river, his head bobbing above the current every now and then, granting him time to catch a breath and splash wildly.
Viperscreed Posted August 25, 2012 Author Posted August 25, 2012 The lion sat straight up at the sound of a splash and looked into the river to see a young animal in the water. He leapt into the water and swam to the other. The lion dived down and resurfaced under the other so that they were on his back.
bluepenguin123 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 The hyena coughed and spluttered, regaining his breath. He looked around to see how he was saved and saw he was on the back of a creature much bigger than himself. He shook his head to get the excess water from his face. Feeling dizzy from the sudden movement, he let his head flop onto the lion below him.
Viperscreed Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 The lion carefully went to shore and laid the hyena on the mud. "You okay?" He asked clearly.
bluepenguin123 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 "A little...groggy?" The hyena informed, his voice a little gruff. He sighed as he was placed on the mud. "Thanks." (gah, brain Y U NOT WORKING NOW!?)
Viperscreed Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 "What are you doing this far into lion territory anyway?" The lion asked the hyena, watching him with golden brown eyes. (Brain, I know what we're going to do tonight Muhahaha *thats totally not how the cartoon goes XD*)
bluepenguin123 Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 "Practicing," the hyena sighed. "But I overestimated my pounce." He lifted his head and looked at the lion curiously. "Your territory? I didn't realise it went out this far." (again fail post...why brain? WHY!!!!)
Viperscreed Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 "We widened our borders for the dry season." The lion explained. "How much did you over estimate?" He asked, the hyena looked a little old to not know how to hunt properly. (X3)
bluepenguin123 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 "There was a bug in the middle of a rock...my body thought it was a good idea to jump over the rock," he explained as best he could. "It makes sense, widening your borders for that." The hyena smiled at the lion, "I'm Nao, just thought you might want to know," he introduced awkwardly, usually his mother made embarrassing introductions. Often calling him various endearments involving his name in some obscure way.
Viperscreed Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 "I'm Ariel." The lion said and glanced around, looking for the rock. Once he spotted it he walked over to it and exaimned it for a few moments. "Can you show me what you do?" Ariel asked looking back at Nao. (Girly name lion!)
