brohne Posted May 31, 2011 Author Posted May 31, 2011 Hi! I think this thread ought to be placed under the General BL Talk forum. Thank you. I wasn't sure, so thought here might be safest. ^^ If I knew how to move it I would.
hinata--chan Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Paper back or hard back ? I'd spend 10$-17. For you though ^_^ I would spend up to 20$ .But normally I wont spend 20$ and up unless its a hard back . 1
Gatichan Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Here a yoi novel cost from 5,95€ /6,95€ upwards. At least in the area where I live, the range isn't very much and there are predominantly more shoujo than yaoi novels. So I have to admit that I find out about new releases and get good hints about great manga from the net, mostly from scanlations. But if I really, really like a series, I try to buy the paperback. I think this price is alright, but I would be willing to pay up till 10€ (absolute pain limit) if I'm really, really crazy about the mangaka and wanted to support the series.
Ragne Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Where I live they rarely publish yaoi or shounen ai and they usually cost around 10 euro D:
Carnificinam Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 They don't print yaoi where i live. Download-wise it'd depend on the quality of the story. If it's a chapter or two long and has little to no plot i probably wouldn't get it. On the flip side if t's really good i'd pay no more than 25 USD which when you're and unemployed highschool student is a lot of money lol.
ukemextreme Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 local authors don't actually publish such stuff since our society doesn't fully accept BL; some are actually still prejudiced aainst them. but our national bookstores sell those wwhich are published by international authors and they cost around 300++ pesos or €5 or $8 - - - Updated - - - local authors don't actually publish such stuff since our society doesn't fully accept BL; some are actually still prejudiced aainst them. but our national bookstores sell those wwhich are published by international authors and they cost around 300++ pesos or €5 or $8
Gatichan Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 There's also the problem of how manga books are put up inside actual stores. While, for example, in the public library of my city, the few yaoi mangas that are available are put in a section that stands out rather obviously and lets everyone know that whoever takes a book from "that" bookcase likes "that stuff", very few bookstores sell manga in the first plae (only the larger affiliated groups) and they're always placed inside the children's section. Because of this, there simply aren't any yaoi manga, unless the book shelf is high and those special ones are high out of reach from small hands.
