Pain is what I often feel

Each time I stop to breathe

No matter how I try and try

That feeling just won’t leave.

 

Anger also comes to mind

Though I make myself ignore it

What must I do to keep from breaking

How long must I endure it.

 

Sadness isn’t far behind

These tears you see are very real

But I’m too weak to share the wealth

So you don’t know how I must feel.

 

Fear is also on the list

You’ll see it clearly in my eyes

Although I wear an outward smile

It’s just another great disguise

 

Happiness is just a joke

And something we won't ever see

All because someone didn’t like

That I was only being me.
