A siren without a voice

The Ocean. Holding beauty both above and below its surface. However if you do not respect her, she can turn deadly and dangerous at any given moment. Her wrath can destroy mountains and sink islands...... Never underestimate the Sea.....She will kill you... the Sky is were you belong little one.... Those were the last thoughts in Tudus' mind before he fell from the sky, exhaustion and dehydration finally taking it's toll. Landing with a loud thump, and a sickening crunch as he crashed onto on of his wings onto a small island, in the hot sand.

A crack, a groan. Hazy and dulled blue eyes opened to nothing but blinding sun. Too bright .... Thirsty.... Water A wing lifted to the air, before it twitched, and a whispered scream flitted through the open air. It hurts!! Somebody .... Please!!

Tudus tries to lift himself on his legs. They felt like they were burning!! He looked down to see his legs were red.

How long was he unconscious?! Everything burned. And his wing.... It's not supposed to bend that way!!

It looked twisted, nearly .... Broken.

With a sigh Aios steps out of his small shelter, a hand up to shield his eyes from the bright sun. Time to go gather food and needed items for his trip to the main island. Normally he would be out earlier, nearly with the rise of the sun, but the night before he had been out late to try and earn a little extra money at the docks before heading home. Living alone is both easier and harder than living with others as you only need to take care of yourself, but it can also be hard being the only one to bring in food and the like.

Shaking himself of the thoughts, he gathers his cloak around him despite it being too warm to wear one. Grabbing his basket, he puts the straps over his shoulders and heads to the beach with his spear in hand. Today he'll fish and briefly look for things of value on the shore before getting other foodstuffs to trade and taking in the few handmade items he has finished. Hopefully what he has will be enough to get some more medicine, clothing, and maybe shoes.

Pausing, he frowns for a moment thinking he had heard something, then shrugs and continues on. It is still early yet so he spends time catching fish until he has about a third of his basket filled with a cushioning of seaweed to help preserve the fish. He then travels along the length of the beach picking up some clams, crabs, and even an occasional shell. "...I will at least eat well tonight." He comments softly, voice a bit rough as if not really used to speaking.

Looking up he suddenly stops and frowns. He can see a shape, a body perhaps, moving further ahead. However, as he inches forward warily, he swears that he can see what looks like wings. Getting close enough to be heard, but far away enough to use his spear to defends himself, he finally reaches the figure on the sand. "Who are you and what are you doing here?"

Whipping his head around, Tudus revealed a looked of panic. This creature has a spear!! His wing is broken, his weakened and dehydrated. What is he gonna do?! The bird began pushing himself away from the other.

He's gonna kill me!!! Tudus looked around. He spotted a thick branch that he could use as a club. He held it above him, causing his shoulders to flex and move his wings. The movement sent a horrid pain from his wing through his burnt back.

Dropping the club, Tudus opened his mouth in a silent scream. He fell over on his stomach gripping his shoulder and panting from the heat and pain.

The bird stops his panicked flailing for a moment. .... He hasn't attacked yet.... Tudus sends a cautious glare to the white haired male, doing his best to bite back the searing pain. If he could just get out of the heat... and get something to drink....

He careful held up his free hand, with the slightest twitch of pain. He slowly spelled out the word 'Water' in the sand.

He sent the other a pleading look hoping his judgement was right.

Watching the other struggle to get away, then ask for water, Aios realizes what happened. Or at least, what is wrong with the other. Attaching his spear to the holster on his basket, he goes over and picks up the winged male. Heading back home he is careful to not jostle the other too much. As he crosses the sand, the footprints that are left behind seem a bit odd in their depression despite being shoe-shaped.

Once they enter the forest on the island the temperature drops a bit causing Aios to let out a soft sigh of relief. Between his food and now the man, creature?, he's carrying he is getting very warm under his cloak. Thankfully they reach his abode which is a simple wooden cabin that is on stilts in case of heavy rains or storms flooding the island. Inside he carefully sets the other down then goes about getting some water and medicine for his unexpected guest.

Going back over, the other having been set on his bed, he holds out the glass and medicine. "Drink slowly. The medicine will help with the pain and prevent infection." It is also a sedative so that the other will be asleep as he tends to the wounds as best as he can. It serves no purpose to try and tend to the obviously broken wing with the other awake. After the medicine and water is taken from him, he sets about taking care of the food he's gathered to make sure it doesn't spoil and to sort out how much he'll keep versus transport for sale.

Finishing his task, he glances back to see if the other is asleep yet and is content to wait until he is. The other will have to sleep eventually, and once he is Aios goes over and with a grim look of determination sets about tending to the wounds as best as his meager skill and supplies will allow. Done he cleans up himself, the supplies, and then carefully wipes the other down before tucking him into the bed. That done he writes a small note and leaves it within sight of the other before gathering his items for sale and heads out.

It is already much later than he'd like and he can only hope to find someone still willing to purchase the fish and clams. He has used up most of what remains of his medicine on the stranger he's found and so will need to restock immediately. Aios doesn't come back until near dusk, and upon entering almost expects the other to be gone as he enters his small home.

The grogginess hit him like a brick wall, then the soreness of his muscles and the sunburn hit him even harder. Tudus let out a groan as he forced himself to get up. Attempting to stretch his stiff wings only proved to be a bad idea. One wing did stretch to full span. The other, however, didn't move. In fact it felt tied down. Tudus quickly inspected his wing in a half hazard way. His fingers touched fabric. ...Bandages?

Looking down, the bird saw he was bandaged and cleaned. Now that he thought about it, he tasted something odd in his mouth... Not the typical herbs he ate to help himself feel better. An ugly scowl crossed his face. He drugged me!! Tudus tried to screech in anger. Nothing but a whispy wheeze. Tudus wished for nothing more then to throw something. The help and water was appreciated, but why drug him?! This stranger could've killed him!!

Upon hearing the other returned, Tudus looked at the other angrily. He pushed himself up from the bed, glaring and holding his still aching shoulder. Unfortunately, because of his people's teachings, he was now bound to return the favor to this stranger.... But he didn't need to know that, did he? He could hide in the trees around the forest, just long enough to heal and then return the favor to the other.

Tudus looked around for something to write with. Didn't he have a fire pit? Tudus could at least ask the other of their name.

Spotting a few stones in the corner, the bird hobbled himself over, and began to scrape out a sentence on the floor in the corner. ' What ... is ... name?' He was hoping his spelling was correct. He hadn't had to write for a very long while. He turned back to the other and pointed.

Upon entering and seeing the other moving around, he frowns slightly even as he removes his shoes. "You should be careful. I had to reset and bind a lot of bones in your wing. Your legs had to be stitched." His voice is a bit hoarse from all the talking he's done today, and it is clear that he is tired from the way his shoulders sag. "The resetting of your bones is why I had to drug you." Aios adds on, almost as an after thought.

Entering into the home, he walks on the tatami mats with a soft sigh of relief even though he keeps his cloak on. Seeing the writing scratched onto his floor he frowns deeply. "Do not destroy my floors. They are hard to replace." He scolds before turning and finding a small drawer, pulls out a pad of paper and a pencil. "Use this." Damage done, he gives a low tired sigh and goes to gather items to repair what he can. Kneeling down he looks at the scrapings and realizes that it's words.

Feeling a bit angry that the other destroyed his home in order to try to talk instead of asking for something to write with first, he ignores the question until he manages to patch the tile. Standing back up he then turns to his guest. "Aios." He states finally. "My name is Aios." Looking expectantly at the other it is clear that he expects a name in return.

Tudus pouted and began to sulk in the corner whilst the other did repairs. So the floors are a little scratched, who would notice anyway. Upon being given the writing items, Tudus stood from the floor, dropping the pencil and pad and sat himself in one of the rafters of the roof. Wings may be broken, but Tudus could still jump. He'll stay for tonight, and leave before dawn and build a nest in a tree nearby. Sit, watch, heal, that was all Tudus thought about. If he is able to watch Aios, he can see what he can do to help, then be on his merry way.

he watched as the covered up his question. The Siren scowled. Well that's rather rude! He was merely asking a name ... which he received once repairs were done. 'Aios' upon hearing the name, Tudus titled his head. .... What does he want?? Aios repaired the scratches on his 'floor', did he want Tudus to help with something, just say so "..."

He pointed to the freshly patched up floor and pointed. Does he want help with that??
