I love to hate Lu Feng, but this movie does remind me of some of the reasons why Xiao Chen can't move on.

I did notice deviations from my memory of the novel, but I still need to watch with English subs to know the full extent of the differences. But I wasn't too surprised that scene was watered down. Part 2 has enough of that dramalama (still a heavily diluted version).

 

What this movie achieved was to remind me that Lu Feng does (did?) have a side that's not pure assholery. When he's sweet he's super lovable. When he's a d!ck, you just want to butcher him. It also helps that I can put a face to the character now. I'm pleasantly surprised and impressed with the actor's portrayal.

No major differences between this and the novels, everything is only slightly modified

the QL/XC/YC fiasco, XC work colleagues, and did his future wife appear that early in his life? I'm 30% sure she met him later at a reunion or something? oh and those rings, this is gonna sound silly since they look so important, but I've no memory of them.

 

 

But any changes from the novels are non-issues because all the elements are there and they fit in this adaptation.

I love how beautiful the movie is and Lu Feng is a puppy :Sleepy:

: Xiaochen had met his future wife in college(he doesnt remember her) when Lufeng was abroad. But when Lufeng attends with Xiaochen his college reunion thats when he remembers her when her friend says that he was pretty popular with d girls and they had made a bet who can talk to him first coz they found him smart, good looking and aloof. Lol he wasn't even aware that he was that popular with d girls coz he was still heartbroken concerning Lufeng so they all thought he was aloof. His future wife is a very quiet and shy girl who has loved him for a long time. In d reunion Lufeng makes d surprised Xiaochen aware that d girl is an heiress . Lol Lufeng gets jealous :leaf4:

: as d girl is rich like him, he told Xiaochen that she is rich and powerful coz her clothes are all specially handmade and her shoes alone wont compare to another girl's full branded attire. Lufeng doesnt know her exactly. But Xiaochen always remembers her with a subtle n pure image, very slender, a clean and a beautiful baby face, looks very shy n docile, he finds her very pleasant see that he sometimes forgets that she is older than him by 3 years. She had a huge crush on him during her 4 years of university and still does.

From the movie's official weibo (and Mr. Gao(actor for Lu Feng) + the author herself) have said that Part 2 will be out on 28th of September!!!!!!!

The thing is, it'll probably be taken down real quickly by China authorities on the legal streaming sites (because of the supposed BDSM scenes that apparently aren't cut out)... Hopefully they'll sell the DVD to make more profit
