Tbh, I'm losing count of the number of versions of each and every manga by Ogeretsu Tanaka. Never before have I seen so many people falling over themselves to scanlate a mangaka's work. No sooner does a new OT manga get released that it appears on the future projects list of multiple scan groups. And then there're the mysterious "anons", whose handiwork (of varying quality) pops up on online manga sites. Most readers are so glad to not have to wait months for a proper scanlation that they happily jump on whatever is presented to them, be it inaccurate translations, or poorly edited/cleaned scans. While I appreciate the efforts expended by so many people, but in the end it makes me wonder, is it worth it to make two, three or more versions of the same thing? Of course, everybody has the freedom to scanlate whatever they want. Ever since Ogeretsu Tanaka's reputation and popularity as a mangaka skyrocketed (and with good reason, she's among my favourites), it's to be expected that her fans want to see her works get translated as soon as possible. Hence, begins the scanlation wars. But what about other great mangas that are getting overlooked in the process of raging battles to release works by a currently popular artist?
