Disappointing Yaoi Anime

Hi guys, had you watched a yaoi anime where after you finished it, you were disappointed? If yes, what are those animes? feel free to share them.

 

As for me, the most (okay, not totally) disappointing anime is Love Stage. Why? ITS THE SEX SCENES!!!!! Well, to those who have watched it, i'm pretty sure you'll agree with me. i have no problems with the characters, the story or plot, or anything in particular, but the sex scenes really put me down, like they 'censored' the body and all that. Well, of course i understand that there are some viewers who are minors, but come on, a lot of fujoshis right now are minors~ ^__^ But, of course, it doesn't mean that i don't like that anime, in fact i absolutely love it as much as i love the manga too!

 

Okay, so much for me...now it's time for your shares too. I love to know what are those disappointing yaoi anime that you had watched.

I agree with you I hate when they censor the good parts!!!!!!! I had that same problem with Junjou Romantica and Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, the freaking sex scenes are some of the most important parts and they black them out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh that aggravated/still aggravates me to no end. I'm so happy they have yaoi anime but if they're gonna make it into an anime they should at least stick to how it is. Fans know or should have an idea what they're getting into, I mean Sensitive Pornagraph was explicit and didn't censor anything out at all but they couldn't do that for JR or SH that are less detailed as that one???? :Stomping: I guess Gravitation the English dubbed version kinda disappointed me too, not the content or story but just the way it was dubbed. The voices just weren't what I imagined and I couldn't take anything seriously because of it. :Angry: I had that same problem with Dubbed Loveless too. I mean I absolutely love the manga and happy there was anime but man again the voices were just so ridiculously off I couldn't watch past the first episode. I guess another problem I have with yaoi animes is that I wish they'd make the series longer instead of just OVAs. The industries invest more on hentai porn than anything else in my opinion why can't they do that for Yaoi that actually has a story?

I don't know that's just the few problems I had but so far I can't say there's any yaoi anime I completely hate. Yaoi's my life there's no way I could hate it lol :In love:

Well, Love Stage was shounen-ai for the television series. ^_^; It's understandable that a public broadcast would not show anything explicit. You know, censorship laws and all that jazz. Most disappointing animated BL, hands down, has to be Angel's Feather. I really can't recommend it to anyone, honestly. I went in willingly, and ended up giving up on it at mid-point, I believe. First BL I couldn't finish. Now, "Kono Danshi, Ningyo Hiroimashita" I finished. I didn't really enjoy much about it, other than the merman could be cute every once in a while. I dunno, I really thought the style of animation wasn't the best, and the episode plots where pretty weak. Other than that, I don't think I've been disappointed with much else.

Togainu no chi and Gakuen Heaven were disappointing because of the lack of romance. Gakuen Heaven was alright but I don't recommend Togainu no chi to anyone.

Well, I haven't watched a lot of yaoi/BL anime (though, lately, there have been a lot of BL being referenced in non-BL anime. It's just amazing).

 

I'd say Dramatical Murder anime was a great letdown (when you compare it to the game). I mean, there wasn't even an intro in the beginning/first episode. As for its yaoi aspect, it's been toned down to shounen-ai, so I understand the whole "we're all friends" ending and flow. But still, it's quite disappointing...

I agree with Kono Danshi Ningyo Hiroimashita being a let down. May I'm heartless idk but that was so boring.

 

Koisuru Boukun disappointed me too. I thought it would be fluffier and funnier and less rapey

Gakuen Heaven, yep. The flow of the plot is too fast.

And Koisuru Boukun, Yeah I agree too! Too many rape, I always think there's no romantic thingy. And there's one problem too, the couple (this is my opinion) I wanted the seme to be uke there, but dang.. Disappointed.

is Togainu no Chi really bad? lol i'm a but curious of this anime that i want to watch it....but so far, i only watch some trailers or cuts of it. Since i didn't play the game, Dramatical Murder is okay for me though the ending quite disturbed me, it's like the makers of the anime were forced to make the last episode into quite a hard-core yaoi(for me) coz of the fans begging it to be a real yaoi xD As for Koisuru Boukun, i stopped watching it as soon as i had seen the first episode...

Togainu no Chi for sure. I heard so many great stuff about the anime and I was looking forward to watching it, and I actually stuck to it til the last freaking episode hoping for something to happen. Anything really.

Tbh, I found a lot of the adaptations very disappointing. Be it the general "atmosphere" or the censorship (totally agree with neko.yaoi for Love Stage!). I mean...I'm not expecting hot scenes like in the mangas, but the feelings are not there :/

However, thankfully there are some exceptions too

Love Stage, it lacks the appeal. I don't know how to explain it but when I watched the ending I was just 'barely' hanging and my interests was close to slipping away. I just finished Love Stage for the heck of it not really finishing the series due to anticipation.

 

I was waiting for Shougo and Rei to have some little glimpse (exp. the present scene), too bad I anticipated for nothing.

Personally I thought the censoring in Love Stage was the best part of the anime. X,D C'mon, if you're using pink elephants to censor, you at least have to get some points in terms of creativity.

omg! I really thought it's just me who noticed about Shougo's voice. I totally was taken aback the first time I hear his voice, i was like "that's not the voice I imagined for him". XDDD

I think that Sekaiichi Hatsukoi was disappointing... I didn't really like the storyline of the main pairing and I didn't like the ending either. compared to Junjou Romantica, it was pretty bad lol

I often don't even mind most of the things that take place in the anime, regarding censorship etc but one anime that really got to me was Gravitation. Maybe it was me but I felt it was such a crappy anime to be honest. Above all one of the character looks like he's 10, no I just couldnt

Personally I don't think Junjou Romantica was that poorly adapted! Yes, the characters had some teen angst self issues but overall it was enjoyable to read. Sometimes I noticed the plot was dragging on but compared to the other adaptations this one was able to come up with not only one or two but THREE SEASONS. For yaoi that's pretty good seeing how most yaoi are OVAs or the ones that are not have poor quality and voice actors hindering the experience for the individuals. Just wanted to point that out because that series is what sparked me to do more research to look for more yaoi series out there.

 

In my opinion the worst and disappointing yaoi was Togainu no Chi! It was all over the place and personally I don't even know where to begin. The ending was... different than I expected. There was barely any BL scenes.

I dissapoiting when I watched "Yuri on ice". I know it isn't tipcal yaoi anime, rather sport anime like others. But I watched it, because I read about it, and know many good opinion, and when I finished I was: WHY?! WHAT IT WAS? For me it wasn't about sports, about love, about rivarly It was good idea I think, but realization was not good.

Ai no Kusabi OVA. The old one. I watched it, it was good, but not as good as I thought it will be. I was disappointed because the story was a mess and most of the characters were so uninteresting. After that I read the novel and I got to understand why I didn't like the OVA so much. In the OVA a lot of things were missing and it felt so empty.

I agree with everything you said. I really can't stand the English dubbed version of Gravitation especially Yuki's voice! I'm disappointed with all the anime you mentioned and why too. I don't understand why they can be explicit in the mangas but can't do that with anime?
