What do you look for in a pairing?

In terms of shipping two characters together, what do you look for then it comes to pairings?

 

For example, I normally look for the chemistry between two characters when it comes down to pairings. What makes them work together, how they interact with each other, and if their personalities mesh or clash with each other. Is their height difference a problem or do they ignore it? How will A manage to eventually get B into the bedroom? How would A react to B's emotions and vice-versa? Is this ship platonic, sexual, or something else? (Then again, there are moments where I shamelessly ship simply because two characters look good together. Not to mention steamy fanart and smutty fanfics. ^^;; )

 

I guess you could also say that I mostly look for balance when it comes to pairings. But anywho, I want to hear your thoughts about it. Tell me what you think~?

I normally look for chemistry too. I mean sometimes it can be just if they look good together (I sometimes take two completely randoms and if I think they look good together in my head then its shipped like The 10th Doctor and Kim Jaejoong- I so can see then in an ep together) But if there's chemistry, I will ship them. whether it's platonic, family, lovers- I ship it all. Even if they look like they will gell well.

So their actions and emotions can differ a lot. I ship anything with chemistry...mostly ;D

The unexpected friendship is what always kills me. If you don't expect anything from one another everything will be thrown your way. This I can put an example of the anime No.6 where Nezumi did not even know Shion at all yet the intuition of ' he did this for me' lead on to his love for him. At times the chemistry will be an option but come on? It's anime they either start by hating each other or loving each other, there's no in between.

Teasing from the seme and am embarrassed uke. The uke has to be motivated tho and have a life apart from the relationship. Love and passion is a must!
