In this world, there exist special humans known as “Hummingbirds” who can enhance their abilities through the bodily fluids of others, as well as “Lilies,” who possess bodily fluids that grant them exceptional power.

As incidents of Hummingbirds targeting Lilies occur one after another, the government tightens its management of Hummingbirds, and the police remain wary of them.

Amid this situation, Torazaki, a detective known for his reckless, charge-ahead investigations that keep driving away his partners, is assigned to Section X, a department filled with problem cases, as a last chance to continue his career as a detective. There, he is paired with Tatsumi, a detective who also happens to have the Hummingbird constitution.

Torazaki initially clashes with Tatsumi, who prefers gathering information and conducting investigations without doing much legwork. However, after Tatsumi produces results using information-based investigation methods, Torazaki begins to acknowledge him—if only a little.

But then, when Tatsumi is affected by the scent emitted by a Lily, he suddenly pins Torazaki down, revealing that Torazaki himself has the Lily constitution…!?
