Vaughn nodded. He didn’t want to think about Brenton, but he hope Syi was okay.

 

He blushed but smiled at Ceries. “Thank you, your highness.” Those words meant so much to him!

 

He ate as quickly as he could. “What business do you have today?”

"Catching up on work from yesterday, more preparations for the coronation... I have another fitting today." Ceries frowned slightly. "And if Prince Advyk is arriving tonight then I will have to make sure everything is ready for him." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying not to get stressed from thinking about everything.

Vaughn could see him stressing out. “I can help get things ready for the Prince, your highness.” He offered.

 

He couldn’t help with everything but maybe he could lighten the burden a little?

 

“I can escort him to you when the Prince arrives? Or perhaps find a way to distract him to give you more time.” Vaughn offered.

"If you wouldn't mind preparing things then I would greatly appreciate it..." Ceries gave him a slight smile. "I would like to greet him when he arrives... It has been awhile since I have seen him."

He looked down at his plate. "I'm just a bit worried that it will be difficult for me to catch up after yesterday..." He admitted. "I just hope that I will be able to get more done since Mr.Black is occupied..."

Vaughn nodded. “I’ll help any way I can.” He promised.

 

He waited a moment before offering; “hopefully he’ll be busy. Are there any coronation arrangements I can assist with? I can get the servants to come help too.”

"Thank you Vaughn..." Ceries lightly chewed his lip. "I do not know if there is much you can do to help with the preparations... But if I think of anything I will call for you." He smiled at the man. "I will try to rely on you more if it is not too much trouble."

Vaughn nodded, relieved. “Please do. It is my honour to assist you, your highness.” Ceries “You can call me for any reason.”

 

Finishing his breakfast he rubbed his stomach. “Breakfast was delicious. Thank you for sharing with me.” He said honestly.

Ceries smiled a little brighter and finished his tea. "I am glad you could join me." He rose to his feet and smoothed out his robes. "Would you escort me to office?" He asked, wanting a few minutes alone with the man before he started work for the day.

“Of course,” he rose and took his place beside the Prince.

 

Vaughn held open the office door when they arrived, giving the Prince time to enter before closing the door. “Shall I get the papers from your room Ceries?”

Ceries sat down at his desk and let out a soft sigh. "Yes, if you don't mind." He gave the man a slight smile. "Also, would you mind stopping by every couple of hours today to make sure I take a break? Otherwise I might end up overworking myself again..."

“I never mind helping you, Ceries.” Vaughn smiled. “I’ll go gather them and return.”

 

He chuckled, “yes. I can bring you lunch too, if you don’t go to get it yourself. You need to look after yourself. Now more than ever.”

"That would be perfect." Ceries smiled at the man. "I'll do my best, thank you."

He turned his attention to the papers that were already on his desk and began to work.

Vaughn smiled at him. “You always do my Prince.” He winked and headed to collect his papers for him.

 

Along the way he spotted a maid acting curiously. As if trying to hide something in the flower display. He frowned a moment, pausing only to watch her slide into the servant hallway. How strange! He headed to the flowers but saw nothing unusual!

 

Shaking his head he walked into Ceries room, gathered what he needed and returned to the office. Maybe the strangeness was in his head? He hadn’t been sleeping well after all! Knocking he waited before stepping inside.

 

He couldn’t shake an instinct though. Something was a little off!

Ceries glanced up when Vaughn came in. "Ah, welcome back." He murmured. He lightly touched the man's hand when he set down the papers. "May I have a kiss before you go?" He asked softly, his cheeks flushing.

Vaughn chuckled, all other thoughts fading. “You don’t need to ask that.” The guard winked. Closing the distance and kissing him deeply.

Ceries blushed deeply and leaned up into the kiss, letting out a happy coo. After a few moments he broke the kiss and smiled up at the man, his face still flushed. "Thank you, that helped me regain a bit more energy." He laughed shyly and turned back to his work.

 

"I feel so much more relaxed now that he isn't here for a bit..." He admitted. "I know that I don't have to worry about him showing up suddenly."

Vaughn couldn’t deny enjoying the kiss! Sex might not be his thing but kissing definitely was!

 

He chuckled, kissing his forehead. “Take all the energy you need.” Vaughn could be that for him. Be there for him!

 

He nodded. “I can understand that.” Vaughn didn’t like Brenton near him at the moment, the memories tortured and raw..... yet Ceries wasn’t given an option! That bastard just took from the Prince. One day! He prayed. One day Brenton would get what he deserved!

 

“I’ll be back in an hour or so. I have a few things to do at the barracks. But you know how to summon me.” Vaughn promised, stepping towards the door. “I love you, Ceries.” He winked.

Ceries smiled at the man, his cheeks still flushed. His smile faltered at Vaughn's words about Brenton. He was so tired of both of them being hurt...

"Thank you, I'll be sure to call for you if I need anything." His face flushed deeper at the next words. "Ah... I love you too Vaughn." He lowered his gaze again, he wished that things could just stay like this...

He began to focus on his work again, doing his best to catch up on everything.

Vaughn headed to the field. Going on a jog and taking all the recruits with him. Next they finished the obstacle course. Vaughn felt more himself once he was done!

 

Heading back to the Prince after a shower only made him feel better too. He knocked and waited, “time for a break, your highness.”

Ceries stayed focused on his work. "Ah... I'm almost done with this part..." He called back. He knew that Vaughn probably wouldn't let him continue, he always said he was almost done but would end up just starting something else.

Vaughn headed inside, he could see Ceries writing, which was from. “Twenty. Nineteen. Eighteen....” he counted down.

 

He wouldn’t let Ceries continue once he got to zero! He carried on, voice clear as each number left his lips.”

 

“.... four, three, two...” Vaughn moves closer and played with his hair before lowering to whisper in his ear. “One.... zero!” He licked his ear, he couldn’t help it! A cat with the cream! “Stop working.”

Ceries focused more on his work, trying to get as much done as he could before the man got to zero. He blushed softly at the feeling of Vaughn's fingers in his hair, slowing down as he was distracted. He let out a yelp of surprise at the lick, his face becoming bright red. "V-Vaughn..." He whimpered.

“Sorry.” He grinned. “You looked so adorable that I couldn’t resist!” That blush was nice too!

 

Vaughn winked, stealing a quick peck before standing straight once more. “Would you like to go for a short walk? Or shall I sit so we can just talk?” He offered.

Ceries pouted and leaned into the kiss. "I-I'm not..." He mumbled.

He rose to his feet and stretched. "I think a walk would be nice if you don't mind." He decided.

“Of course I don’t mind, Ceries.” He smiled affectionately. “Shall we wander the corridors? Or head to the courtyard perhaps?”

 

Vaughn didn’t care. He just wanted to didn’t a little time Ceries! He was enjoying no Brenton also....
