Name: Felix

Age: 21

Personality: Calm, rarely breaks down in any kind of situation, although that doesn't mean he doesn't have feelings - he's just insanely good at hiding them. Felix always wants to help out, be it for a friend or enemy. He tends to forgive and forget, which sometimes leads to him getting hurt.

A tired sigh parted Felix's lips as he laid down on his bed. At last, he's home... He reached for his phone, dialing a number he could tell even if he was woken up at three in the morning. Of course he was calling Zed, as always. Last night he didn't seem so well, he couldn't help but worry. "Hey." He muttered into the phone, closing his eyes.

"Did you go see a doctor?" Felix asked without waiting, opening his eyes only to stare at the ceiling fan. If the other hadn't, he'd drag him there himself. It was never bad to do a check-up either way... Who knew what could be wrong. With a quiet sigh slipping past his lips, the raven glanced at his wrist, the faded scars only a reminder of something he hadn't overcome completely. He felt sick just looking at them.

Zed was laying on his bed while reading a book. He suddenly felt a slight twinge so he removed his reading glasses and carefully put it down with the book on the side table. He closed his eyes and massaged his temples for several seconds when he felt a slight vibration from his phone. He didn't need to confirm the caller before answering it. No one would bother calling him at this time except him. 'Felix'

"Hey. Did you go see a doctor?" He knitted his brows. He knew what the call means. The guy is just too much of a 'good friend'.

"Don't put yourself out on my account. How many times do I have to say it for it to sink in." He knew the guy's nature and his good will. But it still didn't sit well with him. 'But he had to admit, he started to get used to the calls. And he was also looking forward to it, a bit..'

Felix let out a soft groan, closing his eyes as he sighed out. "For what to sink in? That you're too stupid to admit something's wrong?" He groaned quietly, shaking his head while sitting up. "I'll be at your place in fifteen minutes. If you're not ready by then, I'll drag you out as you are, but you are going to see a doctor." He said firmly and ended the call without giving Zed a chance to reply. Hell, there was no way in hell he'd let that slip past.

As promised, in fifteen minutes he was standing at his friend's door, pressing the doorbell impatiently. His car was parked outside as he crossed his arms, pursing his lips slightly. There were times when kind words just didn't work. When those times came, he just had to use force...

Zed wanted to say he's fine but was cut-off. He stared at his phone for a while. "...I better get ready." He fixed himself up lazily. Knowing the guy, he knew he'd be seriously dragged out even in plain clothes. "No news is good news." He really believed that the guy was just too anxious for nothing.

Exactly fifteen minutes later, he heard his doorbell singing non-stop.

"Yeah, I'm coming!" Zed rushed to the door afraid that a second later, his friend would have put his doorbell out of use. "Geez. You are too tetchy today. Can't you take it easy on.. " He swallowed the rest of his words upon seeing the guy. He didn't want to tread on his friend's toes especially when the guy was making such a scary face. He immediately made a sweet and brilliant smile.

Felix narrowed his eyes when Zed tried to say something about taking it easy. Good thing the other realized himself that would be a mistake and just smiled. The raven smiled back and waited for the other to lock the door before motioning to the car. "Come on, I already booked an appointment for you. We'll be there right in time." He said simply as he walked to his car and got in, tossing a worried glance at his friend.

"You really shouldn't have waited so long... These are clearly not just normal headaches." He muttered, a frown appearing on his face. The man began driving, picking the shortest way to the hospital for obvious reasons. "It might be some weird form of migraine... Or..." He left his last guess untold, but the word was heavy without even being said - it could be cancer.

"Lately, I've been reading till late at night. It's normal to feel lightheaded or woozy..." Zed heard his friend's muttering and refuted him or least tried to. His voice toned down seeing the frown. He bit his lower lip and pretended not to notice the sharp gaze directed to him.

It was true that he's been under the weather these days. It wasn't only headache but also nausea that kept him awake. Of course, he didn't dare tell this to Felix. Who knows what would happen if the guy knew. Though, he really did appreciate his friend's concern. 'It's just a weird migraine, yeah'

Felix didn't even reply, it seemed pointless to him. Besides, his gaze was more than enough to show that he disliked how Zed was talking. Just reading until late at night wasn't enough to make someone feel like this. Hell, he'd seen his friend after he'd stayed up too late, and this wasn't that.

The raven pulled up at the hospital and got out, shooting a glare at the other. "Come on, let's move." He murmured, looking at Zed while his gaze softened. "Do you want to go there alone or should I come along?" The raven asked, waiting for the other to get out, holding his hand out. "I'm sorry I dragged you out like this, but... I'm worried."

"Yeah!" Zed couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle, averting his gaze away from his friend. He took the hand though and directed his attention to the white building. "Seriously, I think you're just making a federal case out of it. It'll all come out in the wash, you'll see." He flashed a smile to reassure his friend.

Zed always felt uncomfortable in hospitals. Whether it's the crowd or the smell of disinfectant, he hated it. If not for his friend insistence, he wouldn't be bothered to come. He drew in a breath and glanced at his company. "You don't need to come with me. I think I'll manage it from here. Thanks." He smiled and turned to walk towards the building.

Felix sighed softly and shook his head. "I hope so. It's better to be sure than sorry, you know?" He smiled, gripping the other's hand a little tighter. He enjoyed whatever physical contact he could get with Zed... He figured out long ago that he liked him a little bit more than just a friend. He never made a move, though. Felix didn't find these feelings necessary. They could ruin the relationship they had already.

"No, I'll wait in the lobby. Don't make me wait outside, at least... Besides, you don't even know where the office is." Felix chuckled as he nudged the other's side playfully. As they entered the hospital, he let out a soft sigh and looked at his friend. "Third floor, the 315 cabinet... Are you sure you don't want me to come along?" He asked one last time, worry showing in his eyes.

"No, I'll wait in the lobby. Don't make me wait outside, at least... Besides, you don't even know where the office is."

Zed's face went red with Felix’s words. Pretending to be some tough guy would never work in front of him. He disliked coming here, either to visit the sick or worse- to check if he's sick. Of course, he'd be anxious to come alone. Sometimes, it seemed like his friend could read his mind.

"Third floor, the 315 cabinet... Are you sure you don't want me to come along?"

At first, he couldn't find an appropriate response. The reason was because Felix came at him warmly.

"I'm not a kid. I can easily find it on my own." He said while puffing his cheeks smugly. He was actually quite nervous and he didn't like having his thoughts on a bad track. "Besides..." His eyes revealed a hint of discomfort but it immediately vanished as if it was never there. "Just be a good boy and wait for me here." Then, he smiled. "I'm a little hungry. Coming here is your idea so, you'll treat me. Right?... Well, I should go!"

Felix chuckled, gently pinching his friend's cheek when he puffed them out. "Sure you can." He laughed, shaking his head slightly. The raven watched the other with a soft, warm look in his eyes, pulling away as Zed continued speaking. "Sure, I'll take you anywhere you want once you're done." He promised with a soft smile, waving a small goodbye before going to sit down on one of the couches. He grabbed a magazine, beginning to go through it while he waited.

The cabinet to which Zed was supposed to get to seemed to be in the emptiest corridor in the whole hospital. The air there was heavy, even. On the way there, one would also pass the chemo area; at the moment, though, it seemed empty.

Zed was full of vitality when he started walking. "Wait up!" He run towards the elevator and gave the nurses inside a smile. He uttered his thanks and pressed the third button. He could just used the stairs but he decided against it because he wanted to get over this even a minute faster. When he heard the sound signalling a stop to his floor, he immediately walked out and bowed his head to the ladies.

"315..315"

He stretched his neck looking for the room here and there. "I should have asked Felix the exact direction." He clicked his tongue and continued walking aimlessly. His eyes darted a glance across a certain corridor which is almost deserted. He felt unusually nervous just by the atmosphere in the area. He wouldn't walk over there if he didn't notice the number 311. Knitting his brows, he grudgingly lifted his feet. He passed by the chemo area and his heart felt extreme discomfort. He hasten his pace and knocked on the cabinet 315.

The knock on his door interrupted the rhythmic ticking of the clock, accompanied by the scribbling of a pen. The doctor stood up, the chair cracking slightly from the weight. Slowly, the man walked to the door, opening it with a small smile on his face. "Come on in. You must be Zed." He greeted the other, opening the door further to let him in.

The doctor was rather tall, nicely built. He had black, slicked back hair and piercing green eyes. As he closed the door after Zed, he went back to his chair, tilting his head slightly. "Now then... From what I've got, you've been experiencing headaches, right? Anything else?" He asked, glancing down to take out something from the drawer.

Zed was restless sitting on the chair under the gaze of the doctor. He heaved a sigh and decided against keeping things from a medical specialist. "Recently, I always had a feeling of wooziness at getting up from lying or sitting. This is going on for months and for the last weeks. I experienced unusual migraine in which my usual migraine meds can't offer much help."

He looked straight at the doctor's eyes and nervously bit his lower lip. He resigned in frustration. "Alright, I'm also nauseous and even vomited a few times. But I think it's the food I ate though." He smiled shyly and looked away finding the doctor's name plate suddenly so interesting.

Doctor Sheppard took out a small flashlight-like thing out of the drawer, setting it on the table. "Have you been feeling unusual exhaustion lately?" He asked calmly, smiling a slightly. "The nausea could be from the food, but just to be cautious, let's add that to the symptoms." The man added, standing up again. He walked over to Zed, holding the flashlight in his hand.

Carefully, the doctor flashed the light into Zed's eyes, tilting his head slightly. "I'd like to take some blood to run a few tests and hopefully rule out some possibilities." He spoke again, setting the flashlight away. "Then, if necessary, I'll take a few scans. Did you come here with someone? It may take awhile."

He was a bit uncomfortable with the little touching but Zed let the doctor do his work. When he heard something about blood test, his face paled. "Needles?" He unconsciously said it aloud. His eagerness to go through the whole check-up was slowly slipping out through the windows. If he had to make a list of 'Reasons To Hate A Hospital', needles would enter the top five without questions.

As always, his head was in the clouds swarming with stupid ideas on running away. "...ome here with someone? It may take awhile." The last statement washed over his dreamy state. "Yeah, a friend" An image of the man waiting for him in the lobby surfaced his mind. 'a while..' "He's the one to set me up so he should have an inkling on how long this will take." He grudgingly answered the doctor. 'Stupid Felix' It took him a great deal of effort not to pout and storm out but he couldn't stop resenting his friend.

The doctor smiled slightly at the other's reaction to having heard about the blood test. "Yes, I'm afraid that's unavoidable." He spoke with a soft sigh as he walked around his table, sitting down for a moment. He took a piece of paper, writing down some numbers on it. "Oh, a friend? Would you like to inform him anyway? There's no rush as of the moment, you can take your time." Doctor Sheppard smiled as he stood up again, pushing the piece of paper towards Zed.

"These are the rooms you need to get to. While you get your blood drawn, I'll go and set up the MRI. I'll meet you there, does that sound alright?" He asked with a small smile, which never seemed to leave his face. He waited for the answer, standing barely a couple steps away from the man.

Zed thought for a moment. If it's gonna take a while, it would be nice to make Felix wait. He almost let out a smile in front of the doctor. He received the paper with the room number and he immediately erased the silly thought of leaving Felix out. He stood up clutching the paper and smiled at the specialist. "Yes, thank you."

He bowed his head on the doctor before walking out of the room. He snorted thinking about his friend and planning his speech. Upon reaching the lobby, he crumpled the paper and threw it on a man sitting comfortably whilst reading a magazine. "Just a check-up? They're gonna suck my blood and use magnetic fields and radio waves on me." He hissed sulkily. He knew he was exaggerating and acting like a child but he was intent on pushing his frustrations and fears on his good friend.

Felix nearly jumped as something was thrown on his lap. Fuck, he thought that was a spider... The raven closed his eyes with a heavy breath, taking the paper with a questioning look in his eyes. "Just bear with it... C'mon man, if anything, you'll be sure it's nothing bad and you'll have your dinner." The man spoke with a soft sigh, setting the magazine away.

As he stood up, tiredness and slight sadness shone in his eyes. "Let's go, I don't want to wait in here." He muttered, looking around as he ran a hand over his hair. All this worrying, even if it wasn't for himself, it was really making him feel tired. All the time... Felix let the other take his frustration out of him on other occasions, too. Hell, if that was how he could make Zed feel better, he'd do it.

'Good' He thought. He didn't really felt guilty towards his actions in front of his friend. To him, it was quite normal for Felix to cater to his whims and to deal with his childish rants. He wouldn't put it past the man to bite the bullet and to just accept everything, of course. But that was reserved for really rare instances when Zed got over board which he seldom did. It was one of those things which he actually both liked and hated about Felix. The guy was insanely good at keeping his feelings in check in contrast to him whose face was like an open book or at least in front of his friend.

Even for him, it was quite daunting to ask Felix to accompany him for a blood test. That's unspeakable! That's why he's grateful that his little plan could make his friend said the words himself. He doesn't want to look more petty than he already did. He sighed watching Felix comb his hair with his fingers.

Felix rubbed at his eyes with the back of his hand as he held the paper up. "So, blood first, then the scans... Alright." He muttered quietly to himself. He'd had enough experiences with hospitals to know exactly what the scans meant - for something that had something in common with the head, or the brain, it was tumors or bleeding. In Zed's case, he suspected it was a tumor... Bleeds didn't really act that way. Well, as far as he knew, and he definitely wasn't a pro.

Moving past his friend, the raven began walking towards the staircase, the paper in his hand. "Zed, think of where you want to eat later. What do you want, even? Pizza?" He questioned without looking at the man. He didn't need to have eye contact to feel like the conversation was going. Often he'd even turn his gaze away if another person tried to look him in the eye. It made him feel uncomfortable, as if they could see all he was trying to hide.

With heavy heart, he followed suit. The air mixed with the smell of disinfectant made his mood dark and his temperament bad. Every step seemed forced and heavy. Just thinking of the test and scan he had to undergo made him shudder. He concentrated on watching his friend's back who led with a degree of certainty.

To stop his thoughts on trailing towards the inevitable, he trotted behind his friend, distracting himself with food. "Pizza sounds good!...And bringing home some ice cream is even better!" He remembered his fridge was almost out of ice cream. Since his friend offered to bring out his wallet, he could ask him to spend a bit more. 'Yup' He clasped his hands together and nodded his head, feeling better.

Felix felt a smile tugging at his lips as he nodded, glancing over his shoulder just to make sure his friend looked alright. "Alright, so we'll go and get pizza, then we'll stop by a shop and buy ice cream, what else? Marshmallows? We could make a fire and roast some, if you're feeling up to it." He often felt like he was dealing with a child when he was Zed... He didn't necessarily dislike it, but it felt weird, at least.

"Oh, we're here." He muttered, pushing the door open before looking at the other. "Come on, let's get this over with and get out." Felix smiled a bit wider, glancing at the room instead of keeping his gaze on his friend. He had to be honest, taking blood was always his least favorite thing to do in a hospital. As long as he didn't look, it went fine, but if he looked... Once he nearly fainted.

"If you really like roasted marshmallows that much, then you can buy them and i'll even help you with it." Zed answered with a hint of amusement. 'What a child!' He thought it's rare for Felix to act childish so he would humor his friend. He decided to be the mature one and he seemed pleased with himself.

"Oh, we're here." Felix's voice woke him from his delusions while reality tore his eyes open. "..tsk" He clicked his tongue as he watched the smile painted his friend's lips. His heart kept pounding and his nervousness resurfaced making the color of his face a bit paler. He held the hem of his friend's shirt unconsciously and bit his lower lip. If he was alone, he would have turned around and ran away at the sight of the neat white room.

Felix's face seemed to have turned to stone when he heard Zed's comment. "It was for you. You do know dislike sweets, don't you?" He asked quietly, turning away again, after tossing a short glance at the other. "No marshmallows, then." He muttered out quietly and let out a quiet sigh. He was getting too irritated too easily. He seriously needed rest...

"Come on, this won't take long." The raven said as he took the other's hand from his shirt into his own and opened the door. "Hello." The man greeted the woman who glanced at him questioningly. Tugging Zed closer, Felix looked into his eyes for just a short moment before motioning to the chair. "I'll wait here. Don't look at the needle and you'll be fine." He murmured quietly, letting go of his hand.
