Oh gosh, it's been years since I did any graphics (other than sig images and avatars). I used to make a lot of these "back in the day", but I just got so busy with real life stuff that I fell behind with my computer graphics. I never had Photoshop (still don't) so these probably aren't as great as most things, but they make me happy and I guess that's what counts! I just stumbled upon some of my older ones, so I might periodically post them as I find them. I just find images and blend them together, then add effects and/or text. At the time, these were just "blends" and there used to be a lot of competitions, etc. with different themes or required images. I'm not sure I have any of my competition ones anymore (that was at least two computers ago haha!) but I'll see what I can find. The first one I'm listing is one I made recently. Anywho, this is mostly just a fun thing I do every now and then. ^-^ p.s- I hope these look ok on other computers/browsers. *___* Most are .png for color/texture effects to show up as close to the original versions as possible, so I apologize if they take awhile to show up. Also, most of the textures were not made by me. I found them at graphics resource sites, so credit for those and/or brushes go to those sites. Stock images were also found by searching Google and the like, including stock photography (unless stated that the photo or scan was by me).

Hey all, I recently read an article on Slate about "momisms" (little tidbits of wisdom our mothers or families pass down). Here's the article. Some things it mentioned include the fear of having a fan running in an enclosed area without an open window (South Korea - and I gotta mention the author of the article said he was a young child in South Korea and remembered fans were a serious thing growing up) and the fear that wearing red in the Philippines during a storm might attract lightening (although one comment mentions he/she never heard that, but he/she used to cover mirrors during storms instead to prevent lightening from striking). There are others listed in the article, and I know of a few from Japan I think (something about throwing beans in the corner? I can't remember if that's during the New Year? Feeding the spirits? Somebody... do you know what I'm talking about?) ... Or is that even Japanese? I can't remember! ;-; In any case, it got me thinking about the different cultural superstitions and beliefs held around the world. I know we all come from different cultural backgrounds here, so I was curious if anyone had some "momisms" they'd like to share? I think they're so interesting, and I love learning new things ^^ One thing my mom taught me (she's from the southern United States) was to eat black eyed peas (or black eyed beans) on New Year's Day for good luck in the New Year. My dad (who is from the northern United States) said he'd never heard of that until he met my mom. So, that's something of a "momism" in my family I guess (Also, this is not to make fun of any culture! I use copper watch and copper wire for the beads and 2 copper lobster claws... Because I don't know his wrist size so it can be adjustable into 7 1/4, 7 1/2, 8, 8 1/2... I just hope he will like this... --;;;; I work hard on it... I buy to much turquoise bead... so I used some to make my watch's strap... I got this watch for gift... but strap was getting loose so I couldn't wear this watch for so long... @Yukuu Yeah it is, though my dad knows where he lives now. My dad found out they might actually be distant relatives (my dad does a lot of family history stuff) which sparked his interest and kinda pushed him to seriously look for him. They were really good friends before my dad left the country for a bit, and then they lost contact. But apparently my dad found out the guy is fairly well-known, and he's a writer, which is exciting because I want to become a writer. Anywho, long story short, if my dad can figure out how to do a proper search or get on the phone to some people, he may be able to get in touch. Just maybe. xD
