Well, I know there's quite a few fans of Mana-sama here on YO, so I thought I might as well start a nice lil' thread dedicated to him. Here you can talk about everything Mana-sama related - Malice Mizer, Moi dix Mois, Girl'E, Matenrou, Moi-même-Motie, Midi:Nette etc. Maybe you're even a Mon+Amour? And for you who somehow have managed to escape who he is - here's a biography thingy; To start off, Mana was born on March 19 in Hiroshima, Japan to two music professors. Early on, Mana's parents tried to get him to learn piano but he detested it and thought it to be "for girls". Instead he found an interest in the "abnormal". Generally Mana does not like to bring up the past, but from what we do know, he was a metal head in high school, and even got into "cosplay" (from what he calls it) as a teenager by going to his first concert, Motley Crue. By this time, Mana fell in love with rock music and bands. With his love for Motley Crue, Mana was able to obtain his very own Tommy Lee drum set as this was who he really looked up to. Eventually he changed his entire bedroom to look like a concert hall set and attempted to play just about every band instrument (drums, guitar, bass, vocals). He eventually fell in love with the electric guitar and taught himself how to play from then on until he would be able to play with various other bands around the area. The first band he really got into playing with was Ves.Tearge, but then moved on to Girl'e. Eventually, outside of high school, Mana was able to meet someone who would end up becoming a very good friend of his, Kozi. Together, Mana and Kozi performed in the band Matenrou, with Kozi on Vocals and Mana on Bass. After leaving Matenrou, Mana and Kozi became co founders of Malice Mizer, hence the start of one of Mana's biggest careers. As most people know, Malice Mizer became a hot commodity in Japan's visual kei scene. The band started out with Tetsu on vocals, Mana on guitar, Kozi on guitar, Yu~ki on bass, and Gaz on drums. Early on in the band's fast passed career, Tetsu and Gaz left. Malice Mizer had come to a point where they had become a very poor band for about a year and were on the verge of breaking up, until Gackt (vo) and Kami (dr) came into the picture. With these two key people in the band, Malice Mizer was now growing into full speed again. Malice Mizer had full potential to accomplish what they were looking for in their careers and doing it at a fast pace. Merveilles reached up to Number 2 in album charts and the concert which came shortly after the album release sold out in a record of 2 minutes. Things at this time were going great, but during the production of the Le Ciel PV, everything began to flip upside down. Shortly after, the band started getting into disagreements, causing Gackt to leave. Even more tragedy arose when the drummer, Kami, unexpectedly died of a brain hemorrhage in his sleep. Malice Mizer was now in a low point being out a vocalist and drummer, once again. In the mean time, Mana opened up his very own clothing line, Moi-meme-Moitie, and record label, Midi: Nette (Midi: Nette started up in the indies days of MALICE MIZER when Tetsu was vocalist, however MALICE MIZER signed major under Nippon Columbia by the time of Merveilles, but after Gackt left MALICE MIZER went back to Midi: Nette). Another year later, Malice Mizer was back up again to where they could produce more with Klaha as a support vocalist, and a support drummer. Klaha eventually became Malice Mizer's perminent new addiction to the band, but Kami was never to be replaced with a new official drummer in his dedication as an "eternal blood relative". The band held up until December 2001, when they decided on a hiatus for unknown reasons. On March 19, 2002, Mana was "reborn" again in a since. Mana came back into the music scene with a new appearance and solo project, Moi dix Mois. In Moi dix Mois, Mana is most definately not the innocent little doll you once knew in Malice Mizer. Personally, I doubt he will ever fully go back to what he once was. In this project, Mana even composes, writes, and directs all of his own music. The apperance of Moi dix Mois gives of a strong "death metal" yet elegant and mysteriouse feeling to it, much like the music itself. Mana shows off a more powerful side to himself with powerful guitar cords and the very own image of how he sees the band should be. Moi dix Mois is much like a world within itself, which is very difficult to describe in words. In my own belief, you cannot simply read about Moi dix Mois to understand what it is all about. One must listen to the music to understand the myseriouse dark "world" it puts you in, and also see the visuals carefully set along with the sound to get a full understanding of who Mana is. Summary:I never thought of writing anything again, but since i was sick in bed for more days than i thought i could manage, this came out somewhat, naturally... I have to say this, because i wish to be the most honest possible in this kind of situation. The story will be about yakuza, and has a lot(really really really a lot) of faul language and violence. Awesome…? For Shouji, his life is probably, your worse view of life, your worse nightmare… Even so he goes on living, one day after the other like the river that no matter the obstacles, still flows into the sea… His story is like so many other stories of struggle, pain, loss and love… Love… He never really knew how he yearned for it… Does love truly change anything…? He never felt sorry for himself. He tried the best he could, he would battle the hardest his body allowed him to, it just wasn’t easy. The young boy, had strong health but faint feelings… All was sadness and pain. He prayed for the joy to come, at least for a bit, each and every night. If not joy, at least the emptiness… Felling nothing was better than to feel too much. The tears were not from the pain of his bruised and damaged face, no, these tears recalled long ago pleads, pleads he never got an answer or seen fulfilled. This pain was an old one, the times he remembered his mother were always the worse. Remembering the woman who died protecting his life, and left him alone to face the harsh world of guilt and blame surrounding him. He never asked for it, never asked to be saved, however, he was, and is now, living the twisting, painful despair. How many times did his father blame him? How many times did he get hit for that same reason? How much guilt and cruelty can a child bear within his heart…? I believe every one have one or two of skillful hobby... Well don't think this skill mean too much... Something you do better then other is skill... It could be simple thing or it could be some thing complicated... So I will start with mine... I love to do almost any things with hand... making or reforming... decorating... cooking... so on... ^^;;; Someone may see my posting about Mao's gift... I make jewelry... some things like... this... and this... also I used old cloths to make some things like... this.. and this... I also do like this... This was about 4years ago Valentine's Day... At the suggestion of a forum member (thanks again for the suggestion dear), I have decided to implement a new system to help new users to better integrate in the community. We have to choose between these 2 systems: Kazoku or Sempai/Kouhai Kazoku System Kazoku system is a family system. We will create small groups (of 5-10 members) that will become a "family" and we will assign them a family name (eg: Ryuiichi kazoku, Senji kazoku etc.) In each 'kazoku' we will have a kazoku leader, who will maintain the family relationships and will create contests or games among the family members. Inside of the kazoku, the members can discuss anything (problems/hobbies etc.). To sort newbie into a kazoku, we will open a thread in the introduction section. On that thread, newbies can register themselves and share their hobbies/gender/language etc in order to help us sort them into a kazoku. We can choose his/her kazoku bases on his/her hobbies or anything else that fits in a kazoku. After a certain period we can make an award for the kazoku (eg: most active kazoku/ innovative kazoku) Senpai/Kouhai System In this system, we will choose a group of Senpai from the veteran users. We will open a thread in the introduction section in which new users (kouhai) can register themselves and where they will tell us a few things about themselves (hobbies/gender/language etc) in order to help us suggest them a Senpai. We will then choose a senpai to a kouhai based on their hobbies similarities. The senpai must be warm and friendly with the kouhai, taking care of kouhai, and even become a guidance/mentor to the kouhai.... Further Details (Thanks to Angel0fS!n) Sempai-Kouhai system --> What is it? it is a system to let YaoiOtaku forumer to be more interact with each other. --> How does it works? 1) We need a sempai(Veteran YO forumers) and also a kouhai(newbie). 2) A newbie (kouhai) register himself/herself on a "sempai/kouhai thread" Of course those who wanna be a sempai can also apply to be sempai in this thread: We need sempai (link is not available until further notice) 3) On that thread, he/she has to tell us, anything about him/herself, then, Sempai/Kouhai System's admin will pick a Sempai for him/her. 4) Sempai then can greet his/her kouhai via PM/VM/chat. 5) Both of them are allow to use any language they want, while on their conversation, as long as both of them understand that language. 6) kouhai/sempai can ask anything from his/her sempai/kouhai regarding forum function or Yaoi-related things (eg: manga, anime, opinion, suggestion or whatever it is as long it doesnt' break forums main rules) and even learning his/her sempai's mother tongue. 7) Both of them are allowd to use PM/VM/chat as a medium to chat. 8) After a few months a kouhai can also apply to become a sempai to his/her new kouhai. ================================================== ================ Here are additional info regarding those systems... I am very picky with cosplay images but when I do find them...I can't stop spazzing about them. they're so awesome! The best Hiroki Kamijou cosplay EVER...(Junjou Egoist) No one even comes close to this one. Really captured Hiroki so much. a living breathing Hiroki. It's not easy to find a very good Nowaki Kusama cosplay but this just might be my lucky night. Another challenge is finding a very good Misaki x Akihiko cosplay where you can actually appreciate the age gap. (Junjou Romantica) Now THIS totally blew me away. This has got to be the most awesome and the best Yuki and Shuichi cosplay ever done in so many years. I've been a fan of the series for so many years and to see this achieved, I feel so amazed.
